11. Are they into dirty talk?

Daffodil/Deacon: Unfortunately, yes! So much! To the dismay of anybody who happens to be in earshot.

Deacon has a hard time being sincere, so he gets more playful than serious in bed. Daffodil loves it - she’s glad he’s comfortable enough to still joke around even when he’s this vulnerable with her. Also she thinks he’s SO funny. Being theatrical as she is, she rolls with it and “yes, and--” 's him until they’ve full on veered into Porn Parody Dialogue territory.

Tuesday’s way into it. She’s raunchy as hell with it, too. No coyness or double-entendre here, just pure sleaze. And she doesn’t keep it exclusively in the bedroom - her idea of flirting with her partner is to nonchalantly whisper something x-rated in their ear and hope it gets them all hot and bothered. Sometimes her timing’s off, though, and they’re just like “Jesus, Tuesday, not now.” It’s a real kick to her ego.

Paladin Danse is. Well. About what you’d expect. He’s not much of a talker in bed, though when he is he’s direct with his wants and intentions. Tuesday likes encouraging him to talk nasty to her, and he’ll comply in the moment but feel embarrassed about it later on. He’s also not very good at it. Sometimes she’ll make him say what he wants to do to her, and he’ll come back with something like “I want to have intercourse with you.” He tries his best.

When Rhys was alive, he could match her energy. He matched it a little too well, even - she’d try to order him around, he’d try to assert dominance, half the time their dirty-talk just sounded like another one of their arguments. The other half of the time they really were just arguing in the middle of sex.

7. What is their favorite intimately non-sexual thing to do with their partner?

They like to bathe together. It’s rare that they have access to running water, so when they find a shower or tub they make the most of it. Daffodil’s a bubble bath with rose petals kinda gal (though usually the best she can find is some soap and dried hubflowers), she’ll make a whole spa day out of it when she’s able. And Deacon provides the snacks. He’s a bath-snacker. Which Daffodil was iffy on until she kicked back with a glass of wine and a fresh mutfruit, and now she’ll never go back.

But even on days when all they have is a bucket of water and a rag, they like to turn on the radio and scrub each others’ backs. Deacon has a hard time letting himself be taken care of, so he tells himself its an exercise in team-building so he won’t feel too guilty about it. Daffodil doesn’t really know how much it means to him, because to her it just feels natural - of course they deserve a relaxing soak after a long day of wasteland adventures! Everybody deserves to pamper themselves!

Hey there Lovelies! Holy Moly! What a week it's been, and it's only Tuesday!! I cannot tell you how nice it is to see so many folks so excited! It's like we got an injection of pure dopamine from all the news, and I'm so happy it's helping everyone feel a little levity!

And you know what?

You deserve a break!

You deserve to feel happy!

It's been a lot lately, and some people might try to shame you for being happy about something while there's so much not so happy going on in the world, but please oh please remember, that you deserve to have happiness too.

Even if it's just a little here or there, or bounds of happiness -- you deserve a break from all the things you have to deal with every day. You deserve a chance to smile, and to laugh, and to enjoy this crazy life we live, and bask in the warm sun, or the cold wind.

You do not need to feel bad for enjoying yourself once in a while. No matter what it is-- even if its unrelated to the fandom, or anything that's happened the last couple days, please go out today or tomorrow and enjoy something.

Do you like tea? Drink a cup of your favorite tea!

Do you like going for walks? Get on out there and move those legs!

Do you like animals? Find a random neighborhood cat (not a wild one) and give it some much needed pets if it's friendly!

Do something that brings YOU joy, not anyone else. Another Borderlands idea I really like to think about is the idea of Katagawa Jr. genuinely not grasping the concept that his attack on Atlas was percieved as anything but like, a flamboyant display of power (a show of prowess that should convince the company he's attacking, in this case Atlas, that Maliwan is a corporate entity well worth joining), or a simple game meant to initiate negotiations until that moment when Rhys finally lands a hit on something he likes. Not in a "he didn't know what he was doing" way, but in a "this fucker was born and raised in a corporate environment that would turn anyone into Patrick Bateman 2 after a few months, corporate war is something he's so used to that it seems like little else asides from typical/playful negotiation to him." Why would any of it would be personal, when that's just what you do in the corporate sphere, right? It's almost more of a formality than anything else. In his case specifically, I think it's almost another poor effort at wooing Rhys- showing off how easy it would be for him to use Maliwan's armada to garner whatever they wanted, in his fantasy world where Rhys ends up working with him all while promising he can easily replace what was lost if they just join teams. Destructive as it was, he didn't mean any of it with ill intent aimed directly at Rhys himself until he actually recognized his retaliation as BEING personal in nature. I mean, hell, he blew up Rhys' invisible ship like two feet in front of him, and could've just obliterated him on the spot right there, but he didn't really think *they* were at war yet, so of course he didn't. The man was literally peacocking for him the entire time. Send tweet.

Paramount and Skydance are creating a streaming platform and the people running it are hopefully more likely to see a story about queer and BIPOC joy with fantastic numbers behind it as a good investment. Bluesky user Petrichor has put together a Kudoboard to send them, which means anyone can submit a blurb about what the show means to them, so the comments will all be aggregated and sent to P/S. You can even use images from the show gathered by OFMD Frames!

I said I was going to be late to the party :)) but I have a lovely block of writing time at least one or twice a week with this new job, so I figured why not give it a little try (plus @tiredassmage enabled me so hard with the idea of Agenttober that I couldn't at least put something out :P)

A year’s worth of stress, blood, sweat, and tears released across the graduation pavilion in thrumming music and strobing lights. Newly minted Imperial Intelligence professionals, strung so tightly after walking the tightrope of success and failure, let out everything they’d been holding within themselves. 

It was a night to be remembered, or, more than likely, filtered through a hangover stupor the next morning, filtering fact from fiction through a raging headache. 

Sipping at her fruity drink, which Roslynd had told the bartender to make extra strong, Roslynd couldn’t find it within herself to muster the same excitement. No, it wasn’t the cautious anticipation that knotted in her stomach. It was dread. It was guilt. It was something gross and bleak, and miserable. 

The countdown set for this night, the one she’d tick down every morning as she’d unwound her curlers from her hair, had stopped a month ago. Ever since she’d stumbled back into her room, clumsy on crutches, it’d laid face down on her desk where she’d slammed it down in a fit of tears. 

“I wish you were coming with us.” Valetyn’s touch was feather light on her shoulder before one arm went around her waist. She leaned back against his chest, brushing against the silk of his shirt. Her gut twisted again; the rich purple of his shirt, the purple sheen of her dress and matching earrings, Rhys’ violently violet tie, all chosen to match when they’d been certain all three of them would be getting on the transport to some backwater planet tomorrow. 

Back when they’d been certain their trio would be moving on as one.
