that rumor about season 9 or new voltron or whatever has a lot of people posting negativity in the voltron tags and its bumming me out, so i wanted to post something nice to help balance it out! This doodle is pretty old but i still think its cute, so here yall go
[ID: A black-and-white sketch of the six paladins of voltron falling in a white void. Hunk is on the ground looking up, presumably having already finished falling. Pidge is almost at the ground, lowering herself from her bayard with a smug look on her face. A little above her, Shiro is falling white reading some kind of document, and looks unconcerned. Above him, both Allura and Lance are upside-down and look very disgruntled about it. Keith is the highest up, and looks ready to punch. End ID.]

Just found this sketch of a story in an old folder. The document title is “Black hides shit,” so I presume I was going to write something about the Black Lion hiding precious things away (like an actual cat 🤷‍♀️) such as its paladins when they are in peril??? Anyway, here it is:
The Shiro that wasn’t – couldn’t be – Shiro leaned into his stranglehold on Keith. Keith could smell the flesh on his neck burning, hear it crisping under the hot glow of Shiro’s hand. He was going to kill him, right here on Black’s hangar floor.
‘You’re smaller than me. Weaker than me. Dumb. So stupid, Keith; always struggling to do or say the simplest things.’ He renewed his grip and Keith issued a strangled cry. ‘You’re a stupid, broken, pathetic excuse for a soldier. For a person,’ he said. Spit bubbled between his teeth.
‘Sh–’ Keith could manage no more. His tongue was a weight in his dry mouth. His vision shrank to a pin point, Shiro at the centre.
‘It’s time someone put you out of your mis–’
Heat exploded in Keith’s middle. Everything was fire. From the tips of his fingers to his backbone, his whole self burned like a supernova. He screamed, the sound shrinking to nothing then emerging as a tinny echo in a cold void. Above him, a velvet purple expanse. The afterimage of Shiro’s enraged face hung in his vision. Where… was he?
‘Keith?’ a warm, familiar voice sounded from the abyss.
* * *
‘No!’ Shiro howled. He’d just vanished. One moment, the Black Paladin’s cartilage had crunched beneath his fingers, and the next he’d vanished in a rain of indigo light. Shiro stood and spun towards the Black Lion, his eyes murderous. ‘You!’ he roared.

Tristan Eaton’s “All At Once: 25 Years of Art & Design.”
Opening on Friday, July 16th, 2021 at The Long Beach Museum of Art in Long Beach, California is artist Tristan Eaton’s first solo museum exhibition and career retrospective, “All At Once: 25 Years of Art & Design.”
Like Eaton’s career, the fully loaded exhibition transitions between guerrilla street art, iconic murals, game-changing design and well-defined fine art, giving the viewer an overviewing atlas map of Eaton’s illustrious career.
Eaton’s oeuvre transcends categories.  The retrospective is meant to explore both his commercial appeal and his fine art abilities, juxtaposing and weaving them together seamlessly.  As one of the few Urban Pop Artists to demonstrate both, Eaton highlights the synergy and creativity that become possible when the artistic side and the business side are embraced as cooperative, rather than opposing forces.  Like the works of Murakami and KAWS, high art and product fill the same space making merchandise, public art, and fine art equally relevant.
For 25 years, Eaton has been at the forefront of multiple urban art movements. For the first time ever, the highlights of this journey will be on display for all to see. In the 90s he was drawing underground hip-hop posters in Detroit. In the early 00s he was designing ‘art toys’ that sparked an international craze and working as a creative director in New York, leading the crossover of graffiti into the mainstream via commercial advertising. All the while, Eaton was tagging streets across the globe and cultivating an alter ego that subverted the norms of street art with hundreds of illegal art installations. All of that effort and exploration culminates in a massive body of work with Eaton’s mural art and studio practice over the last 10 years.
When viewers enter the museum, they’ll be met with a massive full-color window installation and display of toys & sculpture in the museum lobby. Entering the exhibit, Eaton creates a visual timeline of his early career, featuring hundreds of sketches, ink drawings, paintings and posters from his early life. Also on display on the first floor are various toys representing Eaton’s pioneering place in the designer toy phenomenon. Eaton immerses visitors in KidRobot memorabilia including the ever popular Dunny and Munny, Eaton’s signature toy designs which are now in the MOMA permanent collection and The Smithsonian. This part of the exhibit, like everything else we’ve seen from Eaton, includes both the significant--toys featuring art from Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Basquiat, and more--and the playful, in the form of a 5-foot-tall Munny toy coated in chalkboard paint so visitors can interact with the iconic form and leave their own signature behind.
In a specially curated section, museum goers can experience TrustoCorp, Eaton’s alter ego. Eaton cultivated anonymous volunteers across the nation to take part in this clandestine approach to public art hoaxing which led to hilarious results and national news coverage. This collection of work spans from 2008 to 2014 and includes just a few of the many illegal street works and exhibitions he created under the alias, with 72 Street Signs, a Lowrider Shopping Cart, and a fully functional 6-foot-tall Operation game.
Upstairs there is a room decorated to resemble the void of space, as a means to feature the historic launch of Eaton’s work into space. The actual works of art that lived on the International Space Station by way of SpaceX will be on display, rotating behind glass. Continuing on, viewers can visit UPRISE, a series of paintings celebrating the powerful history of human protest and resistance. These paintings celebrate the efforts of the Black Panthers, the suffragettes, Martin Luther King and more.
The much anticipated highlight of this exhibition will be Eaton’s ‘American Dream,’ an entire room filled wall to wall with a spray painted, carnival game mural made to spoof and skewer the notion of American Exceptionalism. Every 15 feet of this mural is a unique, fully interactive game created with the hand made charm of an old school fairground and the new school attitude of a generation dedicated to protest and resistance. Viewers can ’Stir the Melting Pot,’ ‘Throw Money at Their Problems,’ and play ‘911 Roulette’ where they spin a wheel to see what happens when the cops show up.
