It's the evening before the US election, so. Hi.

I try to not focus too much on real-world events on here (because this is my fandom blog and a space away from the shit the world goes through daily), but I'm gonna break from that for a bit and cast my two cents:

If you live in the US and you're able to vote, please vote, and vote for Harris, and as blue as you can get. She's not perfect, of-fucking-course, but, realistically, it's her or Trump.

Voting third party, as nice a concept as it is, isn't going to do shit. Our electoral system isn't set up like that.

Abstaining isn't going to do shit. That's practically a vote for Trump, and, if he wins, we maybe/probably won't have another election. He wants a dictatorship. He wants fascism. He wants to get rid of/kill anyone he doesn't like-- which is a hell of a lot of us.

Harris has shown that she does care about us minority groups, and is willing to work to create a ceasefire/an end to the war in Gaza and on Palestinians. That's more than can be said about Trump.

(Yes, she's shown support for Israel. At this point, whatever. It may be performative to get people like that on her side. It may not be. Point is that she's still shown support for Palestine. Get it? Got it? Good.)

(This is not to say I'm not grumpy about it. This is to say that she's not perfect and we still have work to do. Voting Harris in instead of Trump will let us do that.)

The parties are not the same. It's normal fucking life versus fascism. It's a chance at a better country versus a dude who would kill people like me-- like a lot of us-- for not being straight, cis, or either, or anything less than showing total nationalism.

So suck it up and vote for Harris.
