A yelp leaves her when the man actually pinches her cheek, and she covers the spot with her hand, looking at him with a slight pout, only to end up smiling widely. They're in Lotte World, and the whole place is for them. Where should they go first? They can go to every ride without waiting in lines, the food stalls are for them as well, and there aren't kids or adults screaming. To someone, it might be odd, but to her? It feels nice. She doesn't have to worry about people looking at her oddly ( even when they aren't doing so, to begin with ), and she gets to continue to enjoy his company. Hands finding their way around his waist while walking next to him, she lets him decide where they will go, and when Jinhae is talking about headbands, she enthusiastically nods. "I have always wanted one." She admits while letting go of his waist to hold his hand when they are inside the store, and her gaze immediately lands on the headbands. Sooyoung is able to quickly look at them, wanting to try them all, until he lets her know about the school uniforms, and her gaze turns towards him. "Oohhhh... We can pretend to be one of the cool kids." Well, she can pretend to be one. He already is. Her legs lead her to him, and she goes through the clothes, picking a school uniform that is her size. "This and bunny ears?" She shows him the outfit while quickly glancing at the headbands again. A headband with pink bunny ears was the first thing she saw, and she's looking at it again. || @urstriker

            jinhae was in the middle of holding his breath, still waiting in pure anticipation for her reaction, knowing that it would take a while to sink in. once he noticed that it did and upon seeing her whole face light up at the surprise, the soccer player breathes out a sigh of relief. he was happy that it paid off, as it took a lot of convincing for the management to give up their park for the night - with the only deciding factor being that they will be paid more than what they usually earn in one night. getting out of the car, he holds his hand out towards her, " yup, that's right. you're not dreaming. here, " he reaches to lightly pinch her cheek, chuckling, " see ! it's real life, sooyoungie. " and with that, he leads her into the entrance of the theme park, going through the doors with ease. " okay, before we go ride some rides . . do you want to go shopping for some headbands ? and like, other cute stuff. i'll let you choose. " the souvenir shop was by the entrance, and so with her in tow he walked into it, " ah, i forgot they even do school uniform rentals here. wouldn't that be cute ? we could dress up too if you want. " another suggestion is hoisted her way, with jinhae scanning the racks of the school uniforms with his free hand. | @mndstom

at the mention of old embarrassing photos of jinhae, it was time for kyungtae to join in the conversation. i could probably find pictures of you as a kid if i went through my mom's old albums for sure. he added with a chuckle, remembering how much time they used to spend together back then and how his mother absolutely loved capturing every single little detail about his childhood on camera. seunghyun, on the other hand, just shook his head and added in a joking tone. " i thought kyungtae-ya was my only hope here, but even he is joining in on this tomfoolery, tsk. "

returning to the other option of the conversation, the lifeguard nodded with a hum as he responded. " but yeah, i came back to take care of her so i'm living in her place. " well, it was still the same house seunghyun had grown up in, but he had never been particularly attached to the concept of a home, even more so after he had left. the little tidbits about jinhae's life had him more curious than he'd admit, though, gaze now fixed on the other's features as he took a sip of his drink before replying. " ah, it's like that, then? " he almost wanted to ask for more context, but didn't feel like it was the proper moment to do so. glancing at kyungtae, whose expression had changed a little at the mention of jinhae's father, seunghyun grew even more curious. however, he could always ask his friend for more context later too, couldn't he? yeah, that's what he was going to do for sure.

he shouldn't let the other so easily put his arm around him and bring him close, yet seunghyun could not bring himself to pull away — instead causing everyone to glance at the pair with a mix of surprise and amusement in their eyes as he simply settled against jinhae's side, frowning as he looked at him even with the shorter distance between them. " yah, i'm not cute! i wanna be cool or handsome or something like that. " oops, maybe he was getting a little drunk now too. " and i'll believe it when i see it. " tired of being the butt of the joke now, seunghyun left his words purposefully ambiguous for a moment just to see what kind of reaction he'd earn from the other — after all, if you can't beat them, join them. a second later, though, he continued in the most casual of tones, as if he had been innocent all along. " the robots, of course. " damn, who knew seunghyunnie would be the sluttiest of us all today? joohyuk joked, laughing loudly alongside the rest.

