You might be a muggle if you don’t know where this is 😉 Because I am a nerd and I love Harry Potter, a trip to London wouldn’t be complete without a stop at Kings Cross Station to visit platform 9 3/4. Inside the station there is actually a store called Platform 9 3/4 and it’s filled with so many Harry Potter things! Outside you can find this trolly halfway inside the wall so you can pose like you’re on your way to Hogwarts! Tip: you’re going to be in line for a long long time. The line to the store was about 20 mins and to get a photo at the trolly.... 2hrs. Yes.... I said it. 2 whole freaking hours. If you plan on going to the Harry Potter movie set, there is one there and it had no line. The ocean fronting this university is interesting. While walking the very windy board walk and watching gliders go about their business, I realized that the shore is as curvy as its waves. A very peculiar friend in front of the door. Tainan has a long history of cultural integration. This little cafe in the outskirts of the university was once an old house that fell down during a large earthquake. The government, being so saddened about the possible loss of the cultural artifacts inside, decided to rebuild the house and turned it into small cozy cafe. It is cold outside but the flowers are in bloom. I am very thankful for the opportunity of traveling and meeting amazing and visionary people in business and education. What I love the most in educational travels are the learning and ideas that I absorb from the place and the people. Places like Busan, Osaka, Hyogo, Taoyuan, Tainan, and Kaohsiung are just few that I may have tread but more places are waiting and I'm sure of it. Atop the 77 floor in Kaohsiung's tallest building, the busy streets below looked like veins branching in and out larger and larger portals. Fronting the gates is a tree which is dissimilar from other trees. Because it is the only one planted with much care similar to how the people in Tainan cared when the Japanese Prince came. This tree from Okinawa was planted as a remembrance of the prince's coming. Tainan has a cultural history of Japanese settlements. Round and round by the bend. Miss Shirley had a presentation meeting today with the interested students of the service learning program. Each one has their own stories and reasons for coming. But one thing unique, they are not as good in their culture. To be able to teach other kids they must be able to relearn their roots and it's gonna be a tough requirement. However, even if it costs a lot for them the experience of teaching your culture to others is worth all the effort.
