“Street Poetry” is the debut single by the talented multi-instrumentalist Pelligroso (whose birth name is Koeppell McDade) and the second single launched by Give a Beat Records.

Incarcerated for four years and released in September 2020, Pelligroso’s inspiration for writing the track came from his experience behind bars. He hopes listeners will take away a new understanding of the incarceration system with this first release. “Music is my therapy,” the artist expressed.

“Street Poetry” came to life as Pelligroso collaborated with L.A.-based rapper and producer Zeroh. “He knew exactly what he wanted to do going into it, which made it very easy to drop in and have fun during the recording and editing process,” Zeroh explained. “Sessions like that don't feel like work really; there's enough space to have more meaningful conversation that ultimately helps to illuminate the artist's message/vision."
