i come to you with another excerpt from the [untitled pool project]
Nick grabs Taylor’s hand, “Good game, mate.”  The grip of Nick’s hand sends a shock through Taylor’s arm. He’s not ready to walk away, not yet. “I’m just warming up, what do you say? Another game?” Nick furrows his brow, “You should really walk away while you still have your dignity.”  Taylor scoffs, “How 'bout a bet?” “A bet?”

Untitled Jack Abbot WIP
Tumblr media
Content: Jack Abbot x F!Reader, Jack Abbot x Shy!reader, (20's reader & Late 40's Jack), eye contact in a bar. Author's Note: Forcing myself to post this even though it's unedited & un-betaed (I'm feeling insane). I fear who I will become if I don't finish this tomorrow and post the whole thing. Please be gentle it has been genuinely so long since I've wanted to write and I'm so excited to write about this old man!!!!!!!!!! Going insane, c u 2morrow!!!!!
You were never the kind of person who could sit at a bar alone.  You were never attracted to the dim light, sticky countertops, and endless top 20 hits. You weren’t built for that, but tonight, tonight- you were going to sit on the very far end of the dingey dive a block and a half away from your apartment, and you were going to nurse a lukewarm shitty cocktail as long as you wanted. You were going to finally stop putting everything on hold, and you were going to re-join society.
Jesus Christ. Please get it together.
You were a grown woman, who had accomplished things, you don’t live with your parents, you pay your own bills, you generally try your best to take care of yourself. The only thing you couldn’t seem to figure out is your job. The repetitive cycle of waking up, spending 8 hours a day mindlessly droning through work, being too tired to move, going to bed, and repeating again was unbearable. So, one random Friday morning, with too little in your savings account and even less left of your soul, you decided enough was enough.
There wouldn’t be any more morning chats by the coffee maker, useless one-on-ones with management, or special projects dumped on your plate. You were done. And it wasn’t the lingering fear of your own impulsivity or failure that greeted you when you walked home that night, it was the realization you had nothing else to show for yourself.
There were no boyfriends to come home to, or kids to raise, or really anyone to call except for a few old college buddies that were nudging you to get yourself out there for months. The reality was finally dawning, you had put your entire life on hold for a job, and it hadn’t given you anything in return.
So here you were, half-exhausted, half-terrified, begging the universe for a second chance to shape yourself into something. The stale lifeless reflection staring back was not the picture of happiness you were hoping would follow you home that afternoon but, rather than wallowing in your own mistakes, you decide to go out.
The walk to the bar had been nothing short of rejuvenating. The dulcet sense of your own freedom grounded the moment. Sunshine setting on your face reminded you of summer breezes flitting by and warm evenings under the stars. It had been years since you had allowed yourself this pleasure. It was a firm anchor; the golden cast made the world vibrant again. You couldn’t help but stop for a moment, pressed against the brick facade on the corner of your street to feel the pulse of the city around you. Nothing seemed to move until the sun was tucked behind the tree line
The bar itself is something that had never really tempted you before that night. The music always skewed a little too country for your liking, and the patrons always seemed to be on the wrong side of leering versus gawking. There was a clear view of a pool table in the back and the dark wood seemed to match the deep whiskey bottles that lined the back of the bar. At least, that’s what you could tell from the few moments the door was left just open enough for you to peek in when passing by.
Now though, now you had an unabashed view of the entire bar, and it was enough to remind you why you’re not usually in places like this. The crowd itself wasn’t too dense for a Friday, but you could tell it would only grow as the night went on. There were patrons scattered around, some sitting in booths exchanging stories of their weeks, others leering from dark corners. You scanned the room quickly, opting for a seat on the closer end of the bar, right against the wall. Completely isolated, a little pocket of stillness, you settled in for a night of true transformation.
-----------
It wasn’t long before you realized you were probably a little in over your head. The thing about going out is, you’re sort of stuck with yourself when you get there. Your brain supplies the helpful commentary.
After sipping on a drink for a little over twenty minutes it was starting to feel like you were waiting on something to happen, that wasn’t going to happen. There wasn’t going to be a divine intervention nor was God going to part the crowd and hand you over the ideal life. You had hoped maybe someone would sit within three seats of you, or perhaps you’d get a chatty bartender. There had been no such luck, and you wondered if you were the person making everyone else feel weird.
Had the doe-like naivety and melancholy so damaged your persona that people physically recoiled from your space? A million thoughts run through your head, and the ever-mounting urge to run home with your tail tucked between your legs only grows. As the clock struck eight behind the bar, more people wander in. A steady crowd from the area seem to flock to the scene of your shame.
“Want another?” The bartender asks. It’s really a simple question, and this poor guy is really just trying to do his job. Frankly you really think you shouldn’t but just on the other side of the bar something catches your eye.
A man settles in your direct line of sight. A very attractive man. A very attractive, older man, who is definitely watching you. You feel your jaw go slack and your back straighten like you were alert to the danger lurking. Your eyes darted to meet his, then away, then back again in a cycle of curiosity and embarrassment. The man only smirked. Fuck me.
