Neither the king, nor he that loves him best, The proudest he that holds up Lancaster, Dares stir a wing, if Warwick shake his bells. I'll plant Plantagenet, root him up who dares: Resolve thee, Richard; claim the English crown.
a) top 5 romantic things to say to your man on the most nerve-racking day of his life, b) ig dick energy, c) the fact that he uses the informal/intimate register the whole scene and then calls york by his first name as the last sentence before he actually physically claims the throne, after calling him york, prince, and plantagenet through the beginning of the scene/play... hello

Hi I am a big fan of yours and I have an ask I think when tgs speak about andal law it passes me off I was having and debate with someone and they said that aegon had thousands of years of andal laws protecting him and tge lords would not accept rhaenyra and they brought up henry vii killing the edward of Warwick
I think traditions are very beautiful but traditions which harm women need to go like in my country not my state though people would burn widows on thier husbands pyre so do they think traditions like this should have just gone on because they are traditions, when woman finally took a stand and refused sati( it is called sati ) people were like it is tradition you cannot break it ngl tgs give me the same vibe of it , like someone had to break this toxic tradition so rhaenyra being queen would have broken tradition and women would have gotten better position in society and tge fact that they brought up henry vii is funny because henry vii was the descends from John beaufort who was the son of John of Gaunt with his mistress and later wife katryn swynford the beaufort were not allowed to have a claim to the throne by their half brother henry iv the only reason henry vii said he had claim wa that he was the last lancasterian heir and through his mother margaret beaufort and he had to marry elizabeth of york to strengthen his claim sounds familiar the same way aegon marries helaena to have targaryen blooded children rhaenyra does not have to worry about blood as she has it from both her parents while aegon only has has it from his father and they were like it id not about targaryen blood yes it was henry did not have recent royal blood and that is why he had edward of Warwick executed, then they are like the lords will not accept her she has legitimate brother the targaryen are not andals , and up until viserys married alicent none from the male line were descendant from direct andal for the exception of women , up until jaehaerys started to blend in with andal culture ro appese them the dornish also have andal blood but they do not follow andal law because bell ringing they are not andals so tgs need to f off and tge funny thing is they are most of the time martell stan you know a house here women can rule and why are they nit saying anything about the martells not following andal law .o
And if the lords were so keen on andal law why did 53 houses support rhaenyra why did they f over rhaenys and supported baelon .
Sorry if this was long and anyways I love you❤️
Oh, thank you for your kind words.
First of all, TG must finally understand that there is no such thing as Andal LAW, there is only and exclusively TRADITION, and they are referring to something that simply does not exist. Even GRRM - you know, the guy who came up with all this - clearly said that inheritance laws are complicated and precedent creates precedent. He wouldn't say that if it was "a man inherits, Andal law, end of story". But they can't let that get to them. What is the official known law in HOTD? The one that Viserys established and presented to the Velaryons in the company of his Hand. As we know, the Small Council serves the Hand, so it represents them. So the king, together with the Council, established that from now on, the firstborn child will inherit, regardless of gender. And the beginning is Rhaenyra - the oldest child. The king's words are law, especially those established with the Council and confirmed by all the lords of Westeros. Also how VIserys was chosen - by the lords. Rhaenyra was also chosen by the lords - she had 53 houses vs Aegon's 27. If TG had called the Great Council instead of stealing the throne, Rhaenyra would have won.

Imagine, if you will, a non-Disney version of a Once Upon a Time-ish miniseries from twenty years ago. That is the fastest way to describe The 10th Kingdom.
