lucasfilm story group i have some questions for you regarding timelines and the tenacity of a person who has been dealing with the debate surrounding precision dating of the 'minoan' eruption for a decade and a half.

- yoda, issue 10: the cave

yes, it's the cave on dagobah, infamous for fucking with whoever enters it. but! yoda didn't know yaddle was dead until this point. regarding the veracity of the cave's visions: yoda's previous encounter with the cave showed him the fall of the jedi temple; luke's vision regarding vader was what would have happened if he had killed vader in anger—he would fall to the dark side, become sidious's apprentice, not the literal expression of himself in vader's suit but truth nonetheless; in the aphra comics, madelin sun also visits the cave and is also given truths.

and not just 'from a certain point of view'. the narrative pushes these parts of the visions as objective truths. the additional bits (yoda drowning in the skeletal remains of the victims of order 66, vader as the expression of the empire as he's the face of it to luke) are the baggage you bring with you.

so, after that little detour into what counts as truth and what counts as inference, the timeline, prior to the release the living force should be:

PM - 1W*: Trade Federation blockades Naboo. [QP]**

PM/0: Invasion begins; Obi-Wan& Qui-Gon on Naboo by twilight that evening [NA]***.

PM+1: Arrival in Theed the next day; flee Naboo; hyperspace jump to Tatooine takes a little over an hour****; arrive in Tatooine at midday [NA]; reach Mos Espa before mid-afternoon [NA]; meet Anakin & Shmi.

PM+2: Boonta Eve Classic; leave for Coruscant in afternoon (~3 hour trip****). The implication is that a night is passed while travelling to Coruscant, shown by night on Naboo and Anakin having trouble sleeping on the ship [NA].

PM+3: Arrival on Coruscant (day); Senate shenanigans; Dooku deletes Kamino from Jedi Archives, talks with Qui-Gon (assuming concurrent with Senate shenanigans, mid-afternoon if the light is from a window and not a glow panel); High Council tests Anakin (sunset - twilight) departure for Naboo.

PM+4: Chancery election; Battle of Naboo; Qui-Gon killed by Maul.

PM+6?: Dooku kills Yaddle.*****

PM+7: Qui-Gon's funeral, evening [NA].

* pm: phantom menace; +/- indicates the time, in days, in relation to the beginning of the film, unless otherwise noted (w for week). ** [QP]: information gained from queen's peril novel. *** [NA]: information gained from novel adaptation. **** how do i know it was 3 hours? i did the assigned homework. ***** this one is a bit squiffy, as we don't know exactly which day the council departed for naboo. the novelization says qui-gon's funeral was three days after the battle, and there hasn't been anything stated elsewhere to change this. it's the next day, at the very least, as the battle of naboo took up the whole previous day, but it could also be the same day as qui-gon's funeral, depending on when the council departed.

Meanwhile, the other sources:

this is not helped by the reasoning behind the Coruscant reckoning system, canon's new calendar, being based on 'vibes' until they decided to do actual dates for Andor. because the date for the 0 point of the B/ABY calendar is now about 127 days into the Coruscant reckoning year because they ~vibed~ Leia's arrest warrant going out/the Battle of Scarif as happening on 7977.331.3.

I miss the old calendar. It was nice, and simple, and had lovely intercalary holidays. none of these decimals, none of these 'yeah it's totes a 365-day calendar like ours. no leap years. no we're not telling you about months. no, ignore the previous thing we said was canon, it's definitely not 10 months of 7 weeks of 5 days, 3 fete weeks, 3 extra holidays, adding up to 368 days. i have spent too many hours of my life trying to figure this out.

Is there any overt way to tell if a piece of First Material has been made into a pymaric, outside of those that are commercialized or made obvious for utilities sake? Like, some way to see or prove what's stored in it? In other fantasy settings you'd see like, runes or a weird glow or whatever, but I get the feeling Pymary works on a much different level not tangible to the naked eye.

It will look like a pymaric. Outside of khert hubs, which are too huge to machine, no one is going to dump pymary into a raw and untooled piece of First Material. First Glass bulbs look like bulbs, First Gems are almost always glamoured beautifully, First Ores are shaped into tools and weapons.

This was different hundreds of years ago, before people figured out how to isolate FMs from the khert so they could be reshaped, but these days a pymaric will look like a pymaric.