“Another round?” The bartender asks again. This time, you don’t even try to say anything, you just nod dumbly. You knew you were out of practice, but you weren’t expecting to be so bothered by a stranger just looking at you. You let your eyes peel from the bar top in front of you to settle on his again.
Even in the smoked room you can feel the depth of his gaze. He wasn’t staring at you, he was devouring you. You couldn’t remember the last time someone had even wanted to talk for longer than twenty minutes, let alone devour you. Hell, you’re not sure if anyone had ever wanted that in the first place.
He seemed to enjoy the way you squirm under his watchful eye. He takes a sip of his beer slowly. Where the hell has this guy been? He’s gruff, the stubble tracing his cheeks only accentuate the sharp lines of his Jaw. You feel your thighs press together, imagining the tender sting that he could make between them. He sits at the bar like he was made for it, and when he gives you his attention, you’re glued to it.
This man is a stranger. It’s meant to be a warning, a moment to pause and reconsider if that second drink was worth it. To turn back while you can, because you know if this man comes over, you’ll be going home with him.
And yet, it has the opposite effect. This man, this stranger, has you more interested than any of your past partners had. The heat that had begun with small licks to the back of your neck were sweeping through your stomach and settling in for the night.
It's unlike anything you had ever experienced. It can’t compare to past exploits of half-interested fraternity brothers or the safe friend of a friend, it’s a wholly new sensation. It’s carnal, the need that floats to the surface. Years of pushing down the most basic desperation in favor of practicality suddenly shoots to the surface. You smile to yourself; this might be the most exciting thing you’ve done in years.
You feel him before you see him. He’s stalking you from across the bar, closing the distance easily. You can’t help but lean against the wall to steady you, but his presence alone is calm and clear. His confidence revealing a predation, a swagger that comes when the cat gets the canary.
“What’s a girl like you doing in a place like this?” He asks, a boyish smile racking across his face. The line hits you in your stomach, because what the fuck? You let out a laugh, and it wasn’t even that funny, but the shock settles in. You feel your shoulders drop and the moment relaxes. He tilts his head to look at you, and from this angle you can see the hazel flecks in the bar light.
“Ok, maybe too cheesy.” He concedes, accepting it with a lightness that drips with charm. The blood rushing through to your head drops away all at once. What is he so handsome for?
“Not too cheesy.” You peek up at him through your lashes, thanking your younger-self for fleeting interest in Vogue advice columns. “And for the record, I’m not usually in a place like this.” He watches with vested interest, as you gesture to the bar’s surroundings.
“Well, I’m lucky. I caught you passing through.” He lets his eyes rake downwards without shame, and it leaves you twisting your legs tighter to keep your legs from dropping open.
“What’s your name?” He asks, and hums it to himself when you finally manage to get it out.
“I’m Jack.”

LOST TRAVELERS INFORMATIONAL GUIDE
Q: What is A Fest?
A fest is a challenge in which participants choose a prompt or prompts from a list compiled by the fest moderator. It’s like telling tales, sharing art, and making music around the campfire.
Q: Do I have to answer all the prompts?
Of course not, Traveler! That’d be a lot of work! You can answer as many prompts as you want over as many days as you want. You can submit a single work for a single prompt during the whole week, or try to hit them all.
Q: Do I have to write for this?
Traveler, we aren’t all tale spinners and that’s a good thing! You can respond in any medium you want, art, fic, pod fic, playlists, or anything else you can think of is fine!
Q: If I do write, is there a word limit?
Nope.
Q: Is shipping allowed?
Yes.
Q: Are spoilers okay here?
Did they not cover that in training? Traveler, spoilers are fine as long as you tag for it.
Q: What does “open prompt” for Day 7 mean?
The sky’s the limit on open prompt day! You can submit anything you want, as long as it complies with the rest of the rules.
Q: I'm ready to submit! When can I do that?
During the submission period from March 2nd - March 8th on each prompts day. You can also submit any prompts during the late submission period from March 9th - March 15th.
Q: Right. How do I submit?
We're retiring the submission feature, that’s for sure. When you're ready to post just post on your blog and @ the event blog somewhere in the post. We will reblog posts in the order they were received.
Q: I have another question.
That’s why there’s an ask button, Traveler.

Jeff Satur Cinematic Universe & The Locked Tomb Series - Tamsyn Muir, rated M
Moonshine was the cavalier primary to Sunshine, Third Saint to serve the King Undying. It is unclear whether this was his given name, or how Sunshine has memorialized him after death. Sunshine calls him ‘an Alexandrite’, referring to the branch of Sixth House cavaliers whose attractiveness and skill earned them an education in erotic poetry and a Cohort assignment, for the express purpose of finding a mate to diversify the ailing Sixth House gene pool.
Given Sunshine’s sense of humor, it is possible this was a joke.

Untitled Secret Project
Here lies our Dramione fanfiction.
