I get that it's a but for a show, but there kind of was mini skirts for men:

The early 80s has a lot to answer for, the hair alone has caused mass amnesia on the subject of men's shorts
That's a professional sports uniform, for a winter sport from the southern states, it would have been dick shrinkingly cold, but nothing could stop the inimitable Warwick Capper from prancing about with his whole arse hanging out

wait a minit'...i'm the leadur...i make the decisions
Monday 24 March. 2024.
It's 9:04pm. i'm patiently waiting for a notification from Commbank to let me know that my investment has gone through. according to an email last Friday, you are required to leave an amount of money to be drawn out in order to "settle" any recent investments. i can't help but think i might have made a fucking massive mistake doing this.
at the same time, it's literally the first godamn time i have ever decided to invest in the stock market. i have seen other people do it. i think other people have done it and done it well. if they can pick up a bunch of kindling, why can't I pick up a small log? if they can't invest $100 into a trustworthy ETF, why can't i invest $170 into an even more trustworthy ETF? you decide...
working with Anna has been the best thing ever. at the same time, i am uber stressed to the max if i can't produce the exact sounds she is searching for. the purpose of being a music producer is to provide the goods. the same way a farmer would with consumers of a supermarket (even though this is probably not the most peachy exhibit). a funny thing is that everytime i visit Anna's, i get so flumin' hungry. i made a joke to her saying that i exist as a mere baby bird in the nest - beak wide open, waiting to be fed with food food FOOD. prayers were indefinitely answered, as she served us up a classic bacon and eggs on toast, with a hashbrown on the side. there was also kale on the side, unbeknownst to me it is actually fucking delicious? i said to Anna, this needs to be a regular thing in my chiller now! oh and yes by 5pm, i was still full. let me tell you. protein is the goat.
mullets aren't attractive. i don't care what peasant or middle aged teenager tries to convince otherwise. they are knotty, they are grotty and they are bleugh. please leave them in the 80's, when Warwick Capper was cool; when Bon Jovi was still hot; when Dame Edna was considered a real woman by Bill Oddie.
the nerve of standing on top of a bus shelter is something else. for context: when Tom and Anna dropped me off back home, we noticed too young "gentleman" posing and leisuring up on top of the New Town bus stop heading to the city. judging by the way they were kitted up, they were not mere eshays; they were more the doshed Friends School kind who aspire to be the next leader of the Greens Party, standing up for issues they would have no idea about because of their mummy$$$$ and daddy$$$$. on the flip side though, they were not causing any harm. as much as i loathe the "boys will be boys" trope, these cats were not making as many scratches as other juvenile jesters i have observed in my life.
until then.

The CuckWho’s introducing a new single: “Do a Skid C@nt!” Gold Coast punk rock trio The CuckWho’s have released their second video, “Do a Skid C@nt!” The track emerged from casual jam sessions at their usual rehearsal space, which doubles as a panel shop in an industrial area. Late-night car burnouts in the surrounding streets inspired the band to transform the sounds of screeching tires into a whimsical yet hard hitting punk tune with a 90s vibe.
The song features a collaboration with hip-hop artist SlimSpitta and includes appearances by Warwick Capper and NOFX drummer Smelly, adding even more of an authentic skate aesthetic to the mix. This blend of punk riffs, hip-hop elements, and playful lyrics creates a spirited track that refuses to take itself too seriously. Recorded at CARecordings and mixed and mastered by Undogmatic, the production preserves the raw energy of the band’s performance and the song’s genesis!
“Do a Skid C@nt!” captures a whimsical twist on the Gold Coast’s late-night car culture. Its sense of spontaneity and rebellious spirit set it apart as a memorable piece of modern punk rock.

Pamela Anderson, 52, Recreates Her Iconic ‘Baywatch’ Run For New Ad & She’s Never Looked Better
Watch
January 17, 2020 8: 39PM EST
Pamela Anderson’s still got it! She donned a plunging wetsuit and recreated her famous ‘Baywatch’ run for a new commercial.
Pamela Anderson made the sexy slow-motion run across the beach famous on Baywatch, and it caused her to become a worldwide sensation. And guess what? At 52, Pamela can still do that sexy jog. She hit the beach in Australia for an Ultra Tune car care commercial, and brought back her slow-mo run for the Aussie company’s “Unexpected Situations” 2020 campaign. The commercial was shot along the country’s Gold Coast in late Nov. 2019 and now we’re getting to see the final product.
In the ad that dropped on Jan. 17, Australian Rules Football legend Warwick Capper, 56, is driving his dune buggy down the beach when he first spies the blonde beauty. She’s wearing an extremely low-cut black wetsuit, which shows off her famous cleavage. He then takes off his sunglasses in shock, and asks, “Pamela Anderson?” She then smiles back at him, and he can’t keep his eyes off of her. Soon, the steering wheel breaks, sending his rig into the surf line and it gets stuck in the sand. Pam gives a hearty laugh, then we get a look at her squad of red one-piece swimsuit-wearing lifeguard beauties.
Soon, a giant tidal wave appears and sweeps Warwick out to sea. “Here we go again,” Pam declares, as he calls out her name for help. Then comes the magical moment as Pamela leads her team of lady lifeguards with a slow-motion run towards the water. It’s like time never stopped in the 23 years since she left Baywatch. Her blonde locks float behind her and that plunging wetsuit gives the same visual of her chest that her red swimsuit once did.
The four gorgeous lifeguards get on paddle boards and pull Warwick back onto shore. Soon an Ultra Tune repairman arrives to work on the car, but ends up being the one to give mouth to mouth resuscitation to the sporting legend. “You’re not Pamela!” Warwick exclaims, before smiling and saying, “Ahh, well!” “Avoid unexpected situations. Get your car serviced at Ultra Tune,” Pam says while giving the camera a super sultry look.
The company is so proud of Pam being their 2020 celebrity spokeswoman that they’ve been teasing still photos from the commercial for over a month on their Instagram account, beginning on Dec. 11, 2019.  Their star-studded “Unexpected Situations” campaign in the past has featured the likes of Charlie Sheen, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Mike Tyson.