“I’m wishing on a star…”
There is a world with nine kingdoms, in which all the famous fairy tales you know took place, ruled by the descendants of those tales’ heroes and villains. Snow White’s stuck-up grandson, Prince Wendell, is about to be crowned King of the Fourth Kingdom. He has a routine annual visit to the kingdom’s prison, but there’s a jailbreak, and the Evil Queen escapes. She uses magic to make Prince Wendell switch bodies with a dog, though before she can capture Dog!Wendell, he escapes through a magic mirror to…
Our world, the Tenth Kingdom. Specifically, Central Park in New York City, where he runs into Virginia Lewis, a young woman who is too cynical to believe in happy endings working as a waitress. She lives with her father, Tony, a maintenance man in a skyscraper. The Evil Queen decides to send some peons after Wendell: trolls who helped her escape, and Wolf, a half-wolf (werewolf-type, I think).
Of course, shenanigans ensue.
Despite not getting a ton of watchers when it first aired, this series turned out as a sort of cult classic. And it’s not hard to see why–it’s a fun little story with surprisingly deep worldbuilding that invites one to want to like this world. There’s strong character work with our protagonists and antagonists, too. Virginia isn’t a boring, no-feature protagonist. She’s a cynical young woman (and she has reason to be cynical) dragged into a fairy tale. Wolf wants to try to be good for Virginia but doesn’t know how. Tony is short-sighted and easily magic’d, but ultimately wants what’s best for his daughter.
And it’s got Warwick Davis! He’s in there.
There are fun villains, too! Unlike Once Upon a Time, there’s not really much of an attempt to make the Evil Queen too sympathetic (though it’s not the same Evil Queen, I guess). She’s still a good villain, who takes over every scene she’s in. And there’s the Huntsman, played by Rutger Hauer, who just feels like a fairy tale villain come to life in his performance.
There are a couple of weaknesses in the characters. Tony Lewis can be quite annoying with how short-sighted he is, making bone-headed decisions without thinking of how it would go in the long-run. The thing is that I think it works: he’s not the sort of person that cares about fairy tales, and we all know at least one person who would make exactly the same choices because they think it’s clever. Heck, if recent events teach us anything, it’s that there are plenty of people who make dumb choices for short-term cash without looking at the big picture. It helps that when push comes to shove, Tony cares for his daughter and is willing to go to great lengths to protect her.
It is also interesting to see John Larroquette playing a complete doofus, considering that the roles I remember him from, Chuck and The Librarians, he is very much not a doofus.
The trolls… can just be annoying, though. Okay, yeah, they’re supposed to be, they’re stupid trolls. And they don’t have any likable underbellies like Tony does. They are sometimes amusing, but not as much as they’re clearly intended to.
I like the idea, presented in the story, that magic items are inherently addictive. When Virginia picks up some magic shoes that may prove helpful, Wolf is quick to try to dissuade her because they’ll have to use them. And that’s an interesting idea that fits in perfectly with a fairy tale-type world–of course using a shortcut will become addictive to the user.
Given the title, and the title sequence, you’d think that the story takes place heavily in New York. Aside from the first bit of the story, it really doesn’t. I suppose the fairy tale realm of the nine kingdoms makes for a better setting, all-around, yet it still might have been fun to see these things play out in modern NYC. I suppose Enchanted scratched that itch a few years later.
There is quite a bit of suggestive content, especially in dialogue (mostly Wolf’s…) which kind of surprised me? I don’t think it’s a problem, mostly, and really, it goes along with the theme they’re going for. Because the old fairy tales could certainly be suggestive. I’m not thrilled with it, but I can’t say it’s completely out of place.
It’s fun. I don’t think it’s brilliant, but it is good, and it’s kind of cool to see how someone approached fairy tale stories in modern day on television long before Once Upon a Time came along. The only major complaint I have is that some of the effects really haven’t aged that well. Then again, it was made on a TV budget, so I suppose it can be forgiven for that.

David Bowie: Young Americans (1975)
Is Young Americans David Bowie's most overlooked, misunderstood album of the '70s, and does it deserve a better fate?
I'm honestly not sure, but after all-but forgetting about it for quite some time myself, I gradually warmed up to Bowie's abrupt and unexpected pivot into soul music as it celebrated its 50th anniversary this month.
