9 & 4 for the ask game?? 🫶🏼
4. mythical creature you think/believe is real?
The universe is pretty big, there’s a chance other life forms are out there. I don’t necessarily believe it, but the idea that we’re completely and utterly alone is a little unnerving to me sometimes.
9. do you have a skincare routine (and how many steps is it)?
In the morning: 1. Cleansing (only if I’m going to wear make-up or wore retinol the night before). I use a AHA & BHA cleanser from tart! 2. Serum (Hyaluronic acid). The Ordinary one is cheap and good! 3. Moisturizer; I use the Barrier+ Triple Lipid-Peptide cream from Skinfix+ right now and it’s literally so so good. 4. Sunscreen (always)! The La Roche-Posay 30+ one is pretty good! In the evening: 5. Cleansing (same stuff) but I usually double-cleanse at night 6. Serum (same stuff) + NuFace if I’m feeling fancy 7. Moisturizer (same stuff) 8. Retinol (only 2x a week) 9. Lash Serum (I use it on my eyebrows too). The one from The Ordinary is so good and cheap! I used to get lash lifts and don’t anymore, because mine have grown so long!!
#I didn't plan to go this much into detail lmao#but skincare is so overly complicated these days#use retinol and sunscreen bbs <3#or don't I can't tell you what to do#answered

Skincare For Oily Skin
New Post has been published on https://skin-care-routine.com/skin-care-routine/skincare-for-oily-skin/
Skincare For Oily Skin
A. Skincare Routine for Oily Skin
A few weeks ago, I wrote a post on how to determine your skin type so that you can customize a skin care routine with products that are best for your specific skin. Then, a week later, I also wrote a post on skin care routines for dry skin. This week’s post is a continuation of these two posts. This is the third entry in the “Skin care routine” series. I strongly recommend that you read the previous posts, as they will help you better understand this post. Skin types can also change over time. Even if your skin is oily now, it doesn’t mean it will be oily forever. Reading all the posts in this series will help you understand all skin types and be prepared in case your skin (maybe) changes one day.
This week we are focusing on oily skin. Oily skin looks oily, can have a rough texture and tends to have very large visible pores. Most people experience a slight increase in sebum production during the warmer months. Whether you always have oily skin or if the weather has changed your skin, with the right skin care products, you can keep oiliness under control and improve your skin’s overall health.
1. Morning routine
a. Cleaner
In contrast to dry skin, oily skin cannot do without morning cleansing. Dirt, excess oil and stains have accumulated on your skin at night and can clog your pores if not removed (with care). Start your morning routine with a mild water-based cleanser to start your day with a new canvas. When you start with a clean face, the following skin products may also work better.
b. Peeling
Oily skin is particularly prone to dead skin cells, blackheads and clogged pores. In addition, environmental damage can cause the surface of the skin to become opaque, rough and irregular, in addition to worsening expression lines. To avoid clogged pores and rough skin, it is important that you exfoliate your skin regularly (2 to 3 times a week) with a mild scrub. Chemical peels like AHAs and BHAs increase cell turnover to lighten dark spots and radiate opaque skin, while physical peels refine skin texture.
c. Toner
Oily skin toners should do essentially the same thing as dry skin toners. You must remove dirt and makeup, prepare your skin for the next steps in your skin care routine, and make your skin absorb more active ingredients from the products you later apply to your skin. A good tonic for oily skin will look oily and shiny without drying out your skin. Look for a tonic that refines skin texture and reduces pores while maintaining the skin’s moisture balance. If you have other skin problems, such as pigmentation or irritation, you can look for a toner that performs several functions at the same time (refine, lighten, soothe).
d. Targeted treatments: serums / essences / ampoules
Use this step to address your skin problems. When you feel your skin needs hydration, use a moisturizing treatment. If you want to fight expression lines, use an anti-aging treatment. If you want to lighten your skin, use a whitening treatment. My advice would be to adhere to more watery and lighter treatments that are easier to apply to oily skin.
e. Moisturizer and eye cream
Seal all the nutrients you have just put on your skin with a light moisturizer. Use gel-like emulsions or moisturizers, as richer creams can clog pores and make your skin even brighter. If you have sensitive or irritated skin, look for moisturizers with soothing and calming properties to help relieve irritation. Then, look for a light eye cream to moisturize and protect your sensitive eyes.
f. Sun protection
I will repeat what I wrote about sunscreen in the post “Dry skin care routine” because I think sunscreens are an important step in skin care and I don’t want to give up sunscreen.
End your morning routine with a sunscreen to protect you from harmful ultraviolet rays and prevent premature aging. Depending on your skin tone, you can use a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. You can combine a moisturizer and sunscreen using a moisturizing sunscreen. Whichever sunscreen you use, be sure to apply it liberally! The general rule of thumb is to use half a teaspoon on your face. Note: Some BB creams and bases contain sunscreens, but the amount of BB cream that a normal person puts on the face is not enough to protect the skin all day. So don’t think you don’t need a separate sunscreen just because your base or BB cream has SPF. Unless you are putting half a teaspoon of foundation on your face, you should always use a separate sunscreen under your makeup to protect your skin.
g. Lip balm
Our lips have no sebaceous glands. That’s how we, fat girls, can also get dry lips. Keep your lips soft and hydrated with a moisturizing lip balm!
