8, 10, and 19 for Carmessa, for that rt ask game :>
I FINALLY GOT AROUND TO DOING EM! :] heheh thank you for asking <3
↓↓↓↓ranting below
What was their Triumph? Do they take pride in it? "Feat of Greatness" This was during her time at the Astra Militarum. As a Primaris Psyker, younger Carmessa was known for her rather reckless combat style, focusing mostly on impactful hits than sustained attacks. I haven't fully fleshed out this scene, but on quick terms: While going through a warp jump alongside her comrades, the Gellar field goes down, and they are overwhelmed by enemy forces. Allowing her team to focus on the other enemies, Carmessa redirected her biomancy to empower herself, and faced off against the leading daemon. When she's found by Victoria, she looks… off. Even for someone coming down from an adrenaline high, her gaze looks too lost, her body twitchy as she's still on edge from the battle. Carmessa then lashes out at her officer, not realizing who it was, and is purposely knocked out with one good hit from Victoria. While this was presented as a thunderous win to the rest of the crew, Carmessa's state was kept under wraps by Victoria. This ends up affecting her in the future though, as she starts being considered dangerous by the others at the Astra Militarum. This only worsens when she becomes a psyker in a position of power, and she eventually goes through a procedure to attach psykana-limiting implants.
How do they feel about becoming a Rogue Trader? How easily do they take to being the head of the von Valancius dynasty? This is something that Carmessa is bitter over, and is reluctant about at first. She went through a similar situation before, her life turning upside down as she took the mantle of her superior. While she was able to adapt, and is now used to a position of higher power, her existence as a psyker gnaws at the back of her mind, and she's already running on fumes from her time at the Astra Militarum. And something she's grown to heavily dislike is other people dumping messes on her lap. She does slowly start making the most out of her position, noticing the true extent of her new influence and opportunities, but she can never bring herself to fully relax and get comfortable with her role. If she stops moving now, she's dead meat.
Which three skills are of the most value to them? As she mostly tries to remain on the backlane, her usual behavior during combat is using her previous combat experience to give orders, point out details to her allies and give properly timed assistance with her biomancy. Carmessa's biomancy manifests in mostly blood and medical knowledge. She's deeply aware of the human body, and this helps her know how to heal others with her powers, and how to make their blood pump faster when the situation demands haste. I like to interpret her "giving an extra turn" as an officer to be a literal call to action, her influence over the warp giving her allies the extra strength for one extra hit, to dash away faster than they are able, keeping an advantage over their enemies.

Ship/Kiss challenge - Heinrix van Calox/Noelle von Valancius
Original post with all options
25. ... as a 'yes'
It's been almost two solar years since Heinrix left the Inquisition: these changes were unusual at first, but after some time he got used to his new role of Master of Whispers. His knowledge and skills helped him to build new working network of agents in the Expanse, he even started working with some shady people who he previously would've never speak with, but they knew their job and knew they owe their lives to Vladaym Tocara (who also owes his life and place to the Rogue Trader).
Lady Noelle von Valancius, the mistress of the Koronus Expanse and the mistress of his heart, was trying her best to serve her subjects and make this part of the galaxy a better place. And it was Heinrix's job to make sure his beloved is safe and no one would disturbe her peace whether she is at meeting with governers of her colonies or travels on her ship. The knowledge of her mutual feelings towards him warmed his heart, her presence next to him made his soul sing, and Heinrix felt she had the same reaction. They were happy, no one could ever take this from them. But Heinrix realised he wanted a little bit more.
Psyker and Lord Captain spent evening in a restaurant on Dargonus (not the fanciest one but cozy enough). It was not something ununual for them - Heinrix liked to spoil his beloved from time to time with no particular reason, and this time was no different, although he had to use all his will to not give in to his commotion knowing what's coming next. Time was late, so they decided to skip a walk and returned to the ship. The two of them were standing in the Lord Captain's quarters in the embrace of each other; Noelle looked into Heinrix's eyes, she touched his cheek and stood on tiptoes to kiss him. There is nothing sweeter and headier for him than her lips . Psyker took her hand in his and starter talking:
"My love, I could've never wished to be that happy as I am with you. You are the only one I desire, the only one I will spend my life with and I still can't expess sufficiently all my feelings to you for there are no words in this world which could've described them. I am yours eternally, body and soul, and this will never change. But there is one solution, one tool which will properly help me to fully show the flame burning in my heart".
