♱ pomegranates as me and my s/o

I lie tangled limbs with him and he offers me, one by one, pomegranate seeds, pressing them past my lips with stained fingers. His touch lingers, and I suck the crimson from his skin, but the color goes away not. Not entirely. Not ever. My hair cascades down his arm like spilling ink and his breath fans my cheek. His flesh catches on to the sharp edge my fang, blood, like a surrendering river floods down the mountain, all drowned and devoted. My tongue brushes along his cut with worshipful care, he pulls it away. He refuses to heal. To heal is to forget. He will never forget. Another seed into my mouth, this time it’s mixed with metal, it’s richer and plumper. I close my eyes as the crunch sound echoes inside the premises of my mind, reverberating along the routes of my heart veins. dark bloody, blinding, furious red, drips down my lips to my chin, my saliva mingles along with it, making it slick and thick and obscene and infuriating. Yet, I look up at him, my eyes glossy and pleading, my lips parted, desiring more. I become greed incarnate. He kisses me softly like a promise, like the truth, his tongue laps up the chaos I have made. He adds on to it, the chaos. He always does, but he is subtle about it, quiet and hidden in the lingering shadows, while mine is raw and loud, roaring like an angry lion. His mess soothes, while mine cuts and screeches. My finger traces his rib in the dark, his skin leaks. Only barely, only enough to remind us of our vulnerability. I touch his face, red on his cheek, I can not tell if it’s blood or juice…I can never tell anymore, perhaps they are the same thing, perhaps they always were. I feed him a seed, damning him, tightening the chain around his neck. another oath to his throat, another step closer to inevitable. I oblige him to this unhealthily flaming love of mine. But he does not want to leave anyways, he chose me. He chose the seeds. He chose the tree and he chose this inferno as did i.

And I claw at it all, the ache, the burn, the deathless danger that surrounds us. I embrace it all. I claim it. For him I will take another bite deeper into the underworld. For him all be damned. For him I am reborn.
