“We could always kill him,” Sten said frankly, sounding annoyed by the fact that they hadn’t already done that. “He is weakened and unaware, better than what he deserves,”

    “No, Sten, for the last time we are not killing him,” Stephan said, keeping his voice stern to hide how uneasy he felt with the whole conversation. The assassin had been after Alistair, so really he supposed Alistair had the final call on whether or not to let him live. However the Prince seemed to be of the same opinion as Stephan, they weren’t going to kill him, but neither of them were quite sure what to do with him beyond tying him up and locking him in a room.

    Suddenly Alistair jumped out of his chair from across the room. “They’re back! The group from Denerim is back!” The two humans looked at each other in excitement, perhaps there was finally some news about the state of Ferelden’s politics. Something they both had been kept from in this dire time. They both almost rushed out of the room together before they realized that they weren’t sure if they should leave Sten alone with the would-be assassin still locked in the next room. Stephan unsubtly grabbed the key, as if the lock would actually stop the giant, and the two men headed for the courtyard. Sten just remained in place, staring impassively at the door to the room where they left the would-be assassin.

    They caught up to the group in the main hall, already being received by Bann Teagan. The Bann had been extremely grateful to the Wardens for helping to clear Redcliffe of the undead, and currently letting them stay in the castle as they searched for some sort of cure. If they had any leads on something to cure his brother, any leads at all, Bann Teagan would want to hear them. Unfortunately, as Alistair and Stephan arrived, it was to a very disappointed Teagan. Wordlessly, they looked to Tamlen to explain.

    “Nothing but dead ends and a lying assistant. We couldn’t outright confront him considering we were trying to stay low and a slight lack of proof. We did find the name of a place Genitivi might have gone to, Haven, but it's all the way in the Frostbacks,” Tamlen said, shrugging. Alistair nodded in understanding, and heard Bann Teagan mention something about seeing to arrangements for dinner that night, and planned to go with him. However, Alistair paused when he saw that the group had grown by one in number. He admitted to himself that there were quite a few wardens in their group now, and that he doesn’t quite know everyone yet, but he certainly doesn’t remember the elf now standing next to Mahariel.

    “Who’s he?” Alistair asked, instantly cautious considering not even hours prior he had an assassin at his throat. Tamlen and Han’rel look at each other, confused for a moment and then both made noises of understanding.

    “This is Daolin Tabris, our newest conscript!” Han’rel said, walking over to him and throwing an arm around his shoulder. The elf named Daolin clearly isn’t excited by the gesture, barely even welcoming of it, but tolerated it as he bristled under the Prince’s stare. Alistair is sure that Daolin can tell that there are things being unsaid, that his status as a “conscript” is still under review. Especially, Alistair knows, because those who recruited him are barely beyond the newly recruited status themselves.

    Han’rel took his arm back and came closer to speak to Alistair and Stephan more directly. “I may not have a full and clear idea of how your cities are run, but they were going to kill him for exacting justice!” he exclaimed, his tattooed face pulled into a large scowl, worrying the two humans greatly.

    “What Han’rel means is that the son of the Arl was a despicable piece of shit, who deserved what he got, but the human authorities didn’t seem to see it that way,” Tamlen further explained, causing the two human’s eyes to widen further. Daolin, at this point, had started to pull away from the group unnoticed as Stephan and Alistair’s attention was solely focused on Tamlen now at his words.

    “What happened?” Stephan managed to grit out through his clenched jaw. They had sent that group to Denerim based on the fact that they were all sneaky, or knew how to not attract the wrong sort of attention. Clearly, they were going to have to reassess that statement after this.

    “Well, Daolin was about to get married, and Tamlen and I, being random bystanders, got invited to the celebration! However, the ceremony got interrupted by the Arl’s son and his friends who were a very nasty sort. They knocked out Daolin and then kidnapped the bride and all the other women with her!” Han’rel began to explain. Alistair could barely keep up with the story and it had just started.

    “So you went to the guards and told them what happened and they took care of the Arl’s son?” Stephan asked carefully, praying to Andraste that the two would have done the sensible thing for once.

    “No,” Tamlen said, crushing all of Stephan’s hopes, “We waited for Daolin to wake up, and offered to go with him to save the women of course. One of his clan helped us get into the estate where we then found where they had locked up the women,” He continued, oblivious to Stephan and Alistair’s growing distress.

    “And then you went to the city guard and told them what happened and what you found and they took care of the Arl’s son?” Stephan asked, his tone growing a bit higher in pitch.

