Some Pieces of Non-Media Research That Inspired My Project

Lego-

The aspect of Lego I find the most inspiring for my project is with the Lego characters, with each head, torso, legs and other various clothing such as hats and backpacks being able to be put together in near limitless ways.

Clothing Stores-

Clothing Stores in general were really helpful when thinking of ideas, because most of the clothes sprite’s I made in Photoshop were loosely based on random clothing items I’ve seen in various Clothes Stores in the past.

The Wild West-

As weird as it is I was able to take some inspiration from the wild west, specifically the boots. I made some wild west cowboy themed boots originally, but I turned them into more modern day boots after having issues with creating the spurs for the boots. I also wanted to create a classic cowboy hat as one of the hats, but decided to change it to more of a Mexican parade hat/Australian hunter hat hybrid.

1970/80′s Discos-

Similarly to the wild west cowboys I also wanted to have a classic 1970/80′s disco style afro, but after realising it was unfortunately too difficult to make in both 2D pixel art and 3D voxels I had to tone it down to a more modern day hairstyle, with some remnants.

Hats-

Hats in general were also useful, as there’s so many different types there were so many to take inspiration from, from classic cowboy hats, to modern day caps and beanies, summer hat, winter hats, there are many from every era I can take inspiration from.

Footwear-

Similarly to the hats, footwear in general were incredibly useful for ideas too, with so many different varieties, with old timey farmer boots, to modern day sneakers, sandals and slippers, so many choices from every era that I can take ideas from.

Voxel Art-

Voxel Art is the style I’m making my 3D models in, with so many varying uses of it I can use for inspiration, with obvious character design, to not so obvious world’s, and sometime just voxel art being really good for giving me ideas.