Unless, of course, you are TRYING to hide that it's a pymaric. Then you probably would not want to do anything to your raw material.

pt 1: some but certainly a lot less than i'd like, and i'm working on remedying this. what you're able to do very much depends on where you live, how far you're able to easily travel, and how much time/money/expertise/resources you have to offer. look up outreach programs in your county (or equivalent administrative region if you live outside of the united states); most will have a page explaining how you can help. i just searched for domestic violence and homeless shelters near me and the ways to donate/contribute. donating money or useful items may seem small, but they help keep these programs afloat and helping women. volunteer and work opportunities are also often available! i would love to work with a DV shelter or coalition, but they are travel-prohibitive for me at the moment. i'm also contacting a local feminist chapter and will be going to some meetups because that's much closer and easier for me to work out while on public transportation. so right now my scope is basically nearby protests (limited but there have been a few), donations, volunteer work, and whatever immediate impact i can have, but i'm hoping to eventually do more permanent work. (also, i may have found a shelter to apply to work at, but i have some personal logistics to work out first.)

try finding out what women in your area are doing, talk to them, and figure out what the areas of the greatest need are as well as what you're interested in doing. my main interests lie in domestic violence advocacy, abortion rights, and lesbian rights so that's what i plan to mostly try to do things in.

pt 2: yes! i'm actually still in college/university (which impacts the time that i'm able to travel), but i started "late" because i didn't have the time or money to go when i was 18, and there were other extenuating circumstances that are pretty boring to hear about. i don't think that anyone who does not get higher education is stupid, and many of the most intelligent women i've known did not get a university education or didn't get one until much later than i did. however, i strongly encourage the pursuit of higher education if you have an interest in it and the ability to go. if you don't have the time or money for university, or have just decided that it's not for you, i still suggest honing certain skills and areas of knowledge in the meantime. using your public library (which often includes access to audiobooks and e-books), free courses from universities (like stanford, MIT, and yale), and online resources like untools (just a fun website to learn some ways of solving problems) are ways to keep learning while not going to university. i'm sorry if that isn't the most helpful, but they're what i mostly used while i wasn't going to university. just keep reading and keep your curiosity; in a lot of ways there are big benefits to learning in a non-traditional way.

There have been entire essays written about how tragic trial 2 of SDR2 is but I want to talk about something that I don't really see mentioned in those discussions.

Fuyuhiko revealing his true thoughts on Peko and wanting her to see her own self worth caused her to react in untool way. Showing their true selves is what caused Monokuma to decide that Peko would be considered the killer (of course until he revealed he was just messing with them and he was gonna do that all along but they didn't know that at the time).

For all they knew if Fuyuhiko would have kept his mouth shut about his feelings and not make Peko react in anyway they would have won. Though doing this it would reinforce the idea that Peko was just only a mere tool. She would die believing she was a tool unworthy of love from herself or others. Fuyuhiko would live still bottling up his true self. Still being a coward who couldn't do anything for himself or people he secretly cared for. He would be stuck an emotionally stunted yet emotional wreck of a coward without companionship.

it’s kind of ironic that Matt’s untooled bloodhunter class that Molly was, would have been much easier for the Nein to deal with than is new and improved blood hunter class.  I mean the way it was for Molly it was suicide for him to be a two handed Bloodhunter since he was literally bleeding his hp just to get his two swords activated. for reference Lucien would have lost 24-30 hp in the original class that lowered his max hp until they were ended, as opposed to his likely 16 lost hp that can be healed.  Not to mention all the boosts Matt did to the class

DrawKit features 220+ free to use illustrations. They all come in SVG so you can create awesome compositions! Also, they offer animated illustrations using lottie which is huge for cool and sleek website development.

DevDocs is a documentation aggregator. It adds multiple libraries and API documentation in a clean and searchable interface. This is massive for general development so I highly recommend it.

This site is a holy grail for those that don't want to create their own regex or search all through google. Think of it as google for regex.

Ever heard of Lottie? I had not until I found this website. Lottie is a library that allows you to parse and run animations exported from Adobe After Effects. These animations are beautiful and LottieFiles houses thousands of these for free. However, take into consideration most of them have a CC-BY 2.0 license.
