People who look at fictional CP and defend it are still disgusting. It may not actually harm a child, but it's still getting off to the idea of wanting to take away innocent from an underage kid. Legit tho, if someone finds themselves getting aroused by that, they need HELP. Not further indulge themselves into it. If someone recognizes their problem and attempts to fix it, then you know what, that's fine. They're still a good person.

Imagine how many child trafficking rings we could arrest if people like you cared about actual kids even half as much as you cared about drawings on a paper.

Hello everybody!

We’re all back from last week’s company-wide vacation, and I’m happy to report that our crew are rested and rejuvenated! Sometimes, you just need to block out all the work stuff, no matter how much you enjoy it, and let your creative batteries recharge.

So, now that we’re back – what’s going on?

We are in the They Came From Beyond the Grave! Kickstarter’s final days! We’re closing in on both the pledge totals and number of backers from the They Came From Beneath the Seas!‘s KS, so we could really use your help in spreading the word!

What Did We Discuss At The Meeting Today?

Well, first, we went over what we all did during our week off, and how we were doing after that. Where are our respective head spaces, as it were. But you don’t want to hear about that so much, I’m sure, so here’s the other things we talked about.

Mysteries of the World is #1 on DTRPG! still, which is even more gratifying considering how many PDFs went out to backers as part of the Stretch Goals already!

Related, we discussed our next Kickstarter possibilities and it looks like Scion: Demigod is going to be ready for its KS the first week in September! More words on that these next couple of weeks!

In this series of YouTube vids, Eddy goes step by step through the process of how to create RPG books, so if you are interested in how it all happens, both here at Onyx Path and elsewhere across the TTRPG industry, these are invaluable.

Also, while doing these, Eddy has also been running a series of development and project management workshops for our writers and developers. These came directly out of our Developer Town Halls we held all through the first months of Covid-19, and the many requests he had from our developers. So far, Eddy has done some group sessions, and some individual mentoring, and the responses have been fantastic!

I think Covid-19 has hit a lot of creative people hard and even the most driven creators have been hammered in their productivity, so this is us helping folks get back on to getting things done.

(I used two forms of get in a single sentence there. My old HS English teacher T.J. McCauley, who warned us never to use “get” because there is always a better word, must be spinning in his grave.)

Time continues to show that Covid-19 has also affected some of our partners. On sale to the public this week on DTRPG is the PDF and PoD versions of Heroic Land-Dwellers! for They Came From Beneath the Sea!, but the PDF went out to backers in May. Getting the PoD version ready and printed and proofed has just dragged on.

Similarly, our Screen printer has been hard hit, but is persevering slowly. So even though we have KS books almost ready to send as rewards, we still need to have the Screens to ship them all together and that’s been a slower cycle than it has in the past.

But, refreshed now from our week of Not Work, we’re back and rarin’ to go! Ready to tackle these challenges and get our projects through the stages to get to you. Ready to once again pull together all the many threads that go into weaving our tapestry of gaming goodness featuring our:

Our dev team has been doing updates since we launched based on the excellent use-case comments by our community, and this thing is awesome! (Seriously, you need to roll 100 dice for Exalted? Today’s Reason to Celebrate!

Eight (8) years ago today we held our first “What Is the Onyx Path?” panel at Gen Con, announcing our company and our slate of releases for that coming year. Most of which have been released by now!

What are like the major aspects, hard aspects, and preferable aspects?? Like for EXAMPLE conjuct is like major or something, cus im tryna learn.. sorry for my dumbass 😂😂😅

You’re not a dumbass! Wanting to learn is admirable most people in our society don’t reach out to make themselves aware and you did! I think that’s pretty intelligent to me :)

As for preferable aspects? Eh honestly any are preferable. Some aspects are hard I won’t lie. Some suck and some are a bit to overwhelming but all aspects are like this even text book good ones :/ it really is about the person and how they use the energy they’ve been given! I’ve met a Leo who only had squares to most of his planets and he was one of the most charming and competent men I’ve met; did he have issues? Of course but he made the best with what he had been given.

As for major aspects id say anything that hits your personal planets via trine/conjunct/square/inconjcunt are biggies. And inconjcunts are felt heavier when they are within 0-3 orbs Conjuncts id go with 0-8 orbs trine id go anywhere from 0-5 to 0-7 and squares? I’d say 0-8 orbs as well since they’re a heavy tension that’s super hard to ignore.

