Another idea for a Dark Forest map/pmv

It follows one of the background Dark Forest characters, maybe Sparrowfeather, seeing as she's one of the girls and we need more girl villain maps that's not just about Mapleshade (though I do love her).

The story is where Sparrowfeather dies and joins the Dark Forest, but doesn't believe she belongs there. The other residences (mostly OCs because that's always fun) are like "no, we're all messed up killers, and so are you."

Maybe it follows them pointing out events in her life, like watching in a puddle the things she did (which also shows the viewer her story through that lens)

Because the chorus is "just like the rest of us," maybe the other characters somehow show their stories? Like maybe they show their crime right after showing Sparrowfeather's and they're like "see? we're both killers."

Or, if it follows my D.F Eye AU, they would show that. They would point to their eye, flashback to their murder, point to Sparrowfeather's eyes (maybe show her in a reflection) and flashback to her murder--in either case, it shows part of her story.

We could go further

The song has a theme of "you can pretend to be neat and wear a suit, but we know it's a facade" to be like "everyone always wanted to be the perfect Clanmate, but here we don't care, we're all messed up and we're all free."

Youngest deputy of BoarClan, son of Dawnstar and Sandstar.

Sailor's mouth, swears a lot. Very crass and can come off as quite rude.

Met Mallardsong as -Paws and instantly hit it off. Besties.

Once sabotaged a betrothal for her at her request.

Mallardsong (She/Her)

Youngest sister to Swiftstar, is very happy her older sister will inherit leadership and not her.

Mischevious and playful, will often skip her lessons to hang out with her friends.

Excellent singer, hence her name.

Loves to perform, usually has Lifeseeker sit in for her rehearsals.

Calls him Seeker for short, but teases him [about his full name] because she can.

Other fun facts about these two-

Very disruptive at gatherings when sitting together, Sandstar once had to pause delivering news because Mallardsong (Mallardpaw at the time) had made Lifepaw laugh so hard he was choking.

The joke wasn't even that funny it was like the equivalent of that Spongebob 24/25 gag.

Dawnstar loves Mallardsong, she's very friendly and lets Lifeseeker invite her to the camp all the time as a guest. She knows how important Swiftstar's family is to him, so if it helps with their peace negotiations, who is she to stomp all over her son's choice of friends?

Lifeseeker sabotaged Mallardsong's betrothal by challenging her fiance to a match at the gathering and thoroughly destroyed him, like humiliated him. To the point it would be an active detriment for the 'royal family' of CardinalClan to maintain the betrothal.

The magistrates were not happy, Mallardsong was.

They often make excuses to meet up and ditch work, neither are very interested in leadership and would much rather just hang out.

Some Warrior Cat Character designs for a MAP Idea i had, if I dont decide to just animate it myself... I don't know if anyone would be interested in helping me animate a MAP haha, but I worked hard to make the designs animation friendly just incase. Enjoy, and if you would be interested in the MAP, the song would be 'Get in the Water' from Epic the Musical, and it's part of a little AU/Headcanon I made up, Darkforest/Starclan themed.

Warrior cat map call ideas bleh

Looking out for you-Crow Feather map call

Basically a map that follows CrowFeather and his side of the story with his relationships, he made mistakes he lost his mate,ended up leaving another and fell caused a medicine cat to suffer the consequences. But everyone hates him but he has a side to and this map is a bit au ish but follows CrowFeather.

Hopelessly devoted to her(Male Cover)-Ash Fur au map

So this one is a slight color pallet map of Ashfur in love with Squirrel Flight and constantly trying to win her love over with flowers, prey and so on as more and more things he does makes him obsessed with her which scares her but on his eyes he sees her happy and smikeing.

Basically a build up untill he refuses to believe Squirrel Flight is afraid of him and caused the fire scene.

Ruined my life-Gorge Paw & Tiger Star au

This idea! So I found out about Gorge Paw and how unfair it was for him to die by TigerStar cause he "reminded" him of Firestar. So this au is that cats start off in Star Clan as cats years ago either exile them out or not but Gorge Paw confronts him instead and does the job but tells him how he ruined his life before exiling him.

Rotting Raven-Raven Wing horror au

Okay! I heard "The Hearse" song and thought of Raven Wing basically how he was killed by MapleShade and was buried only to be digged up to be rotting and exposed. So this au is Raven Wing waking up and wondering about unaware he is legit rotting before along with the lyrics he begins to rot and slowly becomes a skeleton as he is scared and horrified before realizing what the truth was and then going to Starclan in a normal appearance.