    “Of course not, we slaughtered them all and took the women back home to their families! Daolin didn’t end up getting married after all, considering we hadn’t been back for all of an hour before the guard finally showed up asking questions and demanding to arrest someone. So, that was when we conscripted him! After that we really didn’t want to hang around, especially because Genitivi’s assistant was useless, and headed back here.” Han’rel finished, all the while extremely proud of himself. Stephan’s face was at least two shades lighter, and Alistair’s jaw fully dropped. The two stunned humans couldn’t even begin to take apart how many missteps the elves made and they just ended up looking at each other, lost and unsure where to even start.

    Leliana and Ghrena walked over from where they had left their horses with the stable boys and were holding back laughter from seeing the men’s faces. The “conscript” had stepped behind the newcomers and was distancing himself from the group. Leliana patted Stephan on the shoulder and tried to comfort him.

    “Sadly, Ghrena and I were attending Chantry services on what we thought would be a very quiet day, and weren’t around for this. Considering what they had to work with they did very well. There was no actual proof to tie any of them to the death, just that people knew that the Arl’s son had been by the alienage earlier in the day and that was why the guards assumed it was an elf,” she explained, defending the two Dalish. Alistair shook himself out of his stupor and finally came back to himself.

    “The Grey Wardens are enemies of the crown! Declared by Loghain himself, how did you get the guards to just accept that you were conscripting him and let you leave? By all rights they should have tried to slay you where you stood!” Alistair sputtered.

    “By all rights?” Han’rel asked, his tone light but the look in his eyes had suddenly darkened.

    “No, you’re right, they would have had no right to do that, I’m sorry for saying that Han’rel. I just mean that they should be under orders to not have let you out, and I don’t understand why they did,” Alistair clarified.

    “That would probably be because of the bribe the Keeper handed them,” Tamlen explained, Han’rel nodding beside him.

    “You bribed a city guard?!” Stephan grit out, almost distraught at the news of the easy corruption in Denerim.

    “To be fair, the guards in Orzammar probably would have done the same in this sort of a situation,” Ghrena said, thinking back to how much trouble she would have gotten in if not for Bhelen’s well timed bribes. Out of the corner of her eye she noticed the stable boys walking past the group, but didn’t notice Tabris fading in and sneaking away from the Wardens and the two noblemen.

    “That doesn’t make it any better! I can’t believe we were going to ask you all about what to do with the Crow,” Alistair said, rubbing his forehead in frustration.

    “A crow? How’d it fly in anyway? There are quite a few doors here. Wouldn’t it make sense to just lead it back outside?” Han’rel asked, not understanding.

    “No, he means an assassin, specifically one from Antiva, very specialized,” Stephan explained, already used to certain things needing to be explained.

    “An assassin! Why didn’t you start with that! That’s way more interesting than what we did in Denerim. I’d assume you’d just do whatever it is you do with dead people up here. I mean, there’s no returning to the Stone on the surface like this,” Ghrena said, feeling slightly jealous that they got to deal with an assassin while they just talked to a slimy assistant.

    “He’s not dead, we just knocked him out and tied him up,” Stephan clarified.

    “What?!” Ghrena said, sounding somewhat excited by the prospect of being able to fight the assassin herself.

    “Wait, where did Daolin go?” Tamlen said, finally speaking after noticing that their group had gotten smaller. They could only look around and at each other in confusion before finally realizing that they had lost track of the new “conscript”.

    “What a professional and capable group we are, hmm?” Stephan said, rolling his eyes at the now, once again, chattering group.

Prashar Lake- A Trek for non- Trekkers

About Prashar Lake-

The hypnotic beauty all around, in the lap of incredible mountains there lies a lake with astonishing history. It is named after a Sage Prashar who used to meditate there and built a temple next to it.

There is an island drifting in the lake. The water and land ratio of the lake is said to be the same as the earth has in between of water and land. Isn’t it amazing? What's more, you will feel enchanted with all the tales attached to this place. The island in the lake keeps moving, it's actually gliding in the lake. Intriguing fact is that no one has ever been able to discover the depth of Prashar Lake. 

Next to it is an ancient temple which is said to be built by a 6 month old infant. Yes you heard me crystal clear, it was built by an infant till he reached the age of 18 years post which he vanished and was never found again.

Journey-

My friend and I, were two girls who planned this trip. All things considered, I majored planning the trip as planning excites me. There were a few choices to reach there yet we picked Volvo which was an overnight journey. We took the transport from ISBT- Delhi and got down at Mandi from where we took a cab till Bagi Village. We could have selected a flight to Kullu however the reality was low funds and a shoestring budget was the real criteria of my trip planning.

From Bagi, Prashar Lake is approx. 10 kms. We could have picked a taxi or bus till there, yet we needed to experience the adventure of the trek because it’s in the midst of the jungle. We wanted to experience the local feel so we returned via local bus, which took the adventure to the next level. One feels petrified when the bus needs to reverse every time it takes a turn on the hilly roads. However, the experience of the driver gave us some comfort and feeling of safety.

