not really a request just a moment of appreciation for last son of krypton meets hypertime kon bc it’s been a while since i saw anyone talk about it… “last of their kind discovers they’re not alone” is ALWAYS my cup of tea and compounded by kon knowing so much more about clark in all the wrong ways. mwa. incredible . hope you’re doing well :]

I just love that concept so muuuuuch, man. You're the only one! And then you're NOT the only one!! And you've maybe never really been alone, you've always had your family as far back as you can remember, but you had a DIFFERENT family once; you came from somewhere ELSE and no one else can tell you anything about it, every connection to it is GONE, and then suddenly you meet somebody else who's even a LITTLE bit of connection to that place, who knows even a LITTLE bit of what it's like to be what you are? That's such a THING, man! That is such a CONCEPT and an EXPERIENCE!!

Also, that somebody has BAGGAGE, and, uh, interdimensionally speaking it might kinda be at least parrrrrtially your fault . . . ?

It makes me so excited to know this series is bingeable, lol. When I started writing it, I only had the intention of the first three stories with a possible prologue if I felt brave enough (Birth Certificate, Finders Keepers, Picket Fence OG, and Chart a Course), so the fact that it's expanded into so much more than that feels surreal at times. I'm glad that it feels cohesive enough to enjoy all together when it was written so out of sequence!

Anyway, thank you so much for reading all of it and for taking the time to find my Tumblr and let me know how much you enjoy this series! I really appreciate it more than you know, and happy to have you around :D

I hope you've found a couple of the Tumblr-exclusive snippets, too! There's a few that I just haven't put on AO3 yet or just don't feel fleshed out enough to be fics, but they should be on my pinned post! mechanical crew headcanons.

jay is really good with physically building stuff and designing machines but struggles really badly with software and coding and phones and such

nya is is good with software and such but finds it tedious and much rather just get her hands dirty and build something awesome. her design notes are always random and illegible. (when working on something together pixal is constantly asking her "what did you mean by this")

pixal really enjoys all parts of the process. she finds people confusing and frusterating. but she understands machines and code. i think its very meditative for her and she loves to find out new ways to solve problems. she likes to make cool badass shit for herself and her friends! i think she also is really into the coding and software part because it feels almost like a first language to her.

zane could fix himself the way an average person can attend to their own minor wounds and he can follow instructions from the others when it comes to building but outside of a crisis he is suprisingly not that good with machinery besides himself

Okay @humanityinahandbag made a great point in their post here. I’ll just drop quick quote which was:

To anyone in need of an on-fire goat, I’ve got you covered in miniature. Thanks again to @un-pearable for the crochet pattern.

Before and after photos and commentary under the cut.

Wishing you all the good luck a tiny burning goat can provide!

Man this thing was hard to burn! Even using twine made of essentially grass and stuffing it very loosely with very flammable paper it was hard to get lit and hard to keep alight.

My tips for anyone interested are:

- airflow is your friend! Crochet with very loose tension and don’t overstuff. Maybe have a hairdryer on hand for a bellows

- also, pre-warm your goat. He burnt much better once he warmed up

- maybe try busting a hole through the neck into the body too, that would help with airflow and heat transfer

- wicks are important! Use a twine with flyaway hairs and find a product for the decorative red that catches easily but burns away slowly. I used cotton string and it did not cut it

- where you light matters, I recommend mid horns, end of tail and chin above beard

- fire safety! Make sure you’re lighting your goat away from dangers of creating a bushfire, your goat might be less opposed to this burning thing than mine. Be safe and have water on hand. Make sure your goat is really extinguished afterwards, I put mine in a sink full of water because he was determined to smoulder. Check your goat burning area for stray sparks and embers too!
