There is narrative purpose as to why I figured a childhood friend would fit in well with Ultraman: Rising's plot in itself

the movie is very family-centric, and a lot of how kenji achieves peace with himself in the film is by reconnecting with the past, be it his family or the culture he left behind

while i figured that it would be fun to write a reluctant team-up to lovers, bc ill be able to play around w kenji's personality pre-Emi, i also didnt see the place of a romance forming while he's struggling being a single mom

but i also wanted the story to take place during the movie's run bc i wanted to include Emi since she plays a big part in us learning who Ken is, so writing a fic that starts after the film didnt feel in the cards for me

since kenji grows as a person by the end of the film through making peace with his conflicting identities and his tumultuous past, i thought having a childhood best friend would make sense since i dont think he has the space to introduce anyone new in his life

bc reader is a childhood friend who he is meant to be close to, i cant write kenji interacting with reader the same way he is at the start of the film because there is a familiarity that breaks down his walls— which caused me to have a dilemma about how to characterize him

it also made me a bit sad that i cant write full-on ken sato the "egomaniac" bc i think thatll be fun since he's such a boyfailure

but that means that we see a softer ken when he interacts with reader, someone who is a bit more vulnerable with showing that he strives for further connections in his life even if he wants to look like he can do it all by himself

Kenji feels alone and disconnected from everyone, including you

it's also clear to the audience that kenji doesnt have any friends, and anyone he's friendly with is probably friends with him on a surface level. Ami states in their first interview that he is known as someone who keeps others at a distance, and who is untouchable

the team behind Ultraman: Rising did state that there is a deleted scene where he is clubbing, which is meant to show that he feels alone even in a sea of bodies. and his dad in the movie isnt surprised that he is throwing parties at his house, so it just clues us in that he probably lived life with very shallow connections and has filled his time with materialistic pursuits (e.g. his car collection...what he need a mclaren for)

i decided to make the reader someone from the 1% for two reasons: first being so that i can explain why her and kenji meet up over the years (i see a lot of friends who migrated to north america only once a year and we're still close!), and second, because i wanted you to be on the same playing field if not higher playing field than him.

Ken puts up the front that he doesn't need anyone else, but he is insecure about how he thinks you don't need him.

bc u have ur own things going on!! u have ur own friends

what makes it worse is that u genuinely think that kenji is the same. u think that since he's very successful, he would have his own thing

i havent touched up on it much yet, but it's very evident to kenji that you will readily pick yourself over him, which isn't a bad thing but it reminds him when his dad picked Ultraman over keeping his family together

ken feels like he can never be anyone's first choice or priority, and your situationship messes this up further

I haven't touched much on what happened between them yet in the story because it's building up to it, but

it soon feels for ken that youre only seeking him out on convenience. that he doesnt matter to you beyond what his body can do for you

bc spoiler: you are the villain in the situationship! you're the one who insists that everything is casual yet you keep the line blurry

^ karma is gonna get to u soon in the main storyline ure gonna be dry heaving when u realize u actually do want something with him

your constant back and forth with him will be revealed in the flashbacks... you not wanting more than a casual relationship yet youre talking abt what it would be like if you two got married???

Spoiler but during the situationship years, you're also the first one to say "I Love You" ROMANTICALLY yet youll later on backtrack and say that you didnt mean it in that way

can you blame him for getting confused and insecure about where you stand and whether or not he actually matters to anyone.

it doesnt help that his presence in your life is actively harming your reputation and career.

in ch8, it's briefly mentioned that ur media hate train is caused by ppl who are paying for bad press abt u starting from when you were 18. if you remember ch3-4, kenji freaks out abt a new article abt u two, and ch6 he was conscious of what others were saying.

one thing i want to elaborate in a separate post is that ken is AVOIDANT ATTACHMENT and reader is written to have DISORGANIZED ATTACHMENT.