The exhibit culminates in the present day, with a behind the scenes look at Eaton’s art studio and an in-progress example of his celebrated Marvel fine art prints. This room features the rarely seen copper plates used for the foiling process in these sold out works. Also on view are Eaton’s historic designs for the 2020 NFL Super Bowl tickets.
These special rooms and interactive experiences are just the tip of the iceberg. From this quick breakdown alone, it’s clear that both Eaton’s career and this retrospective are jam-packed, filled with engaging, poignant, and downright fun work. With this landmark exhibit comes not only entertainment, but community engagement and cultural experience.

LOTOR AND THE ALTEANS: A SEASON SIX META
[YARRR THERE BE SPOILERS AHEAD!!! YE HAVE BEEN WARNED]
I WISH NETFLIX WOULD LET ME TAKE SCREENSHOTS!!! So I apologize for the lousy quality because all my pictures I had to either find elsewhere or take with my phone.
Tumblr media
Basically I think there’s a lot more to Lotor’s story, and we may find that everything is different than what we are lead to believe. If interested, delve into the madness below the cut. (there’s also a tl;dr at the end)
Let’s start at the beginning - Krolia’s mission.
Kolivan: This base was, until recently, run by a Galra commander named Ranveig, who was developing a super weapon of some sort. We’re not sure of the weapon’s specs, but we do know that it is incredibly powerful.
Keith: How did we learn all this?
Kolivan: We have a spy in Ranveig’s camp who’s managed to acquire high-level security clearance. Since Ranveig’s departure, it’s possible she assumed control of the base, but we can’t be sure.
Keith: Why not?
Kolivan: We’re not the only ones who know of the weapon. Two Galra factions, led by Commanders Trugg and Ladnok, are at war over the territory. Since their fighting began, all communication has been cut off. We need you to infiltrate the base, extract our spy, and destroy Ranveig’s weapon.
Krolia explains further:
Keith: What is the weapon exactly?
Krolia: Warlord Ranveig intercepted an undocumented shipment of quintessence traveling through his territory. He took it for his own and began experimenting with it. It’s more powerful than any quintessence we’ve received from the empire, and it has some very unexpected effects.
Krolia: We’re going after the enriched quintessence that created Ranveig’s super weapon. I was with Ranveig when an unmarked cargo ship passed into his region. When we checked it out there was no crew aboard. The ship had been nearly torn to pieces, but inside, a single vat of quintessence remained. It was unlike any other quintessence we’ve seen.
Tumblr media
I’m guessing this was a ship of Alteans who were trying to escape or one of Lotor’s crews that helped with the Altean project (there were other Galra present, at least in Romelle’s recount). I believe the void tore the ship apart, and probably destroyed whoever was on board due to the stretching of space time. This ship could have been from thousands of years ago, or just from a week ago when Krolia discovered it. It’s impossible to tell.
Tumblr media
The Altean colony is sketch from the get-go. It’s a synthetic environment (terribly similar looking to Allura’s simulation room where she would speak with her father - who was not real, it was a projection of his memories) within a dusty, abandoned-looking station. If Lotor came to this colony frequently, wouldn’t the station be in better shape? Wouldn’t he have some Galra soldiers stationed there? In Romelle’s flashbacks it shows other Galra assisting Lotor in moving Alteans to the other colony, so we know he didn’t work alone.
Keith also immediately says “What is this place??” When they first enter.
They walk for a little ways (or maybe a good distance? It’s hard to tell) when Keith stops and says he hears something, and it’s Romelle humming. A convenient way to draw them towards her since she wasn’t sitting right next to the door.
Tumblr media
The first we see of Romelle she’s cleaning clothes in the river - something that seems very routine and normal in a real environment. But if this is a synthetic environment like it appears to be, Romelle being there is a major red herring. The ONE Altean who doubted Lotor and the ONE Altean who knew the truth (part of the truth?) happened to be the ONE and ONLY Altean that Keith and Krolia see?
Either the writers wanted to get to the point and keep the story concise, or Romelle is a conveniently placed trap.
Also convenient that NO ONE was around the hangar where they took the Altean pod? And again, no one was on the moon colony either. Keith and Krolia make moves to stealthily enter as if they’re expecting guards or alarms or something, but it seems abandoned.
Lance: Once they reach the quintessence field, then what? The last time anyone got in there, it turned Zarkon evil.
Shiro: Zarkon fell prey to his own evil instincts. The quintesence field didn’t create them, it revealed them.
This is important to remember that the first time Lotor went into the quintessence field he didn’t turn evil. He seemed like the normal Lotor we know both when he was in the field and when he returned with Allura. Lotor didn’t snap until his second time in the quintessence field AFTER everyone called him a monster and wouldn’t even pause for one second to hear his side of the story.
In fact, Allura even mentions how quintessence can’t fall into the wrong hands for evil intentions, and Lotor agrees with her.
Tumblr media
Lotor: Readings are beyond anything I could’ve imagined. What we do here today will change the course of the universe forever.
Allura: In the hands of the wrong person, this power could easily corrupt.
Lotor: Together, we’ll see that it never does, and continue the work your father started so long ago.
If the quintessence field is supposed to reveal one’s evil intentions, all it did was reveal Lotor’s good intentions. He also brings this back to Altean Alchemy (mentioning Alfor), which I’ll talk about in a bit.