Cry me a river -Fallen Leaves au

Okay this au I had years ago but forgot about it so remake! Fallen Leaves is a crying forgotten cat in a cave that often Is dripping wet with rain and "Tears?" As it shows he is crying water falls in his eyes and constantly is crying. He often would fill the cave with his tears in river shapes as then he finds Holly and so she doesn't become like him he protects her and keeps her alive.

as i'm sure you may know by my sideblog @coyotix, i am a warrior cats kid. mainly for the animation yknow i like drawing animals and it helps develop my art style, but it won't stop me from getting involved in the characters and (occasionally good) plotlines. au animatic are fun too.

well you see the problem with being in such a large animation community is that almost every idea has been done before so originality is really tough to pin down. so many times i have gotten a fantastic idea for an animation only to find that like six people have done it already. like it won't stop me from doing it but then i don't feel as original abt it yknow? not a self deprecating thing, it's just a bit disappointing?? if that makes sense??

so it's currently 2:18 am and im listening to music, and chant from hadestown started playing and OH MY GOD i had a fantastic idea for a map with the song, using stories and characters from the broken code arc!! and i was immediately disappointed with myself because it's a well known song and a well known story, so naturally, someone has done it already.

NOBODY HAS DONE IT.

I FOUND A WELL KNOWN SONG WITHIN THE ANIMATION COMMUNITY AND A WELL KNOWN PLOTLINE WITHIN THE WC COMMUNITY.

AND THEY HAVE NOT YET BEEN COMBINED.

I FEEL SO FUCKING POWERFUL.

maybe this is my ""hot take"" for the warrior cats community, but are we really as a fandom complaining about the songs people are using in maps?

i can understand it from a "there should be more diverse music used" standpoint, but getting genuinely upset with younger people in the fandom using hazbin hotel songs or making the 100th rasputin map or whatever isn't the way to get your point across-

(the only reason you should really be mad at kids using hazbin hotel songs is the fact that they're kids using hazbin songs, kids need to get as far away from that as possible, it is a very adult show- not overly relevant but thought i should get that fact out of the way; or i guess people probably shouldn't be making maps using poison, that is the least appropriate song you should be using at all, but at the very least hazbin songs as a whole are just not thematically appropriate regardless of the fact that they're too mature for kids to be using)

the same goes for tearing into people for their music tastes

i thought there were more adults in this fanbase, but considering the amount of people i've seen have that attitude makes me begin to consider otherwise

is there REALLY no better way to get across the message that there should be more diverse songs used in warrior cats maps? i guarantee you, people will be 100% more willing to get on board with that if you stopped tearing other people, their music tastes, and their own projects apart

i also think that there's a serious problem with people in the map community being put on a pedestal-

i think people are forgetting that the warrior cats map community is a part of a fandom and ISN'T a funded studio making full tv shows or whatever, you all need to really stop talking and thinking about it like that, do you not realize how harmful that is?

the warrior cats map community is a group of warrior cats fans who like to animate characters from a book series to music they like, THAT'S IT

the people in the community are not celebrities and the majority of them are doing it for fun in their spare time and do not plan to be/are not professional animators or creators and on top of that, many of them are beginners or kids looking to have fun so trying to tear into them for having fun doesn't make you anything other than an absolute ass in my mind

it's one thing to go "man, why are there so many hazbin hotel maps popping up? what about hazbin hotel screams 'turn me into a warrior cats animation' at all?"

but it's another to start loudly complaining about how "UGH THERE'S NO GOOD WARRIOR CATS MAPS ANYMORE, I WISH SOMEONE WOULD START MAKING GOOD WARRIOR CATS ANIMATIONS AGAIN LIKE *insert whatever maps you want*"

i would like to remind you, warrior cats maps are fan projects- you are also a fan! make that map you have an idea for!

"but what if no one joins it? what if not enough people join and it doesn't get made? what if i fail completely? the warrior cats map community is hard to get into"

valid concerns! but isn't at the very least *trying* better than sitting on twitter loudly complaining and waiting for someone to do something for you? that sounds much more fulfilling to me at least, and even then you can try again!

maybe it's just my corner of the internet, but i don't see a whole lot of people advertising their maps, i see people *complaining* that not enough people are making maps that they want to see and i think that's something that should really change

i WANT to see more diverse and creative warrior cats maps, but i also don't want to stop seeing people making the maps that they want to make, whether that be the millionth mapleshade map to a breakup song! i don't care, let people have fun and make what they want to make as long as they're not hurting anyone!