Even if Kenji is avoidant due to his trauma of abandonment (e.g. self-reliant, avoids social connections), he can't help but yearn to be with you

so it's so confusing to him bc with everyone else, he would want to leave first. and he's close to leaving you so many times

yet you keep making these promises, saying sweet things about how much you need him, that he cant help but get roped into it a bit

When he is younger, he's fully aware that it is not a healthy mindset, but even if you're just using him at least it means that he still gets to be in your life. It makes him feel needed.

in the present timeline, sometimes those thoughts definitely cross his mind but at present he is focusing on maintaining the boundary you guys set about strictly being friends

So far I hope you caught in the story [as of ch8] from the subtext or dialogue that

in the present timeline, you are both 26 years old

the situationship started when you were 16 and lasted until you were 23

bc ure both high profile starting when you were 18, and u both publicly seem a lot closer than what ure claiming to be, it is well-documented that you two kind of go back and forth with each other (think justin and selena/shawn mendes and camila cabello)

(a new photo recently surfaced of shawn and camila together at Copa América and ppl were kind of confused as to whether or not they got back together again after breaking up for like the fourth time and i was like omg... home base core...)

when you both were 23, three years ago, you two had a really bad falling out caused by your previous situationship

it caused you officially end it for good, and while you maintained your friendship for those three years you weren't able to properly see each other face to face (partly. bc covid is canon in the fic HAHAHA but i havent talked abt it)

1: I...actually hated him at first, I have to admit!! I feel SO bad admitting that because obviously I love him like a sad little puppy now. I think considering his introduction his breaking into my grief over Jackie and saying "KILL YOURSELF, NOW!!!" You can understand. And I kept not understanding why he was SUCH a popular character as when I kept doing quests, he just kept being an annoying asshole! He still is, that's abit of the charm, but there was this one quest that somewhat redeemed him in my eyes, if I may use that word loosely!

The quest Chippin' In, where after a moment of distraught with another character (Rogue) you gotta leave her alone for a bit, so you and Johnny head to his grave site. Being a roleplaying game everyone's conversation with Johnny will be different, but for me it was somber and eye-opening and a little relatable even. His grave site doesn't even HAVE anything denoting that it's him buried there, after everything he did and what he /fought/ for, the world basically moved on and forgot him, nothing more but a crazy terrorist rockerboy...

I personally made an attempt to cheer him up, might be in vain, he's still dead and only in one undead guys head, but yeah. He was vulnerable, he's a HUGE dick but it comes from somewhere- insecurity. And thats AWESOME for his character. Now I just bully him with love :) Also it made me realize all of his other cute moments WERE cute moments!! God i need to finish AND replay 2077

12: hmm. The tongue piercing I JUST drew him with >:) Im not sure I HAVE more because he's already a very varied character. Did you know hes canonically bisexual as hell? Love him for that. King. 🫶

23: Hard to say I have just one when he's such a cutiepie, but this one comes to mind. Context, it is of course the year 2077 and the player character doesn't know how to use an old-style type phone, so, cause hes an OLD MAN!!! he does this. I found it SOOO annoying at the time even after the Chippin' In realization because RUDE!!! I know how to use a phone... But I jist think it's like another rlly good character moment cause the player character really would not know, would they?

8: Probably a lot of things- but in recent memory I was thinking about how I despise how people (And frankly I think the books themselves are guilty of this) characterize him as just. A proxy for whatever THEY r thinking as the reader. I'm not saying he has a LOT of character and AGAIN the book thing but it's just something that's made me start hating his character. How hes JUST a protagonistguy to everyone, EVEN THE FANDOM!!! THE FANDOM IS SUPPOSED TO FIX PROTAGONISTGUY PROBLEMS 😭

Hi, it's the same anon again. I really liked your answer to my previous question, so now I also have to ask: if you were tasked with turning her into a hero, how would you do it?

okokok!  I’m sorry this took so long to answer - I was just debating whether to start from her original personality or her current characterization, and whether to involve Bruce or Damian or neither or both, and whether I should talk about making her a costumed hero or a behind the scenes player... just.

So many options so lets see.