Tumblr media
Let’s hear Romelle’s side of the story:
I come from a planet where there are thousands of Alteans. We have lived there since the war with Zarkon began. ... Every Altean child knows the story of how Lotor saved us from destruction. When Zarkon attacked, many were off-planet on trading expeditions. When news spread about the destruction of our home, those of us who remained went into hiding for deca-phoebs. But Lotor, with his deep knowledge of Altean culture, managed to track some of them down. ... To keep the Alteans secure, Lotor hid them on a remote planet beyond the quantum abyss. ... And over time, the Alteans came to worship Lotor as their savior. Generations ago, in an effort to increase our odds of survival, Lotor announced that he was creating another colony far from our own. But in order to do so, he needed to assess which Alteans were viable candidates to survive the journey. One by one, every Altean in the colony was given a series of tests. Those who were deemed fit for the journey were loaded onto a cargo ship and taken to the second colony. It was considered the highest honor. Any communication between the colonies was strictly prohibited for fear it would compromise the other’s location. This was the world I was born into, one of unquestioning devotion to a supposed messiah. My brother Bandor was always faithful, but I had questions. ... Eventually, Bandor grew old enough to be assessed for the journey to the other colony, and he was selected to leave mmediately. ... My brother was dead. I knew the truth, or at least part of it. But I also knew that no one would believe me without proof.
Tumblr media
Let’s hear Bandor’s side of the story:
Bandor: Romelle, you were right. Lotor... the other colony... it’s all a lie...
The only thing we can rule out for Bandor’s statement is that the Alteans on the second colony weren’t there/doing things as Lotor explained. What exactly happened with the colony is still a mystery.
Let’s hear Lotor’s side of the story:
Romelle: Lotor is a monster and has been harvesting Altean quintessence for generations!
Allura: An Altean!
Romelle: [Lotor] killed my brother and thousands of others!
Pidge: Lotor has been lying to us the whole time. He’s a murderer, just like his father!
Lotor: You know nothing about what you speak.
Allura: What are they talking about?
Lotor: Allura, listen to me. I’ve dedicated my life to preserving Altean culture. Now that we have unlocked the quintessence field, all of your people, who would have been hunted down long ago had it not been for my intervention, can live in peace. Were some lives lost in the process? Yes. But they were martyrs to a noble cause. I sacrificed a few to preserve the future for millions. Allura, do not let this ruin everything we’ve worked for. Think of what we experienced in the quintessence field.
Lotor doesn’t deny Romelle’s accusations. He admits that lives were lost, but he emphasizes that it was for preserving Altean culture, and preserving the future for millions. It’s also interesting that he says “I sacrificed a few” as opposed to “a few Alteans died” as a result of failed experimentation or whatever. I think if you were trying to preserve a species and ran tests on them and a few died from random variables, I don’t think you would use the word sacrifice.
When Lotor first sees Romelle, it’s a strange look:
Tumblr media
He looks more confused than he does shocked. Even a tad fearful. Keith and Krolia didn’t see any other Alteans besides Romelle. The place where they found her looked abandoned, the inside world looked like a simulation. There might not be any living Alteans left, only the ones left in the cryo-tubes that started to resemble Honerva. If this is the case, Lotor would be wondering who the heck Romelle is supposed to be.
Apparently in the 80s version, Haggar disguised herself as Romelle:
Tumblr media
And Romelle may not be like Kuron, a puppet so to speak. She could simply be an Altean from this colony as she so claims, but Haggar could have given her false memories the way she did with clone Shiro. Or she might have been preserved via cryotube from back when there WERE Alteans living in the colony, and was just woken up now that the only Alteans left are the ones on the moon in their weakened near-dead state. She could be telling the complete truth as she knows it, but from what we’ve seen I would say there are no Alteans living at the colony. (I’ll address this more further down)
Also interesting that IMMEDIATELY after Romelle confronts Lotor, there is an alert that his generals (who are now working for Haggar) are attacking and then Shiro gets taken over by none other than Haggar.
Again, either the writers wanted to keep the story concise, or somehow Romelle was used to time the attack perfectly.
Honerva: You’ve continued the work I started all that time ago and have indeed seen it to heights I could have only imagined.
Is she referring to his search for knowledge on quintessence, or did she have something to do with the Altean colony as well? This statement is so vague that it opens many possibilities regarding Honerva’s involvement. The conversation that continues is also interesting:
Lotor: My mother ceased to exist when Honerva drew her last breath. Do not believe for a moment that I would ever accept you as kin. You are an abomination. A twisted perversion of what was once so pure and beautiful. The end is near, witch. I know you can sense it. If you beg for your life now, maybe I will take pity on you when the time comes.
Tumblr media
Is Lotor being poetic, or did Honerva actually die? What if she was in the same ill-state as Bandor and all the other Alteans and died, and became the “witch” as she is called - and Lotor started or picked up the project of the Altean colony as a way to figure out why Honerva became the way she is? Maybe even as a way to figure out how to return her back to being Altean?
Tumblr media
Allura: Then you’re... half Altean?
Lotor: Yes. It was something the Galra considered a weakness, but I consider it a strength. The union between Zarkon and Honerva sparked a technological revolution within the empire. Even back then, Altean culture was remarkably advanced. The kinds of experiments she was conducting she advanced science by eons.
Allura: How did Haggar get her hands on this?
Lotor: She was constantly seeking Altean magical knowledge that she could pervert for her own power. There must have been things that she was unable to access.
I think it’s safe to say that it’s possible Honerva started the Altean colony. Perhaps Lotor was trying to right her wrongs. Allura even asks how she got her hands on scientific knowledge, and I think it may be more than simply she was once Altean 10k years ago. She probably learned more from the Altean colony.
Tumblr media
I think the Altean colony somehow ties back to Honerva, in one shape or another. Whether she started it or Lotor started it because of what happened to her. I think we’re going to learn more about her and how she ties into all of this, since they focused greatly on her trip to Oriande and how she’s reverting back to her Altean form (I don’t think they would have focused on this unless it was important - course it could just be symbolic that Honerva is gaining more power).
