One thing led to another, and suddenly Corinne and Whynx were fighting in the bathroom.

Things got so bad between them during the party that they even became enemies!

I get why Corinne might make enemies so easily, she's not always the most likeable Sim, but what did Whynx ever do to anyone?

"I think I better go," she said to Jess afterward, trying not to cry... and failing miserably. "Thanks for having me..."

Karax usually prepared meals for the family, but Whynx decided to take over tonight to let her husband have a bit of time for himself.

She appreciated how much work it was to take care of a toddler all day and figured he deserved it.

Besides, cuisine was her one true hobby. She didn't mind cooking one bit!

Whynx was off to work as a newly promoted elementary school teacher, and the kids followed in the school bus about an hour later.

It wasn't truly morning in the Galaxa house unless all of the non-toddler members of the family were sitting together having a nice breakfast.

Today they were having bacon, eggs and toast.

"I hope everyone will have a good time at work or at school today," Karax said.

"You too, dad," Lux grinned.

"I can't wait for the weekend," Rixian sighed.

With Aliz back in her crib and the older kids still sleeping, Karax and Whynx were able to have a quiet breakfast together.

"Can you believe we're about to be the parents of a teenager? I feel like we're not nearly old enough for that," Whynx said with a little laugh.

"A teenager, a child and a newborn," Karax chuckled. "We've definitely got our work cut out."

Whynx took a bite. "Oh, by the way," she said after a moment. "We need to figure out what we're gonna buy for Lux. A teen birthday is pretty big, we should get her a nice present."

The two began to brainstorm ideas while they finished eating.

"And then do you remember—"

"Oh my Watcher! The look on their faces! I was mortified—!"

Nadine really didn't mean to eavesdrop... Oh wait, that was a lie, she totally did. As she shamelessly listened to Karax and Whynx talking over drinks at the bar, the saloon owner couldn't help but feel a little resentful.

How could the two nerdy aliens have a more interesting woohoo life than her? She really thought owning the local saloon would help her meet a lot of potential love interests, but practically every man her age was now coupled up.

It sucked!

Jess really wanted to dance, so she cranked up the music and grabbed Mateo by the hands, pulling him onto the makeshift dance floor in the middle of the living room.

Unfortunately, Corinne just didn't seem that into it.

"This is so dumb," she said, looking awkwardly from Whynx to Jess. "We don't even know each other!"

Poor Whynx! The rejection really stung.

Corinne and Whynx were the only guests to show up out of the 5 or 6 that were invited. Jess really needed to work on maintaining her friendships.

"Thanks for coming," Jess said to her best friend and former roommate. "I really need someone to talk to right now. Things are kind of plum."

"Yeah, of course," Corinne said. "You know I'm here for you! Come on, let's go inside. The desert gets chilly at night, even in the summer."

Meanwhile, Whynx was mostly just there for the free food.

Apparently Whynx was still very angry at Corinne for what she said the other day at Jessica's party, and the fistfight that followed.

Rixian came home an hour later right after his mom's carpool. His grades were pretty average, but that didn't mean his parents weren't extremely proud of him too.

"Hey mom!" he said cheerfully.

"Hi sweetie, how was school?" Whynx replied.

"Great!" he started running for the house. "I'm gonna go play now, I'm so bored!"

"Welcome everyone! I'm glad so many of you could make it," Jamar began, smiling at the crowd of Sims in front of him. "This won't take long. I know we've all got a big party to get ready for..."

"Aw yeah!" Boone cheered, quickly followed by laughter and, in Noah's case, an eyeroll.

"So first thing's first, I'd like to say it's been a joy to be your mayor for the last decade, and I hope you'll have me for the next one. We've accomplished so much, but most importantly we've helped keep our Sixamese refugees safe. That was the main goal when we decided to stay here and found Plumwell."

"Now, I have a special announcement to make. To celebrate 10 years, the town hall will be giving out three grants worth 1000 simoleons each."

The crowd clapped, cheered and whispered excitedly.

Jamar gestured to quiet them before continuing. "I'd like to grant Mateo Guzman with the first so that he can grow his business further and continue to create. Secondly, I'd like to award Whynx Galaxa with a grant to help keep our children curious. Last but not least, Corinne Edwards gets the final grant to fund her new business and help the town prosper even more."

"Thank you," Jamar concluded. "And remember, there's a party at my place tonight! You're all invited!"

To celebrate, Whynx decided to cook a delicious homemade meal.

"I didn't expect it one bit," she was telling her husband while she stirred. "All because I spoke up in a meeting! I was so close to just keeping my mouth shut. It would've been easier... but I felt the kids deserved better."

"I'm proud of you," Karax smiled. Shy as he was, he definitely wouldn't have spoken up in front of a big group.

"I can't wait to go back tomorrow. I have so many plans!" Whynx beamed. "What about you? How was your morning?"

"Aliz learned how to walk," Karax replied.

"Really?! Already?!" Whynx looked at him, wide-eyed. "Wow!"

Aliz wasn't the only one achieving goals in the Galaxa household today. Whynx came home early with some very unexpected news.

She was promoted!

"You're looking at the new elementary school teacher of Plumwell!" she exclaimed proudly.

The best part was having over 1,000 simoleons in the household funds again. She got a pretty sizeable bonus! Her hard work and dedication to the kids was paying off!

Aliz woke up screaming, and it didn't take Whynx very long to figure out why.

"Oh... dear Watcher," she said, trying not to breathe. "I think someone needs her diaper changed."

The toddler continued to scream and wiggle, clearly very upset with her current situation.

"Hang on, I've got you," Whynx assured her.

It was still way too early in the morning. The sun wasn't even up, but Aliz demanded breakfast, and Whynx was pretty hungry too.

"You feed the baby, I'll feed us," she said to her husband. "How do you feel about cereal?"

"Yeah, sounds good to me," he replied.

Meanwhile, Lux and Rixian were still fast asleep and showed no sign of getting up any time soon.

"So, how was everyone's afternoon?" Whynx asked.

"It was fine," Rixian shrugged.

"I finished my homework and did a few woodworking projects," Lux answered cheerfully. "I made almost 200 simoleons selling them!"

"That's really great! I'm glad you've been enjoying your birthday gift so much," Karax said.

"You should put away some of your profits into a bank account, save up for when you age up," Whynx suggested.

"What, you want me to move out? You wanna get rid of me?" Lux grinned, obviously joking.
