#why does every comversation feel like diffusing a bomb. is nothing easy. is nothing easy??!

one of the shittiest things about having a difficult childhood is that it makes conversations very awkward to navigate, because a lot of very common socializing topics revolve around childhood experiences and favourite childhood thing and hobbies, but you obviously can't respond with "well i wasn't allowed to have anything positive in my life!" to the poor person just wanting to start some small talk with you, they don't deserve to have that awkwardly dropped on them, so instead you just give very generic polite answers but that only works for a short while because at some point if ALL your answers are brief and generic, the other person assumes you're uninterested in the conversation or that you don't like them and don't wanna talk to them 😔 and socializing is very difficult to navigate TO BEGIN WITH regardless of childhood