I think this all ties back to Altean Alchemy.
Tumblr media
Lotor: I know you have the power within.
Allura: What if I don’t? ... Coran doesn’t have it, Honerva didn’t have it... The truth is, I may not have his abilities either.
Lotor: You must. There must be a way to carry on the tradition of Altean alchemy.
Allura: That tradition died along with my planet 10,000 years ago. I’ll never be the alchemist my father was.
Why is Lotor so desperate to have Altean Alchemy? I think it ties into the Altean colony, whether he needs the alchemy to save the Alteans or if he needs the alchemy to further his goal, whatever it may be. At the moment it seems Allura is the only hope for there being Altean Alchemy.
Back to the quintessence Krolia discovered.
What if the quintessence Krolia describes as “more powerful than any quintessence we’ve received from the empire [with] some very unexpected effects” is somehow a form of Altean Alchemy? Sounds kind of like Voltron when Alfor created it - Voltron was more powerful than anything in the universe, and it had the unexpected side effects of the Lions each having their own life force of sorts.
What if Lotor figured out how to turn Altean Alchemy into pure quintessence?
He picked out Alteans on the colony based on “certain requirements” - I’m betting it was based on whether the individual had the potential for alchemy. As we’ve seen with Allura and Coran, some Alteans have it while others don’t. Whatever Lotor did with the second colony is still uncertain, but whatever it involved it caused them to have this “Altean sickness” (what I shall call the near-dead state with the elongated markings). I think all the Alteans on the moon colony are still alive, however, merely being preserved.
Tumblr media
Romelle is a victim.
I suspect that she doesn’t have the whole story but everything she knows - albeit limited - is truth. I think Honerva is using her to further her agenda. Honerva could have even sought Romelle out, seeing that she had doubts about Lotor and thus would be the perfect one to turn Voltron against Lotor.
I’m speculating that Romelle is the last living Altean from the colony (without the Altean sickness) and that she either:
Was kept in cryosleep and recently woken and placed in the colony for Keith and Krolia to find (Honerva could have tabs on Krolia because she was technically working in the empire).
Is a clone of the original Romelle.
Knowing that Honerva was the one who started project Kuron in the first place, it’s not too much of a stretch to say she cloned Romelle as well.
Tumblr media
Considering this was a thing that Voltron deleted shortly after, it may be a hint towards this theory. The binary translated to “Kuron.” Some speculated that this might mean that clone Shiro might come back, or that Lotor might even be cloned (apparently he was in the original), but I think it might relate to Romelle.
TL;DR
In summation, I think that:
The Altean colony is dead (possibly has been for many years now), save for the ones preserved on the moon colony.
There is more to Lotor’s story.
Honerva is tied to all of this.
The quintessence has something to do with Altean alchemy, and both have ties to both Lotor and Honerva’s goals.
Romelle is not a spy, but a victim of Honerva (and possibly a clone).

Brand New Blue
Part 34
(First)(Previous)(Next) (AO3)
It was a long few minutes after the doors shut behind their friends before either of them spoke. Lance spent the time staring at his hands, trying to swallow the fact that he had attacked Allura.
He didn't actually remember doing it. But the first thing Hunk told him was that he had attacked her mid- demonstration. To Lance, it was all just a black, empty space in his memory. Last thing he remembered was the flash of light against Allura’s nails when she stumbled, and then all of a sudden he was staring into Hunk’s eyes as they crouched on the floor.
He attacked Allura.
"We can all tell that things have been hard on you since your return." Hunk started. Lance shifted his eyes to look at Hunk, but the man wouldn't look him in the eye. Hunk opted to stare at the far wall instead.
"You need to talk to someone Lance. About what's happened. Otherwise it'll keep eating you up from the inside out, and days like today will only get worse." Hunk said, his voice filled with a sorrow so deeply set, one would think he was talking about himself.
It's not like Lance was blind. He knew that something happened on the ship to change him, to make Hunk act different. It was subtle of course, little things that changed. However, when the only people you really are around only take up seven fingers on the daily, you're bound to learn things about one another.
Like Pidge. Believe it or not, but she sings to herself when others aren't around. And her voice goes from that sort of boyish deepness she talks in, into a sweet, lilting, high pitched voice.
Very beautiful.
Allura, she likes to tuck herself away in a small space, tight and seemingly uncomfortable, just to take naps. Lance suspects she likes the small places, and sometimes she'll use her shifting ability to become about the size of the mice.
Keith is artistic. Lance once found one of his little sketches of a planet they saved, and had hunted down the artist in question. Keith had clammed up when confronted, so Lance just made him promise to leave some more pieces out on accident so Lance could see.
Now, every once in a while, Lance wakes up to find a new sketch slipped onto his nightstand. How Keith gets in and out without Lance hearing is still an unsolved mystery.
Neither of them speak of the drawings though.
And Shiro, he loves to talk to himself in the mirror. Lance once caught him in the shower room, which was communal and separated only by curtains. Shiro tackled him when Lance tried to run and tell Pidge.
So yeah, they all know things about each other like a real family does. They threaten each other not to tell the rest of the castle, they barter and negotiate as well. A real familiar type of interaction.
Which means, Lance noticed when Hunk leaves the room when he enters. And when Hunk refuses to make eye contact. And when Hunk borderline flinches when Lance tries to talk to him.
"You should take your own advice." Lance said after a moment of thinking. Hunk jumped again, which was his version of flinching. Lance cut him off when Hunk opened his mouth, his face creased in protestation.
"We've noticed how off you've been acting too you know." Lance started. He was unable to drain the hurt from his voice. "You can't look me in the eye, run out of the room when I enter, you flinch at me." Each action was punctuated by Lance's counting fingers, each making Hunk shy away a little more.