            " i think we should have a night where we just show our embarrassing photos to each other. wouldn't that be fun ?! " given, jinhae only suggested this for his own benefit, seeing as everyone at the table has definitely seen each other's photos of the past. " i would be a willing participant in this. surely, there are a lot of embarrassing photos and even videos of myself - but it's a price i'm willing to pay to see seunghyun ssi's old photos. " jinhae wriggles his thick brows, putting up both his thumbs.

" oh ? just you and your mom ? i see. do you see her often ? " in the same light, jinhae also keeps his questions pretty light, not wanting to pry too much as it wasn't the time nor place. " i guess i could say it's the same for me. " even though his father and older brothers were very much alive, they have been anything but family members to him. chewing on the corner of his lip, he nods over at kyungtae, " i'm sure hyung over here can attest to that. no one wants to be around my father. so i don't really consider him as such. "

giving glimpses of each other's lives, though little for now, was still something jinhae appreciated. and now that seunghyun was sulky beside him after the rather suggestive conversation, he chuckles. " ah, you're too cute, seriously. " the soccer player remarks, wrapping an arm over his shoulder and pulling him close. now that he was getting hit by the alcohol too, he was also getting a bit bolder. " i'll show you them eventually though ! you have no other choice. they're really cool and i spent so much time building them. i quite like building stuff. you know, i'm really good with my hands. " jinhae at this point was just riding off of the earlier conversation, causing another round of laughs from everyone else at the table. | @wcvensouls

seunghyun had a lot of things on his mind as he returned to work — and, luckily for him, things had seemed to calm down after the little show from earlier. at this point, he had not much else to do other than sit at his chair and watch people swim, not a single one of them needing his help... which meant that he had far too much time on his hands with nothing to focus on, eyes often drifting to a figure that just seemed to draw everyone's attention anywhere he went, no matter what he was doing. everytime seunghyun caught himself staring, though, he would quickly shake his head and frown at himself as he looked away, only hoping that he hadn't been noticed. towards the end of his shift, however, he began to grow a little nervous, as if there were butterflies anxiously flying around inside his stomach. was he really going out for dinner with that guy? sometimes he felt like every interaction he had with jinhae ever since meeting him were like fever dreams, as if he was stuck in a movie he didn't know about. what kind of plot or ending this movie would have, seunghyun wasn't so sure just yet. he guessed he had no other choice but to stick around and find out now, though. taking a bit of time to get ready after clocking out, he decided to take a quick shower of his own before changing back into his regular outfit and making his way to the guests' locker room, looking around for the other. " jinhae..? i'm, uh... i'm ready. "

            even as he headed back to his place, jinhae was still chuckling to himself about seunghyun's comment right before he left the locker rooms. he found him to be quite amusing, knowing that seunghyun didn't really hate him. deciding to wade in the pool for now, he takes a few laps - knowing that it'll be his workout for the day. all he could do in the meantime was steal glances at his favorite lifeguard on duty, not wanting to interrupt his work. he heads back to the lounge chair, drying himself with a towel. if he were to be honest, he was starting to get really hungry, but he held back from ordering food as he wanted to save as much room as possible for the meal that they were about to have. taking a call from his godfather informing him that he had booked seunghyun's perpetrator from earlier, he was relieved to hear this, " make sure he's booked in for more time than someone would usually have for this kind of case. " the younger reminds him, knowing he might as well use his connections for his benefit. checking his watch, jinhae opts to take a shower for the remainder of the other male's shift, wanting to be fresh in time for their meal. he then waits in the locker rooms again, just fixing his things in preparation to leave. | @wcvensouls

And scream she will. Her fingers tighten around his hand when the ride nudges a little as a sign it will soon make them feel like they're flying, and she squeezes her eyes shut. Even when she tells herself not to scream, she fails as soon as the ride launches, and lets out a long scream. Her hand doesn't let go of his, and she only opens her eyes slightly, only to end up closing them again when the ride is still going. Her frightened scream turns into one that tells she's starting to enjoy the way the wind is blowing into her, and she truly feels like she's flying. Her grip on his hand loosens, and Sooyoung eventually opens her eyes, just in time when everything comes to an end. "Holy..." She breathes, giggles leaving after, and she turns her head to look at him, her free hand brushing the red hair strands away from her facial features. "It was insane." She heard his question amid her screams, but she's only able to answer him when the ride was over and she's not screaming anymore. "I want to go again!" The female exclaims, shaking their hands while her gaze turns to look at the ride operator. There's no one else, so they don't have to leave the ride and give others a chance to go, which is why the ride operator doesn't instantly remove the restraints from their laps. Her dark hues turn back to Jinhae, almost giving him puppy eyes, pleading for him to have a second ride. || @urstriker

