happy 4th anniversary to Rikka!

October 20th is Rikka’s anniversary. Because he is one of my favorite vtubers, I thought I could share some trivia about him here!

A "high-tech" robot called a holoroid. It turns out that his memory capacity is only 2 GB, so he is a bit of an airhead.  The gap between his soft talking voice and singing voice is quite charming. He is working hard to share his songs around the world.

Rikka is known for his singing skills. He currently has 6 original songs and 34 covers.

He also does many acoustic singing streams while playing his guitar.

Like what the stars website says, he has a capacity of 2gb, which can result in 2gb moments happening on stream

Even though he can be an airhead sometimes, he is also very skilled at gaming, especially platfomers. Alongside playing previously platformers such as hollow knight, Celeste, super Mario 3D world, he occasionally streams Mario maker every now and then, and plays levels with a less than 1% clear rate.

Besides platform games, he is holostar’s Tetris player and sometimes streams Tetris 99. He also plays a lot of horror games. You might have also seen him play Apex. His highest rank is masters and he occasionally shows up in other vtuber’s Apex streams to play with them. He mains Loba.

Currently, he is into street fighter 6 and mains Luke. He just recently got master rank.

Since his 3rd year in holostars, he has published 3 new original songs, ranked 2nd place in Shibuya Hal’s Apex tournament vsaikyo season 5, ranked 1st in Apex Matsuri, participated in street fighter tournament Reject Fight Night, sung for 10 cover songs, became a voice actor for a character in a multimedia project, debuted in the unit Unplan with Miyabi, Aruran, and Shien which also has an original song sung by the four of them, and just recently hosted a vtuber singing tournament ( vtuber singing king, also co hosted with Suisei).

Man Vsaikyou being over feels surreal. It's so fun seeing Astel trying to make Arls laugh even when she got frustrated with her aim. It was so fun to see TSB dissing Nocturnal left and right. It was really fun but now that it’s over it feels really tragic for many people but I’ll specifically use TSN as an example of how much vsaikyou changed their month.

TSN brought in Yuhi at the last min, and it was really awkward at first cause despite being all Niji members, both Lauren and Yuhi were still trying to communicate with each other, even both of them had admitted that it was Kanae who made the communication between them easier. But now that’s it’s over Yuhi finally followed Lauren back even though he told her to follow him when they will win, Yuhi suddenly no longer rushes home to practice hours with them, Kanae struggling to sleep even though they came 5th cause it was frustrating they lost. Hell, even Lauren, notoriously first to leave and last to join  APEX scrims, after Vsaikyou is over he sits and stays in team 16 lobby room until the server finally closes even after Yuhi and Kanae have left.

And a month together of just APEX and it feels off.

And it’s not even just TSN, either. AQF pouring hours in to only end in 12th again and that shit hurts. TSB doing really well only for some things to fuck them over and that hurts too. Nari getting upset cause she doesn’t feel like she’s doing good enough. Even Kanato, resident sunshine man, even while laughing through his stream at the end he goes silent and admits his disappointment in himself. 

But even though it’s so tragic in the end and everyone feels down, people still laugh. It’s a sad atmosphere yes, but we get small things like KTG joking about 16th place and when they get interviewed Kou tells his love live gyudon story TWICE?? Akina cheering for Hayun and Nari and when it’s over Nari comments back and he laughs calling her Maou-sama again. Kaida literally criticizing Fuwa’s plays mid tournament. There was even a cinema viewing of Vsaikyou.

It was a wild month, and it’s over but I’m really glad. Since CR cup is also over now we’ll have to wait about a year for another tournament but it was fun, it was tragic, and relationships were both seperated and born. Vsaikyou being so big in the first place is insane and the fact Shibuya Hal even pools in his own money sometimes so corporate vtubers won’t have to worry about monetization. I’m really looking forward next year.

Average is calculated from all games without kill limits. P/K stands for Place/Kill, as in the ratio between points earned from placement and points earned from kills. There are other sources if you want the first 5 games only, or with kill caps or something.

TSN - TSN - Kanae / Lauren Iroas / Yuuhi Riri

Coach - ChaNRiyo, Landing - Countdown, Average Pts - 9.15, P/K - 0.90

They got this TSN gimmick from the beginning, and apparently this worked as they are at the top of the leaderboards. Lauren is probably at the top of his game, and this is a well-greased team… but I wouldn’t say they are far and above the others. This is a tight game. 