Summary
Teachers at Hogwarts (7 years after the war)
In Hermione Granger's third year teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts, Draco Malfoy enters his first year teaching Potions. They squabble and can't get along, alerting the attention of Minerva McGonagall. To help restore peace and order in the castle, she insists they work together and get to know each other. As a play to improve his reputation and assure wary students, Malfoy is enlisted to co-sponsor Hermione’s Muggle Studies club.
Chapter One: A Wary Welcome
“How can I be sure I am making the correct decision, Albus?”, Minerva fluidly paces in front of the portrait of Albus Dumbledore.
“Well, you cannot be. Decisions are about trust and vulnerability. That is why they are the hardest thing to make. The question is now, do you trust yourself enough?”, the portrait replied, his voice wispy with decades of wisdom.
“I trusted myself when I made this very decision two years ago. And the year following. This time I am trusting him. And, I am trusting Horace”.
Minerva McGonagall stood in the headmistress’ office. The portrait of her late colleague hung proudly on the wall, the glimmering gold frame often catching her eye from her desk. Oftentimes she found herself wandering towards this corner of her office, seeking solace from her past friend. It sometimes seemed like the gold shone brighter than the frames surrounding him, drawing her attention in grief.
Is she betraying him now, inviting the person who compromised Hogwarts security, and illustrated the demise of one of the most powerful wizards of all time, back into the wards of this ancient school, still freshly refurbished from the damage of the battle. The attack that was only possible due to this very person.
She thinks back to her conversation with Horace just weeks ago.
She could not say she was surprised when two years ago Horace Slughorn sat her down to discuss his second retirement plans. She knew he only came back to the potions position at the strong request of Dumbledore. After 11 years of his second run in the classroom, and having the threat of Voldemort’s eyes removed, he was ready to leave the castle again.
Minerva felt the weight of choosing a new professor on her shoulders, feeding her determination to fill the position with a thoroughly qualified witch or wizard. Hogwarts has been a great school for centuries. Her position as headmistress required her to be cautious with her decisions, so that everything she did ensured the success of the school. Her students deserved to be taught by the best minds of their time, masters of their subjects.
Disappointingly, her expectations seemed to be a great feat for the pool of candidates. Both potions professors in the two years following Horace’s leave proved to be wrong fits. Frustrated in her third attempt, she requested a meeting with Horace to seek new contenders.
She sat a cup of tea down in front of the balding man she’d spent so many years with, the buttons on his waist coast straining towards the wood of the table.
“As you know, I have had quite the trouble trying to replace your seat in the castle. I imagine since you were the best fit for the job, you may have some insight on who else may live up to the challenge,” Minerva enthused as she took a sip from her own cup. She was well aware of what flattery could do for her old colleague, always looking to satiate his vanity. “I remember your attention for the gifted. Do you recall any students who have graduated in recent years with exempleramy marks, for whom you would see a good fit? Besides our own Hermione Granger of course,” She questions, sneaking in a prideful gleam in the end.
“Well, wherever Hermione Granger stood in marks and exemplary, you always only had to look a couple steps behind to find Draco Malfoy. I’d say one of the most talented students in potions I’ve taught. Had a knack for it, a natural talent, it seemed. Although he also had a natural talent for disrupting my classroom. Always fighting for attention and picking on Miss Granger and her friends,” Slughorn returned with a chuckle.
The teacup paused briefly on the way to her lips at the surprise of hearing that name. “Mr. Malfoy? I remember his academic prowess, but I do not recall him being a part of your club. If he was so exemplary, why would he not have received an invitation?” Minerva eyed suspiciously over the rim of her cup.
Slughorn’s jovial demeanor faltered briefly with nerves. “Well, you know, when his father was a student he had much of the same talent for potions, naturally I invited him to the SlugClub. But, seeing what he grew up to be, and what he went on to do…”, his voice trailed off distractedly. “I saw so much of his father in him, like a perfect duplicate. I was afraid to get caught up in the wrong people again, you understand.”
Minerva regarded his explanation warily. She had seen what Horace was referring to in Mr. Malfoy through the years. She had never expected Draco to follow in his father’s footsteps so closely, and so quickly. Learning he took the dark mark at just 16 years old had filled her with something akin to pity. To know he cemented his place in a world he had yet to explore.
Minerva had not been keen to bring Draco Malfoy back into the place he had put in so much danger just seven years ago. But she was not ignorant to the change people can be capable of. She had seen many wizards experience a change of heart. Some to the light, others to the dark.
She accepted the application when it came through Owl, for the third year in a row, placing it with the others on her desk, the silver M shining on the top of the pile.
After countless interviews, candidates were slowly dwindling out of the running, or being cut entirely. The envelope with the silver wax seal stared at her from its place on the desk, now the last remaining of its stack.
Every question she asked was met with an easy reply, like the answer had been obvious. His confidence flowed in a steady stream, regardless of the complexity of the potion he brewed. She watched in scrutiny as he perfected each test potion, every stir he made in the cauldron exact to the turns, every ingredient precisely measured.