1. THE PRE-CHARACTER ASSASSINATION CONTINUITY ANGLE:  If I’m allowed to retcon a bunch of history out in a Crisis or something, and thus pick her up from the Lexcorp days.  So as a refresher she was at odds with both Ra’s and Bruce at this time, and was striking out on her own trying to take down LexCorp from within.  Meanwhile, she was pretending to be a ruthless Lex-jr.  Also during this time,. Bruce was trying to get in touch with her and/or observing her from afar with binoculars I guess.

SO.  We go with that.  So he’s trying to see her, and she’s still dodging him - sending her reps to meetings with Bruce Wayne, etc.  And when he sees the things she’s doing as CEO of LexCorp, it’s strange to him and at odds with what he  knows of her, so he starts engaging with her on a CEO level.  Proposing deals, making strategic moves to weaken LexCorp, just... playing chess with her with their companies as the pieces.  Eventually this leads to a conference where Talia and Bruce really do show up, and Bruce finally finds out what Talia’s doing - although being Bruce he probably suspects anyway but whatever. 

They declare a truce/alliance.  They start to investigate LexCorp together and eventually, with Clark’s help, manage to expose Lex as a murdering criminal which results in him being kicked out of office as president.  Talia sells off LexCorp’s assets (to... idk, Ted Kord or something, Bruce is rich enough, I feel like if he owned LexCorp that would break some laws about monopolies).  She then becomes involved setting up an environmental advocacy foundation.

Romance Option: Bruce and Talia end up allying on some environmental causes, and reconnect, thus rekindling their relationship.

Nonromance option: That doesn’t happen, though they may still end up allying.

Either way she eventually discovers that Ra’s had found out that she really did have the baby she claimed to miscarry, and had his adopted parents executed.  Ra’s is is raising him in secret to be a perfect warrior and the perfect heir.  When Talia finds this out, she determines to get her son back from her father, and this involves Talia and Bruce joining forces to find Damian.  Once they have him, Talia realizes that she can’t protect him from Ra’s with all his resources, not alone.  So she ends up joining forces with the Batfamily to keep close to her son, and keep him safe.

This results in either Talia eventually becoming a behind the scenes helper (thus an Oracle style hero) or becoming sucked into Bruce’s adventuring world, if we want her in a costume.  More details on some ideas about how that would work below, after the base idea for the second idea.

2. THE "LOVE IS REDEMPTION” ANGLE:  Starting from current continuity.  The League of Assassins turns on Ra’s and murders him, keeping his corpse hostage.  Then they kidnap Damian and start chipping away at his mind, trying to brainwash him into becoming their new leader.  Bruce and Talia are forced to put their differences aside to rescue their son before his mind can be irrevocably changed.  There is also some disagreement as to whether Ra’s should be saved - Bruce thinks it’s his time to go.  Talia believes that, for all his faults, Ra’s is the only thing that has kept the League from going off kilter until now.  This turns into a long campaign, and during their travels and investigations, they’re forced to face some truths about their history together. 

Anyway once they find Damian, he’s sort of on the line between lost to them and fighting to retain himself.  He’s not responsive to Bruce’s attempts to get through to him because he’s angry at Bruce for being such a neglectful ass... and at first he isn’t responsive to Talia either - instead his rage over her treatment of him during That Morrison Thing is vented and he attacks them both.  Eventually, desperation to get through to her son forces her to break through her own emotional walls and apologize.  She ends up explaining how she never wanted him to die, how it was all talk and he wasn’t meant to be there.  And she didnt want to hurt Damian, she wanted to hurt Bruce, because when she needed him most he left her alone.  At this point, it comes out that she had been tortured and murdered hundreds of times in Death and the Maidens, and it broke her, and he hadn’t even realized there was something wrong with her, he just. Left her there with Nyssa.  But she begs Damian not to be broken, too - she told him once that she had never had a choice, but he did.  And he still does.

This results in Damian finally coming to himself, and we have a family hug.  