 Key Points-

Most cost effective way to travel is Volvo bus- an over night journey.   

From Mandi, take a cab till Bagi. Do specify Bagi from where Prashar Trek starts as there are 2 separate villages by the name- Bagi. 

Stay-

The planning of the stay was exciting, filled with ups & down, excitement & anxiety. After all the research I did for places to stay at Prashar, I found the easiest way without taking much headache is camping. We booked through a travel agent way in advance. But you know, just a week prior to our departure, the agent informed me that the government has banned camping in the fencing area which protects the Lake area from wild animals. Though we felt helpless and demotivated at that moment as I had already booked bus tickets, but sometimes blessings comes in disguise.

I felt that the cancellation of camping was the best thing that happened because had we gone with the travelling group we wouldn’t have explored Prashar Lake the way we did now. Again the search started and after a couple of days I was finally able to book the PWD guest house. It has only four rooms and is about 1 km away from lake but was better option from the dharamshala which is just next to the lake.

 Key Points-

PWD guest house which needs to be pre booked. You can connect Tel: 01905 222151. One may also book other guesthouse via Forest Department.  

There is a Dharmshala adjacent to Prashar Lake. Please note washroom is common there.

 Trek Log-

We started the trek early morning from Bagi. It is a bumpy path, all sort of stones in the way and the river gives proper serene picture what one can expect out of a hill station.

There were around 3 small food outlets or what we call as Dhaba where we had breakfast. The owner suggested that we pack some food for the trek as no other shop or outlet would be available till Prashar. He also warned us that we might get lost in the jungle as there is no specified path like other treks but we dared to start of our own and took his contact number, you know, just in case. So the instruction we had from him is that just move straight within the jungle no right no left and reach till you get to a plain area. Post that we needed to follow “bijli ka khamba” as in electricity poles. Once we reach the last pole that would be Prashar and exactly that’s where Prashar was.

After the exploratory trek with all the scary sounds, breeze and uphill path we reached there after 5 hrs because I am not the hard core trekker. I love the idea of being a trekker but I am not exactly one.

Magnificent view it was, exactly the landscape painting one would wish to copy on canvas and there stands our guesthouse all alone looking like a haunted house. We got our room and explored Prashar Lake which was around 1 Km away from the guesthouse. By the way, all the interesting stories related to Prashar were told to me by the local guesthouse keeper. Quite an amazing storyteller he was and a hard core believer of all the unbelievable stories he told us.

 Key Points-

One can pick a cab or local bus till Lake in the event you don’t wish to trek.

Do carry snacks before beginning the trek at bagi, no other alternative for snacking in the middle.

Momos are a must at the dhaba in bagi.

We visited in March, the weather was quite chilly.  Better to visit in Sep to Nov as you will get more greenery.

This trek will cost you less than 10 k if you are travelling from north India. 

Route- Take a right when river path is over- Straight within the jungle till you reach the plain area- Follow the Bijli ka khamba post that- No further Bijli ka khamba you have reached Prashar Lake.

🆘 FINAL HOURS 🆘 NEW VIDEO 10/6 7 a.m. Due to Cowboy’s behavior in his kennel & with staff, his time is up. It appears he was dumped by his former owner that he trusted. He needed a committed rescue by 7 am Wed. Oct 6th & now loses his life w/o warning. HE NEEDS A RESCUE TO ACT IMMEDIATELY PLEASE! His only hope is pledges for training & a willing trainer+rescue. He desperately needs help to trust people & needs experienced trainer/rescue. 🥺 SHELTER PLEA: Cowboy #A512262, male, approx. 2 yrs old, Rhodesian Ridgeback/Rottweiler mix. He’s very handsome but extremely reactive to people & a very big boy. When he was arrived, I asked the person bringing him in if he was nice? He told me he didn’t know, he had just found him. I walked toward Cowboy who told me in no uncertain terms was he going to go easy. The gentleman walked Cowboy over to the kennel, then lifted him in. As Cowboy lifted his lip to me, I looked at the gentleman with what was obviously a look he understood. Ya… pants on fire🔥 Cowboy has been extremely reactive to staff. He was good with the gentleman who claimed to have not known Cowboy prior but, if I were to stick my hand into his kennel, my new name would be “Nubs”. With that being said, I actually think he’s starting to like me. He’s not lunging at me when I walk in, he takes his treats without trying to take my hand. He loves trying to catch them in the air, at 1st, that was the only way I would give them to him. Unless I’m right up against the kennel bars, he’s not reactive to me anymore, so I do think he is “kennel reactive”… He needs someone who knows what they are doing. We are not able to train or work with pets with behavioral issues like this. He may be a sweetheart outside of the kennel & off of a leash… that just isn’t something we can or are trained to do. We cannot take him out of his kennel, we cannot pet him, with the exception of giving him treats, we cannot interact with him at all. He’s been here over a month & it’s painful to see him in his kennel, day after day, knowing that is it for him. Please help Cowboy! There & Back Again - A Tourist’s Tale

Townsville to Tanawha in Seven Days - The Adventure Continues

Well hello there (you good looking reader you). This week’s episode consists of our jaunt back down the coast of Queensland (after our grand Magnetic Island exploits). 

