"From what I understand, the novel didn't have this "couple," so they came about in the series only to turn into nothing, so what was the point of adding them? Trin confessed to Wave that he liked him on a debate trip, and Wave punched him. Wave held a grudge for an unreasonable amount of time which he pushed on to his mentee, only to show up at Trin's bar at the very end of the series before the scene ended. Trin either shouldn't have existed in the series or should've had an actual story, but whatever weird nonsense of a story he did get in the series was not needed."