2. Night routine
a. Cleaner
Whether you wear makeup or not, if you have oily skin, you can always benefit from double cleaning at night. Oil-based cleaning agents dissolve excess sebum and makeup very easily and smoothly. First, remove dirt, grime and makeup with an oil-based cleanser, then use a water-based cleanser to clean your skin.
b. Toner
Don’t forget to prepare your skin with toner.
c. Peeling
You can also choose to exfoliate at night instead of in the morning. Peeling 2-3 times a week.
d. Sheet masks
Bed sheet masks are pre-cut fabrics soaked with light serums and contain a variety of ingredients suitable for the skin, such as antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, hyaluronic acid etc. They are small mini facial treatments to take home. There are masks for every skin problem. moisturizing, moisturizing, nourishing, cleansing, anti-aging, brightening, as you call it. Choose a sheet mask that addresses your specific skin problems. Try to use sheet masks 1-2 times a week for best results.
e. Targeted treatments: serums / essences / ampoules
Treat your skin with a concentrated treatment that can work its magic on your skin while you sleep. On days when you use a leaf mask, you can skip this step because leaf masks are essentially serums on leaves.
f. Moisturizer and eye cream
Keep your skin hydrated at night with a nourishing moisturizer.
g. Lip balm
Moisten your lips with a thick layer of lip balm for soft, smooth lips in the morning.
Like last time, I will end this post with a warning. We are often asked what products we would recommend for certain skin types. When writing these posts, we’d like to help if you’re not sure what products to use on your skin. All the products mentioned in this post are just examples of products that we love and would recommend for oily skin. Do not feel obliged to buy all these products. We are not saying that only these products are suitable for oily skin. If you have products that you like and work for you, keep using them. But if you want to try something new, the products mentioned in this post are all incredible and 100% recommended!
B. A Daily Skin Care Routine for Oily Skin: 4 Key Steps
We offer products that we believe are useful to our readers. If you buy through the links on this page, we can earn a small commission. Here is our process. Oily skin is one of the most common skin problems. It offers some unique challenges, like glowing skin and acne. The good news? With the right products and skin care, these problems can be less of a problem.
To eliminate the guesswork when caring for oily skin, we look for some skin care specialists. We specifically asked her to share her main tips for developing a daily skin care regimen for oily skin. The result: a simple four-step routine that you can use in the morning and evening to keep your skin healthy, clean and radiant.
1. Clean within the morning and afternoon
The most important step in any skin care routine is to cleanse it. “And if your skin tends to be oily, you can probably tolerate more cleansing,” says Dr. Sandra Lee, also known as Dr. Pimple Popper, founder of SLMD Skincare. “While most people should wash their faces in the morning and at night, it is especially important for people with oily skin to clean their faces thoroughly in the morning,” says Lee.
Even though you feel your skin was still clean the night before, Lee says that at night your skin is busy removing skin cells and producing oil. For this reason, it is recommended to wash with a good exfoliating detergent in the morning and at night. She likes to use detergent or wash with salicylic acid. “This will really help to remove excess oil and dead skin to prevent build-up in the pores,” adds Lee.
2. Use toner
Once your skin is clean and free of makeup, dirt and oil, Lee suggests that you use an exfoliating tonic that contains:
Salicylic acid
Glycolic acid
Lactic acid
3. Treat your skin
This step will depend on your specific skin problems. However, if you are prone to acne, Lee said to use benzoyl peroxide or sulfur during the day to reduce oil production and prevent breakouts. At night, Lee recommends a retinol product to keep pores clean and skin glowing. Some of his favorite skin care products are BP Lotion, Sulfur Lotion and Retinol Serum.
Other popular over-the-counter retinol products are Roc Retinol Correxion Night Cream, CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum and Paula’s Choice 1% Retinol Booster. A quick note for people with oily skin: Lee likes to remind people with oily skin that they are really lucky. “When you have more oil on your skin, you will probably avoid wrinkles and fine lines for a little longer than someone with dry skin,” she says.
4. Moisten in the morning and afternoon
Hydration is a very important step when you have oily skin. “There are some beliefs that you shouldn’t or shouldn’t need hydration if you have oily skin,” says Lee. However, that couldn’t be further from the truth. “All skin types need a moisturizer. However, if you have oily skin, you should be more careful with the type of moisturizer you use, ”says Lee.
Your recommendation? Look for a moisturizer that:
Light
Oil free
In a watery base
Any moisturizer formulated for acne prone skin should meet these criteria.
5. Other steps to help oily skin
Developing a daily skin care regimen that works for you is the first step in treating oily skin.
After making this a habit, you can incorporate other, less common steps into your routine, such as those described below.
6. Use absorbent paper
If your skin seems to glow all day, the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) recommends using absorbent papers to control excess oil.
To do this, press the paper gently against your skin for a few seconds. This should help to absorb most of the oil. Repeat all day if necessary.