Heinrix stood on one knee infront of Noelle and took a small dark red velvet box out of a pocket of his jacket. The woman made one step back, she instantly realised what was going on, her mind and heart were about to explode. Her eyes wide opened, she covered her mouth with her left hand while Heinrix was still holding her trembling right hand. Master of Whisperes opened the box in a center of which a simple yet elegant silver ring decorated with one small red and two sky blue gems was resting on a tiny puffy pillow.
"Lord Captain, Lady Noelle for Valancius, this humble servant standing on his knees right before you wants to ask you a question, - he made a pause trying not to drown into emotions which started overflowing his mind and heart, - Will you be my wife?"
The moment of silence felt like an eternity. Noelle couldn't say a word, her chest was heaving with excited breathing; she almost forgot all the manners and rushed into Heinrix's arms. Lord Captains squeezed her beloved tightly, then she looked into his eyes and pressed her trembling lips to his, her whole body was shaking. Noelle was shocked but in a good way, she felt like she completely forgot how to speak; she looked into Heinrix eyes again and starter to rapidly nod. Heinrix smiled, he breathe out a sigh of relief and started chuckling while holding Noelle in embrace. After a few moments lady von Valancius could at last use her voice, her words flew directly to psyker's ear:
"I will. I will!"

Star Trek: 25th Anniversary (NES)
Original Release: 1992
Developer: Interplay
Publisher: Ultra
Platform: DOS
Tumblr media
While this shares the same name as the MS DOS game, this is not a console port of the 25th Anniversary. This is a completely different game, with its own gameplay, levels and even story. The story is fairly simple: The Enterprise has fallen though gravitational anomaly and ended up in an unknown region of space. They have to find dilithium crystals and make their way back home.
The game starts off pretty terribly. It feels like a shooter and exploring the first area you’ll be shot at by plants and probably killed by tiny worms. Once you figure out the game properly, there’s actually not that much shooting involved at all beyond the first level, instead the game is about exploring, finding items and working out how to use them.
Once you finish the rather tedious first level, you’re given a lot of planets to explore. Most of these are ones you either can’t land on or are just empty worlds, but it still gives the impression of a bigger world – a lot of planets are just bits of rock, after all, only a few planets contain missions that further the game. One of these is a really fun level set on a planet of rogue traders. There’s even a time travel mission where you have to save a planet that was destroyed due to the actions of Dr. McCoy.
While it has a very rough start, this surprisingly becomes quite enjoyable.

Warhammer 40k: Wrath & Glory RP #10
Start of a new adventure! Unfortunately we were a player short so we couldn’t really properly kick this thing off, but also, luckily due to some plot revelations last time, there’s new personal stuff and even some NPCs introduced. So there’s some personal stuff and then people start heading for the planet Pavis 8M2, also known as Orchard Mountain. Shall we?
We start with a little flashback to our favorite ex-Inquisitional Acolyte’s past.
Gimlet, a bookkeeper has been taken to the field by Inquisitor Tanner who he works under.
Also with them are acolytes / field agents Inpax and Invigilia.
They are hunting for a rogue psyker by the name of Serafina, who they have a reason to believe is hiding in the village of Limestow.
Tanner gives instructions to find Serafina to his acolytes, leaving Inpax in charge, so off they go.
Apparently Gimlet has been taken here because he is possibly from this place, so Inpax asks him to show the way.
They go visit a tavern of sorts and meet an elderly woman named Tina Fey, who denies ever seeing a psyker, until Inpax threatens her, and she says a strange woman went to the miller’s house.
Tina also asks Gimlet if she’s met him before as he seems familiar, but Inpax cuts that conversation short.
Before the miller’s house they visit one more house where they meet a young woman named Amelia and her son Ivan Jr.
She mentions that people in Limestow are pretty suspicious of Inquisitor’s folk as last time they visited some people who probably shouldn’t have died, died.