That hurt a lot.
"What happened on that ship?" Lance whispered loudly. Unbidden, a slew of horrific images began filtering through his mind. Memories, except instead of Lance, it was Hunk. Chains, pain, the glint of blue liquid spreading and spreading. Hunk’s headband bloody, his eyes crying.
Fear and anger began rising up into his chest and throat, and probably his voice too. "What did they do to you?" He said. Something must have leaked into his voice enough, because the two of them finally locked eyes, dark blue against dark brown.
"Did he hurt you? Did they touch you?" Lance's voice slowly raised in pitch in volume, a slight growl rumbling in his throat behind his words.
Hunk shook his head quickly. "No, they didn't lay a finger on me. They did nothing to me, I swear Lance." Pure honesty was in Hunk’s expression. And pain filled the void the retreating anger left behind.
"Then why are you acting like this towards me?" Lance said. Hunk looked away, and a terrible thought came to mind. "Are you ashamed of me?"
Lance had tried to sound accusing and angry, but all that came out was broken and meek.
Hunk shook his head no again, harsh and sharp.
"I'm ashamed of myself Lance." Hunk said, moments before Lance could speak again. He didn't answer, just letting Hunk get what he needs to say off his chest.
Hunk took a moment to steady himself, a deep breath shaky even to Lance's ears. "I heard," was all he said. It took a minute or two for Lance to get the hint that he was supposed to know what that meant. Problem was, he had no clue what that meant.
"Heard what?" Lance said. He desperately wanted to reach out and touch Hunk, just a hand on the shoulder would be fine. He's been so starved of touch before he met Voltron, not trusting those he shared a ship with enough to allow it. Hunk was always hugging Lance though, so he became dependent.
He needed a gentle touch every now and then.
"Heard what?" Lance asked again instead, his fingers twitching in his lap. Hunk took another shuddering breath.
"I heard everything Lance." Hunk said, turning to look Lance in the eyes again. Pain and anger in his eyes, as well as unshed tears. "Everything they did to you, I heard it." Lance let that sink in, wondering why it would cause such problems with Hunk.
Yeah, Lance was tortured. Yeah, he was vocal at points. But why would that cause such reactions in Hunk?
Unless-
"How much did you hear?" Lance asked slowly.
Hunk shook his head again, curling himself to make a giant Hunk ball. Despite the guy's size, he seemed pretty small in that moment. When he spoke again, it wasn't to answer the question.
"The others, Pidge and Keith and the rest of them. They only heard Keith's side of the story. Not mine. Not yours." Hunk said. Lance hesitated, but slowly lifted a hand to Hunk’s shoulder. The contact practically made Hunk melt out of the ball he had formed himself into.
They scooted closer, only an inch, but enough to allow their legs to touch. And Lance waited. Eventually Hunk got the hint and kept talking.
"My cell was right down the hall from where they kept you. I heard everything they did to you. I heard your screams, and taunts and sobs. I heard the men and the whip and the laughter." Hunk gasped in a breath. "And I heard when they changed tactics against you. It was when whatever they drugged you with broke you. Because I know you were drugged, or you wouldn't have said the things you did."
"Hunk-" Lance said, a small swell of panic rising. He didn't want to talk any more, but Hunk wasn't listening.
"I sort of blacked out. Went on a rampage, but watched myself do it all. Ripping my cuffs to shreds. Taking down the guards when they investigated all the noise. Stealing a large set of armor to fit over my own. Finding Keith's cell and body slamming his guard. Breaking him free." Hunk said in a rush. His words were getting faster and more blurred together. So much so that Lance had make that click to change to enhanced vision and hearing.
"It's like watching a screen engulfed in water. Blurred, and wobbly. Hard to understand. And my chest- Oh my god- my chest. It was burning, like I was melting inside out." Hunk pressed a hand to his chest and Lance knew what he meant. Almost instinctively.
"I couldn't breath, and I couldn't think. I had never felt such things in my life. And it didn't leave until we had you in the pod. It was awful." Hunk finished, his voice dropping to a whisper.
Lance took pity on both of them and leaned into Hunk’s side. "It's called anger. That's what pure anger feels like. When it's so bad that your chest burns and it's like someone is yanking the air out of your chest." Hunk shuddered.
"I never want to feel like that again." Hunk said. Lance hummed his reply, and they sat in quiet some more. As if breaking the silence was forbidden.
Hunk broke it anyways. "I'm ashamed of myself for not getting you back sooner, for just abandoning you to fend for yourself against Shemale."
Lance stopped short. Shemale? "Who the hell is Shemale?" Lance asked, shocked at the name. He knows no one on that awful ship who called themselves Shemale. Hunk barked out a short, hoarse laugh.
"That's what Keith and I called the Commander. We couldn't decide if they were male or female. Keith is adamant they were female, but I'm partial to male. We've been meaning to ask you, even have a bet on it."
Lance snorted as he shook his head slowly. He could see it, honestly. Pagg was not the handsomest of aliens.
"Male." Lance said. "Definitely male." He heard Hunk mutter under his breath that Keith owed him a thousand Gak. Which was funny, since literally no one but Coran and Allura actually have any Gak. Lance had some, but he hasn't needed to use his stash yet.
Of course when Pidge and him went Gak fishing in the fountain at the mall, that was just for fun. And Pidge wouldn't take his money anyways. They let the mood sink back into a serious air.
"You don't have to talk to me about it. There are plenty of people on this ship if I'm not the one you want to talk to." Hunk said, his voice soft. Lance went to interrupt but Hunk just kept talking.
"Talk to Shiro, he's been in similar situations. Or Pidge, she'll throw logic at you until you understand that whatever is bothering you is not true or your fault or whatever it is." Hunk said, a small smile curling on his lips. Lance snorted in response.