Talia initially wants to resurrect her father, but she realizes she has to let him go - centuries of constant lazarus exposure had changed him just as much as it changed her, it was just done in slow motion, and she’s sure the man he originally was would want the thing he became to rest, now.  

At this point we can go in two main directions.

- Talia could take control of the League but start to repurpose it from an assassins group/terrorist organization to a more prosocial organization - this borrows from Arrowverse where Talia recently agreed to help reform the League, but as a League of Heroes this time.  

OR

- They could attempt to dissolve the League, but have someone manage to resurrect Ra’s anyway once they’ve left, perhaps by summoning his spirit into another body or some suck like that.  At which point the League would return mostly to normal.

Either way, Bruce and Talia still have their spark, but they still go their separate ways.  Talia has a lot to do to make up for her actions for the past years, after all, and if we’re doing CURRENT current continuity then Bruce has a girlfriend already anyway.  But even so we leave them in something like their older status quo - their feelings exist, but life keeps them apart... but maybe one day.

From here we branch again, and much of this applies to the Lexcorp idea, as well.

For a behind the scenes hero!Talia: she spends the next few years doing charity work, familiarizing herself with the superheroes and vigilante world as it currently exists, and developing a network of allies.  Eventually, she naturally gravitates toward filling some of the gap left by Oracle and Alfred: she uses her engineering and technical skills for research, networking and ops for the superhero world at large, and her medical training as the medic of the Batfamily. 

For a costumed hero!Talia:

Option 1: She joins Batman’s Outsiders as a redemptive measure, and to remain close to her Beloved and her son.

Option 2: She eventually gets wind that the League (or a splinter, in the case where she took over herself) is behaving in nefarious ways.  She suspects that her father may have returned, but in order to investigate she cannot be recognized.  Therefore, she decides to blend with the costumed crowd by taking on a costumed identity, supposedly as a temporary measure, but in time she realizes that being a proactive hero helps her deal with her guilt, and makes up in part for everything she did while she was suffering lazarus madness.  ...then I’d put her in the Outsiders anyway.

i have despised those who played sweethearts, then revealed themselves as addicted to ic/ooc/whatever drama if it gave their muse(s) the spotlight, impulsivity and not really thinking about ic consequences over ooc and vice versa thus possibly harming their rp partners and the shared trust they have, those who only made their muses bond with fucking traumas because its the easiest way to both get attention and 'develope their character' (spoiler; its not!) and with people i cared about that revealed themselves as completely unwilling to take blame for anything that they caused unless it was to gather pity points and try to trick the other person in dropping it due to feeling bad for them waa waa waa. oh, and it includes trashtalking or making up sudden problems about other people who are supposedly close to them because its the easiest way to gather, you guessed it, attentions and pity points! its easier to blame things on people than to look at ourselves and say ''hey, maybe i am the problem, i should work on that...'' and while i can understand that you may not have the correct help network or even the meanings to help yourself, its very hard. but the moment you start hurting people, its when your mind should be dead set in getting actual fucking help. with ANY means necessary. bull-fucking-doze through everything just to get help.

the problem in this is that you promised me to try and change, or fuck off from our lives forever, which is a very convenient alternative of saying ''i do not intent in changing how i behave ever so ill leave you alone''. to quit rp because it was harming your mental health with various drama, and you said that ''you were plenty pissed at yourself'' for ''letting this happen'', when in reality you could have changed it around with a bit of spine put into it, but all the sweet words of support me and others gave to you were better than try and forcing yourself in an uncomfortable position of struggling to change and improve yourself. guess what you did? you never stopped rping. you took some days off cowering to see if there was gonna be backlash, then noticed that we werent going to call you the fuck out for your behavior, and went back to it immediately with 0 remorse, keeping the stuff our muses gifted you because we did not stopped you or told you anything about it so hey a loophole to exploit for muse purposes! it didnt mattered that another person was hurt by the fact that you were finicky and kept making up excuses to keep your muse in a cute uwu relationship as long as you had what you wanted and you could get yourself out of trouble by squeezing out a few tears. im very convinced that you only kept it around to have an excuse to have other relationship, so as soon as you got your #1 prize nothing else mattered to you, but you ALSO wanted that. for your impulsivity, you put muses and muns through uncomfortable, VERY alarming scenarios just to fullfill your need for your muse to be at the center of a fucked up show, and when confronted about it, you would pull the guilt trip card. im over that.