“Well, I certainly have not seen anyone more talented and suitable for the position.” Minerva said shortly.
“I will see you at the beginning of the school term then,” Draco sniffed before walking out of the Headmistresses office.
Minerva was brought back to the present as her thoughts were interrupted by a knock on her door.
Hermione Granger is greeted by Minvera at the door with a familiar smile.
On her way to the desk her eyes scan the portraits lining the walls of former Headmasters. Her steps falter slightly when her eyes make connection with Dumbledore’s. She brushes off the intrusive edge of contempt and makes her way quickly to the seat across the desk.
It was not uncommon for the two witches to be sitting across from each other. She often sought out Minerva when she needed reassurance, or wisdom. In times like these, the comfort of her voice echoes in her mind and mixes with the sound of her mother’s. Hermione quickly pushed it out of her mind and suppressed the wave of sadness in her stomach.
She hadn’t known why her headmistress had asked her to meet in her office, but Minerva cut to the chase as quickly as she sat down.
“Hermione dear, I requested your presence today out of respect for you as a person, and out of knowingness of your past. Know that I am not seeking your counsel on this decision,” she paused. "I have filled the position of Potions Professor.”
“That’s great,” Hermione started cautiously, wary of her superior’s preface. “Who did you choose?”
“Draco Malfoy–
“I’m sorry?–” Hermione interrupted, thinking she must have misheard. That can’t be right.
“–will be filling the position because he has the proper qualifications. I understand Miss Granger, that you have a complicated history with Mr. Malfoy, but you need to understand that it was a case of childhood. Mr. Malfoy grew up to be an exceptionally talented potions master. Hogwarts can benefit from his expertise,” Minerva stated in a stern voice.
“But he tried to kill Dumbledore!” Hermione couldn’t help but burst out.
“Severus Snape killed Albus Dumbledore, you know as well as I do”, she replied gravely.
Hermione stammered in rebuttal but Minerva’s clipped tone cut her off.
“Draco Malfoy is a reformed man. The ministry backs his safety and pardon as a reinducted member of society. He was the most capable candidate for the job, so I must give him the job. It will do you well, Miss Granger, to give him a chance.”
Hermione sat in stunned silence for a moment before retorting quickly, “But–...but, Minerva, the things he used to say to me, what he used to call me…you expect me to pretend like it didn’t happen?”
“I would never expect you to forgive him if you do not feel like he has earned it. All I am asking is that you be civil with each other, and maybe consider giving him a chance to apologize.”
“Draco Malfoy would never apologize to me. He made it very clear I am not worthy of it,” Hermione replied bitterly.
She is startled when the door to the office thuds closed behind her.
“Talking about me behind my back are we? Nice to see nothing has changed,” a low voice cooly drawled. The second Hermione heard the first word she froze. She didn’t dare to turn around, she knew exactly who she would face.
“Mr. Malfoy. Thank you for joining us. Please, take a seat,” the headmistress greeted.
Malfoy swiftly takes a seat next to Hermione and takes an inquisitive turn in her direction.
“I heard the Golden Girl is the Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor? I didn’t think you had it in you.”
Hermione swore she could see the smirk on his face as he said it.
“You're just ornery because I got to it before you did. I see you got potions, just like Snape.” She snapped.
She noticed in her peripheral vision his posture grow slightly more rigid at her words. This seemed to shut him up just long enough for Minerva to push her way back into their bickering.
“Professor Granger, now that we have all been reacquainted, I will have you escort Professor Malfoy to his sleeping quarters here at Hogwarts for the rest of the term,” she said with finality Hermione didn’t dare question.
The two young professors stood silently and proceeded to leave, finding it better to not argue with the headmistress so early in the school year.
As they reached the door, Minerva called from her desk, “I certainly do not want to be alerted to any funny business coming from the two of you. I expect you to be on your best and most professional behavior. You are professors here after all, not students”.
As Hermione crossed the door, she became acutely aware that she is now alone with Draco Malfoy. She refused to feel afraid. Malfoy was nothing but a bully from her school days, she would not allow him the satisfaction of her fear.
This resolution did nothing to cut the tension, rising with the seconds between them. She glanced at Malfoy from the corner of her eye, his stride confident and smooth but with the air of indifference. His eyes stared hard ahead, as if he was trying not to notice her next to him.
She debated speaking to him, but she decided that if she had nothing nice to say, she was not going to say anything at all. She didn’t want to stoop to his level.
Their walk was painfully silent, the only noise being their footsteps echoing throughout the empty corridors of the castle. She couldn't help but notice a slight bellow of his cape, eerily reminding her of Snape. Interesting. There was a stark shiver of unpleasantness shooting down her spine as they rapidly approached the large dark chestnut door leading to his living quarters.
She slowed to a stop in front of his door. As she opened her mouth to speak, he barged through the door. The slam a second later blew her hair back off her shoulders. She stood there gaping for only a few seconds before remembering herself.
What am I doing?