The miller’s house’s door is locked and bolted, so Inpax shoots through it.
Invigilia rounds the corner to see if someone is trying to escape.
The miller’s house is empty, but Gimlet points out that someone has recently escaped through the window. Inpax pursues this person (turns out to be the miller) and shoots him down.
Gimlet spots the psyker trying to make an escape through the gathering crowd of villagers.
All the acolytes give pursuit, but Invigilia trips Inpax up.
Inpax berates the villagers for letting the psyker escape.
Tanner calls Inpax and informs her that the psyker is dead and that the village will be burned down.
Inpax tries to argue, a bit, but there’s no arguing with Tanner, so she orders Gimlet to get out of there while she does the deed.
Secretly she lets the children of the village flee.
The rest burn or get shot down while escaping.
The trio meets up outside the village with Tanner who tells them that he is a bit disappointed, but glad that the psyker was got in the end.
He also reminisces about picking up Gimlet here some years ago.
Gimlet is quite green in the face and tries to take some space but Tanner warns him not to turn his back on him, and orders everyone back to ship.
Last time Saef’s player wasn’t present, so we do some minor catch-up with him.
For one unlike Gorm and Gimlet, he warned the AdMechs of the coming Inquisitor, explaining why Vivek had time to get away before the Inquisitor came.
He searches for information on servitors from Kuru’s memories and finds out that Vivek was just about half-way to servitor’ing before Eden got to him.
Saef also stays behind to talk with Eden about repairing Theo.
Eden asks how well he knew Theo, and when Saef admits that he didn’t know well at all, Eden suggests he find someone who did.
Apparently restoring a person is easier when you have some kind of a clue what kind of a person they used to be.
But restoring is quite possible, provided Eden gets a chance (and his arms back).
Eden also tells Saef to ask Vivek about servitors and Theo again, if they meet, as Eden suspects he might have some more clue about Theo.
He also gives an override code for the servitor that returns him to a resting state, as he suspects it might be more comfortable for him.
The talk is also of Felis Catus, Eden’s cat. Eden gives instructions to pick her up from his new base where she should be.
Gorm’s call to Fenris is fleshed out.
He calls a Longfang named Hjalmar and asks for permission to claim a servitor for the Space Wolves as he has some information relating to Snorri’s case.
Hjalmar is cool with it, although he reminds Gorm that despite owning a servitor he should still clean his own armor.
Hjalmar will have to see who’s the highest ranking officer he can get to sign the permission slip.
Gorm also asks for more mead and some acolyte weapons because he is ”bored” (ie needs to get some training weapons for Layla secretly).
At some point Gimlet comes to visit Saef.
He wants to talk about what happened with Snorri and Gorm back on the planet.
He says what Saef did was very brave and he’s very proud of him. Saef says thanks.
After Gimlet Gorm comes to visit Saef.
He wants to talk about what happened with Snorri back on the planet.
He says he’s disappointed in Saef and warns him not to get in between Gorm and dangerous people again.
Gorm and Gimlet accompany Saef to go pick up Felis Catus although both of them don’t have great memories about the cat in question.
In the building they find somewhat nervous Skitarius Ranger, who turns out to be named Iiris and a Sicarian Ruststalker by the name of Demir who is trying to grab Felis Catus with not much results.
Saef asks him to step aside so he can show how it’s done. It takes a while, but with patience Felis Catus comes to investigate and lets Saef pick her up.
She even lets Gimlet pat her a bit.
Our heroes decide to chat with the two AdMechs while they’re there.
Demir turns out to be the one technically in charge, what with their commander, sergeant and corporal all gone.
He’s not very happy about it.
Saef asks for Demir’s number in case he needs to contact him about the cat, Gimlet also volunteers to get his number.
In the end everyone gets his and Iiris’ numbers.
Doing a bit of mental math makes our heroes realize Demir is most likely one of the people who, like the sergeant, carries the Life Eater Virus.
This realization causes some discomfort into the situation, prompting Gorm to ask if he’s contagious.
It takes a bit for Demir to realize what they’re talking about. He’s not contagious, for the record, and doesn’t like to talk about the situation.