Looking back now, you really can't blame Ziggy Stardust's disciples from wondering if Bowie had lost his ever-loving mind, when he jettisoned his glam rock alien and morphed into the 'Thin White Duke' for the tour that spawned 1974's David Live LP.
This new persona carried over into the next year's Young Americans, which introduced what Bowie dubbed "Plastic Soul," and was recorded at Philadelphia's Sigma Sound Studios: home of the Philly Soul sound made famous by Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff.
Produced by Tony Visconti (last sighted on 1970's The Man Who Sold the World, he'd spent the intervening years focused on Marc Bolan's T.Rex), the album notably also marked David's first collaboration with guitarist Carlos Alomar, who would rarely leave his backing bands thereafter.
But maybe the most distinctive contributions to Young Americans' sound came from backing vocalists Ava Cherry, Robin Clark, and a still unknown Luther Vandross, who devised the inventive call-and-response arrangements for the Top 20-bound title track.
Vandross also got a songwriting credit on "Fascination," which was based on his song "Funky Music (Is a Part of Me)," and was one of several numbers here (see "Right," "Can You Hear Me," etc.) enriched by stellar saxophone from David Sanborn.
Recording sessions were temporarily paused while Bowie embarked on the second leg of his Diamond Dogs tour, but they resumed at New York's Record Plant that December, where I believe my least-favorite cut, "Somebody Up There Likes Me," was recorded.
And then, thinking their work was done, Visconti repaired to England to record string accompaniments for "Can You Hear Me", "Win" and "It's Gonna Be Me" (an outtake showcasing Mike Garson on piano), but an inspired Bowie just kept right on creating ...
Working with engineer Harry Maslin (Barry Manilow, Dionne Warwick, etc.) and none other than John Lennon, David cut a (just OK) cover of The Beatles' "Across the Universe" and a funky new original called "Fame," which, when anchored by Alomar's rhythmic guitar pickings and spiked by Lennon's falsetto interjections, later shot all the way to No. 1.
All in all, the resulting Young Americans was a huge risk that now sounds like nothing short of a blue-eyed soul triumph, and it showed that no music genre was too big a stretch for David Bowie's talents -- even at a time of extreme, almost fatal drug abuse.
And clearly David knew what he was doing, because the suave (if rather anorexic) Duke proved more popular than Ziggy in America, where Young Americans eventually cracked the Top Ten and paved the way for continued experimentation on '76's Station to Station.
Obviously, leaving Ziggy behind was never going to be easy, and most artists in the same position wouldn't have dared try (they beat it into the ground and typecast themselves, instead), but that's why David Bowie wasn't like "most artists."
More David Bowie: The Man Who Sold the World, Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, Station to Station, Low, "Heroes", Lodger, Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps), Baal EP, Let’s Dance, Tonight, Labyrinth, The Next Day, ★.

atonement anon here! thank you for the response on my previous ask. i would like to request fic recs with some similar vibes as the movie atonement has please :) thank you lots!!
Hi, again! So what I tried to find you are fics that have some similar themes to Atonement...like betrayal, forbidden love, historical, and/or false accusations. Hope they fit what you're looking for!
Landslide by aimmyarrowshigh, spibsy
The year is 1976. In November, Jimmy Carter will take control of the White House. Americans are meeting Laverne & Shirley at their apartment in Milwaukee. Hotel California diverges from the reign of Kool & the Gang. And the FBI is still reeling from the repercussions of Watergate, the tragedy at Wounded Knee, Operation Family Secrets, and the strategic terrors of the anti-cult movement.
That's what Special Agent Harry Styles has been told is the basis of his mission to an abandoned farmhouse in rural New Hampshire.
With his hair grown out long and his shirt untucked, he's going undercover to do reconnaissance on suspected cult leader Louis Tomlinson, who has led a group of people out into the middle of nowhere, leaving no record of the life he'd had before. All Harry knows is what the agency gave him: Tomlinson's name, and instructions to figure out what he's doing with the eleven people he brought with him.