I believe we left off arriving in Townsville, which proved to be (unexpectedly) chalk full of good things. Our hotel’s oceanfront location proved to be a perfect base to explore “The Strand” It’s a beautiful esplanade boasting a multitude of parks, gardens, restaurants/pubs and shops (all along the water). And, the BEST Indian Food restaurant EVER. Delish!

Townsville also happens to be home to The Reef HQ - The Great Barrier Reef Aquarium. So, of course, we had to go check that out. I admit that having the glass between us allowed me to really  appreciate critters without being scared silly!

We checked out several very cool lectures in the theatre space (it was like being on a school field trip!) and managed to snag an invite to the Turtle Hospital, where we had the sincere honour of meeting some of the patients.

I gotta tell you, it was an experience I won’t soon forget. Seeing sea turtles up close, and learning about the horrible adversities these poor little guys face... Look, nature itself is hard enough on these guys, but man... Between ingesting our plastic crap (causing them to float and slowly starve) and our boat propeller’s cracking their shells (literally breaking their spines)... I felt guilty being a human being standing next to them! It was an eye opener for me. *Incidentally, Australia is banning the use of disposable plastic bags in grocery stores as of July.  We bought a water bottle and canvas bag from the Turtle Hospital too.  Perhaps the little steps will make a difference - here’s hoping!

So, that was our one day there. It was great. Finis. Then we started the looonnnnngg journey back down South - which we broke into 2 nights. First stop, Mackay.

 I gotta say, it didn’t knock my socks off (they barely lost their elasticity really). Now, in fairness, we arrived on a Sunday. And most of these towns hearken to the days gone by (Everything is CLOSED on Sundays) so it was a bit of an eerie ghost town. We wandered around for hours, waiting for a handful of restaurants to open for dinner. This turned into a bit of a fun game as we waltzed about all alone, like we owned the place, looking for anything interesting really! Seek and ye shall find!

Seriously, take a good look at some of those street view pics. Not another soul! CUE THE TUMBLEWEED! And then you look up and there’s a bazillion cameras..... For the crazy crowds??? (I hope they got my good side. Pretty sure if I have one, they caught it! lol)

We wound up hitting up the local theatre to watch the latest Avenger’s movie. And the answer to your questions are YES and YES. Yes, going to the movies is just as stupid expensive here as at home and Yes, they have a a whack of commercials prior to the movie too. It’s an epidemic! LOL

*Highly recommend the Avengers movie, btw. Plot is holier than Swiss Cheese but it’s an exciting, comedic and visually stunning ride.

So we said good bye Mackay and hit the road <Jack>. Next stop, the mining town of Gladstone. It had a cute little downtown core - BUT most everything was CLOSED... AGAIN <sigh>. Managed to find an open restaurant, ate a nice dinner & retired to the Motel (yes, I said MOTEL) Mmm hmmm, kickin it hardcore on a Monday night. All in all, it was fine. Hey, even the cockroach I discovered on the curtain in our room was friendly enough! 

 Good bye Gladstone!

Needless to say, we were ready to hit the road bright n’ squirrely for the final leg of our highway trip - Destination: Mount Coolum for a few days (please oh please, for the love of all things Holy, let it NOT be a ghost town!)

Okay now, remember how I mentioned that this highway was this long, desolate, life sucking thing that went on forever with nothing for 100′s of kilometers? Does that sound like a good place to run out of gas to you? Hmmm? 

This is where I so regret NOT taking a picture to punctuate the whole story. But, I just couldn’t do it! I felt taking a picture, while barely containing our laughter, would have been rude. I’ll try and keep this short (promise). In a nutshell:

- I didn’t get gas when I should of. Sue me!

- The dreaded ‘yellow’ you-got-no-more-gas-soon warning sign is now alight, causing John to lean over and look at it EVERY 5 SECONDS and remind me that we really need gas, and we probably should’ve filled up ‘back there’ (ya think????)

