-a teenaged boy runs away from home because of his abusive mom only to join a crime gang funded by his abusive mom.

-the player character is given a smartphone by and with direct contact to God.

-a man cosplaying God (the same God you got a phone from) attacks you with a demon banished to another dimension.

-a suicide cult led by an evil snowflake kills like one hundred other protagonists.

-there is an entire elemental typing consisting of abused and evil Pokémon that is super effective against everything else.

-the player falls into an alternate world and one of their friends is immediately arrested for playing sports.

-the protagonist’s father had a godlike clone fuse his consciousness with a mouse, and fights a man who fused his own consciousness with an alien.

-the one a cult leader chose to be king of his new religion is an abused autistic boy with green hair and wearing a baseball cap.

-you literally rob people’s Pokémon in one game and you’re still the good guy. …is there a gender neutral version of “good guy?”

Nearing an end with writing notes for turtles. Thinking of posting about April and Splinter separately, and then a big post for side characters.

Mikey Character Notes

Language Habits:

Catchphrase: "razzmatazz"

Tendency to "hoo-ha!"

Uses aave/bae

Like Raph and Leo, he will verbalize his attacks, but notably less than the aforementioned two. His most common phrases: "power whip jitsu" (chain moves), and "power fun jitsu" (use of his fire)

Shortens words/phrases in his excitement (i.e. the famous omigosh), but lengthens words in his wonder/amazement like drawing out wow into wooooooow

Uses a lot of idioms, i.e. "give us the 911", "hit the bricks", "you've been workin' a nerve"

Uses a lot of alliterations, especially when describing something

Refers to splinter as "pop" or "dad", with the rare "father" (usually for dramatics)

Personality:

Believes the best in everyone. He can easily connect and empathize with others, most notably Draxum

Blunt, he doesn't hide his opinions and can accidentally be a little too harsh. On the other hand, he uses his persona of "Doctor Delicate Touch" to purposefully use his bluntness. He doesn't really much to hide on what he thinks about people

Sensitive, he's easily swayed by the emotion or pathos of others (read: gullible). This also mean his ego is easily damaged, which can contribute to his competitiveness with Leo at times and his inferiority complex with Raph babying him

The emotional heart of the team, he keeps the brothers grounded in empathizing with others

Energetic. Mikey's the wildcard. No one can guess what's coming out of his mouth next, and his fighting style is very innovative. All his energy gives him a charming amount of "razzmatazz"

Firey. Mikey's a pretty expressionate guy. He doesn't hide his emotions, and he doesn't really hide his anger. Sometimes this comes out in his bluntness, and sometimes this comes out in strained rage that has a boiling point

Looks up to his brothers. He has a lot of admiration for his older brothers. Whenever he's put in a corner he thinks what would Raph do, he's grateful for Leo's advocacy, and likes spending a lot of time with Donnie and his inventions. He also has a need to prove himself to his older brothers due to his admiration

“it’s okay … you won’t break him.”

your voice startled kregg so suddenly that he twitches in his seat, even if all you had said was a spoken through a whisper. he hasn’t expect you would be awake at this time. after the battle you went through, recovery should be the next step and — there he goes, once more thinking like a general.

looking up from the bassinet, kregg turns to soak in the image of you, flushed and exhausted but no less beautiful. at some point that he was oblivious to, you hit the switch to power on your bedside lamp.

“you can hold him. no nurses here to judge. just us,” you encourage gently.

he had been so stiff and awkward, hadn’t really settled down his nerves, when the nurse first handed his son to him. almost acting if he didn’t know the custom of letting the parent hold their newborn and it was unexpected for him, the father, to hold and cradle his son. perhaps too quickly, they intercepted your son and laid him on your chest. since then, kregg has been standing at a distance like a man gauging a grenade’s unpredictability.

kregg has a hard time with … gentleness. you think he might have not had a kind childhood — abusive if you’re honest — but you would never in a million years press for any information.

there is something in the way he twitches and recoils when shown affection that hurts your heart more than anything though.

you love your husband. you want him to experience endless floods of love for every day he might have had a drought of it. here and now, you want him to know that’s he’s capable of gentleness too — that he won’t break his son, like how you imagine his inner stewing is saying.

“my love, —.” you recognize that starting tone of his, he’s going to recoil again.

