btw I think it's beautiful that Irving's innie was not ready to be loved and that Burt respected that feeling and then they were separated forever, but for their outies it was the other way around; the parallelism of innie Irving saying "I'm not ready yet" and outie Irving literally begging Burt to love him and saying "I'm ready" over and over really makes me think about the fact that love is universal, but it's not something granted, and for some people it just won't happen to experience it in their life. And I think it's even more beautiful that this storyline involved two old men, because it shows that you can be a good person, but still live your whole life without love, and it sucks and it's painful, but maybe something good can still come out of it (they better not end Irving's arc like this or I will vomit and pass out) and i don't have anyone to talk about the brilliance of this show that yes is about corporate greed and the alienation of capitalism but also about how love trascends all and

Sometimes I see people theorize why Hong Lu's ids seem to split into 2 in terms of personality and some of them are really cool theories but I'm pretty sure the actual answer is just his response to his trauma. For ids like dieci and liu (and I'm pretty confident r corp is in this group too, contrary to what some people may think) he represses his emotions to deal with his trauma. Meanwhile for ids like tingtang, fanghunt and kurokumo, he acts violent so he feels like he's in control of what happened to him or something along those lines

Post Marineford spoilers nerds

You guys ever think about how in that small recovery arc after marineford that Luffy was still wearing the same shorts from the battle? Like, Law and the others could have lent him some clothes. Or idfk an old jump suit. Like. I know the pants were red but they would probably be black with the amount of blood that must of soaked those fuckers. His blood, Ace’s, Jimbe’s and the amount of corpses that must have been on the floor.

Do you think they still smelled of smoke, gun powder and blood? Do you think they made Luffy’s flashbacks worse? Do you think seeing his blood soaked yellow vest triggered him? What do you think happened to that outfit? He wasn’t wearing it when he returned to marineford. Maybe he burned it. Like stripping himself of that layer of himself or shedding his skin. Maybe it’s at the bottom of the ocean. A scar he could never rid of not forgotten but buried.