- We ask ‘the Google’ to find the nearest gas station and followed it’s direction down a road not fit for man nor beast (this is the part in the movie where someone dies... surely!) *I should mention that the next gas station shows as approx 70 kms away!

- As John is rattling off the merits of the town we’re about to come upon “It has a race track!”, we roll onto the main street. One. Dusty. Uninhabited. Street. Where any store that may have existed 1000 years ago is now something out of a museum exhibit. 

- The Google says we have now arrived at our destination. Imagine it. There’s a dilapidated HOUSE with a sun-faded sign on the side of it that looks like it may have said “GAS” at one time.. but now all you see is a faded “AS” (you have no idea how hard it is for me not to add that extra ‘S’!)

- So we keep going (there must be more down here, right?) and come to a dead end. That was it. We look at each other, say an expletive or two and turn around. “Might have to start knocking on doors and testing out that ‘Aussie Hospitality!”. Hmm... let’s take one more pass. Maybe we missed something?

- We take another pass, and bowl me over with a feather if there is not a single antique looking gas pump (on the frickin’ SIDEWALK!) in front of that old house (I cannot make this stuff up!) I don’t know how we missed it the first time?! So we park beside it. What have we got to lose, right????

- The price on the gas pump is $1.47/litre - today’s pricing... the door to the house is OPEN. What the what now?  Could it be true?? *If this is some sort of cruel joke by the locals looking for some fun - watching tourists try and get blood from a stone, I’m gonna be PISSED!

- I pick up the nozzle, it resets... ready to rock. EUREKA! We’re saved! I proceed into the ramshackle house, to pay, and am greeted by a friendly shopkeeper who runs the ‘store’. Oh yes, there’s one 2-litre jug of milk AND a single loaf of bread in the fridge for sale. AND there’s a cafe menu - fish n’ chips are on special, dontcha know! (OMG, I can’t even imagine how long that fish has been there!!!)

- I pay and we get set to leave. John and I just keep looking at each other like we may be sharing a hallucination. “The pump is on the sidewalk” John keeps mumbling. Should we have taken a picture? YES! Sorry. You’re just gonna have to trust me on this one... it was an experience!

Full of gas (of suspect age and origin) we eventually made it to Mt. Coolum - a beautiful National Park just minutes from the beach. The AirBnB space and our hosts were AMAZING!

Our hosts were so sweet, leaving us chalkboard notes every day:

We got to settle in and enjoy the best of all worlds again. The backyard of the house WAS the National Park and we were able to literally hike the mountain from there. It was a hell of a hike (think Grouse Grind) but well worth it!

Spent some time at Coolum Beach as well and did some body boarding. It was a great place to spend John’s birthday too :)

From Coolum we also drove the nearby town of Eumundi to check out their famous Market. It was huge! Must have taken up 6 square blocks and took us hours to navigate. *How much is a parking ticket in Eumundi? Oooh, I know this one! It’s $63 AUD. Yes it is :(

We had fun (despite the ticket) and found some cool items and lots of local artwork everywhere

And also went back to Noosa Heads (which is hard to photograph well - sorry!

All in all, our three nights in Coolum were lovely. Great food, beach, people, hiking... and it was such a nice surprise to find a little gift bag, on the hood of our car, upon our departure. How nice is this?

 Then it was off to Tanawha (again). We had stayed at a beautiful rainforest B&B at the beginning of our journey (which seems like a lifetime ago!) and both John and I had been sad to leave so soon. We’d really ‘clicked’ with our hosts Liz & Steve and frankly, it’s like a 5 star resort. It’s true!. I can hear that guy from Jurassic Park saying, “We spared no expense”. So we booked an encore with them for the next 4 nights to relax and explore the Hinterlands more.  (We’ve heard the drive/scenery is to die for). Upon our arrival in Tanawha, we were greeted with MORE GIFTS!

I don’t know if I can fit those paper flowers in my suitcase :( 

So, we’re now in the rain forest enjoying our hosts and getting ready to do MORE exploring of this beautiful country. I have actually unpacked (for the 1st time this whole trip! LOL) and am planning to milk these last few days to the last drop. It sounds like a fairytale, I know. So, I’ll admit, it’s not always this amazing feeling. There have been mornings when I really didn’t want to do anything. I’m in (what I consider paradise) and I feel BLEH. It’s happened. On more than one occasion. I miss my family. My friends. My cats. But I then remind myself that I better take advantage of opportunities (actually, I say ‘Pull your head out of your ass, it’s not a hat!’) and life goes on. Ces’t la vie :)

 Warnings and Cautions in Using the Long life rechargeable lithium battery  

 To prevent a possibility of the battery from leaking, heating or explosion please observe the following precautions:

● When using a new battery for the first time or after long term storage, please use the battery charger specifically for that purpose fully charge the battery before use. 