She shut her mouth abruptly before turning on her heel and stalking away. Frustration pricked in her veins on her walk back to her rooms. He is going to rue the countless days he taunted me.
No. I need to be the bigger person.
Hermione stormed into her rooms, slamming the door behind her before falling face-first into her bed with a scream.

✨ wip wednesday ✨
thank you to my love @covetyou for the tag <3 this is actually perfect bc i've been stumped on what to work on so i need y'all to decide for me
free falling love addict [dieter bravo]
this was supposed to be a porn w/o plot one-shot and is now a 5-part series full of feelings 💀 basically dieter falls hard and fast for a non-binary co-star who just so happens to be playing his daughter. there's a lot of drama and uncertainty and angst and it's a whole roller coaster ride (thank u to @beskarandblasters for the title and an absolutely STUNNING graphic that y'all will see later)
You wake up from your four hours of sleep with a little clearer mind, surprisingly. Dieter’s hot and he’d be a once-in-a-lifetime lay, but you’re playing his daughter in this show. How seriously do you want to be taken in this industry? Because banging the actor who plays your father in your first serious project is decidedly not the route to being taken seriously as a moviestar; in fact, it’s the kind of scandal that could end your career before it even starts. You shower, do your basic morning skincare routine, get dressed, and head to set. All the while, you chant your new mantra: Dieter Bravo is off limits no matter how badly you want to play right into his hands. His big hands. His big meaty hands that you want all over your–
(untitled) dad's best friend wedding joel [no outbreak joel miller]
BILL X FRANK SUPREMACY. this is bill x frank's world and we are just living in it. but anyway it's 2013, no outbreak, we're fixing the timeline, reader is frank's adopted daughter and maid of honor, joel is bill's best friend and best man. there's an age gap and a lot of trying to deny attraction until it all comes to a head and they work out their frustrations in the coat room after the wedding
You would’ve sworn, when you first met him, that an elaborate wedding would be the very last thing Bill would want. And yet this has been as much his planning as it has been your dad’s. It brings so much joy to your heart that your dad has found someone who matches him so completely. You couldn’t be happier for them; and at the same time, you couldn’t be more miserable for yourself. Because, as dedicated as you are to making this day perfect for them, Bill’s best man and long-time friend is maybe even more dedicated. He’s been turning this wedding into a friendly competition between the two of you, trying to one-up you at every opportunity he gets. It’s infuriating—especially when he wears that smug grin that’s become his signature expression around you. It’s torture, too, because all you want to do is kiss that stupid smirk right off his handsome face.
(untitled) blind date [dieter bravo]
basically dieter goes on a blind date with someone who has no clue who he is (you) and falls in love so hard
He never should’ve agreed to this—and really, it’s not even his fault that he did. His assistant should know better than to ask him questions when he’s a joint and a half in.  Maybe it’s a sense of obligation after he pushed her into the pool last week—in his defense, she really needed to loosen up—or maybe he’s just plain lonely. Whatever it is, he’s here, the champagne is good, and there’s no point backing out now. He takes another peek at his watch and lets out a slightly-too-loud groan. You aren’t supposed to be here for another ten minutes, and he’s already been seated and drinking for fifteen. How Jennifer—the aforementioned assistant—managed to get him here early, he’ll never know. But he does know it’s the first and last time he’ll ever be early for an engagement; the anxiety of anticipation is far too stressful. Plus, he’s worried it makes him look desperate—too eager to meet a complete and utter stranger.
(untitled) dieter crashing your graduation party (consensually) [dieter bravo]
this is my baby 🥹 probably the most self-insert thing i will ever write tbh. yet another series that was supposed to just be a one-shot, i haven't actually planned how many chapters this is going to be yet but i know what i'm doing with the story line lol. basically your family throws you a graduation party when you finish cosmetology school, and because you're antisocial and don't want a huge crowd you tag people that won't/can't come on your invite post--but the one person you thought for sure wouldn't come actually shows up and it sets off the craziest series of events
The crowd has lulled a bit, and you’re just about to go find that bar you’ve been so excited about when someone you do recognize walks up the brick path to the gate. And god help you, your jaw actually visibly, physically drops. You blink once, twice, and then once again for good measure. But he’s still there–not wishful thinking, not a mirage. He’s real and solid and here. Dieter Bravo stands on your garden path with all the air of a god amongst men. He’s dressed in black from head to toe–perfectly tailored black suit pants and an open suit jacket over a silk button-up shirt. If it was anyone else, he would be overdressed; but he manages to make it look like the perfect mix of messy and put together.  There’s a part of you that still thinks maybe it’s not him, that the dark sunglasses he wears hide the eyes of someone who has an uncanny resemblance to your favorite actor. But the other, larger part of you knows. You’re face to face with Dieter fucking Bravo.