With the cat in tow, our heroes head to Pavis 8M2, colloquially known as Orchard Mountain.
Upon Cayenne’s instruction our heroes teleport down to the village of Orange Grove.
The area is mountainous and has some snow, which prompts much joy from Gorm who immediately starts a snowball fight.
Gimlet tries to step in between Saef and the projectiles, but since that doesn’t seem to be working, he goes to take a look around.
Almost immediately Gimlet finds a man in black and ivory Space Marine armor, eating an apple and investigating some leaflets.
He introduces himself as Sergeant Revan Adil of Sable Swords and offers Gimlet an apple.
He asks what Gimlet’s business is on this planet, and he more or less says he’s a tourist.
Revan says it’s probably best not to linger on this planet, as there might be trouble on the horizon, though he’s not keen on elaborating for civilians.
Gimlet points out Gorm to him.
Upon noticing there’s another Space Marine present, Gorm immediately stops the playing around in snow and comes to greet Revan.
Turns out there’s some Sable Swords and some Triplex Phall AdMechs on the planet, and the worry is that the whole system might be in for some Tyranid-trouble if not taken care of.
Gorm asks for Revan’s number so they can keep each other updated on the situation.
While Revan is typing in his number to Gorm’s ancient phone, a squad of AdMechs arrive, led by a tech-priest who introduces himself as Z47r.
Revan leaves with him.
Gimlet gives his apple to Saef.
Our heroes have some time, so each do some clue hunting.
Gorm spots a boy of maybe five years planting something in a garden, and goes to ask him if he’s seen any Wolves.
No wolves, says the boy, named Navi Jr., but an AdMech came by to ask about Wolves and immediately fled upon seeing the other AdMechs.
He was a short guy who smelled strongly of cigarettes.
Navi Jr. asks if he should tell someone about the AdMech, but Gorm says it’s enough he told Gorm.
Gimlet spots a map of the area.
Apparently there’s a pilgrim’s path going up the mountain that they will also take, and it goes through the ruins of a village named Limestow, the name being crossed out on the map.
Gimlet finds an old couple to talk to, named Helga and George. He wants to ask about Limestow.
George doesn’t remember about Limestow but Helga reminds him that his sister Tina died when the place was burned, which devastates George.
Gimlet asks if anyone from Limestow is still alive, and Helga says her eyesight isn’t good enough to recognize Limestow folk, but apparently Pomegranate Blossom, a local rogue trader might know.
She lives in an estate near Limestow.
Saef finds himself a local ganger, also dressed in a leather jacket and camo-pants, and asks if she knows anything what’s up at Dew Mountain, the neighboring planet, and Saef’s home planet.
Revan telling our heroes that Dew Mountain might also be in some trouble kinda worries him, so some current news might be of use.
The news he gets don’t seem to be anything good though, the gangs on Dew Mountain have been disappearing one by one, ending up dead, as servitors or just plain missing, like someone is trying to systematically eradicate the gangs of the planet.
Why Dew Mountain specifically and why now, the ganger can’t say, but she warns Saef to stay out of the planet.
Saef wishes her well and to take care.
Our heroes meet up at town square and sorta share what they found out.
Gorm says he knows Vivek is on the planet, which probably means Uffe is too.
Gimlet merely says he wishes to stop by a ruined town on their way up towards Pomegranate Estate.
Saef says nothing.
And that’s all for today folks! Next time some pilgrim’s path traveling and maybe reaching Pomegranate Estate.

So I was going for something here as part of that fanfic I’ve been working for, but I’ve hit a writers block and can’t go on. I’m switching to something else and scrapping this. Also it’s too OOC.
///
“Can we play smash?”
“But Zelda’s a classic!”
“I’m almost done with the tutorial level, and the total lack of immersion is still distracting.”
“Well…”
“Well then don’t pay attention to the story. Just… find something else to focus on. The beauty of these games is their multiple assets offer a vast multitude of appealing characteristics- you just need to find the one that resonates with you.”
<Something about Kitten complaining about the unrealism, namely the bit where you torch the cobwebs in the tree, and trees should not have open flames inside of them and it really should be a lantern, and if lanterns don’t exist in this world yet they need to have darkness>
He grinned at you. “Ah, but if we didn’t have torches, how would we have made lightbulbs? Sentient species can’t just skip to the next technological wonder without exploring what they already have.”