           " i did it for the sole purpose of you being able to scream your lungs out as much as you want. " jinhae jests, nudging her with his elbow lightly. as she was feeling nervous, him on the other hand, was feeling excited. he's never been to a theme park before, as his parents weren't exactly big fans of it. this was also a first time for him, and he was more than happy to be sharing the experience with no one else but sooyoung. giving the ride operator a nod in thanks, he squeezes her hand, as jinhae could sense that the ride was about to start. " you can do this, i believe in you. " he continues to be as encouraging as he could possibly be even until the last second. the soccer player was about to say something else, but the words get caught in his throat as they're practically launched forward, eyes widening, " oh, fuck. " and that wasn't going to be the only cuss word that comes out of him, as the ride speeds up, jinhae continues to release a string of curses, laughing in between. he was clearly enjoying himself, but he was also making sure she was okay, looking over at sooyoung every now and then, seeing her red hair getting swept by the wind. " this is insane, yeah ?! " he shouts out, luckily his voice was loud enough to be heard by the whole park at this point, hugging her hand over his chest to try and comfort her the whole time. | @mndstom

The butterflies in her stomach? They're different from the ones she felt the entire time they were at the restaurant. She's nervous to go on the rides that don't look scary, but there's still a chance something will go wrong when they're on it. She shakes her head at her thoughts. No. Nothing will happen to them. The rides have been test driven, and chances of them getting stuck? Small. While deep in her thoughts, she squeezes Jinhae's hand while walking towards the ride. Oh, she will definitely hold his hand the entire ride and most likely keep her eyes closed. To the ride operator, she gives a nervous smile while getting onto the ride before him, looking around before putting the restraint that's in front of her legs. "I still can't believe this whole park is for us." A dream she wishes she will never wake up from. And there she is, reaching for his hand to hold it tightly, while her other hand is holding the bar that's pressing on her thighs. "I'm already apologizing if you can't hear the rest of the night." She will scream. She might even close her eyes briefly. Heck, the way her heart is beating, she might even say her heart will jump out of her chest. She is nervous, trying to be patient while the ride operator is coming over to them to make sure the restraints are secure when they're both settled. || @urstriker

            " am i really handsome ? " he beams at the compliment, always happy to receive them, even more when it comes from sooyoung herself. " although the pants are too short. i don't remember my pants being this short in high school. " chuckling, he shook his head, blaming the insane growth spurt he's gone through since those times. " oh, yeah, why do you want to go on the wild ones first ? " he waits for an answer, his mouth forming a small ' o ' when she confesses why she wanted to go on the bigger rides to get over her fear. the reason did shock jinhae, as he didn't expect her to have that kind of reasoning. a smile spreads on his face, giving her hand a squeeze out of encouragement, " i see, that's really good that you'd like to try something new out tonight with me. but if you don't feel like going or you're scared, just tell me, okay ? " nodding, he starts to make his way to the big rollercoaster, looking up at it with big eyes. " it looks . . pretty crazy. " he notes. when she stops, he stares at her, immediately putting on a look of concern, brows furrowed and all. " oh, of course, yes. we can try out the small rollercoaster first. " tugging her hand, he walks up to the other ride, " i think this goes fast but it doesn't have the loops. this should be a good place to start. and remember, you can hold my hand all throughout. " hoping that was enough to comfort her, he greets the ride operator, heading straight for the cart at the front of this ride, gesturing for her to get in first with an encouraging smile. | @mndstom