"She would wouldn't she?" Lance said fondly.
"Or Allura. Despite being," Hunk paused to find the right words, before saying slowly. "Rough around the edges, she's really kind and empathetic. It's how she saved the Balmera."
Lance pouted. "You guys still haven't told me what you did. I mean come on. I've seen the details of it's condition, saving it should have been impossible with a thousand years to do it let alone one day." Hunk only laughed, his large body trembling under the force, shaking Lance a little where he leaned.
"Maybe later." Hunk said. Like he always did. They all found it funny how pretty much all of the Galra believe it was Lance to save a Balmera. Given Lance still had a price on his head for it, he didn't find it funny. To be fair, without the tracker in his eye, they have been able to lay low and try to fix the ship.
"You could talk to Keith. Believe it or not, he understands emotions quite well." Hunk said. Lance scoffed and sat up to look at Hunk with a deadpan expression.
"Keith." Lance said, obviously disbelieving.
Hunk only smirked, seeming much more like himself, even if he still wouldn't look him in the eyes. "Think about it." That was all Hunk said. And Lance did think about it.
It made sense. Keith was always putting himself as a punching bag for Lance's frustration, and keeping Pidge company at night sometimes. When Lance didn't get her in bed at least. Which wasn't often but still.
Ever since Lance found out about her insomniac ways, he's gotten pretty good at convincing her to go to sleep. Usually she only went when Lance sung to her. It was their little thing, the singing. It was the only way her thoughts could quiet enough to sleep.
The first time Shiro saw him carrying her to bed, he had called Lance a witch. That was an entertaining night. Usually she'll go happily to bed when Lance offered to sing, but when she didn't, he sung to her anyways. Bit by bit she would fall slowly to sleep. It was only after the third time when Lance learned the moment she would drop her head on her keyboard, so that he could move it out of the way.
But Keith was always there when he or Hunk weren't. Shiro's pacing the halls, countered with Keith's offer to spar. Allura’s snapping, countered with Keith's steady voice when they were in tense situations.
"Oh my god." Lance breathed. Hunk nodded in smugness. "You're absolutely right." The thought blew his mind. Hot head Keith was actually good with emotions, or other people's anyways. He wasn't good with human interaction and his own emotions, but other people's he was great.
"And if not Keith, go to Coran. He's older and wiser, and will probably be a great listener for you." Hunk paused and scoffed. "Besides, we all know he has the hugest soft spot for you."
Lance chuckled, not denying it. They were pretty close for knowing each other only a short time. But still, Lance couldn't talk about it, it hurt too much. He told Hunk as much.
"I can't relive the memory Hunk. It's too painful." Then Lance said something that was bothering him quite a bit. "Shiro's lucky not to remember what the Galra put him through. He has time to accept it before he knows, I see it all in my dreams. Every time I close my eyes, or see my own body, or even breath. It haunts me." He felt guilty saying Shiro was lucky, because he really wasn't, but that didn't mean Lance felt any different.
"I think that's something you should talk to him about, but if you don't talk to anyone it will kill you slowly." Hunk said, deadly serious.
He wanted to say something awful, like Good riddance, but that was just his trauma talking. He shook his head, leaning against Hunk again. He felt so tired, felt like he was sinking to the bottom of Earth's oceans and unable to swim to freedom.
"I can't." He said again. Hunk sort of blew up at him after that, raising his voice into a yell.
"You have to talk to someone! The team, a recorder, Blue. Hell just talk to a wall if you must! You can't keep bottling things up in your chest. Because they will explode when packed too tightly." Hunk finished, standing up and pacing away from Lance. He turned back to Lance before he stormed out of the room.
"And when it happens, the ones affected will be your friends. I can't promise the damage to be repairable either." Hunk locked eyes with Lance. They stared at each other a moment before Hunk sighed and went to open the door.
He didn't look back when he spoke next, his voice nearly a whisper. "I'm going to get changed. Meet you at dinner. If you decide to show up at least." Lance watched how his shoulders hunched inwards, his view cut off by the closing of the training room door. When the silence settled over him, he just curled into himself and closed his eyes.
He couldn't talk about it. Not yet.

The stars had always called to them. They would slip away down darkened halls, silent laughter on their lips and eagerness in their eyes. The first burst of freedom from the castle was always a rush, tearing their breath away as they raced into the starry void. Violet and Red, void and flame, skimming the celestial clouds and tumbling through alien skies; roaring with fierce joy alongside their mighty lions. It was here they could forget the war for a little while. It was here they could be free together to share their hopes and fears. It was here they could race a thousand dawns and chase the waning moon. Play hide and seek in the asteroid fields and skim along the pearlescent rings of celestial fire. And then when all was said and done, they'd turn back too collapse in content exhaustion in each other's arms until the new day. The stars had always called to them -A sketch I did at work tonight. I like to headcanon that Shiro and Keith like to sneak out to the lions while everyone is asleep to go on space joy rides and spend time together with each other as well as Black and Red.

It’s just not easy to keep looking for work. It’s not easy to keep begging, pleading year after year  and hoping that today will finally be the day. It’s not easy getting excited every time the phone rings or you get an email. That feeling of   your hopes rising as you get that brief moment of sheer excitement as you desperately want to believe it’s finally happening. That someone finally wants you and your moment has arrived, the door will finally open after all this time only to be let down again with a phone scam or an email about a sale at Sephora.
