she was complaining out loud at this point, but even then if given the chance to get even for kidnapping her she would. it's only been a few days since she arrived, and she was only getting more agitated as time passed. she had finally run into several other servants and managed to get a better idea of the city itself, but its purpose still alluded her and the thought of being powerless to do anything irked her to no end.

tasteless had never been a word used to describe harry —— dowdy, tacky... never in a million years. of course, having wealth isn't always synonymous with style, not for everybody anyway, but it did personally award him with an expensive eye, and an even more exquisite palate in wardrobe. he's never needed a stylist. ( however... ) he somehow manages to lose everything he's ever learned when it came to more publicized events— ones where he's more likely to have camera lights blinding him, ones where fashion actually meant something to those looking.

or maybe it's the pressure that makes him care less and lose interest entirely.

either way, suits had never been his favorite thing to wear —— and comfort was more important to him when he wasn't required. ( it hadn't been black tie, ) but apparently the internet already had much to say as he would learn once the couple returned home. he'd hardly been listening to angélique as she read off the various comments from her phone and he peeled out of the blazer to let it drape over the foot of the bed. ( of course, not many had been complaining about her dress, ) unless she was intentionally overlooking them. fingers went to the clasp of the watch around his wrist as he sat down, blue gaze trained on stainless steel— and he finally snapped his attention to look at her over his shoulder upon the last comment registering in his ears.

( he almost looked offended, ) and maybe he was, as he only scoffs in response at first. ❛❛ these jeans cost more than what any of those idiots make in a month. ❜❜ it's mumbled as he finished his task and placed the watch on the bedside table —— fingers once again drifting to habitually twist and adjust the wedding band around his ring finger. ❛❛ why the hell do you keep reading that shit? trying t'say something, ma chérie? ❜❜

The quickness that Dodge displays is a good sign, as he rushes off to the bathroom, finally letting it happen—he takes notes, anticipatory yet optimistic as it happens. It'll be less painful this way, and at least the deed will be done in a quicker manner than expected. Though, as the clock ticks on, he wonders if Dodge simply did need the aphrodisiacs, and sighs. It's one thing for him to be late, and another for him to simply not be able to do it—but they both will adapt. Or overcome. "Now Dodge, I—" The door slides open suddenly as he approaches it, trying to offer another alternative and leaving Adonis confused for a moment. It takes a second to realize that the man forgot to lock it, making him blink in surprise. Well, this was certainly shaping up to be a day. "Apologies, I was going to ask if you were, ah, finished. But I can see that you aren't. I was going to suggest some aids, but you seem to have it... well in hand."

"Thank you, sir. Doctor. Adonis." Dodge gets up so quickly his chair scoots noisily backwards, something he tries hard enough to avoid that it's sure to happen. As horribly humiliating the situation is, Dodge is cautiously hopeful as he ducks prey-like into the restroom, anxious to see if the doctor's pep talk will finally inspire success: at least he's got the right restlessness in his stomach now, already an improvement from the dry spell that's been dogging him.

The door closes quietly behind him, and each minute that passes in silence takes more of Dodge's confidence with it. He sits, he stands. He rests his back against the wall, tries to focus on the reassurances Adonis offered about the relative safety of the sample cup, but soon enough that familiar, numbing anxiety clamps its jaws back down on him.

Dr. Moreau is waiting. Far too much time has passed and In a moment of desperation Dodge hunches forward with an elbow on the sink, rests his forehead onto his arm against the light and, in the makeshift darkness, remembers the doctor's reassuring touch; maybe he even imagines that touch lasting a bit longer, gloved fingertips skimming up along his arm and gently cupping his face... It excites his blood but only further frustrates and Dodge bites into his lip, cursing himself and his traitorous flesh.

With a very straight face, Thea offers Doffy an early Valentines Day gift in the form of pants that are violently bright pink, with red hearts pierced by cupid's arrows all over. Are they directly from her? Maybe, maybe not. She could just be handing them over for someone else. She wont specify.