She bursts into a fit of laughter, hands clasping, when she sees him. It brings back memories of the days when they would be sitting somewhere in a hidden place, eating their lunches, and gossiping about other people in their school. He made her school experience tolerable. "Look at you!" She giggles while letting him spin her around. "Soooo handsome." The compliment spills out of her mouth when she gets another chance to look at him and the outfit that's fitting him so well. Walking next to him out of the store, her eyes are once again wandering around, looking at the rides that are on display. "Do you wanna know why I want to go to the wild ones first?" Her dark hues glance in his direction, and her smile turns into a grin. "I've never been to roller coasters, and I want to face my fears tonight." The last time Sooyoung went to an amusement park, she was a kid whose height didn't allow her to get into the wilder rides without a parent. And even if her parents tried to get her into the wilder ones, her soul wasn't so brave back then, which is why she was happy with the kid ones. But she's ready to go on every ride with him. She will squeeze his hand if they end up getting ready. However, the moment she sees the roller coaster that supposedly has moments when they will be upside down, she finds herself hesitant to go there. "On a second thought... Can we start with the rides that don't go..." She halts her words to use her hand, index finger going in circles. "You know. Like that one over there." Then she uses the same finger to point towards the roller coaster she looked at earlier. || @urstriker

            as jinhae happily marches into the dressing room areas and begins to change into the school uniform, thoughts of the past suddenly come flooding in. he remembers high school, where the two of them met. remembers when he used to stick up for her and protect her from the mean people who were only jealous of her. during that time, jinhae was barely the version of himself that he is now. but even then, he still felt the need to protect her. even though he does look a little bit different than how he looked during high school and also growing a few extra inches, it did feel like those good old days. he heads out of the dressing rooms first, putting on the bunny headband once again that sooyoung chose for him, waiting outside for her. once she emerges from her own dressing room, he couldn't help but gasp, " ah, yaaaah, this is taking me back. if you didn't have red hair now, this would really feel like high school again. " he comments, holding his hand out for her and proceeds to twirl her, " you look stunning, as per usual. " leading the way out of the store with her in tow, he looks around, studying the rides around them, " okay, so, wild ones first ? then we should definitely hit the roller coasters first. " he walks toward the general direction of the coaster rides, glancing at her with a sweet smile, " if you ever get scared, you can just squeeze my hand okay ? " | @mndstom

With the costume in her arm, she follows him back to where the headbands are, taking another closer look at the headbands, and she's simply drawn to the one with bunny ears. Such a simple headband and she still wants it. However, as soon as she hears his words, and feels him patting her head, she looks away, flustered. Once again, Sooyoung finds herself internally screaming because of him. Even before they found out about each other feelings, he managed to make her flustered with simple things. Those moments literally caused her to search on the internet what does it mean if someone makes you constantly shy and you're thinking about them more than once a week. That way she discovered she has feelings for him. Once she sees movement next to her from the corner of her eye, the female is back looking at Jinhae, an amusement finding its way, and it shows on her facial features. "What do the royals say before they knight someone? I Knight you as my... Bunny?" Her silly words cause her to laugh while she reaches for another headband with bunny ears to place it on top of her head with a bright smile playing on her lips. "You look so cute." She giggles before placing a headband on her head to match him, and then she follows him into the dressing room area. "Should we go to the wild ones first, then the scary ones and chill ones later?" She suggests, halting her steps in front of a small room and she glances in his direction. "I will see you in a few seconds." With those words, she steps into the room and closes the curtain to make sure the one worker in the store will not see any glimpses of her when she changes into the costume. It fits her perfectly. The skirt isn't short, and the school jacket on her doesn't feel too tight. And the headband? It's like icing on the cake. The smile of hers not disappearing, she opens the curtain to step outside. || @urstriker

            one of the main reasons why jinhae opted to go with this location of choice and how he went about it was because he was fully aware of sooyoung's difficulty when it comes to facing crowded areas. the dinner, and now this, was all planned with intention and for sooyoung's comfort. greeting the employees as they pass them by, with most of them curiously looking their way, probably wondering who was this special guest that rented out the whole park for the night, he studies the different school uniforms. " i think this navy blue set would be cute on us. " gesturing to it, he waits for sooyoung to choose before he does, hoping the pants won't be too short on him. walking to the area with the headbands, he puts his hand in his pocket, rocking back and forth in place while waiting. " you want to be a bunny ? that's so cute. my lil tokki. " he beams down at her, patting her head, " then, i will also match. " spreading his long legs out and crouching a bit so that his date could do the honors and put the headband on top of his head, he waits with a smile. " alright then ! let's go change so we can get on the rides ! " now his energy was way up, excited to ride some rides with her. " you can also choose which one we should ride first ! think about it while we're changing and i'll meet you outside the store. " and with that, he gives her a wink before walking to the dressing room area. | @mndstom