7. Wash after exercise
`
In addition to the morning and evening routine, the AAD recommends washing your face after training. This is especially important if you don’t plan on taking a shower anytime soon. Washing your face can remove the sweat, oil and dirt that can accumulate during exercise.
This need not be an elaborate four-step process. Just wash your face with your regular cleanser and apply a light layer of moisturizer. The sooner you can do this after training, the better.
8. Choose products wisely
Dr. Adarsh Vijay Mudgil, founder of Mudgil Dermatology in New York, says he must choose wisely when buying skin care products. “Avoid products with alcohol, which paradoxically can lead to increased oil secretion. Also, avoid anything that is thick or greasy like cocoa butter, shea butter and petroleum jelly, ”he says. His favorites include the CeraVe and Neutrogena foam facial cleansers.
9. Use sunscreen outdoors
Make sure to use sunscreen outdoors with a sun protection factor of at least 30. Mudgil recommends using a sunscreen that contains titanium dioxide or zinc oxide. These ingredients can help prevent the appearance of acne. For simplicity, try using a moisturizer with sunscreen every day to always be protected.
10. The final result
If you have oily skin, daily skin care is the best way to reduce rashes and control glare. Cleaning, hardening, treating and moisturizing your skin in the morning and evening are important steps in your daily skin care routine. Choosing the right products, using sunscreen, using absorbent paper and washing your face after training can also reduce oiliness and keep your skin clean and healthy.

PCA Skin and home routine

PCASkin
First off, Happy New Year! Hope everyone had an amazing Holiday season!
So, here to review professionally used treatments by PCA Skin as used and recommended by esthetician, Mindy Kim. Grab your favorite cup of coffee or tea, and enjoy the read.
After my review on Ms. Kim’s practice and my experience with her. I decided to add more detail into the products she provided me, PCA Skin and how I’m currently maintaining my skin at home.
Since first meeting with Mindy, she has given me product recommendations, and I’ve taken it all in and added to my collection of skincare. She herself uses PCA Skin to really treat the skin in the utmost effective way.. although it may not be a Korean based company *which I’m more inclined to use these days as I’ve found them to work better with my skin. Even so PCA does wonders and gives great results. Not only professionally, but also in its domestic use.
Here I’ll start with my at my home care. As you already know, I use PURITO, but PCA plays a very large part in my daily routine, as it is a large sum of my cosmetic drawer currently.
So, to start this off...
PCA Skin BPO 5% Cleanser
This products ingredients really give your skin deep cleaning *Much like the BB cleanser, but this (BPO 5% cleanser) is much stronger as it’s formulated to handle acne breakouts as well as preventing future ones.
It also has deep cleansing for pores and helps remove dead skin cells, soothe irritated and inflamed blemishes, allowing the skin to properly heal.
Main Ingredients
Benzoyl peroxide: penetrates pores to eliminate existing acne lesions and prevent future breakouts.
Phytic acid – a gentle exfoliating agent.
Gluconolactone – a calming, moisturizing ingredient that promotes a clear complexion.
(1) Squeezing out about a dime-sized amount on to hand, create a lather (2) Then while washing, massaging in gentle circular motions. (3) Followed by rinsing with lukewarm water, then pat drying with a clean hand towel.
I use this cleanser on a daily bases, it works wonders and is great with my pH balancer. And after a heavy workout, I like to wash my face with the BPO cleanser, followed by the pH balancer. *Safely killing two birds with one stone, whilst taking a cool shower.
The consistency is similar to most of my cleansers.. it is somewhere between gel and watery. But add some water and you’ve got a great way to make the surface of you skin sleek and safe to massage. Personally I massage for a good 2-3minutes. *Fun fact about me! I like to make playlists of my favorite songs to wash my face to and also use it as some what of a timer for myself.. Its a nice wind down at the end of the day. And let me tell you, washing my face is seriously my favorite part of everyday.
On to the next part of the routine:
PCA Skin Hydration Serum
This serum contains a specialized blend of antioxidants and moisture-binding ingredients to help plump, soften and hydrate the skin. It also helps create moisture while relieving inflammation. Its really great for dry skin, but also beneficial to for all skin types.. and it’s really handy to have during the colder and dryer months of the year.
I’ve personally found this Hydration Serum really amazing with how exceptional it is. Containing Glycerin, Sodium hyaluronate, and Sodium PCA, this serum is really one to keep on hand. Being slightly more stable then water in consistence, once it’s absorbed, it leaves the skin feeling soft, hydrated and healthy. I’ve found it to really aid in moisture retaining, in both evenings and during the day.
Main Ingredients
Glycerin – an ingredient that holds moisture in the skin for hydration.
Sodium hyaluronate – holds 1,000 times its weight in water, playing an important role in skin hydration.
Sodium PCA –it is considered an important humectant, this is due to the fact that it is extremely water absorbent and can hold several times its weight in water, thus helping to reduce loss of moisture, through evaporation.
I use this in the correction step of my routine. Applying a little more then a pea-size amount evenly over the entire face and neck, patting the serum in for absorption.
Total Strength Serum
This serum is specifically made to help minimize fine lines, wrinkles and pores while firming, tightening and strengthening aging skin... it really is a product of its word. With Palmitoyl tripeptide-38, Epidermal growth factor (EGF), Silybum marianum extract and Sodium hyaluronate its a product that really packs a bit of a punch my friend.