Monday Nights” is not only the first studio recording of the Gil Evans Orchestra in over forty years, it’s also offers some of the most audacious and electrifying music of the new millennium. The late Gil Evans was one of the most respected orchestrators in jazz history and his fabled collaborations with Miles Davis, including “Birth of the Cool,” “Sketches of Spain” and “Porgy and Bess,” set the gold standard for modern jazz arranging. Accordingly, Evans played a key role in the development of cool jazz, modal jazz, free jazz and jazz fusion. All of these influences are strikingly present on “Monday Nights,” a particularly contemporary incarnation of Evans’ music. After a string of gigs that started in the late 70s, the Gil Evans Orchestra began a run of Monday night engagements in 1983 at the Greenwich Village club, Sweet Basil, which resulted in a number of successful live recordings by Gil Evans and the Monday Night Orchestra. The gig continued sporadically until 1994. Mr. Evans had a knack for bringing out the best in his groups comprised of first-call New York players including David Sanborn, Alan Rubin and Tom “Bones Malone,” and such musicians as George Adams, Hannibal Marvin Peterson and Howard Johnson. Gil’s sons, trumpeter Miles Evans and his brother Noah are keeping the flame alive with “Hidden Treasures,” a trilogy of recordings of which “Monday Nights” is the first. The concept here, is to feature compositions that the Orchestra played live in the late 70s and early 80s. Forthcoming are “The Classics,” featuring modern renderings of Evans’ original arrangements, including “My Ship,” and “The Meaning of the Blues,” and, the final release in the series, “Gil & Anita,” named for the late jazz icon and his wife. “Subway,” written and arranged by keyboardist Pete Levin opens the album and introduces the imperial command of the ensemble, anchored by drummer Kenwood Dennard. With dynamic twists and turns, and subtle musical shadings, this is one hell of a subway ride. Commanding solos by trombonist Dave Bargeron and tenor saxist Alex Foster, offering some respect for Wayne Shorter, add to the excitement. Trumpeter Miles Evans wrote and arranged “LL Funk” and once again Kenwood Dennard drives the music with a powerful funk beat good for both listening and dancing. With Darryl Jones on bass, special guests’ solos abound: keyboardist Paul Shaffer, even more laid back than usual; the criminally underrated Matthew Garrison and his highly original bass: and Vernon Reid bringing a thick almost heavy metal guitar tip to the track. The icing on the cake is David Mann, who weaves his bluesy, potent alto sax throughout the track. “I Surrender,” written by Delmar Brown and Alex Foster, and arranged by Alex and Charles Blenzig is a musical requiem for a heavyweight. Mr. Brown, a superb keyboardist who played with the Gil Evans Orchestra as well as Pat Martino, passed away in 2017 and “I Surrender” is his tribute. He is also present on several tracks recorded before his passing. A true musical heavyweight, Alex Foster offers another side of his soulful, highly expressive tenor. A very popular composition from the Sweet Basil days, “Groove from the Louvre,” written and arranged by John Clark, features the composer on french horn, trumpeters Shunzo Ohno and then Alex Sipiagin, percussionist Mino Cinelu, who came to prominence with Miles Davis and Weather Report, bass trombonist Dave Taylor. Deft and determined, drummer Dennard anchors the band through the gentle opening, and then the hard edged groove that follows. There’s a regal, totally swinging feel to the track, with superb ensemble work that shows this is more than just a group of soloists, but a real orchestra. “Lunar Eclipse” written by Masabumi Kiuchi and arranged by the master himself, Gil Evans, is evocative and cinematic. An Evans protégé, Gil Goldstein solos here, memorably, amidst a dreamy synthesizer background which follows him through his two solos on the track, the first of which gives away to Mino Cinelu on bongos and then drummer Dennard, raising the musical stakes once again. It’s a heady musical mixture. More of the master on “Moonstruck,” which is short, whimsical and very tasty. Tracking at 1:49, it’s an ensemble feature that’s both intriguing and attention grabbing. The recording closes with “Eleven,” also straight from the source, a Gil Evans composition and arrangement, which originally appeared as “Petits Machins (Little Stuff)on the 1968 Miles Davis recording, Filles de Kilimanjaro. The set closer is a bristling swinger, a fitting capper to this powerful set of absolutely stunning music. The groove is infectious, a potent platform for solos by alto saxophonist Chris Hunter, Charles Blenzig on electric piano and Alex Foster, who returns on tenor and continues to amaze. Gil Evans Lives! Monday Nights is available for purchase on Pledge Music. http://goo.gl/4rs6kG