He has a point, which is why she ends up jutting her lower lip out. "Okay, but..." She even tries to argue, but eventually, nothing comes out of her mouth, and she ends up getting from her seat, letting him guide her out of the restaurant. Each waitress she sees receives her bowing her head as a thank you for the food they brought them, and when they're back at his car, she gets inside. "You haven't given any clues!" The female complains with a whine while putting the seat belt around her body, and she waits for him to get inside. "So obviously, we're not going to a movie theater..." The young female is mainly talking to herself, thinking out loud of the possible places where they can go, and her list is short. Upon hearing his words, her attention turns to him, and her eyes are studying his facial features for a while. He has never done anything like this before? She's the first person he's treating like this? Sure, they talked about him not taking the people he sleeps with on a date and has made a clear line for them, but it still surprises her to find out she's the first person he's treating the way he's treating her. It makes her feel special. Her thoughts are interrupted when she sees the familiar lights in the corner of her eye, and her dark hues turn to look outside the window, a gasp leaving her. "We're going Lotte World?!" There's clear excitement in her body. It's been years since the last time she visited the amusement park, and now she's there with Jinhae? "Wait... You did what?!" The surprise turns into pure shock, her entire body turning towards him. "The whole PARK?! How?!" It's another pinch me moment for her. Removing the seat belt, she gets out of the car and stands in front of it. The whole park is for them. "This is still not a dream?" || @urstriker

            " a movie studio ? why would i do that when we have one at homeee ? " jinhae resumes his teasing, tugging her up from her seat and wrapping his arm around the small of her back as he leads the way out of the restaurant, grin in place. he bows at the waiters as they pass them by, thanking them all for their service for the day. opening the car door for her, he waits until sooyoung is safely in before jogging over to the drivers side. " you really have no clue ? but don't worry. all answers will be addressed soon. " pulling away and driving out of the parking space, jinhae takes the nearest road to the highway. thankfully, their next destination wasn't too far from where his uncle's restaurant was. in the meantime, he is humming away to the song that was playing in the car's stereo system. " ah, why am i suddenly nervous. i've never done anything like this before honestly. " he confesses, feeling his chest race, so much so that he had to put a hand over it to calm himself. it truly was incomparable to that of the soccer match he participated in earlier. soon, they reach the place, cutting off the engine and looking at her, " looks familiar ? " of course it would, as it was lotte world. " i rented it out for the night. " jinhae follows up, laughing, it was almost absurd that he had rented out an amusement park for the night - but like he said, he wanted their first date to be special.

Despite the seriousness in his voice, Sooyoung can't help but giggle at his words, and she hides her mouth with both of her hands. "Sorry, sorry. You're smarter than him." She really has to watch the movie again, not recalling at all how stupid the prince actually is on it. But even without seeing the movie, the female likes to think Jinhae is a smart man who sucks at cooking. She finds herself once again frowning upon hearing his answer to her guesses. He said he wouldn't give it away, but she still hoped he would change his mind or it would be easy to tell from his face whether was she correct or not. But she sucks at reading expressions, and his words weren't helpful. So without a word, she continues to enjoy the dessert rather than entertaining the conversation. Yes, she's that eager to find out where they're going. But her actions are put to a halt when she hears the door open again, and his uncle comes in the room, just in time to see the empty tiramisu cup. For a second, her eyes go back and forth between the older man and his nephew, her smile a shy one. "It was so good. Especially the dessert. Thank you for the food." She says with a bow of her head, and her attention returns entirely to her date when he shows signs of being ready. Eagerly, she nods while standing up. "I'm ready." And excited. She pats the corners of her lips with the napkin she has before standing up, thanking his uncle again before walking next to him to reach for his hand. "I actually have another guess." A guess that makes her giggle a little. "A movie studio rented just for us." Hey, he got them a VIP room. It could be possible, right? || @urstriker