Main Ingredients
Palmitoyl tripeptide-38 – stimulates collagen, and helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Epidermal growth factor (EGF) – improves the appearance of aging skin.
Silybum marianum extract – a potent antioxidant from milk thistle.
Sodium hyaluronate – a naturally occurring ingredient with exceptional moisturizing qualities; it has the ability to hold 1,000 times its weight in water and plays an important role in skin hydration.
I also use this as part of the correction part of the routine. *Again applying about a pea-sized amount to entire face and neck.
*The consistency is about the same as the hydration serum..
Next up is..
Hyaluronic Acid Boosting Serum
As it states, this smoothing blend of ingredients provides deep, long-lasting hydration on three levels: on the surface, deeper in the skin and by increasing the skin’s own hyaluronic acid production.
Personally speaking, I loved adding this to my daily. It really boosts hydration. With hyaluronic acid and sodium hyaluronate, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, HA-Pro Complex, ceramides, niacinamide this is definitely one to have in the skincare enthusiasts plethora of products. *sadly I'm in need of a new bottle, cause I'm all out.
Main Ingredients
Hyaluronic acid and sodium hyaluronate – attract and hold 1,000 times their weight in water on the surface of the skin for instant smoothing and hydration.
Hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid – penetrates deeper into the skin, attracting and holding moisture that’s already in the skin, and plumps fine lines from below the skin surface.
HA-Pro Complex™ – a proprietary blend that stimulates the production of the skin’s own hyaluronic acid and delivers 24-hour hydration. It leads to long-term hydration and anti-aging.
Ceramides – supports the renewal of the skin’s natural protective layer and forms an effective barrier against moisture loss.
Niacinamide – a potent, yet calming antioxidant that reduces moisture loss in the skin and improves barrier function. It also reduces redness and promotes an even skin tone.
On to the next product…
C&E Strength Max
Providing maximum strength 20% pure vitamin C and 5% pure vitamin E to aid in protecting skin from damage, strengthening and smoothing the skin, whilst also helping to fight against signs of aging.
Main Ingredients
Vitamin C – an antioxidant that minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while promoting an even skin tone.
Pure vitamin E – a powerful antioxidant.
Vitamin A – promotes an even skin tone while minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
(1) Applying a pea-sized amount to the face and neck. (2) If applying in the morning be sure to use the appropriate SPF and moisturizer in the evenings.
This C&E is one of my favorites *next to COSRX Triple C Lightening Liquid.. packed with vitamin C, pure vitamin E, as well as vitamin A, this is one of the good gal pals for the skin. Using this in my daily, I’ve really seen a difference in my fine lines around my eyes and some pigmentation caused by old acne scars.
Intensive Clarity Treatment: 0.5% pure retinol night
This intensive retinol treatment is probably one of the most amazing things ever. I’ve been using it every other night as suggested by the wonderful and beautiful Mindy Kim, and its great for those of us prone to acne breakouts for a dramatically clearer complexion.
Main Ingredients
Retinol (vitamin A) – vitamin A helps promote a clear complexion and an even skin tone.
Salicylic Acid (2%) – clears existing acne blemishes and prevents future breakouts.
Lilac leaf cell culture extract – a potent antioxidant.
Bakuchiol –an effective complement to retinol for fighting breakouts.
(1) Applying a pea-sized amount in the evening only, and just gently patting that into the skin.
Regardless of wether you’re using this during the day or not, retinol is sun sensitive, so be sure to use broad spectrum SPF during the day.
Containing retinol (vitamin A), salicylic acid (2%), lilac leaf cell culture extract and bakuchiol.. the ingredients in this treatment are there to diminish acne blemishes, preventing breakouts, promoting clearer and a more even skin complexion. Honestly another product to add to the drawer or shelf.
Sheer Tint Broad Spectrum SPF 45
This light, silky broad spectrum sunscreen is formulated with a universal tint, to match most skin tones. It adds a really beautiful glow to the skin.
I personally really love this sunscreen. Even though its only a tint, it provides a nice amount of coverage to the skin and any slight discoloration your skin may have. I love having this in my routine.
Main Ingredients
Titanium dioxide – provides broad spectrum UV protection by reflecting, scattering and absorbing UV rays.
Zinc oxide – provides broad spectrum UV protection by reflecting, scattering and absorbing UV rays.
Ubiquinone (CoEnzyme Q10) – a potent antioxidant that fights free-radical damage.
(1) After finishing up your routine, smooth onto the skin, allowing it to absorb for 15 mintues before sun exposure. (2) And if you’re not wearing makeup feel free to reapply every so often.
BODY CARE
Okay, so, this next product is amazing….
Blemish Control Bar
This bar saved my acne ridden chest, shoulders and upper back *all areas my hair touches often. Upon a visit to Mindy’ she noticed my shoulders and chest had some unwanted friends… after taking a little look she pointed me to this beauty and I’m hooked. I use it regularly especially during my quick showers after a workout.