You knew your forbidden xeno histories better than that. “Yes they can.”
“Okay, they can, but not without outside help. Besides which, once you get to a certain level, you start creating technologies that either haven’t been thoroughly examined or everything about them has been forgotten. From there, it falls to the great minds of the people to progress their own understanding of the galaxy and its workings.”
“And here I thought humanity had become too ‘mindless’ to make any significant accomplishments.”
“Well, the species itself can. If they do it right.” “While the Imperium may be rotting faster than a Bubonic Axe wound, that doesn’t mean humanity itself is. There’s a reason defections keep happening, and I’m not just talking about chaos cultists. Rogue Traders, Gue- er, pirates, and the like keep getting new recruits because there will always be people too smart, too aware to be fooled by the indoctrinations of Father’s cult. Humans and who choose to go against the system so they can strive to reach their full potential, because they realize that instead of saving humanity, the Imperium is holding mankind back.”
There was something to that. Something very pleasing about the argument that your species had intrinsic worth. Still, you couldn’t help but feel there was something off about the statement. Magnus’ idea that if properly managed the life of an individual human could have worth even without being strong enough to tip the galactic scales.
You decided the doubt was probably paranoia on your end. You yourself embraced the value of humanity, you knew that each innocent soul had a right to be protected and loved simply for existing. It wasn’t a popular concept in your world, but it fit perfectly into your heart.
“It’s still a sentient tree with open flames constantly lit inside his body.”
“Do you want to play the game or not?”
“I’m just saying, this is breaking my immersion.”
“It’s going to be a little bit unrealistic yes, but that’s the point of fantasy. You’re supposed to enter a fantastic world, pretending to be someone else, accomplishing nigh-impossible tasks with limitless ease.”
“Y’know, I’m pretty sure you or I could’ve gotten past those cobwebs without needing to jump from balconies.”
“Look, either keep playing or give me the controller.”
“Wait, wait wait, let me get ‘in-character.’”
“Oh for pity’s sake…”
“So, villain. We meet at last. You, who have tormented the father of my people. Well, no more! Today your reign of terror ends, monster! Come, feel the power of my steel, as I show you the might of the Kokiri sword! For today you die by my blade!”
“…Happy now?”
“Surprisingly, yes.”
“Well, good for you. … You’re not attacking it.”
“I’m waiting for it to come to me.”
“Oookay, then let me save you time and hearts by telling you that this boss is much easier to fight if you don’t let it come down from the ceiling. You can just to shoot it in the eye with your slingshot first to knock it down, then when it’s on the ground you can kill it by stabbing it in the giant yellow eye.”
“No.”
“What do you mean ‘no?’”
“I said I was going to kill it with my sword, and so I will. Sword only.”
“I’m telling you, that’s pointless. This thing was designed to teach new players the long-ranged combat system, you’re putting yourself at unnecessary risk if you try to kill it using only melee.”
“WATCH ME!”
“You’re being irrational! Honor is no excuse for deliberately employing poor tactics.”
“Yeah, but it’s more fun this way. I think I’ve found the aspect of the game that resonates with me.”
“Which is?”
“Watching you squirm.”
“…Let’s do something else.”
“But I wanna plaaaay!”
“Give me that controller.”
“Nope!”
“Look, just- here.”
“Hey!” And then Kitten jumped the controller in Magnus’ telepathic grip, which brought him in Magnus’ general direction. Hence falling over each other.
How the fuck do I get them jumping over each other? Two options are Magnus gets fed up and tries to physically grab controller (only works if Kitten keeps being a troll and teasing him), or Kitten manages something amazing and the two freak out (which is more fun, but extremely unrealistic with OoT’s first dungeon).
“Erm.” With Magnus’ natural disposition it was hard to tell when and if he was blushing. “I’ll just… hey, do you want some popcorn?”
“Uh… I can’t really eat and hold the controller.”
“Well… … since this is a one-player game, at least one of us will be having his hands free for a bit. Why don’t I go make some snacks?”