● Do not disassemble or open, crush, bend or deform, puncture, or shred;

● Do not modify or remanufacture, attempt to insert foreign objects into the battery, immerse or expose to water or other liquids such as water, seawater, drinks such as soft drinks, juices, coffee or others, or expose to fire, explosion, or other hazard.

● Do not short circuit a battery or allow metallic or conductive objects to contact the battery terminals. 

● Avoid dropping the phone or battery. If the phone or battery is dropped, especially on a hard surface, and the user suspects damage, take it to a service center for inspection.

● The battery replacement shall be done only by either cells supplier or device supplier and never be done by the user. 

● Replace the battery only with another battery that has been qualified with the system per standard. Use of an unqualified battery may present a risk of fire, explosion, leakage, or other hazard. 

● Don't keep a battery at rest for a long time (over 6 months). Safety accident may happen when recharging battery which has a rest for a long time.

● In the event of a battery leak, do not allow the liquid to come in contact with the skin or eyes. If contact has been made, wash the affected area with large amounts of water and seek medical advice. 

● Battery usage by children should be supervised. Seek medical advice immediately if a battery has been swallowed

● Never disassemble cells. The disassembling may generate internal short circuit in the cell, which may cause firing or other problems. 

● Never incinerate nor dispose the cells in fire. These may cause firing of the cells, which is very dangerous and is prohibited.

● Do not remove the outer sleeve from a battery pack nor cut into its housing. 

● Do not mix our batteries with other battery brands or batteries of a different chemistry such as alkaline and zinc carbon. 

● Do not mix new batteries in use with semi-used batteries, over-discharge may occur. 

● Promptly dispose of used batteries in accordance with local regulations.

 The cells might be damaged during shipping by shock. If any abnormal features of the cells are found such as deformation of the cell package, smelling of an electrolyte, an electrolyte leakage and others, the cells shall never be used any more. STORY TIME:

Darius’ real name is Loki Loptrson. He was created by Loki (specifically my muse, LokaTattur, a.k.a. LiefullyLoki) and in some ways or another he /is/ Loki.

Darius started out solely as a thought in Loki’s mind. By this, I mean he was the dark voice in LokaTattur’s mind. We all have a dark side, we all have that little voice or conscious half that knows it’s wrong but won’t stop you from thinking of doing an evil deed. It’s your own will power that prevents you from acting out on your dark thoughts.

Darius is those dark thoughts, that whim you never let yourself take. In this particular case, he’s that for LokaTattur, or as he once was called “Liefully.” (My original Loki blog was LiefullyLoki, Darius came later and his original blog was DalieIsInYourCloset.)

My precious Liefully had once been so beaten and tortured by Thanos for a bargain he never made (his identity was mistaken since there are so many Lokis out there), that he didn’t nearly die, he truly did die. He was fortunate that another Loki, AsgardianOutcast, cared enough about him that he wasn’t willing to let Liefully stay dead. He bargained with Hel to free Liefully.

Ever since that time, Liefully was never the same again. He got PTSD, he got it really bad. Asgardian was there for him, though. And while Liefully changed into this new person, Asgardian loved him and protected him all the same.

One fateful week, Asgardian had to return to his own universe (because every Loki lives in an alternate reality) and was gone for a week because he had to go to war with another realm (he was king of Asgard). Liefully would’ve been fine spending that week alone.

The problem came in the form of Thanos.

Thanos returned to Earth to find Liefully, he started threatening those Liefully cared about to tell him where Loki is. This caused Liefully to completely snap. And Darius stepped in the place of this broken god and wielded control over Liefully’s form. Liefully was so out of sorts, he allowed his dark thoughts to manifest, become stronger, and become violent. His logic was if he could push away everyone he loved, they’d be safe from harm. They were only in danger because Loki cared about them. So he let Darius, who was only just the dark thoughts in his head at the time, take over and be as vicious and violent as he wanted all in an effort to push them away, to deter them.

Asgardian came back, and it was good that he did. He was able to snap Liefully out of it, where no one else, not even Loki’s brother, could.

But Darius didn’t want to go away. He didn’t want to recede. He had a taste of life and he wanted more. Since he knew everything there was to know about his mind-sharer, he used that to press all of Liefully’s buttons, the ones that would make him break, make him snap, so that Darius could get control again.

It wasn’t working. Asgardian was there and he was watching over Liefully carefully. Darius was soon only able to communicate with others when Liefully chose to rest. He then encountered another Loki, TheWickedLoki, who gave him a deal. Wicked would give Darius the body he wanted and Darius would do what Wicked wanted.

Darius took this deal. So, soon after, he was born to his very own body from the use of magic and the blood and hair of Loki (Wicked and yet another Loki’s hair/blood sample).