(untitled) joel x hairdresser [jackson era joel miller]
i think this is going to be a 2-3 parter bc god forbid i write anything short. basically you're the resident hair stylist in jackson, and joel has hair that needs to be cut. he does you little favors in turn bc that's how jackson runs, but he ends up falling for you in the process
He starts to see traces of you everywhere, and he’d be bothered by it if thoughts of you weren’t so soothing.  He sees wildflowers while he’s out on patrol and thinks they would be perfect to replenish the vase on your counter. He finds hair gel in a nearby drugstore and wonders if it’s something you could use. He pulls anatomy textbooks from a shelf in an abandoned library because he remembers you mentioning that you’d like to expand your services to include massage. He has to remind himself that he shouldn’t be thinking so much about someone who’s half his age–that it’s borderline creepy to see so many things and want to bring them to you as offerings. But then again, that’s how Jackson operates. If he wants a service, he has to be able to give something in return. And he wants your services most of all.
(untitled) shotgunning filth [lucien flores]
the doc title pretty much says it with this one 😂 i've only just started this one but here's what i have:
You see his car in your driveway when you get home and it makes you shiver.  That stupid mint-condition hot-rod red 2003 Ford Thunderbird activates the most ridiculous Pavlovian response–your heart rate quickens, your stomach tightens with anticipation, your pussy starts preparing itself for the inevitable delicious torture you’re about to endure.
and if you want to hear more about any of these options, pls send me an ask i love talking about my stories :)

⭐ Send me a word/words and if I have it in a WIP I will sprint for 15mins on that project ⭐
Still normal but not likely mode:
Chicken
Spinach
Bagel
Cat
Paper
Books
Muchly appreciated to get me working on some of these fics and keep the motivation up through the end of January blues!
Once again I will put under the cut as this one will be long and it's a mix of Ted Lasso and Slow Horses but ...
Chicken - Pool Day
Spinach - Quick Repairs To Cope
Bagel - untitled Catherine Babysitter fic
Cat - Quick Repairs To Cope
Paper - There's No Place Like Home Ch4
Books - Every Time We Touch Ch6
Books - Every Time We Touch Ch6
“And I’m trying to read so turn it the fuck off,” Roy batted at the console instead and that at least got Jamie’s attention and the music slowly quietened. Roy flicked back to the page he was on and sunk back into the cushions. He hadn’t quite worked out this new book from Lasso yet but Phoebe would kill him if he read more Wrinkle in Time without her so he might as well get started on this new one but it wasn’t as engaging yet. Maybe Ruth would be able to stop round with more books at some point during the two weeks; he needed something to do with his time so he might as well get back into reading. He had liked books as a kid, but that was another thing that he left behind on that agonising trek north. Being that young in and academy so far away from home in a house he didn’t feel settled in didn’t leave much time for hobbies or children’s books.
And for that sprint I got 251 words!
Cat - Quick Repairs To Cope
“Oh fuck!” Catherine exclaimed. River gasped like an old lady clutching her pearls. He had never heard Catherine swear before. It just didn’t feel right, like some unwritten rule was being broken. “The cats.” “Cats?” River frowned, his heart pounding in his chest at the sudden change. “I was cat sitting. My neighbour’s in Inverness with his mother who is ill and so I’ve been looking after his cats. With all of this I completely forgot about them.” Catherine was a flurry of movement, pulling on her shoes and grabbing a set of keys. “Won’t they be …” River frowned, his brain subconsciously tugging him to his feet and following behind Catherine like a little duckling. He truly hadn’t known that he was going to come here tonight and he had just wanted to check in on Catherine but now that urge had been fulfilled, River didn’t know what else to do. He might as well be Catherine’s little tag along and go see some cats. “They have an automatic feeder and litter box and so, well, oh I hope they’re ok,” she fussed, bundling River into his shoes and out of the door before hurrying down the stairs.
For this sprint I got 225 words!
Spinach - Quick Repairs To Cope
“I wouldn’t take you as the type for cooking?” Catherine questioned, the knife clacking against the chopping board in a soothing repetition. River turned down the heat and gave it on last stir before resting the lid over the pan. “I used to do it with my grandma. She swore that a good home cooked meal could solve all ills,” River smiled, turning to lean backwards against the counter. His hands tightened on the lip, fingertips feeling every crack and crevice in the hastily applied laminate coating. “Rose always seemed kind,” Catherine nodded. The knife cut through the spinach, dicing it into tiny pieces with a practiced efficiency that told of Catherine’s opinion on a good home cooked meal as well.
That sprint got me 285 words!
Chicken - Pool Day
Swimming was good for his knee yes. But larking around on pool inflatables was not swimming and Roy was not doing it. “Boo,” Jamie pouted. “Your Uncle Roy’s being a chicken Pheebs!” “Don’t be a chicken Uncle Roy,” Phoebe replied. She was sitting with a can of Fanta, that he was going to regret giving her, astride a unicorn inflatable. Her little legs were going a mile a minute paddling her steed over to the edge of the pool. “I’ll do it if you will,” she hissed when the unicorn was in touching distance. “I’m not scared,” Roy growled. “I didn’t say you were,” Phoebe frowned. “I wanna do the slide with my Uncle Roy,” and how was he supposed to say no to that.