(1)Moisten the enclosed sponge and create a foaming lather. (2)Cleanse affected area, leaving on for about 2 minutes. (3)Rinse with warm water and pat dry.
Salicylic acid – clears existing blemishes and prevents future acne breakouts.
Azelaic acid – promotes a clear complexion and an even skin tone.
Eucalyptus leaf oil – purifies the skin, helping to remove impurities for a clear complexion.
This has salicylic acid, azelaic acid and eucalyptus leaf oil, all of which are great in the treatment of acne. Clearing existing blemishes as well as the prevention of future breakouts.. penetrating deep to purify and cleanse oily clogged pores, while also helping promote a clearer and much more even skin tone.
FINAL THOUGHTS
All of these products I've used have played a major role in the final process of clearing up my scars and helping to keep my acne at bay. I have so many things to be grateful for, but I’ll name two things, (1) The help I received from Mindy over the last couple months. (2) And all the amazing products that have assisted in the up keep of my skin.
So, I‘ll give you a quick idea of the scent of these. Most, if not all have really decent smells to them. I’d say the only one that, at least to me, is a little strange, but not horrible... that’s the Intensive Clarity Treatment: 0.5% pure retinol.. its not a really bad scent, but it does take some getting used to my friend. *My friend said it smelt sort of like hair chemical, and I have to kind of agree with her on that.
NOTES:
You really should be aware of the pricing of this brand, as it’s not cheap. In fact it is quite the investment. With product ranging from as low as $28 to $158… now its not bad at all, if investing in your skins health is a priority for you. Which it has become for me. It’s not crazy prices, considering these products all work great.
All in all, PCA is great if you want to really treat and maintain your hard work and efforts. I love PCA Skin, and Mindy for introducing me to the brand. Highly and happily recommend this product to everyone honestly.
*If you’re interested in visiting a PCA certified professional in your area, visit the official PCA skin website and type in your zip and find one near you.
Also if you're in the Miami area, I'll leave the link to Mindy’s site here if you're interested.. if so, let her know I sent you~
And that about wraps up this little review and routine here
Much love to you all and huge hugs.. Love yourself always

The moisturizer is free from oils, parabens, and fragrance. Understanding SPF The sun-protecting factor or SPF is the rating system that determines how well a beauty product blocks UVB radiation. There are two ways you can understand this. One, an SPF rating can tell you how much longer a product can protect your skin from burning when using the product than when the surface is exposed directly to the sun rays. A good example, a product that has an SPF of 30 can protect your skin from burning 30 times longer than when the surface is under the exposure of sunlight without the product. The second way you may understand SPF rating is by the percentage of UV radiation that it filters from reaching the skin. You need to know that no product is capable of blocking out 100 percent of the sun’s radiation. You should always avoid products that claim to be 100 percent effective. An SPF of 15 can filter out on 93 percent of the suns UVB rays, an SPF of 30 can protect against 97 percent of the UVB rays while that of 50 can get only 98 percent of the sunrays. Even though some products may have an SPF of 100 or higher, the amount of protection they can offer is only marginal from the SPF of 50. Even so, the protection may not be beneficial if you miss some part of the skin or if you do not apply enough sunscreen. Also, you should note that after 2 hours of use, the original amount of SPF reduces. It is therefore essential to continually reapply sunscreen after every 2 hours depending on the time you will be on exposure to the sunlight. If you get sweat or become wet, you need to reapply the product even if it says on the package that it is water or sweat resistant. It is important to realize that SPF only deals with UVB rays that burn and lead up to cancer. However, UVA rays are very much a concern as well as they are responsible for speeding up the aging process of the skin that includes wrinkles, sagging of the skin, leathering and many other effects. It is therefore vital that when selecting a moisturizer with SPF, you choose one that offers broad-spectrum protection with UVB and UVA protecting qualities. Choosing Between a Moisturizer with SPF vs. Using Two Separate Products Is it better to apply a moisturizer, let it sink in then apply an SPF product on top of that or should you acquire a moisturizer with SPF and use only once? Mostly, the decision comes down to what preferences you have. It is good to note that if you plan on spending your time indoors, you do not need to use any product with SPF, a moisturizer will do just fine. However, when you are out in the sun, it is convenient to get a moisturizer that can do both jobs for you. Not only can you save time, but it also ensures that you do not forget to apply sunscreen and protect your skin. Whenever you choose a moisturizer with SPF, there are several factors you should always consider. Always check the label to see how much SPF it can deliver. Make sure that you choose a product that ranges between an SPF of 15 and 30. Such moisturizers tend to be lighter and easier to apply, and they are suitable for a daily application. Also, it is crucial that you ensure it offers broad-spectrum protection. A moisturizer with SPF will work even if you have oily skin. The formula of the oil is specially made not to block the skin pores. Always look for moisturizers with SPF that are noncomedogenic, oil-free and fragrance-free in case of sensitive skin. Ensure that your moisturizer has ingredients that give it moisturizing properties such as glycerin, hyaluronic acid, and ceramides. The product should also be water resistant and able to protect the skin for a specific duration of time. Always remember that regardless of