            " yaaaah, what do you mean pretend ?! i am smarter. " and the seriousness in jinhae's voice indicates that he will die on that hill if he had to. he was a stereotypical jock, that much was true, but he would put himself above disney princes - or at least some of them. when he heard her guesses, he couldn't help but smirk, making a face that feigns innocence, rolling his shoulders into a shrug. " ehhhh, i can't say. but hey, as soon as you finish your dessert, you won't have to wait any longer. " the nervousness is soon settling in him, hoping she's going to like his next surprise. winking at her when she affirms that she liked what he did, " noted, i'll keep that in mind for next time. " once again, his face brightens upon hearing that she wanted to come back more, " really ? you liked it that much ? oh then, we'll definitely come here more often. " and as if on cue, his uncle enters the room to check on the two, though he was more interested on what sooyoung had to say about the meal he's prepared. " oh come on uncle, she's my date, not yours. " joking around with the older man, he thanks him for making such an amazing meal, " we'll come back soon hm ? thanks again. " taking a sip from the champagne flute, jinhae stands and begins to prepare to head out, " you ready ? you're going to see if your guesses were right or not ! "

She furrows her brows upon hearing his insult towards the prince. She wants to defend him or at least have some sort of memory of him to compare the two, but to be honest, she remembers nothing despite being a huge fan of the movie. "We can pretend you're waaaay smarter than him." She finally says with a chuckle, but the frown of hers doesn't disappear when he challenges her to think of a place where they will go next. Another long hum in thought leaves between her lips. "The place where we were looking at the star?" Or more like they were meant to, and she ended up sleeping in the end. "To the beach?" She doesn't know where that suggestion came from. Maybe it's another place of hers where she would like to be on a date. Sooyoung waits for the waiters to leave the room again before shaking her head in answer to his question. "No." It's a firm one. "I liked what you did." Which is why she lost her mind in the first place. She takes a small spoon in her hand to have a little bit of the tiramisu on the tip of it, and she puts it in her mouth, her taste buds once again exploding when a new flavor is greeting them. "We need to come here more often." Maybe she's saying that because of the tiramisu that she keeps eating, and clearly, the female has a second stomach for desserts.

         jinhae’s frown slowly forms as she thinks, falling for her act and even thinking that she wouldn’t agree to him being her prince eric. features immediately relaxing though when she finally gives in, “ nice. but prince eric was a little dumb in the original movie, so. maybe i’ll be less dumber than him. “ nodding, jinhae wasn't sure if he even had the details right, as he wasn't that big of a disney movie fan. he then gestures at her with his hand, almost as if he was opening up a challenge, a small smile evident, “ yeah, why not. try to guess where we’re going next. i want to see what kind of ideas you have currently. don't worry, i won't give any hints if you get it right or not because i still want it to be a surprise. " crossing his arms over his chest and leans back on the chair, he hums and looks over at her. he broke out into a laugh at her getting shy over his gesture, " aw but where's the fun in that ? besides, i thought it would be sweet. did you want me to hand over a napkin next time, then ? " he asks curiously, thanking the waitresses that came in, he takes the small tea fork from the plate and starts digging into the dessert. " hmmm . . so good. " happy that his sweet tooth craving was satisfied, jinhae looks at sooyoung as per usual, observing if she liked the dessert or not.

this was the first time the majority of these people were meeting jinhae, yet they were all acting as if they had been friends for ages — even going as far as planning to share embarrassing childhood pictures and little snippets of their personal lives. although it was unexpected, seunghyun had to admit that he was rather impressed with how easily the other had made himself comfortable & fit right in. he really was quite... charming, was he not? the lifeguard caught himself thinking about these things as kyungtae talked about their past and soobin chatted away about figure skating, but he was quick to shake them off his head, wondering what the hell was wrong with him to be having such thoughts at that moment.

his attention returned to the conversation when he spoke about his dad, seunghyun's eyes settling on jinhae and observing him for a moment. " that sucks, i'm sorry. " he knew a long time had probably passed since that happened, but that didn't mean it was any less frustrating. " i suppose i can understand the urge to stick it to the man in that case. " he shrugged lightly, seemingly changing his mind about the whole setting things on fire talk now that he knew a bit about the reason behind it — or rather, could make an educated guess based on what he heard so far. " and yeah, it's not so bad around here, i guess. even though i have to deal with these assholes almost every day. " seunghyun added playfully, sticking his tongue out at his friends, who immediately started calling him out on his bullshit, with soobin being the one to voice out their comments in one sentence — please, your life would be so fucking boring without us in it, you little bitch!