In the year that Harry spends undercover and under Louis Tomlinson's wing, he learns more than he ever expected.
Shooting Stars in the Woods by frenchkiss
A Tudor era AU. Prince Louis I of England has everything a man could ever dream of, but his lack of husband is driving his father, the King, to madness. But Louis doesn't want any of the eligible bachelors his father pushes his way. All he wants is to be able to do is marry the knight he's been in love with for two years now.
The love story of a royal and his servant, separated by class but joined by heart. Their relationship has remained a careful secret for a long time now, but when a threat to the kingdom forces them both to leave the palace, it turns out their secret isn't the only one that could topple everything they’ve ever known.
Victorian Boy by audreyhheart
Victorian AU. Harry the virgin Duke of Somerset knows little of love, while Louis the sly Duke of Warwick knows too much. When the two dukes come together for the Bilsdale fox hunt in York, Harry finds himself drawn into Louis' bed. But when secrets from Louis' dark past come to light, Harry fears that the fox isn't the only one being hunted.
Echoes & Omens by @itsmotivatingcara
Echoes of the dead come in many forms. Their imprints forever tied to the ones who'd killed them.
Louis Tomlinson is able to track the dead using their echoes, they call to him. He's used that gift to aid Scotland Yard in their investigations, with the hopes of studying Criminology at Cambridge University. He's lived a life of privilege and good fortune as a Marquess, son of the late Duke Tomlinson, with his life mapped out since day one.
Until two terrible truths are revealed.
One, he's adopted. Two, his biological parents are London's most notorious serial killers.
Against his family's wishes, Louis travels to Chicago to uncover the truth of their incarceration. Much to his dismay, his biological mother's Lawyer, Harry Styles, wants to take his case. Together, they work to uncover what really happened all those years ago, but perhaps more is revealed than they could've ever anticipated. Trapped in a whirlwind of portents and omens, Louis and Harry find themselves pitted against an enemy they'd not foreseen.

Is it true that Margaret convinced Henry to execute the two York soldiers who were guarding him?
We don't know. This is quite often stated as fact but the reports about the two Yorkist soldiers guarding him at the Second Battle of St Albans is quite confused. Edward IV's 1461 Parliament, for example, blamed only Henry for their deaths and it seems odd, in my opinion, that they did not emphasise Margaret's role if they knew she had been involved, especially given how heavily the Yorkists had been attacking her. Possibly the view that Margaret "convinced" Henry to do so or was the person who made the decision to execute them is building on the Yorkist narrative of Henry as an empty figurehead and Margaret's vicious, subversive seizure of power.
From B. M. Cron's “Margaret of Anjou and the Lancastrian March on London, 1461.” The Ricardian, vol. 11, no. 147, 1999:
There are considerable discrepancies between different reports of this incident, some of which involve King Henry and the Prince of Wales. Four chronicles report that Bonville and Kyriell remained with Henry VI because he promised them protection. Perhaps King Henry made a promise at the behest of Warwick that anyone who took the field would be pardoned if the day went against them. It would be like him, and cannot be discounted, but that he made a specific promise to Bonville and Kyriell, who therefore stayed to protect him, is less likely. This is the official version in the rolls of parliament, from which the chronicle accounts may well be drawn. It was important for the Yorkists to stress that King Henry was ‘faithless,’ as the basis of Edward IV’s claim to the throne was that Henry VI broke his oath when he abandoned the Yorkists at St Albans. This, together with hereditary descent, justified Edward IV in proclaiming himself king. The part played by the Prince of Wales is possibly a later addition, or it may contain an element of truth. Either the prince passed judgement on the ‘traitors’ or he and the queen watched their execution. In Gregory’s Chronicle the prince condemns Bonville, but Kyriell ‘that manly knyght’ was slain (in the battle?) An English Chronicle, which particularly hostile to Margaret of Anjou, contains the most detailed English account: the men were executed on the queen’s orders but the prince sat in judgement upon them and they had been betrayed by King Henry. In Waurin’s dramatic version, Kyriell plays the central role and Bonville is not mentioned. Kyriell has the temerity to bandy words with an angry Queen Margaret who demands of her son what death this arrogant man shall die, to which the prince makes the predictable response.
