There is no motivation for me to uncollapse the reblog chain—it looks like a boring conversation about the denominations of coins. And even if I do uncollapse it, you've ruined the joke by showing me the punchline before the setup. I am sad, Tumblr is boring, I go elsewhere to entertain myself, I see less ads, you make less money, everyone loses. 😥

Reblog chains are the best thing about Tumblr. They are your unique super power. They are the thing that makes people screenshot Tumblr and share it around. Why on earth would you kneecap them??

I don't know exactly how you plan to implement this. Give people the option to keep them collapsed if there truly are people who are annoyed by how long they can get (you already have a version of this feature), but don't collapse them for everyone or new users by default. Please. It will make Tumblr so much more boring.

i would love to read a pokemon isekai in the perspective of a legendary that gets traded off to the complimentary game. like, imagine you're an elemental being, a near-deity if you will, and after another stupid human group misuses your powers some random child beats you within and inch of your life. clinging to your last bit of health, you agree to aid this random child. they cheer, bring you back to the nearest hospital, and then send you into an alternate dimension that is nearly the same as your original world, but there are a few minute differences that's just enough to make you restless each night. the sounds of the night are mostly right, but there's that one voice that's not quite the same as what you remember. you get the ability to become stronger faster, desperate to return to your original world, but it is to no avail. this new world is yours now. and it is up to you to guard this friend of the brave child who beat you up to begin with

anyways here’s the dragonfly poem but for realisies this time (the spacing is very important to me):

have you ever had a dragonfly

perched

upon your finger

beady

round shiny eyes staring up at you curiously,

cautiously,

wings wilting lower and lower as a sign of trust

until finally,

it shoots towards your face!

and against your instincts you remain still.

have you ever had that dragonfly snatch the mosquito preying upon you or at least considering it

out of the air, faster than the eye can think,

your finger to chomp down its meal?

that feeling of being

protected

by something much smaller than yourself,

is probably the reason

gods

choose mortals.

they probably think you are a tree,

or at least a massive beast

with your small comparative eye size and lack of wings

your loud booming voice and your

slow

movement speed.

but in that very instance, you are there to stand tall

to hold out a finger in the warmest beam of sunlight

to provide food and rest while

also

being

protected.

have you ever held your heart in your throat watching the gory devouring of a small insect?

have you ever wanted to do anything for this dragonfly?

watching you as it eats

unable to comprehend the depth of your emotions or the scope of things you would do for it?

you started out annoying dragonflies into perching on your finger, doing it out of

curiosity

at first, and then as a flex. then you started raising them up to shine in the sun, bask in its warmth like the flower stalks you mimicked.

every time one lands, or two, you do this now:

let them relax for a bit, then slowly.

gently.

raise them up to the sky.

if you could eat them you'd be at a disadvantage. they're farther away and harder to catch up with. but you don't so you won't, and you hold them up high.

this must be what it's like appointing a legendary hero.

I told Tumblr in feedback that I hated the new layout and some bootlicker sent back an email saying (paraphrased) “tough nuts, you fucking moron. If you have a REAL problem, go ahead and send it to us here. But whining about the layout won’t change a damn thing”

so if you ALSO have a problem with the new layout, please by all means send it to https://www.tumblr.com/support under the Feedback category. Make sure to copy your paragraph before you send it so you can go to your tumblr account email and send it again to their actual feedback line. they want to shut us up and split us up. but if more people complain about it, like with getting rid of chrono dashboard, they might think it’s not worth it.