the season, the sun can cause damage to the surface at any time. You should therefore always wear a moisturizer with SPF every time you go out. How to Apply a Face Moisturizer with SPF Wash your face – If you are intent on using the moisturizer on your face, you have to wash your face to allow the ingredients from the moisturizer to adequately penetrate your skin. You can use a face wash to get rid of the dirt, oil, and grease that may be resting on the surface and may prevent the moisturizer from working correctly. Begin with the Moisturizer with SPF – if your beauty regimen consists of other products, you should begin with the Moisturizer with SPF and finally end with the other products. SPF moisturizers are made for use during the day since they help with protecting the sin from sunrays. Therefore, you should always wash them off before you sleep and apply the appropriate night cream. How to Apply- you do not need to smother a large amount of the Moisturizer with SPF on the skin. Just use an adequate amount and cover your entire face remembering the hidden areas behind your ears. For the best results, it is best to use the moisturizer 15 minutes before exposing yourself to sunlight so that you can allow it to absorb into the skin and start working correctly. Always remember that after every 2 hours the SPF will reduce. So, remember to carry the product with you if you are looking at spending several hours out in the sunlight. Read Next: Best Sunscreen for Face Reviews Conclusion When choosing a moisturizer with SPF, the most crucial aspect to consider is the SPF that the product provides. For satisfactory results, always select a product with an SPF of 15 and above. The moisturizer should also be able to protect against both UVA and UVB rays of the sun. Ensure that it has properties that are as well able to prevent the dehydration of the skin. It should be free from chemicals that can irritate the skin. For the best skin results ensure that you cover all your surface with the moisturizer. 3 Routines : Skin Care Along With Your Hectic Work Schedule

skincare routine that brings about healthy skin, just like exercise, is a daily requirement which not even your busy work schedule can excuse you from performing daily. If there is a Tabata exercise that can slim you down and give you a 30-minutes worth of cardio exercise in just under five minutes, there is also a skincare routine that can give you healthy, beautiful skin, even if you’re doing it with one eye shut, in just under 5 minutes.
Don’t let your hectic work schedule hinder you from giving your skin the only care it deserves. Whether you are 20 or 40 or older, here is how your daily skincare routine should look like:
1.Daytime skincare routine Your daytime skincare routine must prioritize moisturization simultaneously with protection. Since your skin is exposed to UV, whether directly or indirectly, during your active hours, you should make sure to shield your skin from further sun-induced damage as well as from cell damaging free radicals. When you have Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Niacinamide, you may do without a skin brightening cream.
Follow these steps:
Step 1: Cleanse and tone. Wash your face, neck and chest with a mild cleanser and lukewarm water. Follow through with an alcohol-free toned.
Step 2: Apply your ampoule, essence and serum. Make sure it contains high levels of antioxidants, other vitamins and minerals or peptides. Your daytime cream must exclude retinols which breakdown easily when exposed to sunlight.
Step 3: Moisturize some more. If you have dry skin, most especially, you should layer your thicker moisturizer. However, if you have oily skin, you may skip this step.
Step 4: Put on your eye cream. For 20-something skin, this step is not necessary but, for skin that’s 30 and beyond, this should be integrated in your routine.
Step 5: Cover Up. Use a BB cream that’s sheer, lightweight and grease-free. This product is multi-functional, in that, it acts as a moisturizer, sunscreen and a better alternative to thick and creamy foundations. If your cover up can’t seem to mask your dark spots get a Cosmelan treatment.
2. Nighttime skincare routine Your nighttime regimen must focus on skin repair and regeneration.
Follow this five-step process: Step 1: Cleanse and tone.
Step 2: Apply your prescription only retinoids. This step is only for those 40 years old and older.
Step 3: Apply your ampoule, essence and serum. This may contain retinols. If you have older skin, it wouldn’t hurt to have all three for your evening routine. Ampoules have the highest concentrations, mostly of just one ingredient like Vitamin C. Essences will have the second highest concentration, usually of a mix of ingredients just as a serum would but will less amounts.
Step 4: Put on your eye serum and cream. For skin 40 years and older, this step is a requirement.
Step 5: Top with moisturizer or Sign up the alpha hydroxy acids, glycolic acid, lactic acid and citric acid, to work up a more supple skin for you.
Step 6: Add in a skin brightening cream. Do this step only if hyper pigmented skin is your issue.
3.Nondaily skincare. There are certain steps in your skincare routine that you don’t have to do everyday. Nevertheless, doing such steps periodically can help amp up your daily skincare regimen for a skin that’s healthy and within your reach. Follow these tips to achieve healthy, glowing skin:
Tip No. 1: Exfoliate up to twice weekly. Exfoliating is not recommended daily or else, it will leave your skin dry and damaged. Use more concentrated forms of AHAs meant for at-home skin treatment and not as chemical peels. You may also use an exfoliating facial brush with very soft bristles.
Tip No. 2: Put on a mask. For just 15 to 20 minutes, you can give your skin a deeply nourishing treat with a mask. Always rinse with lukewarmwater only. Do this at least once every week.
Tip No. 3: Pay your dermatologist or local spa a visit. Ask for a Cosmelan treatment, an in-office mask procedure that brightens your overall complexion. If you have older skin, you may also want to periodically go in for a skin rejuvenation session.