“here,” you interrupt, holding out your arms. “bring him to me. we’ll do it together.”

with the pace of a turtle, kregg wheels the bassinet over while keeping his one good eye trained on the sleeping newborn, acting like he’s made of glass instead of flesh and blood. gingerly, hopeful to not disturb his peace, you take your son into your arms before making room of the mattress for kregg. obediently, he slots himself into the spot next to you, thighs and shoulders touching.

in that moment, he starts to reflect on your earlier words when you caught him staring into the bassinet like a child looking down a wishing well. you won’t break him. he know you don’t know this yet but he was born specifically for breaking.

after a hundred years, the memories grow faded but he can still remember the feeling of his dominant hand sailing through epidermis, nose muscle, skull, brain matter, and back out the other side. he has held creatures bigger than his son and crushed them into juice with a minuscule amount of his strength. if his hands weren’t breaking, they were commanding others to do it — a long chain of violent substitution. how can you be so sure that he won’t —

“kregg. love. you did it.”

blinking away the memories, kregg looks down to the infant you two created held securely and naturally within his arms.

he hadn’t even realized you had handed him over. that could have gone extremely bad. this could still turn extremely bad. he should hand him back over to you —

but then, you’re peppering kisses into his neck and holding his cheek. that alien tenderness which is a foreign language to him is something he’s finally starting to speak.

the Evilustrhater Kwagatama scene is just fractally bad.

The Evilustrhater Kwagatama scene just... sucks. It breaks down on any level of thought. 1-Only Kwami should be giving out kwagatama. (cause its literally the only bit of agency the little slave-gods have). Mari spends this "giving up her Guardian-authority" scene usurping Tikki's authority. (It doesnt matter if we're meant to "reasonably assume" Tikki gave permision for this. It still should've been Tikki handing it over.) 2-It further unbalances the team dynamics, by putting Rena into a position of at least nominal authority to, at some point in the future, take away Chat's ring, should she decide to do so. Ladybug continues to make decisions that effect the entire team, without consulting any members of her team. (Even Rena wasnt consulted on this decision, and has it foisted on her instead. But then, this might be deliberate if we're getting Ladynoir Conflict/Miraculous Civil War)

3-It erodes Alya's relationship with Trixx. At least on a symbolical level. By giving her a Bug kwagatama, before ever giving her a fox one, thus implying symbolically that her relationship with Tikki is better then her relationship with Trixx. 4-simultaniously it erodes the symbolism of the Kwagatama as trust between Kwami and Hero. Mari needed to be a hero for months living with Tiki side-by-side fighting evil on the daily before Tikki gave her a kwagatama. Adrien only got his in Reunion, thats a season 5 episode. Adrien had to die multiple times, faced multiple apocalyptic threats and prevented World War Three before he got a Kwagatama. (put a pin in that one btw, its going to be relevant later). Alya has only used the Ladybug Miraculous once, and that was seemingly enough. 5-It obviously undermines Fu's sacrifice. Setting up a "just own the magic friendship-necklace and you'll get your memories back" reveal immensely undercuts the weight of Fu's amnesia. To be clear, I was always expecting that they'd find some clever loophole to protect Marinette from said amnesia. But having it be a magic necklace that she's had since Season 2? Saying "the problem was solved before it was even introduced" doesn't so much reduce the threat, as it removes the threat entirely. I was at least expecting her to have to train with the Order or something, finish the training Fu never got to learn how to protect herself in advance, maybe a potion from the Book Fu never deciphered in time? or have someone else on the team figure out how to restore her memories after the fact. (IE: Felix could definitly make a "memory-restoring" senti, Maybe a cameo from Liirii "liberating" her from the chains on her memories.) But saying "Oh, you just needed your Kwami to trust you and you wont ever get Fu-ed" is just... shitty. 6- It casually implies that Fu went through not one, but two World Wars as the Turtle wielder, but never managed to earn Wayz' trust. after all, if he did he'd have a Turtle Kwagatama, and the show would've been much different. --Edit cause i somehow forgot 7- Do we really need a third back-up guardian. We already had the guy from Ephemeral, and Luka went to the order to train for that very same position.

Time

"Ready to go?" You asked him, slinging your backpack over your shoulder.

