[Vantas] "Quite Curious Indeed..."
The game master's tone sounded curious- and curiosity can kill. Can't it?

Starlet's Aside
Chapter 7: The Final Bow [Word Count: 501]
Star awoke with a start. Had the vines just tried to kill her? She didn’t know where THAT fit into “succumbing,” but it seemed inappropriate at the very least. This was her last chance. And if she knew anything about dramatic irony, the dice would be where the book was kept: Dad’s bedside table. This time, she had a plan, and she had to execute it perfectly.
She raced to the top of the steps, screaming out to her father, “DAD! Doe’s upset and she NEEDS YOU!” Ha. Easy enough. Her father dashed out the door, barely missing Star as she slipped back into her room. Once he was in Doe’s room, Star made a dash for his room, the door left wide open.
Penn spotted her flight, however, and leaped into action, grabbing Star’s front hoof and dragging her down. “I don’t know what you think you’re doing, Star, but you are NOT getting into our room to do Hestia-knows-what,” she seethed. The filly had ENOUGH of her mother’s malice and vice for a millennium. Star was done with her accusations, done with her micromanagement, done with HER. The pegasus whipped around and sunk her teeth into her mother’s front leg. She hollered in agony, releasing her grip on Star’s leg, and she ran for the door. Just then, Doe’s weeping echoed through the house, vines tangling and weaving through the house’s walls. As Star grabbed for the drawer’s handle, the vines yanked her backwards once again. She was right; the dice was in his bedside table!
The vines tugged and heaved, but Star’s grip on the table’s drawer brought the whole table crashing down, both the book and dice tumbling forward.
“Yes! Let me out!!”
Without hesitation, her hoof came crashing down, shattering the dice that once trapped her there. Static filled her ears as the illusion around her collapsed, bringing her to the darkness once again.
Everything was numb. The blanket of gravity was settled upon Star’s back once again, keeping her grounded. When she was finally able to open her eyes, she saw... the Portal Realm! In all of its non-static-y glory. Star shot upwards, immediately heading back towards her dimension. She had a call to make.
The second Star got past security clearance and left the castle, she pulled out her phone. It was odd... the time on her phone read 12:04 pm. It felt like she had been gone for days, but... what WASN’T odd about that experience? Speaking of her experience...
“Starbie, hi! Howzit?” A stylist friend of hers answered the phone. He was always happy to help her out, especially since he knew about her particular situation including a fussy talent agent.
“Hey, Dare. My offer for a half-off cut and style still available?”
“You know it, babes,” he chimed. “What does Big Miss Manager want done this time? Something more femme, maybe longer, mmh?”
Star gave an earnest chuckle. “Gwen can suck it. We’re going short. I’ll be there in five.”

[Vantas] "Why not take a chance, Hero?"

[Vantas] As Mochi wandered her usual grounds and did her daily activities, her vision would start to blur for no reason. It getting worse with every few steps as her head would start pounding and her ears would ring.
it came completely from no where, and no matter what the mare did it didn't lighten up... Eventually, the fae would stumble forward and land onto the ground due to the pain and unidentified sound- her eyes blinking once or twice before passing out.
...After what felt like a few seconds- the pain would have subsided and Mochi would open her eyes. Her eyes fluttering from drowsiness as she'd look in front of her and find a plate; presenting her favorite meal.
The sound of cutlery hitting plates and various noises of ponies would hit her senses, her finding the drowsiness lift as stallion's voice sounded.
"I must say, finding someone like you who is almost immortal is quite a treat. Not to mention the baggage that you have to carry with your purpose."
The mare would jolt her head up to meet the voice- her finding herself in a completely unknown situation as she seemed to be sitting in a lobby of some kind. Multiple tables around her, an unknown grey stallion across from her seat, not to mention when she'd turn to her left she'd find a view of a empty casino; blocked by a large tinted window.
It was confusing, as the sound of life in her ears contradicted the lack of others. Mochi would gulp as she'd turn to the stranger again- him having been using his cloven hooves to cut into a prime steak; a charming smile coming from the stranger as he'd take a small piece he had just cut- and brought it to his lips. He chewed silently as his saturated eyes looked straight through her. Instinct screaming that this Stallion is not to be trifled with.
"Please eat my dear, while you do so I'll explain this opportunity I have bestowed you."
Mochi found her body moving on it's own, her taking a small bite of her meal as her form refused to leave this seat. His voice sounding as the candles resting between the two flickered; a dice rising from the small flecks of flame and floating without any support.
"You see, I have been hosting a game... The players I have are steadily increasing- and I thought.. I'd give the same to you. You could say no if you desired, but then you could miss a chance to learn the reason why."
The stranger chuckles. Before the plate in front of Mochi floated away and a pamphlet slid in it's place, the Dice that floated gently placed beside the instructions.
"Make a decision, and I'm sure you'll find a truth you've always wondered."
(@theblindfoldedprince)
Mochi is reluctant, but she can’t help hungering for the knowledge of her purpose. Let’s hope her eyes weren’t bigger than her stomach. @theblindfoldedprince