Conclusion Healthy skin can also only be achieved by giving your lifestyle choices a punch — sleep well, eat right and exercise — it’s the only way you can enjoy beautiful skin despite your busy schedule.

Choosing A Good Night Cream Selecting a good night cream is very much dependent on the skin type and the ingredients in use. If you have oily skin that is prone to breakouts, you should work towards finding ways to reduce the spots that come about mostly due to the use of unnecessary body products. You should cleanse the skin being careful not to overstimulate it. Look for night creams that contain salicylic acid that the surface can use to control sebum and retinol. Also, you should ensure that the night cream is light and does not contain oils or clog the skin pores. The night cream has been known to have properties that help the skin to battle against aging. According to experts the skin ages in two way. Intrinsic and extrinsic. Intrinsic aging of the skin happens naturally. You cannot reverse the process; however, you may slow it down. Extrinsic, on the other hand, occurs when you expose your skin to harsh environmental pollutants, the rays of the sun and poor air conditioning or when you have poor lifestyle choices that later on lead to sagging skin and other skin aging condition. To protect your skin from early aging, always look for a night cream that comes with hyaluronic acid and resveratrol both of which are important in helping the skin maintain its moisture and keep it smooth and plump giving the surface a rather youthful glow. You should, however, know that hyaluronic acid is an ingredient you can find in very many different products. It has a substantial molecular weight that may not allow for deep skin penetration. Therefore, when choosing a night cream, it is best to consider products that contain micro hyaluronic acid that has a smaller molecular mass allowing it to penetrate deeper in the skin. Resveratrol is another antioxidant ingredient you should be on the look-out for. It is known for dealing with radicals on the skin surface and has been seen to have a synergistic effect with Vitamin E and boost the antioxidant capacity of the skin is as well regarded as a powerful anti-aging ingredient. During the cold seasons, the skin begins to lose moisture becoming rough and looking dull. The best way to help the skin regain its glowing and youthful appearance is by investing in a night cream that can quench the skin’s hydration. Look for a night cream that comes with glycerin or any other ingredient that attracts and retains moisture such as urea and niacinamide. You should as well look for parts that helps the skin to reduce the amount of moisture it loses. You can go for ingredients that help to nourish the skin’s barrier hence slowing down moisture loss and getting rid of dry skin. Tips to Selecting a Night Cream It is A Night Cream Not a Day Cream When selecting a night cream, it does not have to protect you from UV radiation. Always pick a cream without a sunscreen since you will only use it at night and not during the day. However, ensure that it contains active ingredients that are beneficial to your skin. Active Ingredients Dependent on the Skin When choosing a night cream, look for elements such as coffee bean extract, Serrat, Centella, Vitamin C and E, and licorice among other active ingredients. They should be highly concentrated to address the problems facing mature skin. The Cream should Be Light A light night cream can penetrate deep into the skin so that it can take effect immediately. Do not choose a cream that is thick and one that can only stay on the skin’s surface as it will give you an oily and greasy feel by morning. A thick cream may as well clog the skin pore leading to other skin problems occurring. Choose a Cream That Works Best with Your Skin You should achieve this is by performing a patch test to see if the cream will have any undesirable effects on your skin. Apply a small amount on the back side of your hand and observe to see the reaction. If there is any irritation or discomfort, you should cease immediate use. However, if the skin absorbs the cream without any adverse effects, you can continue using the cream. What to Avoid when Selecting a Night Cream It is risky to use creams that have an alcohol base especially for people with sensitive skin. A good cream should be free from Allergens, Parabens, chemicals, and intense fragrance that may irritate the skin when in use. Conclusion You should note that during the day, sunscreens, facial masks, and Moisturizers work to offer the skin with coverage and protection from the environmental factors. However, Night creams work at night to provide more intensive care to the skin surface as you rest restoring your cells and delivering the best benefits. It contains Vitamin C and Retinol that are concentrated since they work best out of the sun. Always scrub your face before using a night cream and after waking up. Expect to get the best results ever with the skin becoming silky and soft. Use a moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated afterward. Dermatologist Shares Insights for a Healthy Complexion
What’s my personal skincare routine like?
My skin care routine is diligent and purposeful. It’s based on the AM and PM cycle. I start with clean skin ready to maximally absorb specific actives. All my products are hypoallergenic.
In the morning, I first wash off my night products with my Natural Bar Soap or my pH balanced cleanser (Extremely Gentle) followed by my Rose toner. This preps my skin to absorb the next set of products.
Naturally Best Bar Soap
Extremely Gentle Foaming Facial Cleanser
Naturally Hydrating Pore-Minimizing Facial Toner
Next, I apply a high concentration and water based hyaluronic acid serum (Instantly Luminous) then high concentration green tea antioxidant (Green Tea Therapy) and an eye cream (Advanced Corrective).
Instantly Luminous Multi-Action Serum™
Green Tea Antixoxidant Skin Therapy™
Advanced Corrective Eye Cream™m
I top this antioxidant and hydration cocktail with a zinc oxide sunscreen that is a BB Cream (Suntegrity). It also hydrates and tints to act as my moisturizer and foundation. It is a sunscreen first and the other steps are nicely handled by this product so it saves me time.