Fully grown, Darius had all of Liefully’s memories and no idea how to feel. The memories were like movies to Darius. He could see them, hear them, but he could not feel them, not smell them, not taste them. Liefully’s memories were, for the most part, useless to Darius.

However, he used a lot of them to be able to articulate, to be able to construe things, like knowing fire burns without having to feel it. This led to one factors of Darius’ fearlessness. He knew things that he didn’t have to experience. He because a highly rational thinker, disabling the needs or natural inclination for all emotions.

Darius originally had no emotions. But as time went on, he gained life experiences that he couldn’t get from Liefully’s memories. He learned what pain felt like, he learned what meat tasted like, so on and so forth. Over time, he learned many of the things we learn in our infancy and childhood.

While Darius is indeed a grown male, he is also much like a child, still learning a lot of things. His curiosity leads him to do strange things. As the once-thought of Liefully’s dark side, Darius has carried out many of the cruel acts that Liefully would think of but never dare do. So Darius’ dark inclination is because of his origins. And his behavior is due to his lack of experience in so much that we take for granted. Of course, he’s also just a big douche-bagel who loves pissing everyone off or freaking everyone out.

Darius’ weaknesses are very hard to see when one speaks with and interacts with him, but he too suffers greatly from the split. He longs for the solitude he was immensely used to. Being in his own body, Darius has learned much to his dismay that he cannot turn away from his physical senses and signals and sometimes these olfactory senses drive him mad. The silence, darkness, and solitude of Loki’s mind was an experience Darius had taken far for granted and has never been able to regain as a result of the split. Granted, he has learned to live with his olfactory senses, he stills longs for that peace of the mind.

Darius was also severely desensitized to everything because he carried with him a copy of all of Loki’s memories and knowledge when he gained his own corporeal form. He has the knowledge to know the cause and effects of so many things yet he doesn’t have the feelings (physical or emotional) that are tied to the knowledge he has. One example of this is: You know that cutting your hand means it will bleed. For Darius, he has this knowledge. But before he was given his own body, he didn’t know the sensations that were tied to this. Thus, he was mentally ready for a cut of the hand and the sensations caused by the action didn’t train him to avoid being cut. Instead, when Darius experiences a cut of the hand, he registers the tingling sensations of the nerves telling him of pain, he feels his hand getting hot as blood rushes to the spot, he feels the way the cut skin reacts to any flexing movements done to it. Instead of having every desire to avoid it, these feelings make him curious. He already knows the consequences of a cut, but he doesn’t necessarily know the sensations tied to them.

So, in short, Darius doesn’t function like Loki at all. He might have Loki’s blood, Loki’s memories, and Loki’s knowledge of magic, potions, and spells, but he’s not Loki. He’s only part of Loki. Both he and Loki are parts of one another, yet they act as separate wholes.

Common Misconceptions About Darius:

Emotions (this one is long): A lot of people are very used to a character that possesses emotions, even if they’re hidden/masked. For Loki, most expect him to be angry when he brings pain to others, even if he’s clearly laughing maniacally as he does it. Your instinct is to assume he has some kind of negative emotions burrowing deep within that cause him to do what he does. Everyone has the instinct that behind every action and saying, there’s some emotion driving it. Darius wasn’t born like a normal individual. He didn’t have a childhood. He didn’t develop a brain like we do. Darius was born in the mind of another, completely devoid of feeling emotions toward what he could hear and see and having the wisdom and comprehension of one who has already learned the rewards and consequences of their actions. He was designed to function without emotional bias. After he was kind of transplanted from one mind to his own body to control, this is when Darius began developing his own olfactory senses. He’s still learning a lot! But for the most part, his mental state was developed before he obtained a physical form, so he processes everything very differently from others!!! We know not to do certain things because of their consequences, like sticking your hand in a fire burns and hurts. For Darius, he knows full well the consequences for his actions, but instead of fearing getting hurt, he finds it a mind-boggling function of the physical form and tries to understand it by doing that which most would learn not to do when they were young. He’s not biased by emotional responses because he has not developed emotions enough to have emotional responses. So he doesn’t feel afraid to get hurt, he doesn’t have any phobias and worries about one thing or another because he didn’t develop like a child would. Despite being incredibly intelligent and calculating, there’s a whole lot he doesn’t know, a whole lot that he didn’t have the benefits of a childhood to develop so while he is most certainly a full-grown adult, he is also a child about many things, emotions being one of them. He has himself psyched out to think he can’t feel and when you have never felt emotions before, it’s very hard to identify them within yourself. Every emotion he learns is heavily tied to the physical indicators of that emotional response. And since he has a lifetime stuffed in his head that’s completely devoid of the emotional context of each memory (we’re talking about Loki’s memories, not Darius’ memories), he’s come to expect that level of emotional magnitude, which is no feelings. To him, a lot of things are like watching a film. He can see what’s happening and hear what’s happening, but he has no emotional context for those things so what he sees doesn’t inspire emotional responses. So to put things simply, Darius is almost completely lacking in emotions. He’s learning them slowly, but for now, he hasn’t felt the full emotional spectrum.

