In the fanfics I wish I’d saved there was one that was Leni Riefenstahl / Peter O’Toole.
This was at least 15 years ago, I’ve looked. This was a glorious theme of “yes but we must make the art” and also the crushing countdown of being the new favourite and the handsome boy.
It flickered through my mind when I briefly thought about Justin Bieber / Diane Keaton because the Ghost video popped up on YouTube.

The only person who is spiritually smart is the one who has learned how to learn, unlearn, and change directions instantly, and start all over again, if your soul calls for it.

"The will to change belongs to intelligent people. The unconscious governs our lives, and the unconscious is shaped by our beliefs, many of which are false, even though we present them as true. Having an attitude of openness towards everything puts us in a better position to continue growing."
Keynes: "The most difficult thing in the world is not for people to accept new ideas, but to forget the old ones."
Goethe: "Beware of what you learn, for you cannot unsee it. Being open to 'unlearning' is absolutely essential for true learning to take place. Often, what we think we know is what actually prevents us from learning."
Bertrand A. W. Russell, British philosopher, mathematician, logician, and writer, Nobel Prize in Literature.

Practice mental stillness in silence, where nothing is attempted and where nothing is avoided. You are only engaging your mind to be still so that it may learn to respond upon its own to that which calls to it.

The human journey is about LEARN and UNLEARN
At various parts of our human journey, we have to learn and focus on different things. Sometimes, we even have to unlearn what used to serve us.
For instance, when we were kids, we were taught to obey authority, such as our parents and teachers. We might even be subjected to some merit and reward systems that reinforced us to behave in certain ways. If we were under the guidance of good teachers and caring parents, the teachings—in other words, the "programs"—that we received from them could serve us well, as we were encouraged to gain knowledge and learn important values from them.
However, when we get older, this kind of programming can push us to blindly obey authorities, resulting in harmful situations for both ourselves and the people around us. In history, there were many cases where people followed orders from authorities that had detrimental effects. For example, East German border guards were commanded to shoot people who tried to escape East Germany. Not only were the people who got shot killed, but some guards were charged with homicide and sentenced to prison after Germany was reunited.
Therefore, as we progress in our human journey, it is important to review what we have learnt and been programmed before, and determine whether it still benefits us or if it's time to let go of it.