Suntegrity 5-in-1 BB Cream SPF 30 Tinted Moisturizing Facial Sunscreen
My priority, however, is the broad spectrum SPF. Twice a week I use an exfoliating scrub instead of cleanser to wash my face (Bamboo and Clay Thermal Scrub).
Bamboo and Clay Thermal Exfoliating Facial Scrub
Two other times a week I top my Green Tea with a Vitamin C product and omit the eye cream (Professional Vitamin C Treatment Cream). If I wear makeup it is a pure mineral makeup powder. My complexion is pretty nice for a 60 year old blond Californian who tanned as a teen, so I don’t really need to soften or hide complexion flaws.
Vitamin C Anti-Wrinkle Professional Treatment Serum™C
At night I have started to remove my sunscreen and day products with grape seed oil and a warm cloth. This is a nice step that I’m borrowing from K-Beauty and my skin loves it. I then cleanse my skin with my gentle pH balanced cleanser and a Clarisonic.
If my skin is irritated by weather or my rosacea is threatening to flare up, I apply the Green Tea followed by my Daily Face Cream (Normal to Dry) boosted with my Omega Booster Oil.
If my skin is feeling tolerant I use my favorite anti-aging products – either tretinoin (prescription) or retinol. Tretinoin is in a hydrating base, but if I use the retinol, I hydrate by topping it with my Daily Face Cream and Booster Oil.
Daily Moisturizing Face Cream for Dry to Normal Skin™
I’m a big glycolic acid fan, but as I have gotten older, it is harder for my rosacea to tolerate regular glycolic acid products on my face. I used them in my 30s and 40s every morning. Now, I get this great ingredient into my routine by doing a glycolic acid peel at least once a month.
If I could only use three skincare products for the rest of my life, what would they be?
That’s easy, zinc oxide sunscreen, a professional green tea product and a retinoid.
What are my fave skincare brands and why?
I have my own skin care line and I mostly use them. The products are hypoallergenic yet highly function oriented, which fits my values and priorities. I also like simple natural products, such as grape seed oil for removing oil based sunscreen or makeup. I have used pure jojoba oil as a moisturizer too. These are hypoallergenic and functional options in skin care. Brands like Hauschka and Weleda have options that are natural, non-toxic and gentle for sensitive skin and deeply hydrating too. You do have to watch for allergens in some of their products. I love Suntegrity BB Cream Sunscreen and wear it daily. I was devoted to Clinique in my teen years and many of their products are both functional and hypoallergenic.
What are my top 3 skincare tips to take care of your skin?
Protect your exposed skin from the sun daily with sunscreen or clothing, and seek the shade. Sun breaks down your skin structure more than time does. Just say ‘no’ to skin sun exposure.
Focus on your skin from the inside out with a health veggie packed diet and regular exercise. Skip the daily junk food and empty calories, they show up on your complexion. Exercise makes your skin glow with vitality.
Create a complete skin care routine with compatible products. That means tick the boxes for Cleanse, Correct, Hydrate and Protect every day. You can do that as simply or as complexly as you want.
What skincare treatments (dermabrasion, lasers, etc.) do I regularly have done?
I have had a series of IPL (5) and do 2 a year on my face, neck, chest, hands and arms. This has made a huge difference for my skin. I do an ablative erbium laser face and neck treatment once or twice a year. I have a face full of Allergan injectable products and have for years – Botox on my upper face and hyaluronic acid and a Juvederm family of fillers on my 60 year old lower face. I appreciate Allergan’s product formulation technology and I think they offer the safest of all injectables so I don’t stray into other brands.
I do a glycolic acid peel on myself once a month and I like to get a facial with microdermabrasion about every 6 weeks.
My 60 year old fair skin grew up in California and tanned until my mid-20s. This sun damage would love to show up in my complexion as dull, wrinkled and spotty old lady skin. It takes effort to resist that.
What lifestyle habits do I have that keep my skin in top shape?
I eat mostly plants with only a small amount of animal foods in my diet such as goat yogurt/cheese and some meat. I have a glass of red wine with dinner every evening too! (Cured Italian meats are my guilty pleasure).
I have always exercised regularly, for both my physical and mental health. I get at least 150 minutes of cardio each week (brisk walk and lap swim at this age, but I did more intense cardio when I was young). I do yoga and Pilates every week too.
I spend time outdoors for the serenity and recharge it gives me.
Since undergoing treatment for BRCA breast cancer, I also occasionally take an afternoon nap with my dog. I make it a priority to get a good 8 hours of sleep too.
At 60, if I fall off this full wellness routine, my complexion starts to look as depleted as I feel.
What’s in my makeup bag?
Not much! I wear blinc mascara (I love their tubular technology. Any other mascara smears under my eyes the minute I put it on). I use my pure mineral makeup powders for eye shadows and blush. I line and fill in my lips with Hauschka lip liner, and top that with one of the shimmery Suntegrity CPR SPF lipsticks. Occasionally I apply my Baked Mineral Powder over my Suntegrity BB Cream SPF if I’m filming or will be in photos and want to have a more matte appearance to my skin.