MNBD - めーぷるなっつばにーだよ [Maple Nuts Bunny-dayo] - Kurumi Noah / Higuchi Kaede / Tosaki Mimi

Coach - M1ko_d4yo, Landing - Harvester, Average Pts - 8.89, P/K - 0.84

Once again, the team to beat. I guess just having the name Kurumi Noah will tip you on that part. Has been relatively strong, Noah still cried though, that’s how tough the competition is out there. Deron has ascended and Mimi is one of the better point scams here. 

DK - 脱☆カスタム番長～約束の楽園～ [DatsuKasu] - Pakael / Rikkaroid / Kuga Leo 

Coach - Eden, Landing - Staging, Average Pts - 8.47, P/K - 0.91

Perhaps the team to beat, although Pakael has a tendency to fall face-front during the main match regardless of the team, but Pakael truly has one of best teams out there. Leo was a good ‘scam’ play and Rikka has been rather stellar, so maybe this would be the one for him.

AQF - 英吸不滅 [Ei Kyuu Fumetsu] - Kuzuha / Ex Albio / Fuwa Minato

Coach - DizzyTrickstar, Landing - Lava Siphon, Average Pts - 7.62, P/K - 0.80

At some points, it almost felt unfair and they really deserve to bump up, but you know that Kuzuha gets all the views, so corruption, yadda, yadda, you know the drill. (Astel?) Definitely a contender, but people have kept an eye on them, so they might not do well.

GUN - (株)ゴリラ運輸 [Gorilla Unyu] - Virtual Gorilla / Yozuna Niu / Kaga Nazuna

Coach - Dexyuku, Landing - Climatizer, Average Pts - 7.32, P/K - 0.86

Did very well in the beginning but as more teams became more wary, started to falter… but they are the one of the fun teams to watch, just by the virtue of the two girls. Niu, whose gotten a second wind and renegade on graduating, and Nazuna… just being Nazuna, really.

EMA - エピセンだ道を開けろ [Epicenter Michi o Akero] - Kaga Sumire / Yuki Chihiro / 

La+ Darknesss

Coach - dtto, Landing - The Epicenter, Average Pts - 6.32, P/K - 1.00

Surprising doing well, considering everyone’s dark wishes. La+ is learning very well, courtesy of coach dtto, who has been especially doting on her. And Su-chan and Chii-chan have the expertise and skill, and their placement isn’t half-bad, honestly.

PBR - ピンクブレイン [Pink Brain] - Hanabusa Lisa / Fura Kanato / Makaino Ririmu 

Coach - YuFuNa, Landing - Overlook, Average Pts - 6.15, P/K - 1.32

Unusually strong and Lisa really works well with these two. Not a favorite, but certainly a contender to be in at the first half, at least, if not placing overall.

TSB - Team Snake Bite - Axel Syrios / Selen Tatsuki / Regis Altare 

Coach - Nocturnal, Landing - Fragment East, Average Pts - 6.11, P/K - 1.03

Yes, there is the enormous ping. But their BIG BRAIN moves mostly paid off and they have placed well several times, and won a couple, I think? Not a winner, but still pretty good.

SDM - sadame gaming - Ichinose Uruha / Komori Met / Ibrahim 

Coach - Uruca, Landing - Skyhook West, Average Pts - 6.10, P/K - 1.21

Are people watching this team? I guess they are, but they aren’t saying much. I guess this is such a typical team that no one thinks they are worth really commentating, so there. 

DKQ - デカに9 [Dekani9] - Shinomiya Runa / Kaminari Qpi / Hizaki Gamma

Coach - Rinshan, Landing - Lava City, Average Pts - 5.95, P/K - 0.73

They are the outside moves, so when they do well, they do well, when they don’t… well… so, in aggregate they stand right near the middle. They aren’t bad, it’s just the rest is too good.

JWB - Jewel Box - Nekota Tsuna / Tokoyami Towa / Yakumo Beni 

Coach - Cpt, Landing - Thermal Station, Average Pts - 5.86, P/K - 0.79

Relatively strong, but rarely if ever gets first place. They are 90% of the way there, but there is always something missing. Hey, they did win the derby though, so there’s that.

SRD - StarReiDogs - Shirayuki Reid / Hoshikawa Sara / Aruse Inu 

Coach - BobSappAim, Landing - The Geyser, Average Pts - 4.95, P/K - 1.02

Definitely middle of the pack as far as fighting goes. Hasn’t excelled, but hasn’t faltered either. 

ITL - INUTOLION - Shishigami Leona / Inui Shinichiro / Hira Hikari 

Coach - AhnuG, Landing - Landslide, Average Pts - 4.68, P/K - 0.83

Had a rough start, being a team that is not familiar with the competitive scene, but they have managed to position themselves better. They won’t be last now, although placing? We’ll see.

