when someone has it drilled in their head from childhood that they are a black sheep and an island and cannot trust anyone in the family other than their sibling and parents, that no one else will truly be there for them or love them as they deserve to be loved, trying to be the first one in the family to break through that and love them well and be someone they can trust is an uphill and thankless battle but it's worth it because i love them and i know they love me. I feel like when uplifting a member of the Golden Trio, sometimes people will actively downplay the others strengths. With Harry specifically, people will praise his intuitiveness and cleverness, but will insult Hermione’s intelligence to try to make it even more of a feat than it already is. With Hermione, people will praise her intelligence and then downplay Ron and Harry’s intelligence.

I find this mostly annoying, but also counterproductive, each character is incredibly valuable on their own and downplaying another is just not necessary, ESPECIALLY since all members of the Golden Trio are needed, they’re stronger together than they are apart, and it’s irritating to see the others being diminished for no real reason.

What one member lacks, the other makes up.

Will never stop thinking about how Leo, all alone in an endless void and being beaten again and again and again by the only other living thing around, still finds comfort in that space. The situation he was in was completely hopeless, and in any other circumstances he would not have escaped, at least not fast enough to save him from permanent (or even fatal) damage, be it physical or mental.

And yet, despite the bleakness of his situation, despite the agony and helplessness, all he needs is one glance at a crumbled photograph, one glance to remember his family, and that’s enough of a reason for him to smile.

Maybe that’s why his powers center around manipulating space - because no matter how much space is between them, no matter how dire his own situation may be, just the thought of his family, alive and okay, is enough to give Leo hope.
