I just have to tell you that wood IS really sexy though. You may already know this, but you can engineer some insane shit out of just wood. Imho we use metal bc it’s stronger and less prone to breakage (and burning lol) but you can do so much with wood and it’s easier to work with at home it’s wild to me. I once built a working model of a semi dump truck almost entirely out of wood it was so cool

How To Evict A Dryad

Dryad: (defensive) What about it?

New homebrew dropped, this time based off my favorite Holly Black book, The Darkest Part of the Forest! The Leaden Trees hides many secrets, only one of which is the corrupted wood elemental known as Sorrow. Along with her Shadow properties, she has the arcane ability to cast Heart Shaping with her touch. When a character failed their Might test, I had them roll a Self Discipline to resist being overcome by the grief she feels as they are slowly rooted into place.

The low defense and health stats meant that she was easy to attack, but only after the party (of which 2 out of the 3 PCs dump stat is Willpower) got a hold of themselves.

Plant Shaping: The elemental can use the Plant Shaping arcana, utilizing Willpower (Self-Discipline) for any requisite tests.

Roots: Any creature that starts its turn on the ground within 2 yards of the wood elemental must make a successful TN Strength (Might), or be unable to move as plants shift and grow beneath them and begin to root their feet into place.

Treeform: Due to their ligneous nature, wood elementals have a natural armor of 5.

Heart Shaping: The creature can use the Heart Shaping arcana, utilizing Perception (Touching) for any requisite tests, as long as the victim is within range of its roots.

Shadow: The creature is attuned to the forces of Shadow. It takes half damage from all non-arcane attacks and can use the Regenerate and Blending powers in dim light or darkness. In sunlight or other bright lights it takes damage normally, and all light-based and fire-based attacks do an extra 1d6 penetrating damage to it.

Regenerate: The creature can recoup Health equal to its Constitution (minimum 2) as a 2 SP stunt. This stunt may be used multiple times if enough stunt points are available, increasing the healing effect. Wounds of a certain type cannot be healed with Regenerate; in this case, light-based damage.

Blending: The creature can blend into its surroundings. This gives the creature a +2 bonus to any Dexterity (Stealth) tests based on hiding or avoiding being seen.

Storm Jewel, Marian Crane

Part of my loosely-connected ongoing 'Jewel Vista' series, this piece depicts a palo verde tree tree in bloom, its branches draped in a silver and ruby chain, all against a spring storm in the background. I began the 'Jewel' series in sketch form back in 2005, as a sensual and surreal exploration of natural treeforms combined with my decades-long experience in jewelry design. Some pieces are more realistic, like this one, while some are much more abstract. In the days before 'Fifty Shades of Grey' hit it big (and long before I stumbled into writing erotic romance, myself), the 'Jewel' series was a discreet and veiled celebration of erotica and bondage themes...suitable for public viewing, but holding secrets in plain sight.