Time sat on the couch, leg crossed over the other as he sipped a cup of coffee. He was dressed in a black turtle neck with darkwash blue jeans. You hated to admit it, (no, you didn't) but he looked good in modern clothes. He was busy trying to figure out the phone you got him two weeks ago. He marveled at the tech but argued that it was a strain to look at for too long.

You didn't blame him. You showed him how to turn on the eye protection filter and how to lower the brightness. But you imagined that he was having a difficult time adjusting his one eye to the new information and light it was being exposed to.

Still, he didn't give up.

It was admirable. It made you smile how willing he was to learn everything just to fit in with your home.

Never let it be said that Link wasn't a champion of hitting the ground running. He was willing to bite down on any challenge big or small.

"Almost," He said softly, finishing his coffee with more speed than you would have recommended.

"Working on something?" You walked over, leaning down to get a good look at what he was reading.

He turned off the phone quickly and shoved it in his pocket. He smirked and spun you around so fast toward the front door that you didn't have the chance to form a sentence. "I have found those stores you mentioned from the crystal screen," He says directly into your ear. "I was merely perusing their stock, that's all."

"Oh no, who showed you Faron?" You groan.

He laughs.

"Link, I'm serious. That is dangerous territory."

"Nothing," He shrugs. "I haven't figured out where the cart is."

"Oh thank the three-"

"Don't look into it though."

"Oh?"

"Nope," He says with a shake of his head. "I'm not telling. Let's go to this movie thing you mentioned. What was it again?"

You raise an eyebrow, not at all impressed with his attempts to distract you. You might need to check your bank account later just in case. "Storytelling. Moving pictures that we can see and hear."

"I'm excited. Let's go!"

Twilight

"Tell me again, how this goes?" Twilight looked at you nervously.

"Link, you're a bonafide country boy. This shouldn't scare you." You tease, putting your hands on your hips. "You've been shot out of canons, turned into a wolf and fought evil incarnate itself. You blew up a bomb shop! This is where you draw the line?"

"This is different, Darlin'."

You took the moment to admire his new outfit. You put in a pair of dark wash Levi's, a red flannel shirt, cowboys boots and a hat to match. But you had taken the hat off and instead set it aside.

He wouldn't need it for what you had planned.

"Look," You smiled at him, the teas sitting on the tip of your tongue. "All you have to do is stay in one place. It'll take care of the rest."

"So how do you stop it?"

"You don't."

Twilight sighed and gave you a long-suffering look. You only smiled wider at him in response. Pushing up the tractor tire with as much strength you could muster, you hit the side of it. "Hop in."

"This is insane." Twilight groaned and maneuvered to get inside the tire. "Something tells me this isn't safe!"

"Where's your sense of adventure?" You accuse, slowly rolling it down the hill you've place it on. "Ready?"

"No."

"Let's go!" You cheered and pushed him away.

As expected the tire began to roll down the hill, gaining speed as it descended. You laughed, chasing it down as it began to bounce. There was a possibility that it would go straight into the lake that was at the bottom but you were sure Twilight was fine.

Twilight was screaming.

Still, that was normal for first time goers.

He had wanted to know what the farmers did for fun. You couldn't resist the temptation to include in the chaos.

Eventually, the tire did bounce directly into the lake. It stopped the rubber in its tracks and you jumped in after it. Within moments, Twilight popped his head over the side, climbing over the tire with a large smile on his face.

"Let's do that again!"

Warrior

"...woah..." Warrior breathed.

You had decided to take him to a LARP'ing scene in the local park.Not because you thought that he would be interested in it, but because you thought that he would lose his mind at seeing something a lot like the time he was from.

It wasn't exactly the renaissance fair. It was far too low budget to come close to that. But it was close enough that it counted.

He would never admit it, too stubborn and headstrong in keeping his decisions, but you could see that he was homesick. Warrior had decided to leave behind everything he knew because he never could bring himself to say goodbye to you.

Knowing that it was one of the most difficult decisions anyone could make, you've tried to make his transition as smooth as possible.

It wasn't remotely smooth.

But again, it was the thought that counted right?

All around you were people who decided to dress centuries out of style. You joined them to fit in the spirit.

Did Warrior know this? No.