Cron speculates that they were executed precisely because they were men of Henry VI's household and that their refusal to assist the Lancastrian troops to free Henry from the Yorkists amounted to treason. The idea that Margaret was motivated by revenge is spurious, since there were other Yorkists - including the Earl of Warwick's brother - who were spared. Cron also makes this insightful comment on the idea of Margaret executing Kyriell and Bonville out of revenge:
An instructive comparison is the behaviour of Edward, Earl of March after the battle of Mortimer’s Cross. Edward of Lancaster, Prince of Wales, was the dynastic heir to the throne; so, legally, was Edward of March, now Duke of York, and both could claim the authority to execute traitors. The younger Edward ‘authorised' the execution of two household men. The older Edward beheaded no less than ten men, among them Owen Tudor, the father of King Henry’s half brother Jasper Tudor, the Lancastrian commander defeated at Mortimer’s Cross. Owen Tudor was not a traitor but a loyal subject of the king whose mother he had married. It was Edward of York, not Margaret of Anjou, who was motivated by revenge. Richard of York was killed at Wakefield so Edward of York executed Jasper Tudor’s father, who posed no political threat. Yet Edward is portrayed as exacting justice, whilst Queen Margaret is a ruthless vengeful woman who put to death unnecessarily two ‘faithful’ servants of the king.

Cissy Houston
American gospel, pop and soul singer who co-founded the Sweet Inspirations
The career of the American singer Cissy Houston, who has died aged 91, exemplified the vital force underlying so much modern popular music: the close relationship between African-American sacred and secular idioms, specifically the influence seeping from Black gospel music, with its deep emotional roots and eruptions of ecstatic fervour, into the fabric of R&B, soul and pop.
Houston spent 30 years as the “minister of music” at the New Hope Baptist Church in her native Newark, New Jersey. But she also sang, often with her nieces Dionne and Dee Dee Warwick, on many of the great pop hits of the 1960s and 70s, from the Drifters’ On Broadway through Van Morrison’s Brown Eyed Girl, Aretha Franklin’s (You Make Me Feel Like a) Natural Woman, Dusty Springfield’s Son of a Preacher Man and Paul Simon’s Mother and Child Reunion to David Bowie’s Young Americans.
As a founder member of a vocal group known as the Sweet Inspirations, she toured and recorded with Elvis Presley. After leaving the group in 1970 to raise her family, she pursued a solo career, recording albums and appearing in New York night clubs, which reached its peak with two Grammy awards for her traditional gospel albums Face to Face in 1997 and He Leadeth Me the following year.
She also became known as the mother of the singer Whitney Houston, whose enormous worldwide success, following her appearance in the 1992 film The Bodyguard, attracted attention to a private life that included a turbulent marriage to the singer Bobby Brown and problems with drug addiction.
Whitney, who had begun her singing career under her mother’s tutelage in the New Hope choir, was found dead in the bath of a Beverly Hills hotel in 2012, aged 48. Three years later Whitney’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, a singer and reality TV personality, died after being discovered in similar circumstances, aged 22.
Cissy Houston was born Emily Drinkard, the eighth and last child of Delia Mae (nee McCaskill) and Nitcholas “Nitch” Drinkard, natives of Georgia who moved to New Jersey in the 1920s. Delia died when Cissy – a childhood nickname that stuck – was eight, followed 10 years later by her husband. Cissy went to live with her married older sister, Lee Warrick, whose children included Dionne and Dee Dee, both only a handful of years younger than their aunt.
Virtually from infancy Cissy and her brothers and sisters had been encouraged by their parents to sing in church. They formed a vocal group, into which Cissy was enrolled when she was five. “I used to get so mad,” she told Rolling Stone magazine in 1978. “We’d be out playing in the sun with the other kids and my older sister, Marie, would make us come in for rehearsal.”
