y'know after all these years i still kinda find it funny that tite has an easy out for mayuris look on account on him being a mad scientist and clearly modifying himself to have more tricks and gadgets that it's reasonable to think that his skin (nails, face and facial structure) and himself radically changed in to something decidedly non-humanoid as a result of his own experiments.

but nah. its canon that he probably spends like more than an hour everyday facepainting himself. or at least spends a long time about what he's perceived as he's setting up his machines. he looks [relatively] normal beneath his headpieces and facepaint and all of that stuff. all that with the intention to probably scare off opponents/his subordinates/literally everything with a pulse.
