i would like to imagine that after machete dies, vasco starts collecting red things. red, like the soles of machetes shoes and the hems of his cassocks, the front of his nightgowns after a heavy nosebleed. or maybe he collects pink things, like machete's nose and ears and paw pads, or things white like his fur. he never collects anything black, however. red like the hems but never black like the fabric. black is too sad. it's grief, it's unfathomable loss and it means admitting machete is actually gone, stolen from the world. but ludovica is there, and she indulges his collections in little ways on the occasion. it's a small comfort, her love for her husband in their lavender way.

Okay, so what if you propose to Solomon before he gets the chance to propose to you? Like obviously, he'd been thinking long and hard about what kind of ring to pick out, where to do it, what to say, yadda yadda... But then while you're *ahem* supervising him in the kitchen one evening, you get down on one knee and propose to him instead.

Poor guy did not see it coming, at all. Initially, he thought you fell or hurt yourself, so he scrambled around to check on you only to see you smiling up at him with the biggest heart eyes. With a gentle flourish of magic, you make the box appear in your hand before opening it to offer him the ring inside.

He can hardly believe it. Him? You want to propose to him? And you beat him to it? He's both impressed and deeply honored. Your little magic stunt made him proud as your teacher while also making the already special moment a million times more so.

Solomon's not one to get emotional. The only time he's ever cried to you was when you and the rest of Purgatory Hall tricked him with that overpowered onion...but this is different. He feels safe to cry as you spout to him a beautiful, heartfelt speech - feeling every letter being etched into his heart and every syllable committed to memory.

He falls to his knees, reaching out to hold you while whispering as many shaky "yeses" as he can muster through his sobs. He can't stop repeating himself like a broken record, beyond excited for this next step in your relationship, touched that you want to keep him as yours.

Once he's calmed down enough through your hushes, kisses, and gentle touches, you pull back to take his hand into yours. Slowly and carefully, you slip the ring onto his finger.

Solomon just stares at it with his heart in his throat, noticing how it shines in the light, how it fits him perfectly (both aesthetically and in size), and how it feels right occupying what he always assumed would be an empty finger. You've given him the gift of hope and the gift of love in the time he's known you. And here you are giving him even more...your life.

And in return, he's gladly and readily giving you his.

I’d say he’s more the type of kid to sneak the puppy into his room without telling anyone and cough loudly at the dinner table to cover the sounds of the barking. And the puppy would probably be a pigeon, he loves those things. Mordecai’s hatred for them only makes them all the more forbidden fruit.

i've discovered a bunch of my fabric (probably enough to make a few bags, yeah) but i'm also going to try and use it ALLLLL up and make a variety of things like oven mitts, kitchen aprons and cushion covers in order to get rid of as much of the fabric as possible. i'm hoping to really... move forward, and i've grown a little teeny bit tired of my old prints.

also i had to cancel my website (got too expensive and my father in law was paying for it and i felt bad the money going to waste almost all of 2024 so far while my attention has been everywhere but sewing) however i HAVE decided to open an etsy store. i have heard how unfriendly it can be to sellers wrg to taking a large chunk out of your earnings, but i guess i'm just looking for something less intense than a full custom website at this time.

soooo be on the lookout for that! should be happening after august.

it's set post-s3 and canon divergent, where steve's quiet spot is at lover's lake and there's a mysterious creature living in the lake... 😈

The quiet spot that was currently being ruined by a bunch of basketball players with hero complexes. Just as Steve was wishing they’d leave soon so he wouldn’t have to talk to them, an aggressive splash came from nearby, sending droplets of water across Steve’s bare chest. Too big of a splash for a fish, surely. “What the hell…?” Steve muttered to himself, sitting up and leaning over the edge of the boat. The glare of the setting sun made him squint as he looked at the unusually choppy surface of the water. A strange kind of ripple was headed toward his—technically Rick’s—boat, and what kind of creature would make ripples like that? Steve’s frown deepened as he tried to look into the black depths, peering further over the edge of the boat.  Steve heard the loud thwack against the side of the boat before tumbling face-first into the water. When he’d watched Jaws some years ago, he wondered what it would have been like to have a boat smacked around by a huge shark that wanted to eat him, and now he figured it felt just like this. Fear seized him as the chilly water surrounded his body, because what the hell was in this lake that was big enough to push him overboard? Sharks didn’t live in lakes—at least to his knowledge—so he could rule that out for now. It took him a few moments to orient himself, to work out which way was up, before he started moving himself toward the surface. As his arms pushed through the water, he could have sworn he felt something soft wrap around his hand and then fall away. Some kind of plant? He thought briefly. But it didn’t have the slimy quality he expected from lake plants. He didn’t spend much time thinking about it, as he finally broke through the surface of the water, taking a huge inhale.

When did you know you were nonbinary? I have a 5 year old who was AMAB who is both a girl and a boy. I’ve always known I was a woman and haven’t thought about it until my kid started discussing it.

Sorry to make you wait for an answer, anon, but I wanted to give this the respect it deserves, and I've been pretty busy the past few days...

It's hard for me to put a timeline on my experience of gender. I came out around 17 years old, but I'd learned the word nonbinary when I was about 15. I'd been questioning my gender since about 12, but I could tell I wasn't quite a boy (at least, not all the time), so I hadn't talked to anyone about it. But if we go back before that? I remember the first time a stranger referred to me as a lady when asking their own much younger child to give me more space in like, and it felt violently wrong in my skin. I remember when I was 9 and started hitting puberty, and was told I had to start wearing bras, and how much I hated what was happening to my body. I remember being younger than that, and always feeling weird about being put on the "girls team" at school

It took me a long time to have the language yo describe what I was feeling, but the feelings themselves were always there, you know? Just as you knew you were a girl, and then a woman, I always knew I wasn't. I just didn't have the words to explain what I actually was.

I think it's fantastic that you're listening to your child when they tell you who they are, and I think its beautiful that you're reaching out to people so you can better understand. Being open minded and caring like that is something very few of us got from our own parents, and I'm so, so glad that you're clearly doing leagues better than they did. With love in your heart and a willingness to do some research, you'll be just fine 🩷