The Drinkard Singers achieved national renown, eventually appearing at Carnegie Hall and the Newport Folk festival. In 1954 Cissy took charge of the New Hope choir, which increased from 15 to 60 voices during her years in charge.
A first marriage in 1955 to Freddie Garland brought her a son, Gary, but ended in divorce. In 1964 she married John Houston, an army veteran who became her manager and with whom she had two children, Michael and Whitney.
By the time the second marriage brought her a change of surname, she was working regularly as a backing singer on pop recording sessions, in demand for her three-octave range. With the two Warrick sisters (who would alter their spelling to Warwick) and a friend, Doris Troy, she formed a unit that was soon busy in New York studios providing backing vocals on hits by Solomon Burke, Chuck Jackson and many others.
When all three of her colleagues left to pursue solo careers, she replaced them with Estelle Brown, Sylvia Shemwell and Myrna Smith. Among their regular employers was the Atlantic Records producer Jerry Wexler, who recruited them for sessions with Franklin, with Cissy providing the coloratura soprano flourishes featured on Franklin’s Ain’t No Way in 1968. Wexler also gave them their name, which formed the title of their most successful single, Sweet Inspiration, a top 20 hit when released on Atlantic in 1967.
While bringing up her children, Cissy continued to record and make occasional appearances. Although she made several solo albums for a variety of labels and producers, she was never able to match the solo successes in the pop charts of the Warwick sisters or Troy. But when Burt Bacharach recorded his own versions of some of his greatest hits in 1971, he chose her to sing One Less Bell to Answer, Mexican Divorce and All Kinds of People. In 1976 she was featured in Gospel Fuse, a gospel opera composed by Carman Moore and performed with the San Francisco Symphony orchestra, conducted by Seiji Ozawa.
On the 1989 album Whitney, which would sell more than 20m copies around the world, she joined her daughter for a duet on I Know Him So Well, from the musical Chess. In 1992 she and Jackson were reunited for a fine R&B album titled I’ll Take Care of You. By the time she achieved her Grammy gospel successes, secular music was occupying less of her time, although in 2006 she, Whitney and Dionne Warwick recorded a song called Family First for the Hollywood rom-com Daddy’s Little Girls.
In 1998 she published her autobiography, How Sweet the Sound. Fifteen years later, in Remembering Whitney, she told the harrowing story of her long but unavailing struggle to help her daughter overcome her various problems.
Both her marriages ended in divorce. She is survived by her two sons, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

On 30 August 1902, the day after the imperial family had attended the wedding of his brother-in-law Nicholas of Greece and Helen, the only daughter of Grand Duke Vladimir, in the church of the Catherine Palace at Tsarskoe Selo, Paul left St Petersburg for Italy, taking with him a case containing the three million roubles he had asked a court official to bring to him at the railway station.
Ella and Serge followed, hoping that they might somehow make him change his mind. It was to no avail. As they, like the Tsar, were to discover after the event, Paul had married his recently-divorced mistress that September in the Greek Orthodox church at Livorno (Leghorn) in Tuscany. Writing to his distraught children, he explained what he had done and why he would have to live abroad for some time.
Tumblr media
In Paris, Paul and Olga whose relationship grew stronger still, came to enjoy a cosmopolitan, cultured and stimulating lifestyle. If they were not the guests of honour at high society functions, at the opera or the ballet, they were entertaining artists, writers and distinguished visitors at home. Paul collected antiques and works of art and, in short, lived a fuller, more rewarding life than might otherwise have been the case had he remained in Russia.
He was, nevertheless, deprived of his children and even though he had been warned of the forfeits of a morganatic marriage, he may still have hoped that the Emperor would allow Dimitry and Marie Pavlovna to live with him. Instead, their guardianship passed to Serge at his request; notwithstanding the close bond the two brothers had always shared, the lack of consultation over that left Paul – although it was he who had broken all the rules – angry and bitter.