•moon aspects to generational planets can make emotions(heavier) tend to place an inherited maturity about them and can make it harder to relate emotionally to a younger audience of people.•moon aspects to personal planets can lead to issues with emotional maturity and may have themes that require growth and or acceptance of past trauma or hurt that hinders the expression of said planet/while positive ones show an easier harmonious flow but still show something to be “grown” into. •sun aspects to generational planets tend to create an older touch to an individual and can show a tug between being free and the burden of responsibility. Reality vs creativity. •sun aspects to personal planets tend to have an easier flow and even in hard aspects can still show an ease with connecting ones playful ego with their creativity.•Venus in aspect to generational planets tends to crave a more mature and stable love something that last and tend to unconsciously be drawn to healing their past karma and may constantly run into lovers from their past lives. Love life’s are filled with a fated feeling •Venus in aspect to personal planets tend to be more youthful in love! Love isn’t seen to heavily here and is more of a happier and more experimental thing. There can be many relationships and may tend to jump from relationship to relationship frequently(not in a promiscuous way) but you tend to be learners and have fresh karma in this life to experience love in a freer way! You’re meeting your lovers for the first time.•mars in aspect to generational aspect tend to have ancient instincts(your reactions seem based on previous experience) can have hidden talents and inner prowesses unknown to you. Sex is seen as a more serious act and is taken on with caution good or bad aspect. Can be a seriousness with the physical body and may tend to be skilled beyond measure in the talents associated with your mars sign. I’ve noticed many to be secretly very physically capable in martial arts or combat/medicine/surgery and so on•mars in an aspect to personal planets can be erratic/impulsive and spontaneous! Emotions can get in the way of emotions and passionate can overrun the mind. Things are done and felt instead of thought. Can be more inclined to make your own destiny and carve out your own place in the world. Unnerving and unwavering souls. Willful and may take some time to see the importance of sex. May also be very electric.

Aspects between generational aspects can be spanned across those born in the years near you and this can be the same with personal aspects so at times a specific energy of an aspect can be prevalent.

Ex: my generation is Pluto in Sagittarius so many Aries/Leo/Sagittarius have their sun in aspect to Pluto and tend to be intense and more mysterious then Aries/Leo and Sagittarius whom may have come before. And pluto is trine my Aries moon and many people in my generation whom have fire signs in a planet will have Plutos energy surrounding them.

Lastly harsh aspects Really anything as I said can he considers this but I think ones that require the most out of a person are

•Venus square Saturn:a heavy burden in love and can show struggles with self worth and opening up to another soul. These people come into this life with the burden of loss and can project this fear on those whom they love. May be cold and aloof to those they love but cheery and easy going to those whom they don’t which can confuse their lovers(why do you act like you hate me) need to learn how to let their walks down and trust. Need to learn how to not only love another but allow themselves to be loved.

•Uranus in the 8th: these natives unlike most 8th house placements don’t have to learn how to separate from their feelings they actually need to learn how to align with them. Their can be complete emotional dissociation and can be hard to sympathize and or show compassion to their feelings. Tend to isolate themselves from pain and can grow numb due to pushing emotions to the wayside. One of the most emotionally receptive and sensitive people but tend to struggle showing this energy. Need to learn to cry. Need to learn to feel and allow themselves to feel. Don’t just be curious about your emotions-experience them. Stop looking at yourself from the outside looking in.

•sun/moon/Venus/ in the 10th house. There is a heavy focus on the image and structure and how it relates to the planets involved. The ego(sun) can be neglected for the sake of being seen as above and “formidable” when in reality the nature could feel robbed of creative and joy in life at the expense of others. The emotions can be cast away(moon) for the sake of being seen as “stable” for the sake of being able to help others at the cost of your own needs. The affections can be seen as a burden(Venus) at the expense of being seen as"peaceful and welcoming" for the sake of making everyone else feel loved and looked after at the expense of your own fragile heart.

