Week_8
This week's task was a multiple-choice test on python scripting.
There were a couple things I wasn't fully certain about but after giving each question some thought was able to determine the answers.

The Drum
https://www.thedrum.com/news/2020/03/02/can-graphic-design-save-your-life-brief-history-the-epidemic-psa
Not to get into race but in Asian cultures, becoming a doctor is the upmost pride for asian parents. Sadly, I did not meet that achievement nor did I become a vet (like I wanted). However, the more I learn about designing the more I realize giving audience the visual of caution and infographic knowledge are also ways to ‘save’ people.. maybe not physically or directly, but it’s better than nothing. I always thought there’s not much I can do with art to change the world, but you don’t need grand ways to change the world. A small act can change in big ways.
The best way for people to get informed about different sicknesses or issues is through the news, however sometimes through news don’t always get across clearly. When we see a visual explanation about certain issues or sickness, we understand better. Nowadays, so many information is shared through infographic, animated storyline or simply in illustrated form. It’s effective and it grasps people’s attention. Jeremy also shared the meme where the dad mocks his kid about being a designer rather than a doctor (to save someone on the plane), though we may not be able to save someone’s lives immediately on the spot, we can spread awareness and teach the audience to project and prevent.
