Ja’far waited outside the bar, cigarette in his mouth and his phone in the hand.

He was dealing with some very interesting vampires, and needed help to eliminate them. He was told to wait at the bar, but the minutes grew to an hour.

“How late can this guy be?” Ja’far growled as he took a whiff of his cigarette.

     “I've interrogated many men in my time, kakka.” His eyes close and he stands still, a small upturn to his lips, strange and beastly. “They are quite vulnerable, ka? The right words are needed to evoke the right answers. I’ve often been the one chosen to coax them forth.” Hijikata stands tall and peers toward this man, fire ever-going, and gives a light gesture with his hand. “I do not offer my services to just anyone, but I will aid you if that is what you wish. Do not mistake me for a mercenary--I’m simply working in the favor of those below me.”

      fire--- that burning desire that raged && roared deep within one’s being. she sensed it too in this one. the same sort of all consuming desires which raced through her own cerulean eyes. twas the look of a man who had seen men die. who had seen war && bloodshed. respect surfaced within the vice-commander. a warrior’s soul recognizing another. && so the man woman met golden gaze head on.

            “….” Now, if Kouen had not been his best friend’s oldest brother… He would have run him through with Amon. He’s tried many times as a kid to flatten that piece of hair to not get commented on it by old ladies calling him adorable or Kassim and his friends to poke fun at him for. But his mom always told him how much she loved it, it made him different and special, and she could always find him in a crowd so he would never be lost. Now… “The feelings mutual with that silly excuse for a ‘manly’ goatee.”

The mountains are where this fox reside , a local legend that mortals have retold for centuries. The forest riddled with demons and spirits that terrorized most who entered. Past the springs as the fog settles a fox large in stature stood on the edge , Red markings down his fur and a low burning fire slowly seeping from his paws. His piercing crimson eyes glowed and cut through the blur between spirit and mortal as a scent so foreign hit the air. Nose goes up to smell and his attention is given to a man, a man across the spring.

He’s worked hard over the years in order to be of use to his older brother. Many would claim that in terms of tactical and logical intelligence, Koumei is the more experienced and knowledgeable prince- While he isn’t about to bounce back sincerely gifted praise, he himself does not necessarily agree. While his intellect is strong, he lacks the sheer dedication and passion that Kouen possesses, leaving much to be desired in his leadership potential.

Likewise, this absence is more often than not, what has Koumei seeking his brother’s guidance. It’s wholly unnecessary this time; he already knows the answer to this dilemma, given it isn’t a difficult conclusion to arrive at-

But...

Even decades after their childhood, perhaps he still does just desire the confirmation and approval of his older brother. It's a small comfort, after all, and gives him an excuse to get out of his study...

Koumei pokes his head through the doorway before he enters, unsure in his steps. He doesn’t want to interrupt important work, knowing for himself how irritating that can be- Yet, for once, he’s selfish. Despite Kouen being immersed in reading, Koumei clears his throat and steps towards his brother. “Erm. Forgive my interruption. Can we...” He hesitates, but with a sigh, glances off at a wall. “Can we talk?”

With another pause, his eyes soften and he adds, “as brothers, not as princes.”