PAM - ぴんくあらもーど [Pink a la Mode] - Ha Yun / Yang Nari / Minase

Coach - H1yaA, Landing - Big Maude, Average Pts - 4.60, P/K - 1.74

After a very public fallout, Laeria was replaced with Minase, and boy did they do better. Unfortunately they peaked a bit too early, but they aren’t doing bad. Nari is doing okay, considering everything and they have pretty good teamwork. Fun team to watch.

NJD - NJDestroy - Ratna Petit / Naraka / Naruse Naru 

Coach - Alelu, Landing - The Tree, Average Pts - 4.10, P/K - 1.37

Kind of struggling after changing some Legends due to the new meta and all, and they never really popped off, although I guess this is not a team that will pop off anyways.

SSM - ☆Starry Sky Magic☆ - Astel Leda / Asumi Sena / Ars Almal

Coach - Sumomo, Landing - Launch Site, Average Pts - 3.81, P/K - 0.79

Welp… has this team gone under fire. Both Astel and Ars have big heads… well, for Ars, it’s more physical, but you know… anyway there were a ton of arguments throughout the scrims and while they have made up for the most part, it’s still a very rocky team.

KGH - 関西元気保安協会 [Kansai Genki Hoan Kyoukai] - Honma Himawari / Shiina Yuika / 

Utai Meika 

Coach - Mukai, Landing - Survey Camp, Average Pts - 3.65, P/K - 1.86

Welcome to the bottom of the barrel, people. Meika is just not good enough to compete with these monster teams, but they have surprised the crowd at times, so maybe?

KTG - 花鳥牛月 [Katyougetsu] - Tachibana Hinano / Watanari Hibari / Uzuki Kou 

Coach - Mondo, Landing - Fragment West, Average Pts - 2.95, P/K - 1.05

Okay, maybe Hinano wasn’t a 9pt, and they literally changed their IGL at the last moment, because Kou has been on better teams before… or something like that. 

MSA - まゆみ堂しろあんせっと [Mayumi-do Shiroan Set] - Yukishiro Mahiro / Seto Miyako /

Coach - Tsubaki, Landing - Skyhook East, Average Pts - 2.93, P/K - 1.93

They kind of missed several games, including the entire first day, and they never really did much, although they are kind of going up as the time goes on, so who knows???

SSK - 三清傑 [Sanseiketsu] - Natsuiro Matsuri / Elu the Elf / Aizawa Ema

Coach - rpr, Landing - Lava Fissure, Average Pts - 2.82, P/K - 0.88

Look, they are seiso. They can’t be all killing people. They are squeezed by two of the most powerful teams and they never get off. One time they did, they won, so… you know. They are good, Matsuri is one of the best IGL out there, just… they are in a bad place right now.

Drew for Rikka’s Birthday. The stream was pushed back so he could participate in vsaikyo. I drew this in like an hr.. I am learning how to draw him.

So vsaikyo. This is the 4th time watching for me, and Rikka n Pakael are returning members. Leo is new. I usually only follow 1 team (anyways since I am lucky to watch one of my favorites every season) so I watch team dk. So the teams I watched past seasons never placed high but I thought maybe this year it is possible for my team to do well?  of course Pakael is really good and Rikka is always playing apex too but Leo, he seems lesser skilled than Altare. But everyday they always practice and every day I watched each member. Some days were good and they score champion left and right. Others the placed so bad the mood seemed low, I even was worried for Leo’s mental (after all I know loosing 10 times in a row sucks after playing splatoon ), but the next day they would be in good spirits.  then scrims come and it looks rough. If Pakael gets taken out it would be hard for the team. People say Pakael is cursed to lose, I thought could they really win? But each day with the coach’s help they still learned how to improve.

On tournament day, I even decided to wake up early and watch live (I never did before xddd) 1st round they were 7th, but in each round they score more and more points. Team dk wanted to win so bad.. I wish they won. It was only 2 points from 1st, but it still hurt! Why does it hurt? But in the end the past month was fun. This vsai feels different from the past ones I watched. I feel kinda sad. Who knows if vsaikyo will move from apex to valorant? I don’t think it will be the same if on valorant. team dk reminds me of Astel, Izuru, and Aruran’s team in season 2. Maybe because of all the improvements along the way. Either way I’m proud of Datsukasu, 1st place or not.

Still kinda empty rn.. this season was really good..

As much as I love Vsaikyou I am always reminded how toxic it can get which sucks because imagine always expecting your team to win when it’s all for fun in the end. Personally I expect my team to do dogshit and fail so bad like “congrats guys you did so bad we are last but hey at least it was fun!”

Being for real though as much as I want my team to win I rather see them having fun. If they just win but everyone dog shit on each other and other teams I rather watch a losing POV.