was he a little too comfortable now with the arm around his shoulders? maybe so, but as seunghyun continued to sip on his beer, he felt less and less inclined to pull away, as if he had almost forgotten the position he was in at that moment. even the nudge to his cheek was accepted without complaint now, which was truly incredible development considering how he had acted around the other before. " he says that about everyone because he's just projecting. " seunghyun retorted, not missing a chance to poke fun at his friends, knowing very well that joohyuk would very much embrace such a label. looking up to the other, he raised his brows in surprise. " like tonight? "

            reaching over the table to give kyungtae a handshake at his proposition, jinhae triumphantly grins at it all. " yes, i would like that. i can all show you my videos from when i used to compete in figure skating t- " and before he's even able to finish his sentence, jinhae is met with soobin's joyous reaction upon hearing the fact that he used to be one. shaking his head with a smile, the soccer player had always felt a little shy to share this part about his life, but happy that there was someone there who could relate, " yes, i used to compete too. but, my dear ol' dad made me stop. "

clearing his throat, as regrets start to flood in at the thought of his dad making him give up on something he loved just because it did not seem ' manly ' enough for him. seunghyun's words also pique his interest, but once again, this wasn't the type of place one could engage in deep conversations in. " i see. i'm sure you don't regret coming home though ? seeing as you have a great set of people around you. " he could also see the change in kyungtae's face upon hearing his dad, playing it off with a chuckle, he looks at seunghyun, " let's just say, the reason why i set things on fire at parties is because of him. he pisses me off, so, any chance i could get to mess with him. i take. " he explains, brows wriggling and all.

jinhae keeps his arm over his shoulder, his comment making him smile even more, as he uses his knuckles to nudge seunghyun's cheek lightly, " oh, don't worry. you're all those other things too. " he frankly states, now brows raising at his comment about the robots as he couldn't believe that seunghyun was going along with it, " sure, of course, the robots. " cue his boisterous laugh at joohyuk's comment, " looks like i'm doing something right then. " he says proudly, " but hey, if you're all not doing anything, you're all free to come visit my house and hang out there. " house, of course, was putting it lightly. jinhae loved having people over too as he was always alone in there. | @wcvensouls

" tch, so stubborn. " seunghyun shook his head lightly at the other's words, but hardly sounded mad about it. at this point, he had finished cleaning up jinhae's knuckles and began putting on a few bandaids on it, even though they probably wouldn't last very long in place. having put the other's hand on his leg as he worked on it, seunghyun simply placed it down once he was finished and began putting everything back into the first aid kit. " you talk as if i have a job interesting enough to be worth watching. " the lifeguard scoffed with a playful tone. however, when asked if he wanted to get food after work, he hesitated for a moment, chewing on his bottom lip as he thought it over. i mean, how bad can it be? surely it'll be fine. or at least that's what he told himself before finally responding. " uh... sure, we can do that. i don't know if you'll enjoy the kind of places i usually go to, though. they are kind of... not fancy. " that was the best way he found to put it.

         " and i would do it again. " he grumbles, lips pouted out. he wanted to add to that and say he would do it again if anyone tried to cross seunghyun again, but he kept quiet, just staring down at the hands that were hard at work patching him up. this was a good thing, because otherwise jinhae would have possibly just left the bruises alone. " do you want to go get food together ? " now his eyes trail up to his face, studying his features as if he hadn't memorized them already with the amount of staring he's been doing every time he was at the club. in fact, before meeting seunghyun, he rarely frequented the place. but now it felt like it was just part of his everyday routine, especially on the days when he didn't have a soccer match going on. " nah, it won't be boring cause i just get to watch you at work. " he laughs, knowing how stalker-y that sounded, but it was simply the truth. " so, you up for getting food with me after your shift ? i'll let you choose the place and everything. "

before soobin could say anything more about old photos, seunghyun was quick to shut that down by reminding him he had a great amount of embarrassing photos of the figure skater in his possession too, photos he would gladly share to anyone asking were he to do what he had implied. knowing just how much dirt they both had on each other after growing up together, soobin quickly relented with a little pout, complaining that his friend was no fun.

at this point, everyone was getting a little bit tipsy with their drinks, seunghyun included — which made him a lot more prone to just sharing things about himself to someone he had just gotten to know. " it's just me and my mom now, so yeah. " he nodded as he responded, sipping on his own drink too, which was nearly over now. the answers were still vague, but it was enough to shed some light into the lifeguard's private life — besides, the club didn't seem like the right time to get so deep into such a conversation, after all.