Talking if’s and but’s is fun for speculation’s sake but take whatever im about to say with a few grains of salt because these are just farfetched hypothesis. also sorry this came out super long, im very verbose when it comes to shinsha

I’ve touched on the subject of Shinsha going to the moon with Phos a few times (like here), but I think its important to determine when, exactly, Shinsha would come with Phos.

Are we speaking of a completely different timeline, one where Phos asked Shinsha to become their partner since the very beginning? If that’s the case, I cant really see Phos becoming interested in finding the truth about Sensei or the lunarians and the two would keep on being good friends until one of them was abducted or someone else decided to embark on a journey to unveil the truth.

Are we speaking of a timeline where Shinsha accepts to go to the moon in chapter 52? That’s a tricky one because Cinnabar had pretty strong reasons to refuse to go. Maybe im just very paranoid about characterization, even if this is not fanfic, but it would be very out of character of them to come with Phos and put aside their pride for the umpteenth time, after Phos used them and brushed them off over and over during the years.

I think that the reason why people say that if Cinnabar went with Phos this whole disaster (the rift btw moon and earth gems, the night raid and Phos becoming a war criminal) wouldn’t have happened is because Cinnabar has always been good at channeling Phos’ chaos. 

What Cinnabar brought to Phos’ personality was direction, caution and insight. It is not by chance that, the second Phos could no longer rely on Shinsha for counsel, things rapidly escalated toward madness.

The last of Phos and Cinnabar’s conversations happens in chapter 61, way too late to mend things: Phos should have talked with cinnabar sooner, but under Lapis’ influence and crescent grief they were growing colder and more impatient and they never understood Cinnabar enough to know that Shinsha was truly interested in helping them. Phos hurt Cinnabar for the last time in chapter 52, proving Cinnabar once more that they were not the right person to help Cinnabar and that Shinsha’s trust had been misplaced. Their last conversation, in chapter 61, can be nothing else than a disaster.

I’ve written a whole meta on how Shinsha was about to shake Phos’ outstretched hand. If Phos didn’t take back their offer, Shinsha would have come with them to the moon. 

To mend things and have Shinsha come with Phos, then, we’d have to change an important line of dialogue like the one where phos takes back their offer (“can we go together?… or so I’d like to say”) and/or when phos pretends not to hear shinsha when cinnabar asks them to please not go. 

we gotta make it so that either shinsha swallows their pride and explains things to phos, or phos doesnt pretend they didnt hear them.

Now, I’ll give myself and other Shinsha stans out there a moment to contemplate the fact that we were robbed of Shinsha in lunarian clothes, as well as the fact that we were robbed of the amazing and heartfelt dialogue that would have followed phos hearing cinnabar’s plea and listening to them. This manga is so cruel, truly. 

With Shinsha on Phos’ side, im gonna explore two possible scenarios among dozens that might have happened:

Canon divergence 1:

Shinsha and Phos go to the moon alone following that alternative dialogue in chapter 52. This means that the first time phos goes to the moon, cinnabar is with them.

for this plan to work, phos probably doesnt need cairn’s complicity. i imagined cinnabar and phos could be abducted in a scene reminiscing of chapter 2, when they first meet and cinnabar saves phos.  

on the moon, phos is not alone to face the truth of the dusted gems, they’re not alone to listen to aechmea’s explanations and lies and they’re not alone bargaining with aechmea. cinnabar is shrewd and attentive, patient, smart, and they always advised phos well. add to this the fact that, since they agreed on coming to the moon together, these two dumbasses finally made a few steps toward proper communication.