Every morning, you get up and look at your closet at your work clothes gathering dust as you visualize, wondering when you’ll get the chance to wear them again or if they even still fit. You imagine  that moment when finally after all this time, someone decides you’re worth taking a chance on. Of course, you need to know you’re worth taking a chance on but it always helps when someone else feels the same. When those words  you’ve longed to hear for so long are finally uttered, it can feel amazingly beautiful and lifting. I do not remember what it’s like to hear that “you’re hired” phrase. It’s been years. I don’t remember if anyone has considered me worth taking a chance on?
I’m hoping for today or tomorrow….or maybe next week…because you have to get up.
The search though can become increasingly lonely and isolating  so finding ways to fill those silent voids while you send out yet another resume for someone to keep on file in case something comes up that will be a good fit becomes crucial. I’ve become a podcast junkie in the last few months so I would like to dedicate this blog entry to the two podcasts that have simply made things a little more bearable and little less lonely.
Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard
I knew Dax Shepard from Parenthood. I watched Punk’d every once in awhile but it was Parenthood where I truly became a fan. I originally began watching because of Lauren Graham, Lorelei Gilmore herself, but soon was heavily involved in the lives of the Bravermans. I may have gotten into the show because of Lauren but I stayed for everyone else and I think I may have taken a similar route with discovering Dax’s Armchair Expert podcast. My discovery of another thing that Dax is a part of was thanks in part to another female whom I greatly respect and admire.
Kaitlin Olson.
When Kaitlin Olson was a guest on Armchair Expert, I had to listen…and I did…more times than I care to admit. A story about Dax getting bitten by a seal while high made me incredibly happy though I’m sure it wasn’t a great experience for him. He and Kaitlin have been friends for so long and I could imagine them, a couple of improv kids in their twenties, writing sketches, doing drugs and wondering what was next. I felt the same when Andrea Savage was on his show and for some reason I could imagine a television show. A group of twenty somethings from very different walks of life in a Groundlings like improv class all wanting to simply be that person who becomes someone….anyone. Friendship. Drugs. Alcohol. Seals. I would watch that. Anyone wanna hire me to write it?
Anyway, it was that interview with Kaitlin that made me a fan of the Armchair Expert. I dove into other interviews immediately. I loved the interviews with Kristen. The way they talked about relationships and their marriage. The way Kristen talked about how she views someone who has cut her off in traffic, instead of cussing them out, she changes her thought process. Her positivity and light has made a world of difference. I truly hate that relationship goals hashtag but the work they put into simply making it work is clear. It hasn’t always been easy but it’s been a hell of a lot of fun. It also seems like they follow my mother’s advice for a long, happy marriage closely which is that neither one of you should want a divorce on the same day.
I am still single and often feel isolated in this world as I continue to work towards that break that I still believe after all this time is around the corner, I listen to that interview and imagine I will find someone like that.
Soon.
It’s not just Kristen’s interviews that I loved. I cried when Dax interviewed his mom. She’s an an amazing woman. The strength and beauty she has shown, the perseverance is truly remarkable. I loved the Brene Brown interview as well as the one with Lauren Graham. Dax also got Keith Morrison to talk about Matthew Perry which he doesn’t often do, it seems. There was one interview when Matthew Perry was on Friends when Keith discussed him but other than that, I haven’t found anything. I loved that Dax asked about that. Kimmel talking a little bit about Kevin and Bean also thrilled me as a long time Kevin and Bean listener, though I do wish there had been a Santa Carl question. Most recently, I listened to the Jake Johnson interview and I was amazed at how little I knew about him.
Dax asks the questions that dig deep and he also asks the questions that get the guest to respond in a way that they haven’t responded a million times before. I’m thinking about the Rob McElhenney interview.
Rob McElhenney. I admire and respect that man so much for what he has managed to accomplish. I have even gone as far as to try to create my own content to see if that would finally be the thing that made the difference.
Spoiler Alert: It did not.
Though I’ve made it obvious, I want to work for Rob McElhenney.  Actually, at this point, I’d like to work for anyone but RCG Productions definitely tops that list.
Anyway, what made this Rob McElhenney interview different was that while I know the stories. I’ve listened to the stories. Fat Mac. Jacked Mac. Whatever Mac. There aren’t too many different ways to discussing gaining weight and/or getting into shape but Dax managed to get Rob to put a different spin on it which made the interview so much more interesting.
There’s a theme in all the Armchair Expert interviews I’ve listened to that make everything less lonely. Whether it’s Kristen, Kaitlin, Rob, Conan, Lauren, Andrea, Jimmy or Jake, each guest talks about their parents, their childhood and the struggles they have dealt with. Dax has a way of humanizing people we have put on a pedestal. He strips away the Instagram version of someone’s life and reveals their vulnerabilities. He shows that they had the same dreams, the same desires to simply be more and to simply be better.
Dax’s podcast is advertised as dealing with the messiness of being human and that’s what this does….and excellently so. Dax’s  podcast shows that we are all basically the same, we are all struggling to simply be accepted.
And hey, maybe one day I’ll be a guest.
As soon as someone retrieves my resume from the file where it’s apparently waiting to be a good fit.
Oh, before I move to the next one, I have to give credit to the incomparable Monica Padman. She is the producer and fact checker extraordinaire of Armchair Expert. She is fantastic though if I’m ever fortunate enough to be a guest, I will have to discuss why she was so reluctant to tell Rob McElhenney that Friends was her favorite show. Friends is the best show and no one should be embarrassed by that.
My Favorite Murder
Tumblr media
I am a Murderino and I have been binging Karen Kilgariff and Georgia’s My Favorite Murder podcast for the last few weeks. I used to binge those ID channel shows in secret, wondering if it was weird how fascinated I was by someone being driven to commit such brutal acts of violence. Maybe  I can attribute it to one of my Masters being in Marriage and Family Counseling but there’s just something so interesting about people who are driven to madness in that way.
