A family thing

Jasper Hale/Whitlock x blonde!fem!reader!.

Summary: Where Charlie Swan and his oldest daughter hates Bella's new boyfriend.

Warnings: none, just the reader hating Edward.

Edward was in shock.

The truth was that his relationship with Bella's father was terrible. They couldn't be in the same room because they fought like crazy men, he was always receiving dirty looks for just being with his daughter, and if he could, Charlie would just ignored him until he couldn't anymore. But that didn't seem to be the same with Jasper, who was talking with him animatedly as if nothing was wrong between them. Charlie talked, laughed, and even shake the blonde’s hand as if he had known him all his life and more. And his brother, who didn't pass the opportunity to tease him, looked in his direction with a grin, clearly teasing that he had made it.

“Are you ready, woman?” Bella’s voice was heard from the first floor ”Hurry up! You've been applying lipstick for half an hour!”

“I'm comming, my god,” her sister opened the door to her room amused ”You are worse than a man when it comes to waiting! Jasper has more patient than you!”

But Bella just chuckle, indicating that she was really only doing that to annoy her and not because she wanted to leave quickly. Those dances weren’t her thing anyway, but they were her sister thing considering how much effort she was putting into it. Into it, into her looks, and into smacking her on the back of the head as she passed next to her.

And she had no other choice but to follow, founding the three men on the second floor trying not to laugh at the interaction, where the brothers ended up focusing on something else very quickly. On how the two approached them with pretty dresses, hair and nails done, and calm expressions, where what stood out the most was a glossy lipstick in the blonde’s case and a boot on the brunnette’ left leg.

“Would you look at that” Jasper talked softly to his date “You look beautiful, my love. And with the dress you wanted”

The blonde girl smiled, slightly blushing at his first words, and also excited to note that he remembered what she wanted. Because she had been talking about it for several days with Alice, the creator of the pretty white dress she was wearing, with handmade fabric butterflies in light blue. Although, if he had to be honest, the first thing that crossed his mind when he saw the white tone was the wedding he had planned 100 years ago, when he didn't even know her.

She had him wrapped around her little finger.

Even before meeting her, apparently.

“She made it like I wanted it”

She accepted his hand to go down the last step, letting him twirl her around to appreciate how she looked. They both seemed very much in their own world, but even like that, they could feel the the awkwardness between Charlie and Edward. It was no surprise that she ended up giggling at the scenary, leaning lightly against her date’s chest, looking up and at him like she didn’t care about the rest.

“I'll take care of her, Chief Swan”

Oh, sweet, innocent Edward.

“Yes, sure” the man looked at him ”I've heard that before”

Charlie didn’t like him one bit.

Almost like his oldest daughter.

“We will be leaving” Jasper said with amusement  ”I'll have her safe later on, Charlie”

“That, I do believe”

The blonde sister ended up laughing helplessly, not only at the fact that he let him call him by a nick name, but also about the fact that he believed him about keeping her safe. Which, even if she had no idea of it, was true. Because Jasper was ready to kill anyone if it meant he would save her.

“Oh sweet lord” she look Edward’s way with a smirk ”It's a family thing, buddy. We just don't like you at all”

Edward rolled his eyes but couldn't refute anything, because both -she and Charlie- didn't really seem to like him. Of course, he couldn't say anything, because his brother winked at him in amusement before grabbing his girlfriend's hand and pulling her out of there, preventing them from killing each other before the dance.

“Let's go, pretty girl”

“You never let me go against Edward” she whinned a bit but followed him nontheless “I swear I can take him down, no problem”

“Oh, that I know, honey”

Jasper did knew she could kill his brother.

That’s why he never let her go against him.