as the power team ive always known they can be, shinsha and phos balance each other pretty well. i can see shinsha convincing phos to stay on the moon longer to learn more about the truth (phos only stayed 2 months the first time). Assuming that Shinsha doesn’t accept (pls don’t accept) to have someone suppress their poison (assuming its something the lunarians can do), their mercury is a pretty strong weapon and it could give them some bargaining power over the moon people. 

also im not sure how the pearl eye thing would work: to control them effectively, aechmea would need to implant a spy on both shinsha and phos, but would he be afraid of their mercury? after all it’s something even lunarians have “a hard time” healing padpa from after the night raid. so let’s give divergence!Shinsha self-confidence points for finding out their mercury is cool and good.   

now things start to become really different from canon. shinsha is considered reliable by the earth gems, so with two gems rather than only phos to advocate for the moon people’s cause, the earth gems might be more prone to believe them and phos might not need to pull off their rebellion thing.

which means no rift between moon and earth gems, which means no cairnmea arc, no night raid, no nearly-dead padpa and no to at least a dozen new emotional traumas for our phos.

i wish i could be more precise than this, but at this point the story could develop in so many directions that i’d leave it to your own imagination. my biggest point of concern is phos becoming human. if they dont acquire the pearl eye they wont be human enough to activate sensei and that would be a huge problem.

Canon divergence 2:

Shinsha follows Phos to the moon the second time Phos goes(chapter 62). this makes less sense character-wise, but I’m gonna explore this option anyway because it allows me to include other gems as well.

Cinnabar’s judgment is trusted, they’re smart. If Shinsha decided to come, other gems might follow their example, like Rutile. Rutile wanted to go and they’re friends with Cinnabar. They might gloss over their attempt to ask for Sensei’s permission if Shinsha guarantees for Phos’ plan. However, if Rutile comes, Padparadscha will stay on earth (as Rutile says in chapter 62). Even if Padpa came to the moon, they would be under Rutile’s influence and/or they’d have to take Rutile’s feelings into account. It’s possible that they would have less room to operate freely.

If Padpa and Rutile come, a lot of other gems could follow. To the point it would be hard to keep the escape a secret. The rift between moon and earth gems could run deeper than in Canon: worst case scenario there could be a fight between the two groups, best case scenario the two groups talk it out and some gems decide to trust Phos while others stay on earth. Cairn is a wild card whose behavior im not entirely sure about. Its possible that they would simply not follow Phos if Phos already had a partner with them (Shinsha) and we’d be spared the whole cairnmea arc and if that’s not something worth celebrating I don’t know what is.

Once again, if Shinsha is with Phos, they’ll push Phos to think before they act. They could help Phos strengthen their position as leader and use their mercury to give the gems some bargaining power over the moon people. I can see Shinsha acting a little like Amethyst 84: interested in the moon, maybe more wary, cold, objective…

The night raid would not necessarily be the failure it was. Shinsha would be on Phos’ side and spare Phos the emotional trauma they woke up to in chapter 72, when they realized that Cinnabar, the one person they thought a friend, attacked them. With Phos and Padpa’s strength, numbers and Shinsha’s mercury on their side, the moon gems would win. Earth and moon gems could finally talk and solve the problem.

The question is whether Phos was human enough during the night raid. If they asked Sensei to pray, would he activate already? Otherwise, everyone’s efforts would be in vain and the earth gems could assume the others lied or maybe aechmea could decide to turn everyone to dust and implement yet another plan.

soooo to sum this up: yeah, i do think that if cinnabar came with phos a lot of drama could have been avoided. maybe not all of it, maybe new drama would have ensued, but that’s life. still, it would have been very out of character both for phos and for cinnabar to go together to the moon. and ichikawa would never give up the cairnmea arc.

OUAT Rewatch season 1

So I finished Season 1! I love this season, watching it really reminded me why I love this show so much. More of what I thought of this season under the cut. It’s mostly broken down by characters.