That sprint got me 200 words!
Paper - There's No Place Like Home Ch4
“It’s not healing like we had hoped and your fall just worsened those worries. We want to get you in there as soon as possible.” The doctor was talking but all the words were static in Jamie’s ears. It didn’t matter the details because his dad was nodding along and asking something. James’ hand was a steady weight on Jamie’s elbow as his mind drifted into the comforting void space he had taken to hiding in when things became all to much. His fingers ran over the paper hospital gown that had bunched up around his midriff. It was barely covering his business with a slit at the side so they could access his hip. Flimsy and weak and only just holding together, maybe this paper gown and Jamie weren’t dissimilar.
That sprint got me 211 words
Bagel - untitled Catherine Babysitter fic
“What’s got your knickers in a twist today?” Lamb huffed as Catherine placed the tea down on his desk. “Nothing,” Catherine protested. She gripped onto the sides of her skirt in a blatantly obvious attempt to stop her hands from moving and compulsively tidying the mess in the office around her. “This ain’t nothing, you’ve been busy bodying around here for hours now,” Lamb argued. He wasn’t wrong. Catherine had been in a couple of hours earlier than she usually was and had cleaned the whole place top to bottom, apart from Lamb’s Office of course. She had even brought breakfast bagels for the office. “Can’t someone just want to do a good job around here,” Catherine huffed. “No.”
That sprint got me 301 words!

hi hi friends i've been jumping between different things, my own projects, beta reading something VERY EXCITING (and getting personally attacked by someone i thought was a friend😉)
What I bring to you today is a snippet from what i've been calling the untitled brunch project. It's Alex and Henry out to brunch with Alex's cousin Eddie, his son Chris, and some other dude he's bringing.
That's right babes, it's a crossover.
“And who’s this tall drink of water?” Alex says, extending his hand. “Alex–” Henry begins to scold. “This ‘tall drink of water’ prefers to be called Buck,” Buck beams and grabs Alex’s hand. “Nice to meet you, I’ve heard so much about you,” his smile stretches across his face and makes his blue eyes light up.  “Nothing good I’m sure,” Alex says with a smirk. Buck’s grip is firm and strong, his hand nearly fully engulfs Alex’s. Alex stares at their hands for a moment before Henry holds out his.
I have no idea where I'm headed with this, but I'm having a grand time.
no pressure tagging: @nocoastposts @eusuntgratie @violetbaudelaire-quagmire @magicandarchery @sheepywritesfics @onward--upward @oldtshirtsouls
below the cut- a surprise of something else I'm working on I wanted to share. That's more what if Nick and Taylor met years before filming.
“Some skinny floppy haired guy came in alone a bit ago,” Maxxie nods to the pool tables in the back behind Taylor without looking up from the glass he’s drying.  Taylor turns and leans on one elbow against the bar and watches the guy playing pool alone. His hair is brown and shaggy, it’s swept to the side to keep it out of his eyes. Taylor bites the inside of his cheek when he notices the guy’s lips. They’re plump and pink; they look like they belong wrapped around a dick, Taylor’s dick. He bites at them as he lines up his next shot. “Holy shit,” Taylor says under his breath. “He hasn’t missed a single shot since he got here,”

mer au - untitled
Loto knew what had happened.
She knew, okay? The humans in the village had wanted her gone. They didn't want to share their food or their space with some random mer, and they weren't subtle about it. But she'd been- well, she'd been starved for more than food when she'd found the place, she supposed, and it had been so easy to pretend that the language barrier was shrimply too great to overcome, that she couldn't understand the cues that said go away, we don't want you, get out. And it was safe, even safer than the sub, because the humans wouldn't hurt her and everything that would wanted nothing to do with them. Even when she had a friend(?) in Moana, she still- she kept going. Moana could only visit so often. Loto couldn't not go.
So yes, she knew why she now drifted in a shallow, empty pool, kept company by an open hollow and the food she only sometimes ate. (Her diet had declined in recent years, even with Moana's help, and she wasn't inclined to change it just yet.) She was there because she'd once more overstepped her nonexistent welcome, and the humans wanted to ensure she wouldn't do it again.
She kept to the hollow, for the most part. It was the worst hollow she'd ever been in, with no camouflage, no visual interest, and no way to close the entrance, but it was still cover, at least. Food was tossed in regularly, fish and clams and the odd ironic piece of octopus or squid. It was oddly cold most of the time, but filling.
There were puzzles too, at times, bright things with moving parts and scraps of vegetables tucked inside, vaguely insulting in their simplicity. She enjoyed them, the foreign textures and flavors, the occasional clever sequences and hidden mechanisms, but… they were just puzzles.
…She missed people.
Something outside the pool crashed. Loto curled tighter in her corner.
These humans only interacted with her when they wanted something, information from an exam, or for her to eat in a certain place at a certain time. Admittedly, so had the other humans, but they were less… brusque about it. More emotional. They made sounds of exasperation and laughed and sat down and gave up dramatically. These humans… blanker than the submarine walls.