he really should have thought better before saying that sentence, especially knowing what kind of friends he had. however, seunghyun had blurted it out without thinking, only realizing how it sounded when he heard them all break out in loud laughs. immediately, he felt his face grow red — which only got worse with jinhae's absurd response. eyes widened and heart raced when his gaze followed the other's hand moveing so close to his zipper, feeling as if he was entirely capable of actually doing that despite where we were. it wasn't until jinhae sat back down that seunghyun was able to sigh in relief and formulate a proper response, brows furrowing deeply as he huffed. " you're all fucking nasty and i cannot stand you. " he grumbled, pout appearing on his lips again. " you know what i meant! now i don't wanna see them! " this time, it was joohyuk's time to pitch in again with a chuckle. come on, don't act like such a prude, seunghyunnie. we're all the same here~

            quirking a brow, his right one in particular, soobin's words as per usual pique jinhae's interest, " old photos, you say ? oh i definitely need to see said pictures eventually. " if he was going to befriend seunghyun's friends which he's been enjoying so far, he might as well make the most out of it, knowing that they would have some old photos of him somewhere considering how long they've all known each other.

finishing off the beer in his hand and reaching for another one from the table, jinhae listens closely, eyes just focused on seunghyun even as he's sipping from the newly-acquired bottle. " ah, that'll do it. are you the type who is close to your family ? " which was something he himself couldn't relate to. if he had a choice, he would be doing what seunghyun did and live elsewhere, away from the suffocating grasp of his father. but given his own circumstances, he knew that running away from his family won't solve anything.

when everyone at the table hears seunghyun's query about his robots, they collectively burst out laughing, jinhae included. " how big are they ? " he repeats, voice trailing off, pausing for a moment, he raised brows with a cheeky grin, " pretty big, actually. do you want to see ? " he proceeds to stand up from his place just to mess with him, hands on his pants' zipper before pulling them away as he wasn't actually going to go there. this response earns more chuckles and teasing from the rest of the group, wiggling his brows at seunghyun for an extra effect. sitting back down pretty quickly, he finally responds, " no but seriously, i guess i can show you them eventually. the robots, that is. if he were to think about it for longer than a minute, seunghyun couldn't believe he was actually going to go out for food with jinhae — not because he didn't think he'd want to ( although he definitely didn't expect this type of development when they had first met ) but because a part of him still couldn't believe he was actually that interested. after all, they came from very different worlds and the lifeguard just assumed that someone like jinhae would simply... have better things to do, probably. was that the reason why he was feeling a bit nervous? maybe so, but realizing the way his heart seemed to race a little as he walked into the locker room looking for him made seunghyun internally cuss himself for being so ridiculous over something so simple. it was just a meal, it was no big deal. " yeah, it was pretty calm after... the whole thing. " but then again, it would be hard to top the scene that had happened, so it was natural that things had died down right after. " i'll tell you the address — " following after the other, seunghyun couldn't help stopping for a moment once he stood in front of the car, eyebrows raising slightly. " this is your car? " the lifeguard shouldn't be surprised, yet he couldn't help it. " damn, okay. " he muttered to himself before quickly sliding into the car.

            opting to sit around in the locker rooms and wait, knowing that seunghyun's shift was almost over, jinhae finds himself mindlessly scrolling through the dozens of notifications. seeing numerous messages from his friends, asking him to go out tonight, he makes sure to decline every single one of the invites. after all, he had something better planned for the rest of the day. when he hears the familiar voice, he perks up, greeting him with one of his big smiles, " yeah ? alright. let's go. " slinging his school's gym bag over his shoulder, he walks out with the lifeguard, looking over at him. " so, how was the rest of your shift ? everyone was playing nice, it seemed. hopefully, that was the last of the annoying guys that will come through the club. " he comments, looking over at seunghyun and seeing the bruise on his face, the sight alone drawing a frown to his features. " oh, my car's this way. " jinhae points to the left side of the parking garage in the lower level of the club. " you'll have to show me where to go hm ? " not forgetting his manners, he pulls the passenger seat door to his luxury SUV, gesturing for him to get in, smile still in place. | @wcvensouls
