Any Muscat fans here? Today I am going to talk about this variety but in a slightly different way then the dry still white usually you can get from Alsace and other regions. Moscato d'Asti is an underrated treasure of Piedmont, Italy. A sweet sparkling wine which has seen only one fermentation and has a very low alcohol content. We have gone through the whole winemaking process in the IG Live with Vinchio Vaglio @vinchiovaglio ,check it out for more information! Now I would like to share the tasting notes. It has a pale lemon color and a medium viscosity with slight effervescence in the glass. The nose is very floral with orange blossom flower, acacia, elderflower, honeysuckle complimented with citrus fruits, grpaes and some apricots. It is a pleasantly sweet wine with medium plus acidity, low alcohol and a medium plus body. The palate show flavours of elderflower, honey, lemon, grapes with a long finish. A very good quality which best to drink while it's young and chilled to 6-8°C. Have it as an aperitif, next to creamy pasta dishes and creamy cheeses. It is the perfect choice for a wide range of sweets thanks to its bubbles and sweetness, specially with heavily creamy desserts. Which type of Muscat or Moscato is your favourite? Today I have started my countdown as in exactly 2 weeks I am getting married! And for that occasion I would like to share with you one of the wine we are going to sip on the party! A Czech wine from the southern Moravian region with a cross between Riesling and Madeleine Royale, Müller Thurgau. Produced by Mladé Vinarství which means "Young Winery" founded in 2010 and now owned and managed by my dear friend and ex-collegue, Filip @zapulsta . When I have tasted this wine, I was looking for a nice, sweet, enjoyable one and I think I made the right decision! A light golden yellow color on the wine with medium minus viscosity. Apricots, yellow apples, pear, orange, elderflower, honey and a touch of butteriness with vanilla notes on the nose. As I said, a sweet wine but with a very fresh, high acidity, medium alcohol, creamy texture with medium plus body. I detect flavours of honey, vanilla, orangepeel, peaches and elderflower with a medium plus lenght. A very good quality wine which best to drink within 3-5 years while it's young on 8-10°C. I would pair with all sorts of cheeses, a nice Austrian apfelstrudel with vanilla sauce or drink it as an aperitif. Tokaj has a special place in my heart and palate but I have only shown you Aszú wines so far. Today we will get to know another specialty from the region, called Szamorodni. It's a Polish word meaning "as it comes" referring the winemaking method. For Szamorodni, all grapes are harvested from ripe to noble rotted and fermented then aged together resulting a complex, beautiful wine.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That can be either dry or sweet, depending on the style the winemaker wants to achieve. This is a dry Szamorodni from the Angyal winery made in the 2018 vintage. As you can imagine, it has a high alcohol content of 14,5% and made from the Furmint variety.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you want to know more about Furmint and the region of Tokaj, check my articles about them in my blog!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This Szamorodni has a medium deep golden color with a medium plus viscosity. Intense nose of ripe peaches, pear, golden apple, orange peel, white pepper and ginger.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Complex wine with medium plus acidity, well-integrated alcohol, medium plus body with flavours of peach, quince, pear, honeysuckle, apple and orange with a long finish.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Good quality wine that can be consumed in the next 5-8 years easily when it is chilled to 8-10°C. Today we are travelling✈ back to France🇫🇷 and Bordeaux but not with a big bold red wine 🍷blend rather a super elegant sweet white from Sauternes. It is my favourite Chateau in this appellation so I am happy that I can showcase their second wine 🍷to you in the movement #collectif21 .I have already tasted 👄the first wine Chateau Rayne Vigneu 2013 during my time in London🇬🇧 but the Madame de Rayne was my first time☝️. . . This is the 2013 vintage🍇 which contains 80% Semillon🍇 and 20% Sauvignon blanc🍇. As you can already used to it, for more information ℹ about the winery, check out my stories 🔝and highlights🔝, I can't wait to share the tasting notes ✍here with You! . . You can imagine that this delicious sweet wine🍷 has a medium deep golden🌟 color with high consistency 💧due to the sugar level in the wine🍷. On the 👃 we can smell golden apples🍎, peaches🍑, pear🍐, pineapple🍍, honeysuckle, ginger, raisins and honey 🍯with hints of walnuts🌰 and vanilla. . . On the 👅 the wine is sweet with high acidity, medium plus alcohol (13.5%) and intense flavours of honey🍯, ginger, lemon🍋, walnut🌰, pineapple🍍, vanilla and pear🍐 in the long lingering finish. . . It is a very good quality👌 wine which you can already drink now 📈 but I would personally cellar it for at least another decade if not two. Best served when it is chilled 🧊 to 8-10°C. . .
