been more coyote than fox lately. and more cat (lynx, snow leopard, cougar) than either of those. think it was caused by my recent feelings of heavy alienation from other foxes, but not sure.

i do go through periods of being more one thing than another, feeling more comfortable in a certain form than in others. but this also didn't start until i started feeling like i don't actually relate to other foxes for anything other than just... being a fox.

maybe it's because my entire experience, as any part of myself, is always going to be tinged by my being a shapeshifter and satyr above all else. i can't describe being a fox without it being colored by those experiences. and i can't separate the fox from the rest of me any more than i could separate the kestrel, or the shapeshifter itself.

i think this is why i relate to and get along best with werebeasts, even if my experience isn't quite the same. i'm not like a lot of other shapeshifters or polymorphs either, but the werebeast experience is very close, especially if they are viarian/vianthromorphs. werewolves and werecats and werebirds and any type of were-creature. even when i don't share a form with them, it's easier to get along with them than with most who do share my forms, because that experience is so similar, so shared.

with a lot of those i share forms with, it just seems like i can't relate to them at all outside of the limited experiences of that form (and even then, i somehow still feel like the odd man out)
