We're now up to a whopping EIGHT batches (sets? groups? clutches? battalions? idk) of frog eggs in the pond.
#Over Hartside#at least I think it's eight#it might be seven#hard to tell#while trying to determine the correct name for a bunch of frog eggs#I came across the wikipedia entry for a dreadful-sounding thing#called 'frogeye salad' which is some mormon potluck nightmare#I grew up in SLC but had never heard of this before#maybe they used to keep it a secret from non-mormons?#anyhow it's itty bitty pasta (the ostensible frog eyes)#whipped topping (presumably someting like cool whip) and egg yolks#if you're lucky (?) there may also be fruit (pineapple and/or mandarin oranges) and marshmallows#not sure whether that makes it better or worse#some people are also hucking instant vanilla pudding in there#I'm guessing that's an attempt to dodge the grody egg-yolk situation#apparently there are regional variants of this thing all over Utah & Idaho#a fact we know only due to the tireless efforts of LDS-pot-luck epidemiologists#many images & recipes online for this poser's-tapioca sludge if you are curious