You grinned and skipped over to him. He was dressed in his hero gear, just as you requested. You looped your arm in his and kissed his cheek. He couldn't seem to take his eyes off of you. You half expected his eyes to fully bulge out of his head. "Like it? I managed to find enough people to throw this all together."

"...For me?" He whispered, looking around with wet eyes.

"They don't know that." You gestured to the people. "They're just here to have fun and pretend to be someone else. If they do things that are still a little... off, forgive them, won't you? After all they're still very much this time, not yours."

"It looks so real." Warrior gaped. "It's like I stepped back..."

"Home?" You offered quietly, letting his arm go to give him some space to take it all in.

"....yeah..."

Most of it was actually painted carboard that would later be donated to the local theater. But you thought it would be a bit cruel to burst his bubble by mentioning that.

"Hey!" Someone random guy passed you both. "You look awesome dude! Is that real chainmail?"

Warrior quickly wiped his face, giving the passerby his most charming smile. "Why, yes, of course! Had to bring some authenticity to this place!"

"That's sick! Did you make it yourself?"

"Uh.... no. I ordered it."

You snorted, knowing the lie for what it was. "Come on! I heard they're about to start a bon fire! They're going to roast cucco and mutton and someone brought kombucha to purchase."

"I don't know what that is." Warrior smile a bit warily. Said bubble was already on the verge of being popped.

"Fermented mushroom drink. No one is going to want to drink mead, love."

"....That's fair. Let me try it at least. It can't be as bad."

"That's the spirit."

There may even be a point during the year where you feel as if you're guides or the universe or whoever/whatever you believe in isn't listening to you, but the truth is everyone experiences growing pains, and you have to figure out how to persevere and get over your fears the same way everyone else does. As stated before, refusing to grow and transition is not an option, but your attitude as you experience it is a choice you make; you can make it easier or harder on yourself by having an open mind. 

This year, you will be going from being a turtle to a tiger. You will no longer be allowed to take your time in regards to things in your life that are keeping you from growing into someone who is healthier and happier: mentally, physically, emotionally, and everywhere else. You will be stepping into your own power and your attitude will determine if you step into it gracefully or not. Overall, your lesson will be in learning how to free yourself from your own chains.

You will be learning how to wither the storm of seemingly being overlooked and having your ideas of abundance not being given to you how and when you want in exchange for even better and more success to meet you at the end. As is always said, “patience is a virtue”.

Linked Universe x Pokemon

Here's links to Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 of my Linked Universe x Pokemon drawings! Below I decided to write out my reasoning as to why each of the chain got which Pokemon!

After this I'll go back to just drawing again C:

Hyrule

For Hyrule, I knew I wanted him to have a grass type starter, and who better than Bulbasaur! In the anime, the main character’s Bulbasaur would pick up smaller Pokemon and rock them to calm them down, and I though it would be sweet if Hyrule’s Bulbasaur would help the smaller Pokemon cope whenever their trainer does get hurt in battle. (I'm not a fan of Pokemon's turn-based combat, so why not have the Pokemon battle alongside their trainers in this universe >:) Bulbasaur Nature: Jolly

Legend

I wasn’t super sure about my pick for Legend’s Pokemon starter, but the more I thought about the more it made sense for him to have a Scorbunny! A fiery rabbit having a trainer who too is a “fiery” person who happens to be able to turn into a rabbit? That and there was no other connection I could really find with the others :,)

I like the idea that Legend first met Scorbunny when he was turned into a rabbit on his adventure, and the Scorbunny just wouldn’t leave him alone. Since bunny Legend was pretty defenseless in this form, Scorbunny would take the ropes of lead fighter whenever he did turn! Scorbunny Nature: Hasty

Time

Time was also a tough one, as I first wanted a grass starter for him, but none of them were jumping out at me! Then I thought of Samurott’s design and thought “Wow. He looks older and wiser than Time 😭”. Yeah this one doesn’t have as much substance as I’d like but I thought I’d make it work! I’d imagine on most of Time’s adventure Samurott was still just a Dewott, before retiring as an old Samurott.