General thoughts: It was really great. There is so many hints of what’s to come and little bits of foreshadowing  throughout the season that it’s very easy to see how well everything was planned. Which i think eventually declined or the creators just choose shock value over other things later in the series, which is a conclusion I come to based on the fact that events in later seasons are contraindicated by this season. I forgot all about how much music is in this show with the great score and how the evil queen and “evilness” have their own theme. The attention to detail is great.

Kathryn: I love Kathryn/Abigail, she’s a really amazing person and i’m so happy she’s not dead. I completely forgot that she wasn’t really dead. I do feel it was so messed up the way Regina was willing to have her killed considering the way she pretended to be her friend.  

Regina: She’s really unsympathetic this whole season. The only times I really felt for her was when Daniel died and most moments involving Cora and the end of the season when she says she loves Henry and then crys alone in his bedroom. She’s pretty awful the rest of time. Though I like her as villain, I’m not sure how I feel about her as a character. I also think season 2 is what really gets people to like because the presence of Cora really puts Regina in the light of a victim because Cora is insanely abusive. As well as  the fact that I do believe Regina does and is written to love Henry and being without him really messes her up. But I believe part of her love for him is selfish and is because he makes her feel more whole. Which might be why people root for her because she is definitely broken and has a void in her and wanting to see her find real happiness makes sense. I do believe she blames the wrong people for her sadness. 

Rumple: Is a very sympathetic character this season even with all the crazy shit he pulled, like the fire and attacking Belle’s dad. This is because though we can see the darkness in him we don’t fully see the actually evil toxicness of him, like the abusive way he treats Belle in later seasons, the things we find out about him and Milah. And the only time we get to see him before he’s linked to a dark being/power is showing us how much he cares about his son. Which brings me to probably the greatest reason he is sympathetic, his motive for creating the curse is to find his son. Which is actually not a terrible reason. There is also the fact that he resides in a very grey area this season, you never really know who’s side he’s on, he’s definitely not a hero but he doesn’t put himself  squarely in villain’s corner either.I believe people who love Rumple as more then a villain and  still love him and belle are holding on to his characterization here, when he’s more of a grey character. I’m not saying he didnt show signs of his worst traits cause he did like when he refers to Bae as a possession, but they were minuscule enough that they could be explained a way with the darkness. Which is why I think many people including me liked him and him and belle together during the early seasons. When I first watched the show I was still okay with up until the end of season 3, i think. I’m not saying he’s not a good villain because he’s a fantastic villain. His unpredictability and hidden motivation and lust for power makes him and interesting character and villain of a certain complexity. I do enjoy his character.

Sydney: I feel so bad for this guy. He loves Regina so much and she just uses him in both Storybrooke and in the enchanted forest. His backstory was pretty heartbreaking

Emma: Is such an amazing protagonist. Her love for Henry and the way she trys to push away her fears to be there for him is great. And the way she’s willing to put his needs before her own is what makes their love true because she loves him in a selfless way. She is such a human character. The regression she has after talking to August about how she has to save everyone makes so much sense.  And the resolve she has to save Henry once she realizes there is something she can do. It also quite interesting to  see the way Emma trusts people this season, it seems to come pretty easily to her with the way, she trusted both August and Sydney and even Mr. Gold pretty quickly. Though she has her wall and her upbringing didnt necessarily create a breeding ground for trust, it seems she to  instinctually trust people. These people all turned out to be lying to her in some way which maybe why she’s less inclined to trust in later seasons. Emma and Mary Margaret’s friendship in this season is amazing and definitely has a lot of heart in it. Seeing Emma connect with people is really great which why the episodes with Cinderella and Ruby are heart warming and fantastic. 

Snow and David: The obstacles their relationship had to face in both the past and present and the way they kept on coming together in spite of them was amazing and showed how truely powerful true love really is in that world. There are alot of Snowing moments with in season 1 that parallels later Captain Swan scenes and that ws very interesting to notice.