Starlet's Aside
Chapter 5: Intermission [Word Count: 711]
“How unique that a game falls in the wrong hooves...” called a voice from the television. “Yet without issues like these, things wouldn't nearly be as fun.”
A shadowy smoke emerged from the screen, consuming the room completely in darkness. The display on Star’s TV was the only thing she could see.
“Hey! What gives!?” Star barked, puffing out her chest. A glowing fuchsia silhouette showed itself, the only apparent features being its white eyes and mouth. This only caused her head to tilt. “...And who are you supposed to be?”
The creature giggled at her antics, replying, “A temporary guide, my dear Star. After all, you didn't get a choice with this game... And that ruins the point.” His figure flew around to stand beside the TV’s display. “I'm quite picky with my players, and I'm afraid you'll fall apart quickly- so just for you, I'll provide a crutch.” The shadows parted before her, revealing a piece of paper laid upon a small section of carpet. “First, here is the pamphlet explaining all the details... And you get to keep it while you play. Second, I'll tell you a secret to give you a better choice than the ones before.” The silhouette stretched itself to curl around Star, leaning close to her ear. “The dice you destroy to escape... Is another Player.”
His form flew up above the display, calling out to Star. “Good luck and burn bright! Survival or Morality?! THAT IS YOUR CHOICE.” The pink figure twirled into itself, and the smoke was sucked back into the display. The world snapped back into focus.
Star decided that this cycle would be the one for her to gather herself. She’s got less than 10 minutes per cycle... as long as Doe doesn’t make too much noise and alert her parents. Star took the pamphlet in her hooves, carefully reading its details. So it’s a game of challenge, eh? Finding and destroying a little dice can’t be so difficult. The ghost-thingy said it was another player, but... if they’re in this situation, aren’t they kind of already dead? She doubts that dice are conscious. Looking further down on the paper, Star saw that she rolled for “Regret.” She supposed she WAS pretty mean to her sister, but it wasn’t like she was wrong about the general gist. But... “never coming back” is a pretty harsh punishment. What was Doe doing with this thing?
She could ask that later. For now, she needed to strategize. Granted, she couldn’t even find her own TV remote earlier, but that was different. The dice hunt was (allegedly) life or death. 10 minutes per cycle is pretty generous, all things considered, but even 5 minutes would be enough to run downstairs and check a single room. Star looked back at the TV. TRY AGAIN, three tallies. She wished her TV was still working; it had a working clock. A working clock... her alarm clock! Star stumbled over, staring at the time. 9:35 pm. That reading made sense, now all she had to do was stare at this clock until she passed out aga-
Star awoke back at her spot on the floor. Tally number four. She skittered back over to her clock, reading 9:28 pm. Gotcha. 7-ish minutes to search the house for an evil magic dice, totally doable! And since the conditions of the pamphlet were that the only way to lose was to “succumb” to the Play Zone, she had infinite tries! Piece of cake. First up: her room. This... may actually take a few tries.
Tally five...
Tally six...
Tally seven...
Awesome! Alright! Star has spent 21 minutes tearing apart her own room looking, and no dice. She’s wasted enough time here, and she was NOT cleaning up that dream-world mess. Luckily (or unluckily) for her, anything she moved or touched seemed to remain in place the next cycle. Despite there being no limited number of tries, it sounded like the TV static got just a little louder every cycle. Star began noticing that Doe’s vines grew in some manner as well; bigger, longer, faster, and stronger than previously. The change was subtle until Star saw thorns protruding through her wall. Time to search the rest of the house, quickly.

[Vantas] "What a show... Don't you all agree?"
He'd say through a 'warm' smile as he'd tap his hoof against the pool, his voice echoing as if knowing there were those watching... Aren't you all watching?