Tumblr media
At home, Marie and Dimitry would never accept the fact that their father had left them, blindly believing that he was somehow the injured party, the innocent victim of a harsh imperial system. As a consequence, both would always, though perversely, blame Serge and Ella for what they were not; in other words for not being the father who had abandoned them to begin a new life and a new family. In time, Marie's lifelong resentment would find public expression in her highly subjective autobiography, Education of a Princess, which she would publish in New York in 1930 and would tellingly dedicate to the memory of her father.
As a man who always loved children and who, for all his failings, deeply loved his nephew and niece, Serge was happy to have Dimitry and Marie under his wing. We cannot be so sure about Ella's feelings, however. That she was hurt and angered by Paul's dereliction of duty and family is beyond all doubt. Indeed, as a once intimate and loving sister-in-law, her attitude towards him changed completely and, though civil to him when they did meet again, it is unlikely she ever forgave him. Nor does her surviving correspondence, for all its diversity and detail, shed any light on her innermost feelings at this time.
Tumblr media
Yet here was a childless 37-year-old woman, who had married at the age of nineteen, who from the first year of her marriage had had to put up with endless gossip, rumour and innuendo about her husband and the state of their relationship, who now found herself with a ready-made family. While it is not always possible to take everything she wrote as fact – reminiscences coloured by time and prejudice are not the most reliable of sources – we can be sure that Marie Pavlovna was telling the truth when she wrote, 'Throughout our early childhood – throughout, indeed, our uncle's lifetime – Aunt Ella showed no interest in us or in anything that concerned us, and she saw as little of us as she could. She appeared to resent our presence in the household, and our uncle's evident affection for us.'

the only child of david holmes a court, an american jeweler, and owner of holmes a court inc. and his wife, jocasta, a british socialite and noble woman. apollonia grew up between two countries and two worlds, always having one foot on british soil, while the other, she kept neatly on the streets of new york. childhood was an amalgamation of protocols, endless tutoring, and relentless scrutiny under the watchful eye of the press.
as a teenager, she found a lifelong friend in ignes, though certain resentment has built up over the years. it's at this tender age that she started to diverge from the norm, unwilling to play by every rule that had been set by those much older than her. it could be said that her parents enabled this type of behavior by spoiling her first, which ultimately only made apollonia's volatile nature stronger.
the press had been fond of following her to nightclubs, balls, countless celebrations, naming her 'the unconventional apollonia' in the process. she, on the other hand, both loved and loathed her life, but things took a turn in her twenties, when her parents set an ultimatum and promised her the key to the holmes a court empire. all she had to do was marry well, someone who would amplify their legacy.
she met william at the behest of her parents, and thereafter started a relationship with him. the heiress with vivid brown eyes never held any love for him, and instead, preferred the company of her lover. the marriage of william and apollonia was quick, flashy and grand, and she detested every moment, but with it, she had secured herself an entire future.
at a later date, she moved to new york with him, just so she could be closer to the headquarters of her father's company. four years later, she divorced william. she never had any children, despite wanting her own, and instead turned to arts and charity in order to feel something.
over the years, many stories and rumors and man-made myths were spread about her. from the notion that she bathes in milk and sleeps in silk sheets only with a diamond choker around her neck ( very true ), to the rumors that she does indeed have a child, are just some of them.
she doesn't design most of the brand's jewelry, but she did lend a creative hand in the process of creating a few dazzling pieces. she also has two named after her, one incredibly luxurious necklace and a diamond-studded choker.
can be rather charming and witty, but also brash and brazen. loves to gamble. drives a motorcycle just to spite her image but can also show up to any event dressed to the nines. is a woman that's made of polar opposites. always smoking. the scent of smoke has gotten under her nails and she can't wash it away. the one thing about apollonia that you can never forget is how she smells. the scent of her always lingers.