EastWatch (house stark edition)

Okay so i have a lot of feelings regarding this episode and none of them are good. Though mostly all of them have probably been posted, here are my Stark household related thoughts on EastWatch. To me, whats even more disappointing than whatever the hell was going on with Arya in this episode, was Jon's (lack) of a reaction over hearing that she and Bran are alive. Jon and Arya were the first got relation I fell utterly in love with. Entirely platonic as I believe Arya will always be Jon's little sister. That heartwarming goodbye chapter and the amazing visualisation of it on the show? It was awesome and I loved it.  I dont ship them though, cuz for me they are the literal embodiment of brotp goals. And tbh while my first read i didnt see any romantic vibes (hadn't even known about the outline). But I understand (though will never ship em) the reasons why they are being shipped and would prefer it being endgame compare to jonerys 🙃. So honestly, I pity you jonarya shippers because holy shit, this was horrible for me. I was literally screaming "THATS IT?" It must have been traumatic for you guys. JON WAS CLOSE TO BRAN TOO. NOT AS MUCH AS ARYA BUT PROBABLY ON ROBB LEVEL DAMN IT. If they needed to have a council scene why couldn't they make Jon enter the room clenching the letter, a bit teary eyed saying what he said but also that he *needs* to go back home because Arya and Bran voice slightly breaking off. And we see him struggle to regain his composures for a minute or so. Hell I'll be fine with even a second. Now, I have two opinions of Arya and Sansa's whatever that was. 1) Arya is playing the game alone. This is the version that I honestly believe in because seriously by this point in the books and obvi in the Tv show Sansa has a Littlefinger bullshit detector and you're telling me that Arya, who was in my opinion the more emotionally mature one, and the one with mostly 100% accurate gut instincts (faceless men or not) can't? Yeah no.  I support this theory with what I think was a little smile directed towards Sansa at the end of the hall scene. I watched that scene 4 times, sometimes it looks like a cross between a smirk and a smile but whatever it is, it wasnt negative.  So hear me out, Arya doesn't think Sansa (big girl got skills but remember, Sansa wasn't always a good liar) can do what she wants her to do in order to trap Littlefinger. Which is why she rattled Sansa to make sure that she can get a genuine response from her later during the (fake) confrontation scene that apparently happens out in the open. Something, again, smol bean is too smart to do so. Arya has been alone for a while and hence, probably believes that she has to work alone to protect that pack. Sansa catching up on it or her being genuinely hurt with Arya's acting may cause her to slip. This would lead to Arya actually accepting the fact that she doesn't have to work alone anymore, she isn't a 'lone wolf' anymore and We got ourselves a Stark sister combo takedown. 2) Or that all of the above is my wishful thinking and Arya in this episode just made a 180 degree shift from the ones before. Honestly if this is the case i wouldn't be surprised. They did the same with Sansa at the end of season 4 and well, another day another characterization to throw out the window, am i right or am i right? Okay about Bran. Was i the only one or did Bran sound afraid when he said his only line? Please say yes. Let my boy have some emotions. What else am I missing? Good things? Sansa is doing pretty good. No need to say anything there except you go girl! Tell them how much ya love Jon. (Jonsa 2kforever)  GHOST GOT MENTIONED. *Cries * what else? Oh Stark family looked fine as shit tbh. Jon, Sansa, Arya and Bran in his cameo. Rocking those outfits.  Oh and Not stark related (yet...Gendrya 2kforever)  but Gendry!!! Oh wait this reminds me of the fact that we were robbed of Gendry getting big bro's seal of approval.  Sigh. My gut says that they only brought him back to give him the rickon treatment. 🙃🙃🙃🙃

QUESTION 2. As shown in the comic, Apus has been going on quite a recruiting spree. How do you think Damian will adjust to his new life situation, especially after what happened? How will Damian deal with Damon joining the Demon Council? What do you think the story is with Firosofi and Euripides? Will they adjust to their life there and will the others adjust to them? Will recruiting Draco go smoothly, or will matters be complicated because of Draco’s situation with B.I.T.E.? What do you think is up with Earth suddenly recruiting so many demons and non-humans all at once? Lastly, do you think Amai will learn to do field work, and how might it change her?