Fire placements in water houses: can dilute the more passionate and impulsive urges of the fire and can create a mists. This can cause confusion in ones motives and make it hard in terms of determining ones direction as the passions sometimes don’t lie in the place of the emotions in question. •lastly I think Virgo moon/Capricorn moon/Scorpio moon/Aquarius moons(ic as well)are the toughest positions Virgo-due to the fluctuating mind that never stops running and the emotions that are rooted in scrutiny of not only others but themselves(they emotionally never see themselves to be up to par) can be extremely sensitive and giving and desire nothing more then to be of service and can feel worthless when they’re not.( please ease up on yourselves! You’re so beautiful and so sweet and you just realize that if someone doesn’t want to be helped it’s not your fault and it’s also not your duty to wipe everyone’s ass)

Capricorn- due to the rigid emotions. The emotions that never get to see the light of day. The late nights of tears and the emotional deprivation. These natives can be so hard on themselves and really try to remain emotionally stable at all cost. Because of this they often grow up insanely quick and can have a harsh outlook on the more tender sides of sentimentality. (It’s okay to smile and not feel so guilty about it! It’s okay to want to be touched and be held! Saturn isn’t watching I promise)

Scorpio-due to the powerful emotions that engulf them in the iciest and most silent cool. The rigidness of their hearts and the unforgiving and un relenting purging. The intense emotions and the black or white decisions.(please open your hearts to another-please don’t expect anything in return. Not everything in this world has a price. Aquarius-due to the confusion. The uncertainty and the limitless pit of emotional insecurity. The alienation from your own sadness and your own emotional state. The longing to connect and understand the more sympathetic and sensitive aspects of human nature. Endlessly engaged and curious but painfully unable to express it yourself. The harsh analyzation and deprivation of feel. Saturn and Uranus reek havoc here and as amazing as I think Aquarius moons are I do believe they have a wildly difficult emotional landscape that no mere soul could dare to understand.

Lastly I think Lilith in the 4th house and 12th house are pretty harsh

Lilith in the 4th can point to a darker emotional state and show a inability to connect to family on an emotional level. May never really feel at home and grow up in a Plutonian and Lilith themed house hold(women in the family can be overbearing and may have experienced rape/domination/rebirth/venom) in their lives and may tend to have toxic relationships with men that rub of on you. Can be emotionally powerful but can also be emotionally overwhelming for others! The great thing here though is marriages usually end up great and husbands/spouses are extremely loyal and loving and these natives are great parents but can be poisonous and domineering and may even detach from the child once they start growing(since there is a fear here of being left behind) can have a mother hen energy and when these individuals are upset or going through something the family and lovers and even friends of these people will also be in a sour mood. As is the effect here your emotions are strong and can can affect the surroundings good or bad.

Lilith in the 12th house natives can be drifters and spirits whom wander then human world. They are immensely sensitive and are so fragile and because of this due to the nature of the world we live in and(it’s not exactly perfect :/) these individuals tend to shut of their more sensitive nature and can be practically aloof and disengaged from the emotional experience of life and can lose themselves in their minds which they tend to use to cope with this harsh world. Sex can be used to escape and become an addiction here. Unhealthy relationships can become addicting. Drugs can become addicting.unhealthy coping can become addicting. They are easily influenced and can be easily seduced into bad situations. Their psyche is Situational based and they tend to be most themselves when they are with someone whom they trust or feel safe with(family/lover/friends or themselves) and at times they never really feel safe. The positive here is they are otherworldly and capable of reaching the most divine of feelings and energies once they open themselves to it. Tend to struggle with “holding on”

Overall no aspects are bad but there are some like I mentioned above that just need to have more care taken by the individual!

But hope this helps a bit it doesn’t cover everything but these are some basics!

The Art of the Interview

Readers, I don’t have to tell you that the job market is a veritable bear pit at the moment. I have been looking for a few small part-time roles to supplement my meagre Editor’s income and my fabulous inherited wealth – it has been far more challenging than I ever bothered to imagine.

Below is a case in point: a transcript of my interview for the role of Chief Executive Officer of the United Nations (Cliveden Branch) with a revolting bean-counter from HR named Claire Whitworth.

Read for yourself and you will clearly see that I have been the victim of discrimination, my sterling application and obvious experience (my credentials glow like a Category 4 radiation hazard) dismissed purely on the grounds that I have spent much of my life antagonising the UN and opposing everything they stand for. I mean, how short-sighted is that?