soren has the same old 'poor kid makes it in life against all odds by working his ass off' backtory. lower class mother, two siblings ( he's the middle one ), an amazing track record in school and no belief in meritocracy whatsoever. even today, when most would view him as a product of it, soren would likely punch you in your throat if you attempt to tell him that's all one needs to sit among the ones who were born with golden dummies to suck on. he was nothing but an exception, his family was the rule. his life up until university was uneventful: he enjoyed studying, likes knowledge and is the type of man to always have a fun fact to sprinkle on a conversation when given the chance. he likes knowing people, their interests, what captures their attention and how that translates into the way they do business. it was no wonder marketing was his selected field. he attended warwick university worked in a restaurant for the first two years of it to afford his living in coventry when he's from york. the last two years he was fortunate enough to find a paid internship. in some much smaller local business but an opportunity is an opportunity. after university he moved to birmingham, expecting that a metropolitan area would make it easier to find job opportunities that wouldn't only allow him to eat three meals a day. he was wrong, though, the best he could do there was freelance work for some more known companies but no stability. still, that lasted three years before his decision to finally make his way down to london in 2011. somehow he found a job at hsbc, where he stayed for nine years. working for a bank provided all the financial stability he had been looking for ever since leaving york. it was 2017 the first time he ever heard about app-h inc. and it peaked his interest, but that was the extent of it. it had only been around for a year and some companies vanish as quick as they appear. he wasn't about to risk his new found ground to walk a tightrope. it was also in 2017 that he met his now wife. and he knew from day one that she would be his forever without a shadow of doubt, it was that easy. however, his wife comes from wealth and it has always been the thing to set them apart. it wasn't a problem per se, just a major difference between them. but she was down to earth and understanding, there was nothing else he needed. until, of course, 2021. app-h buys chitchatter and does a huge rebranding not only on the app ( now telegrapp-h ), but on the inner workings of the company as well. it was the perfect time now. app-h inc. was now a consolidated company, a major one at that, and the midst of a merging is the perfect time to apply for a position. cmo could seem like trying to reach for the stars with an olive branch but he had nothing to lose. and so he gained everything. the position is now his and he feels like it is always on the line, so he has to fight with tooth and nails to keep it, even if it's costing him his marriage and he's too blinded by his own accomplishment to see it.

Hi, I have heard many rumors that Elizabeth Woodwell convinced Edward IV to cancel the marriage of the Elizabeth Neville family in York today? She was the promoter of a famous judicial murder?
Hi! I don't know what marriage you are referring to be honest, but I'm pretty sure Edward IV wouldn't do anything he didn't wish to do. It's often the case when historians say that Elizabeth, Earl of Warwick (in the early years) and Cecily Neville at various points in life had too much influence over Edward but then they say he was a smart calculating man who knew military strategy, who promoted trade and finance, famously one of the rare sovereigns who left his country not in debt when he died, so it's either he was a puppet or he was a smart man of his own mind, you can't really be both. He wanted to promote the Woodvilles because they were his new kin through marriage and he could gain more supporters/tie through those marriages new wealthy families to the Yorkist cause. It was a smart move on his part, he was using them to make more Lancastrian-York alliances that would be ties through blood (marriage -new families).
As to "judicial murder" do you have in mind the execution of the earl of Desmond ? The first source for the story is this memorandum allegedly presented to Henry VIII’s (16th century) privy council by James FitzJohn Fitzgerald, Earl of Desmond, Thomas’s grandson, but there is no source of this document where it was published. Several historians admitted that he couldn't find the source. if such document really was presented it contains historical errors, such as, the memorandum’s statement that Edward IV, shocked by Desmond’s execution, caused the Lord Justice (i.e. Tiptoft) to ‘be put to a very cruel and shameful death, which is not true because Tiptof was not executed until 1470, and it was not the exiled Edward IV but the Earl of Warwick, then governing for the restored Henry VI, who ordered Tiptoft’s death. In short there is no proof that Elizabeth was ever involved in anything that happened with Earl of Desmond, her contemporaries certainly never mentioned any of the sort.