More crashing. A few shouts.
Plus, she had an actual friend these days! Had had a friend? Had something… not a friend? Eugh, it was complicated. She couldn't just project something like ‘comedic nemesis’ onto Moana like she could with humans. They were definitely friendly in some form, but Loto had a vague notion some of their interactions could read as romantic or familial and she honestly had no frame of reference for how to pick out either quality, and she couldn't exactly ask Moana.
Someone loosed what Loto was pretty sure was a foul human curse. She huffed. For humans who wanted nothing to do with her, they sure bothered her a lot.
Impending emotional crisis aside, Loto was simply not as content to be alone as she had once been. Even octopus mers were social creatures, and she missed her tiny pseudo-pod.
An angry shriek bounced off the walls.
Okay, what in hades was making all that-
-racket.

Here are the top 15 best Kendrick Lamar songs ranked… #15. “Sing About Me (I’m Dying of Thirst)” (2012) Off good kid, m.A.A.d city, this 12-minute opus stands out as one of Kendrick Lamar’s most vulnerable storytelling tracks. It delves into themes of mortality, legacy, and the burden of being the voice of the voiceless. With its layered narrative and minimalistic production, it feels less like a song and more like a short film. #14. “Rigamortis” (2011) Before good kid, m.A.A.d city, Kendrick was already cooking heat. “Rigamortis” is pure technical wizardry—rapid-fire rhymes delivered over jazz-infused horns. More importantly, it proved early on that Kendrick Lamar wasn’t just another new rapper, but a force to be reckoned with. #13. “Ronald Reagan Era (His Evils)” feat. RZA (2011) Here, Kendrick revisits the aftermath of the Reagan years through the lens of Compton’s streets. Moreover, the social commentary runs deep, and his delivery is as gritty as the history it references. It’s easily one of the most politically charged Kendrick Lamar songs to date. #12. “King Kunta” (2015) A funky rebellion from To Pimp a Butterfly, “King Kunta” blends satire, bravado, and racial commentary. Additionally, Kendrick calls out the music industry and asserts his dominance with swagger and style. The beat slaps, and the message hits even harder. #11. “Untitled 05 | 09.21.2014” (2016) From untitled unmastered., this track proves that even Kendrick’s throwaways surpass most artists’ polished singles. With jazzy production and existential musings, it captures the raw, creative chaos of the To Pimp a Butterfly sessions. #10. “m.A.A.d City” feat. MC Eiht (2012) Chaotic, cinematic, and completely unfiltered, this is Kendrick Lamar’s musical diary entry from his days growing up in Compton. It’s full of tension, storytelling, and generational pain. Few Kendrick Lamar songs match this one’s visceral energy. #9. “Euphoria” (2024) One of Kendrick’s latest and most scathing songs, “Euphoria,” delivers sharp, menacing bars in his lyrical feud with Drake. It’s confident and cutting—another reminder that Kendrick’s pen is simply unmatched. #8. “A.D.H.D.” (2011) An early anthem for a lost generation, Kendrick critiques prescription pill culture, emotional detachment, and youthful confusion with a laid-back flow. This track highlighted his unique ability to turn societal issues into introspective, impactful bangers. #7. “Swimming Pools (Drank)” (2012) A haunting dive into alcoholism and peer pressure, wrapped in a club-friendly package, “Swimming Pools” showcases Kendrick’s brilliance in giving mainstream hits real meaning. This track is a perfect example of his ability to balance deep themes with infectious beats. #6. “HUMBLE.” (2017) With its infectious beat and iconic hook, “HUMBLE.” became one of Kendrick Lamar’s biggest commercial hits. But beyond the flex, it’s a cultural statement. From its commentary on beauty standards to its minimalist visuals, the track makes a lasting impact. #5. “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe” (2012) One of the smoothest Kendrick Lamar songs ever made, it’s introspective, spiritual, and dripping with emotion. The track serves as both a personal mantra and a universal mood. #4. “Backseat Freestyle” (2012) Lyrical fireworks, “Backseat Freestyle” showcases Kendrick having fun while demonstrating his versatility and technical mastery. It’s chaotic, wild, and deeply entertaining, with bars that are still quoted years later. #3. “Money Trees” feat. Jay Rock (2012) Chill yet reflective, “Money Trees” remains a fan favorite. The hypnotic beat and standout feature from Jay Rock complement Kendrick’s verse about dreams, crime, and the pursuit of better days. The song masterfully blends poetry with power. #2. “Not Like Us” (2024) The ultimate moment in Kendrick Lamar’s 2024 takeover, “Not Like Us,” is a diss track with anthem-level energy. Produced by DJ Mustard, it’s witty, danceable, and devastating—a rare combo that only Kendrick could pull off so effortlessly. #1. “Alright” (2015) No Kendrick Lamar song has had the cultural resonance of “Alright.” Indeed, it became an anthem for the Black Lives Matter movement and a symbol of hope during protest and pain.