I have secured this largely undoctored transcript as evidence in my upcoming civil litigation. Failing that, I’ll bring every defamation or sexual harassment suit conceivable until all avenues for costly and petty legal revenge have been exhausted.

Ms Whitworth can’t now pretend I didn’t warn her of my dogged persistence.

CW: Hello, are you here for the interview? [stands and attempts to shake RM’s hand]

RM: I am here for an interview, certainly. Hello.

CW: Excellent. Well, as I’m sure you’ve seen from the role profile, we are looking for a postal room operative to sort mail within the organisation. For such a prestigious international body, our communications needs are-

RM: I’m here for the role of Chief Executive Officer.

CW: I beg your… There must be- we advertised for a job in the mail room.

RM: I understand that, although I made some further inquiries. I had a robust exchange of views with someone called Janet. Once she had pulled herself together I believe she agreed with my line of reasoning.

CW: Janet? My secretary?

RM: Perhaps. Yes. Janet.

CW: Is that why she’s been on leave?

RM: How could I possibly know that?

CW: …And why she’s been seeking voluntary redundancy?

RM: Are these interview questions?

CW: …

RM: As I said, there was a ‘robust exchange of views’. As a consequence, it was agreed that my interview would be for the role of CEO and not for the mail room in the UN’s Cliveden branch.

CW: …But we aren’t interviewing for a Chief Executive.

RM: The key, I felt, was getting my foot in the door.

CW: But we already have a Chief Executive.

RM: Once your foot’s in the door, and you can withstand a few shattered metatarsals, the game’s more or less over. That’s also the key to effective burglary.

CW: Right.

RM: I’m dogged and persistent. And not always at burglary. In all areas of my professional practice. Also, in terms of my personal qualities, I am very humble. Aggressively humble.

CW: Is that a good thing? Is that even possible?

RM: Also, I’m an autodidact. Remarkable really, considering how untrustworthy my teacher was.

CW: ...Leaving aside your personal qualities, where have you worked previously? [Leafing through papers] I’m sorry, I’m struggling to read your CV, it’s so bright.

RM: That will be the gold leaf. I thought an illuminated manuscript would be more eye-catching.

CW: …Is this vellum?

RM: Calfskin. I told you I was aggressively humble. Anyway, to answer your question, I am currently the Editor of a notorious if underappreciated publication called the Panic Office. Our key remit is delivering bold and authoritative proclamations to which people pay very little attention in their day-to-day lives. The parallels with the United Nations are clear, even uncanny.

CW: [The inarguable proficiency of RM’s answer has impressed her into stunned silence]

RM: I also have considerable experience of war crimes.

CW: In… what capacity?

RM: Usually as the perpetrator but rarely prosecuted. It’s such a hard thing to prove. But this is vital experience I would bring to the UN. It’s important to know your enemy. Or, in some cases, be your enemy.

CW: Hm.

RM: In fact, if you were to bring me on board, it stands to reason that the number of global atrocities committed per year would drop sharply. By around a third, I’d imagine – I’ve got my fingers in a lot of pies.

CW: …Pies?

RM: Exploitation pies, yes. I’m speaking metaphorically. Though not about the exploitation. The pies are the metaphor. Anyway, to continue my employment history, my first role was as a British ambassador to Monrovia, charged with command over the peacekeeping efforts…

CW: [Sitting up] Oh yes?

RM: Yes. Wasn’t very good at that. Then I took a sideways move into Exxon Mobil, harvesting Liberia for oil. The year was 1992…

RM: …I was also the Maharajah of Pataudi for a time, though that was really more a hobby than a formal job role. I suppose that also answers the question about my outside interests, in case you were going to ask. Do you need more

CW: No. No. That was… thorough. Very.

RM: Thoroughness is my watchword. My systematic purges of the Panic Office staff rely on my commitment to thoroughness.

CW: Good. That’s good. It… it feels a bit redundant now but… do you have any questions for us?

RM: [For the purposes of the transcript, RM produces a cache of documents, hereafter referred to as “the dossier”] Yes.

CW: Oh. Okay.

RM: [Consulting the dossier] Why do you think you would make a good employee?

CW: I… me?

RM: Yes, when I’m CEO. Why would you be a good employee under me? Or would you be an abject failure? Take your time. But not too much time.

CW: …

RM: Give examples.