Whereupon listening to Dax’s podcast leaves me feeling hopeful, My Favorite Murder makes me feel included in some weird club where someone always dies. I often long to be included in something. A place of employment. A relationship. A group of friends. I am hearing impairment and I have spent the last forty years on the outside wanting to be let in. I know exclusion far more than inclusion. I have been told that I drive people to hate me and people actively seek to avoid me. I know loneliness and being ignored. They’re familiar feelings as I continue to scream into this echo chamber of life. Yet with My Favorite Murder, there’s a connection. Albeit a very morbid connection but it’s still a feeling of being less alone. Feeling like there are other people out there. Every show delves into two murder stories or in the case of the minisodes, emails about murders from listeners. The stories are incredible and the details make every episode feel like an episode of television.
Armchair Expert and My Favorite Murder uplift me. They provide feelings of hope that I’m  not alone.
Everyone struggles.
So I guess all we can do is remain hopeful, listen to more murder stories as you hustle hey, maybe today will be the day your resume is finally retrieved from that file it’s in to see if it’s a good fit.
Podcasts That Help Ease Unemployment Depression It’s just not easy to keep looking for work. It’s not easy to keep begging, pleading year after year  and hoping that today will finally be the day.

Stormy Daniels releases sketch of man who allegedly threatened her over Trump affair
Tumblr media
Washington (CNN)Stormy Daniels released a composite sketch on Tuesday of the man she alleges threatened her in 2011 and is offering a $100,000 reward to anyone who can identify the perpetrator.
The disclosure of the drawing and the announcement of the monetary reward on ABC’s “The View” mark yet another theatrical twist in the dramatic public feud between the porn star and President Donald Trump. Daniels alleges that she had a sexual encounter with Trump in 2006 and that she signed a secret agreement just days before the 2016 election in exchange for the promise to stay quiet about the alleged affair. She is now suing Trump in the hopes of voiding that agreement.
Tumblr media
The development also comes at a grave moment for a key figure in the Daniels saga — Trump’s longtime personal lawyer, Michael Cohen. Cohen claims to have orchestrated the non-disclosure agreement with Daniels and says he used $130,000 of his own money to pay her off. Last week, the FBI raided Cohen’s home, office and hotel room in New York City. Sources said authorities seized information related to Stephanie Clifford, Daniels’ legal name, and that the search included bank records.
Daniels, recounting the alleged 2011 incident on “The View,” said that what she remembers “so clearly about him was that nothing looked alarming about the way he looked at first.”
At the top of the sketch, it states that the man is between 5’9″ and 6′ tall, between his 30s and early 40s, and with a lean but “fit” body type.
Daniels says the alleged threat took place in 2011, shortly after she had agreed in May of that year to sell her story about Trump to a magazine for $15,000. In a previous interview with Anderson Cooper on CBS’ “60 Minutes,” Daniels said she was in a Las Vegas parking lot preparing to head into a fitness class when a man approached her and her infant daughter.
Tumblr media
“A guy walked up on me and said to me, ‘Leave Trump alone. Forget the story,'” Daniels told “60 Minutes.” “And then he leaned around and looked at my daughter and said, ‘That’s a beautiful little girl. It’d be a shame if something happened to her mom.’ And then he was gone.”
“I was rattled,” she added. “I remember going into the workout class. And my hands are shaking so much, I was afraid I was going to drop her.”
On “The View,” Daniels said one of the main reasons she did not go to the police after the incident was that she had not disclosed her alleged affair with Trump to her husband and was “embarrassed.”
Daniels’ lawyer, Michael Avenatti, said on “The View” he and Daniels think they know who sent the man who allegedly confronted her, “but we want to confirm it.”
Avenatti has told CNN that the person who made the threat was not Cohen or Trump’s longtime bodyguard, Keith Schiller.
Cohen’s attorney has denied that his client had any involvement in or knowledge of the threat.
Tumblr media
Daniels said she never went to the police about the incident and never saw the man again, but that she is certain she would be able to recognize him.
“I would know it right away,” she said. “Even now, all these years later. If he walked in this door right now, I would instantly know.”
The sketch was drawn by Lois Gibson, a forensic artist whose bio claims that she has helped law enforcement identify 700 criminals with her sketches.
Tumblr media
Following federal investigators’ seizure of Cohen’s documents last week, Trump’s lawyers had asked that they get a chance to first review all documents and decide what should be off-limits due to attorney-client privilege. Cohen’s lawyers, meanwhile, sought a temporary restraining order to prevent investigators from reviewing the material and requested that a third party special master decide what investigators can see..
A judge on Monday announced that Cohen’s lawyers will get a chance to review the seized materials and declare what they think should be protected under attorney-client privilege and that Trump’s lawyers could similarly weigh in on records relevant to the President. But the judge is still considering whether a special master or an independent team at the US attorney’s office in New York would decide what investigators can review.

“It’s been an honour flying with you all"🙏🏾🌟✨ 。 。 SPOILER RANT BELOW 。 。 。 Well, Voltron is over and now I have to deal with the void that left one of my favourite shows. It’s been an honour flying with you all.🌟✨ About the end, I feel sad about Allura and Lance, I’m not an Allurance stan, but their relationship was sweet❤. If you think about it, Allura had the chance to know what real love is meant to be, and it was thanks to Lance. My boy💙, I’d say, that he deserved better in the end. He’s left mourning the loss of his beloved one, but maybe he’s meant to find another one, that’s what I like, that the ending was open, for us to imagine every character life. There’s still many unanswered questions, as what happens with Keith’s hand. In season 7 they dropped this bomb that made us all elaborate crazy theories about Keith losing control over his Galra side, and then nothing. Hope they give us some answers in the coming up interviews🙏🏾🙏🏾 。 https://www.instagram.com/p/BrgFdwUl0Z3/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=15o6g5k9tj6qf
