Okay okay soooooo

This is Artemes and she’s a kōrai no bōzu yokai who was there when the Kraang first came, and ended up getting possessed. She was brought back during the 2020 invasion and reacted differently when April splashed her with those chemicals— screaming and mutating, almost— so after they won Mikey and Draxum contained her and burned the Kraang off of her.

It’s been hundreds of hundreds of years since her family died and her village was destroyed, and she doesn’t even remember her name. Splinter chose “Artemesia Gentileschi” or “Artemes” for her.

She’s mute at first, and eventually opens up to the turtles. She’s quieter and doesn’t really get modern stuff that much (think Karai but way more into magic and not as impressed by tech). Kōrai no bōzu have excellent singing voices and play music by rivers, so she finds music helps her and Raph relax during moments of Kraang-flashbacks.

She may or may not have a crush on Donnie lmao

The pink stuff on the side of her head is a sort of “gash” that acts as her ear

She has pink surrounding her beak

Kōrai no bōzu have longer claws to begin with, but being Kraangified extended Artemes’ phalanges

Three important things:

Manic Pixie Dream Girl Yelena Belova. Team striker. Red hated it at first and now he thinks it's hot. They usually work as a team on the ground, and have a "fastball special" where he throws her at enemies. Can shit talk with the best of them. Has a worse mouth than he does.

He's usually the one holding her back. She's scrappy as hell and defends her people, ESPECIALLY Raph. Zero self preservation, full on "lemme at 'em" style kicking as Red carries her away.

The Beauty and the Beast dynamic is a huge part of their relationship. It started as a joke, but has worked it's way into being entirely organic. Jess is a huge geek, so Hulk/Natasha, Hellboy/Liz, etc. are referenced constantly. Occasionally, when she calls him "Red," he'll call her "Sparky." It does does have it's downsides. Raph could only watch Endgame once, and she refuses to watch the End of Beauty and the Beast.