Would Samurott join Time and the chain on their adventure, or would Time have left the old fella to relax at home with Malon? I can’t decide! Samurott Nature: Serious

Wind

Since Wind’s games are the ones I have the least knowledge on, the choice of Totodile is probably not as well thought out. But just search up Totodile on Google search and look at him! And of course it’s a no-brainer to choose a water starter. I imagine these two having VERY similar personalities, and who wouldn’t want more than one sailor? Totodile Nature: Bold

Sky

Sky was a tough one, especially when considering Crimson and the idea of the residents in Skyloft having Loftwings. To cope with this, I decided to make out that Loftwings themselves are Pokemon that have unfortunately gone extinct (Like an ancient Pokemon).

Since Sky doesn’t bring his Loftwing down below the clouds, I’d imagine he’d miss his Loftwing. What does he do when he sees a small lonely bird that reminds him of Crimson on the floor all alone? Takes care of it of course! That’s what heroes do. Torchic Nature: Gentle

Twilight

Before choosing Infernape for Twilight, I was leaning towards choosing Pignite or Emboar but... I’ll be honest, I didn’t really want to draw either 😭. So! I pivoted to Infernape as my second (now first) choice! I like the idea that Twilight somehow always finds a way to attract impish beings, that being Midna and Chimchar. And I definitely felt I needed a Pokemon that actually had opposable thumbs to ride Wolfie of course! Infernape Nature: Impish

Four

With both Four and Wind, I’m not too knowledged on their games, making their picks probably the weakest (I’ve played only half of Minish Cap). I had an image of the Colours chilling on a giant Torterra in my head, and I just had to draw it. And the idea of the smallest of the chain having the largest starter was amusing to me! So I’ve come to really like this decision. Torterra Nature: Relaxed

Warriors

For Warriors I’d imagine it just being plain luck that Squirtle can evolve into a giant Turtle with cannons on it’s back! How perfect is that for a war? Although Warriors being very serious during the war, and how tragic it must’ve been, I like the idea that Blastoise kept him grounded, shooting him with water whenever he’d work himself up. I’d imagine Blastoise being a Wartortle before the brunt of the war started, and evolving to prove itself to the Captain, finally allowing it to join the fight! Blastoise Nature: Quirky

Wild

A grass starter for Wild just made sense (I mean it’s in the name!). And what better than to choose Decidueye, an owl that can shoot arrows using its own wings as a bow! Like Warriors, I imagine Wild getting Rowlett at a young age, and I thought it’d be cool if Rowlett was the one to lead Wild towards the master sword when he was 12.

He enjoys it if you join him in the meditation room. Due to all your trauma caused by your father, learning how to meditate has become a life saver.

You meditate almost everyday now and it's not uncommon that you join Leo or Leo joins you.

You fill a sort of hole in Leo's heart due. He feels as if he can genuinely move on now without feeling guilty.

Still blames himself for his younger siblings death but he doesn't let it eat him up anymore either.

He'll gift you small things of his younger siblings and you he them dear to your heart.

Please be gentle with him, he's secretly a big ole baby and he loves you very much. :((

Go to the gym with him, he'll absolutely love it. Will teach you his entire workout routine even if you don't do the whole thing.

Will absolutely challenge you to workout challenges. He'll win, but it's still fun.

The first time he mentions his dead sibling around you, it's a slow night.

He's most likely feeling sentimental, maybe has an old photo album out.

He'll speak about them with high praise and a loving tone. He'll explain that one of the reasons why he adores you so much is because of how similar the two of you are.

He'll most likely introduce you to his therapist at some point and you'll definitely be talked about in future sessions.

He feels a sense of peace around you. As if something he lost was returned to him. It's a nice feeling.

Get interested in whatever he's currently building, he'll love it.

He'll ramble for hours about what it is and will even have you come in and help him, your tiny human fingers being better for smaller components.

You two become an iconic duo. Play pranks on the boys and even Master Splinter, whom you eventually come to call Dad/Sensei as well.

He's allowed to stay up as long as he wants but youuuuuu absolutely are not. You need your rest!

He'll also be one of the first ones to take care of you if you get sick.

The first time he mentions his dead sibling, he actually takes you along with him to their grave. Saying he wants to "introduce" you to them.

Will stalk you but you will never know it.

He can't lose his sibling again.

Unlike Leo though, he won't manipulate you. In fact, he'll encourage your trapezing around in the upper world.

It's ok, he has a tracking device on you as well as all sorts of city cameras. You're safe and sound with his ever watchful eye on you.
