Ok like I know Craig wanted out of being bond and I'm totally fine with that being the end of bond, with new 007, etc. (Tho who knows what Amazon will do now)

But. I don't think that James bond needed to actually die to let the 'character' die and let Craig leave the films. Nanobots can be coded or otherwise killed, bc they are robots/technology, an EMP should be able to shut down the ones in Bond's bloodstream, they could have him survive *somehow* the same way he always manages to, like make it seem like he dies, and then show him in the roomnwith the team toasting to him, and have Q say it's done, it'll work, and then show bond with his wife and daughter somewhere happy together, and he just like. Looks like a totally different person bc he's legally dead or whatever. And then he literally never has to do another bond film. And then at least if Amazon brings the character back to life at least it won't be completely out of left field and confusing and stupid like ah yes bond is alive magically but we aren't going to mention his wife or baby at all or his supposed death or anything at all. Like. Whatever.

#finally watched No Time to Die #and look its just.. originally iirc james bond was as much a code name as 007 was. or at least after the first guy left the role they didnt #necessarily see All iterations of bond as the same one dude. bc that would be impossible unless hes immortal and unaging at least #while yeah theres some stuff with one james bond who was always called that...idk #like they could have craig!bond have survived and Actually retire for real #like retire the name. pick up a name he hasnt used since he was recruited by mi6 or whatever #he gets to like. be a dad and thats it. hes a dad who is a little jumpy but his hair is a different color and he goes by his real name and #his wife and kiddo have diff last name at least #and they live happily ever after the end. srsly.#but i guess by killing him off if amazon wants to ressurect the character they do have to acknowledge the name bond is a code name too and #at least whatshername and the kiddo get to live happily ever after more or less bc amazon will forget abt them. which is good thats fine.#just...he never got to actually be happy for any length of time and that is upsetting #idk #and idk. i think its just sad to kill off a character as the only way to not have the actor have to return again
