Just finished ghost trick and it was super good. I do agree with you that the ending should have been written differently like how did Jowd never invite Lynne over for 10 years? Also from a gameplay perspective I wish we could have played around with the switch power a little more since most of its uses are pretty obvious while Sissle’s are very fun to mess with. Finally unless I missed something was Lynne taking care of Kamila for five years? I feel like having to raise the child of the man she idolized who is now in prison for murder while trying to forge her own path as a detective is a gold mine of untapped story potential. Tbf it is Sissle’s story but I think the situation did warrant some dialogue about the struggles Lynne would have gone through taking in this child.
But yeah it was a great experience! Really happy I played it and super sad it never got another instalment.
the way lynne was essentially just a way to prepare the scene for jowd pissed me off sooooooo bad i am SO mad she never got an actual character arc, because it would be the world's most natural progression for her AND the game's story in general.
she suffers a horribly traumatic event in her childhood and proceeds to black out the memory and avoid any mention of it in the years that follow, EXCEPT for the moment that spawned her hero worship of the mentor who saved her, and that she based the rest of her life and future career on. we find out that, no shit, her memories are unreliable, that her mentor did NOT save her child self, and actually put her in considerable more danger with his actions, leading to the death of an innocent man at that... and this doesn't change a thing about how she sees him? he's her hero and savior to the end? she literally forgets everything that happened?! HELLO????
