My first finished animation of 2025! Revisited Transformers Armada, and even to this day, this version of Starscream has the BEST character development and redemption arc. Plus, I just love his interaction with the other kiddos, especially Alexis. I just have to create this short loop animation of Screamy learning an Earth custom that is dancing.

Man, I don't mind someone writing a fanfic about this (like the Armada kiddos went to the school dance and came back to the base to tell the other Autobots about it, and Lexie teaches Screamy how to dance up outside of the base).

How would Alexis react in the Transformers multiverse?

Following the recent Transformers multiverse crossover video, we saw Alexis interact with the Transformers Prime kids. The cute thing is that she still fondly keeps Starscream's necklace.

That's why I imagine Alexis wouldn't have it easy in the multiverse because we know Starscream is the villain. Even though in Armada, he was a villain who turned good, Alexis would have a hard time convincing the other kids about Starscream.

Something that would be interesting to see is Alexis' necklace lighting up every time Starscream is near her due to the connection she had with Armada's collar.

The ones she could have an important role in is a crossover with Prime and Earthspark, since in the other universes Starscream is dead or would not have a striking role since she would be overshadowed.

Prime: When Alexis meets the Transformers Prime kids. She tells them about her necklace and her relationship with Starscream. The Prime kids would look at her with a dirty look, making her see that Starscream will never be good.

She understands this since that was her Starscream but the Autobots would be rude to her. Both the Autobots and the Decepticons would try to take her collar since it seems to be a tracker for Starscream which they can use for their own purposes.

Earthspark: Unlike the other universes, they would be more understanding. Maybe Megatron and the Autobots don't believe that Starscream changed. The Terrans would support her.

The Terrans who would support her the most would be: Twitch, Hashtag and Nightshade.

TF Armada Alexis’s Full Name

Full disclaimer out of the way, I’ve never watched Armada. I plan to though. Also, pull up a chair. This is another long one.

Some of you know her. Some of you know a specific version of her. Whether it’s Alexis/Alexa from the anime, Alexis Garner from @itsthelass​ ‘s fic, Faeformers, your own, etc. During the time of the show’s run, she wasn’t given an official last name until this Almanac came out. 2010 vs. 2002 difference. Her full name is Alexis Thi Dang, confirming she’s Vietnamese. We don’t know she is full Vietnamese or half Vietnamese or what. Her design isn’t helpful. 

I’ll accept Vietnamese American girls with brown hair. That were a few of my classmates in elementary school and almost every auntie I see. (Years are VERY off, but you get the point.) Good times. I don’t understand her green eyes though. Green eyes are less common than blue eyes, but genetics tend not to apply in anime/cartoons. (See Marinette’s blue eyes from the Miraculous Ladybug show. Also the fact, how Japanese characters look in anime compared to non-Japanese characters or real life Japanese people) I don’t know what eye colors her parents have, but if the green is natural, she must be at least a quarter Vietnamese. I think? I’m not doing math right now. Unless it’s a genetic mutation, but I don’t know how to tackle that. Yes, I know it’s possible for Vietnamese girls to have blue eyes. However, Google gave me one result of a Vietnamese girl with natural blue eyes, but she is one of the mountain people (ethnic minority). I should know the word for them, but I took Viet 1 some four years ago and forgotten. Other than that, all I have as evidence is this one girl I saw at my high school who has striking blue eyes and can never tell if it’s natural or not. I should’ve asked her, but her fluency and mien bac accent scared me. 

I’m suspecting her green eyes are contact lenses, with prescription or not. It could be a headcanon for a fic. Do what you like with it. I edited some pictures of her with different colors below. Just to see how it’ll turn out. 

You might be wondering why I’m even starting this discussion in the first place. “She’s from an old anime, don’t make a fuss.” “It’s just the color choice of the designers, whatever.” Yeah, but you know how excited I was when I read her last name? The fact I got a smidge of representation, even if it’s more Word of God than canon? The only other Asian humans we got are Sari Sumdac (kinda? Techno-organic?), Isaac Sumdac, and Miko Nakadai. There might be more I’m missing; feel free to let me know. 

So where I going with all this nonsense? I want Alexis to showcase more of her Vietnamese culture. 

Yeah, I know. Awful of me. Again, I’m giddy she’s Vietnamese. I know it’s impossible to show any of the Vietnamese stuff since the anime’s long over and almost nobody knows she’s Vietnamese. All I’m asking is a fanfic where it’s shown. It can be small or big. You know what, draw her in an ao dai or something. Have her eat banh cuon. I guess I should write my own things too. “If you can’t find it, make it yourself” sort of feelings.

So I tried to watch the first episode of Armada to finally know what is up with Alexis after seeing every fan-made content with her and (any continuity) Starscream. First episode in and ran into the following problem: got interrupted barely 5 or 10 min in, Tubi lacked subtitles, and the overload of words to fill in lip sync time ala mode English dub bc this was an anime from 2002 annoying me. Also hearing Rad say “she totally likes me, she’s just playing hard to get” did not age well.

Argh, I’ll get back into it either English or Japanese. Gotta get around to writing some Vietnamese fun stuff for her. I don’t know, write a fanfic about her eating chè but she ran out of green jelly so she resorted to blue jelly and now it’s g1 Starscream coloured.

Whether she is president or just a politician in this AU is up to debate, but she is one of the few humans who know about Cybertronians residing on Earth. Plus she has some history with Starscream. 👀

Me seeing lil Shortstop n Blitzwing in alt mode post: so how does Blitzwing's relationship with his sparkling differ between his personalities

Ohohohoho be ready for an infodump.

Zing and Shortstop had a very good relationship as she grew up. He prided himself on being the 'fun one' and while none of them remember being a sparkling (nor much at all before their split) he compensates by doing anything to make Shortstop smile. Which consequently also made him learn what makes her cry (apparently faking having his limb cut off is actually really upsetting and he shouldn't do it). As she got older however he wasn't really equipped to deal with how that'd change things, he could no longer distract her as easily and she began to actually push back against that facade. Anytime things get rough emotionally he switches out which is why their relationship strained.

Blitz is the picture of a mama bear. Over protective and deadly he will and has killed mechs for trying to mess with Shortstop. While never violent with her his quick temper doesn't help when he can't punch problems away. Shortstop is reluctant to tell him things because of this, she doesn't want anyone hurt and hates being the cause of it. However in the present their relationship is probably the least shaky on account that Blitz is the closest to actually talk about her sire (even when he gets interrupted) and actually has the words to try and comfort her. She knows he wants the best for her but she also feels smothered by his protectiveness and concern.

Wings never really knew how to act with Shortstop. Sure he knew what to do with her physical needs and what she needed to have a successful life within the Decepticons. But he never grappled with his own emotions about her sire and so freezes or clams up whenever Shortstop reminds him of Optimus. He wants to make the world around her the best it could be but he cannot deal with the person she is. Not knowing how to comfort her when she cries nor calm her when she's angry, he just tries to out reason her problems because it's the best he can think of doing. Shortstop feels like she's a burden he has to carry to the finish line.