Getting angry: A lot of people are very used to being able to piss someone off by calling them names or drudging up unfavorable memories for that individual or even physically poking and prodding them until they burst with rage. Well, that stuff doesn’t work on Darius. Being one that lacks the ability to feel irrationally emotional over things, calling him names are either interpreted as “Duh” or “That’s weird, but okay.” You can totally call him a blueberry or a smurf, he isn’t going to get mad. His thought process works this way: “Oh, I see what you’re doing there. You’re calling me a blueberry because my skin’s blue.” And insinuating names that most would find insulting like “retard,” he just sees the misconception of the name. It’d be like calling a cat a dog. The cat doesn’t care what you call it, even if that’s an incorrect identification of the animal. It’s going to continue going about it’s catty business. As far as Darius is concerned, you can call him a horse-fucker (since people sometimes mistake him for Loki who once did the deed with a horse) and all he thinks is “Well, I didn’t fuck a horse, so you’re wrong. That’s on you, not me. -shrug-” Darius has absolutely no emotional response that will drive him to want to contradict someone’s accusation of him. Someone can be like “I bet you can’t do that!” and he’ll respond with “Yeah, I can.” and if they say “Prove it!” He’d just be like “Why? I don’t care if you believe me or not. That doesn’t change the fact that I can do what I said I can do.” It’s another misconception that he feels grumpy. He might act and sound grumpy, but he’s rarely in this negative end of the spectrum.

Murderer’s gonna do what a murderer’s gonna do: A lot of people think “Oh shit, Darius is a murderer, he’s a psychopath, he’s sadistic. Fuck, my muse is doomed.” Nope, that’s not quite so. Sure there’ll be times where Darius will blatantly hurt your muse, but he gets a lot of fun from picking them apart psychologically. He loves to try to figure out what makes people tick. So you can expect him entering in conversations with muses and be several replies in without having made any actual life-threatening actions or threats toward your muse’s life. He may be a murderer but murdering takes energy and sometimes he just doesn’t feel like murdering, sometimes he just wants to talk. I’m not saying that’s a good thing! Sometimes he uses conversation to learn of someone’s weaknesses and insecurities so he can use that against them later. He’s a man without a plan, but he acts like someone who knows exactly what he’s doing. He’s strange like that. Besides, one of his most popularly repeated sayings is “Dead things are no fun.” He gets a lot more enjoyment in ‘experimenting’ on others. He loves to test the boundaries and

My muse is going to annoy the fuck out of him: This is really similar to getting angry, being that it’s nearly impossible to annoy Darius. All the usual tactics one can employ to annoy someone don’t really work on Darius. You can’t talk his ear off, he’ll listen patiently. You can’t insult him, he wouldn’t care. You can’t drudge up bad memories, he doesn’t have them. You can pull pranks on him and he’ll usually respond in the most anti-climactic way. A most commonly referred to example is the time an Anon decided to dunk hot salsa all over him. He didn’t get mad, he was more like “Really? What a waste of salsa.” No “WHY DID YOU DO THAT, YOU LITTLE BITCH, IMMA WRONG YOUR NECK.” It was just “Darn, I just took a shower too. Guess I have to go take another one now…” That’s not to say it’s impossible to annoy him. The ways in which Darius functions.

Reverse Psychology: It generally doesn’t work on him. You’ll never know if saying “Leave me alone” will make him want to stay and continue causing trouble for your muse or if he’ll be like “Okay, bye.” Likely, if he knows what your muse wants, he makes the conscious choice of whether or not he wants to give it to them. It’s going to be a 50/50 chance. If your muse tries to psyche him out by stating something to the opposite of what they want him to follow through with, chances are he’ll follow through with that thing the muse told him to do. This is really complicated and I can’t give any solid examples as to what I mean. It’s a little like Princess Bride, that scene where Westley and the balding guy had a duel of witts. Darius is Westley in that case. Your muse will likely lose one way or another.

He’s dark, he’s into the kinky shit: Not necessarily. He gets off on feeling power but he doesn’t exactly get a hard-on if it’s clear your muse is in pain. He likes knowing he’s in control and hates not being in control. He’s not a Dom, he’s an attacker, there’s a huge difference. Mainly being, there’s no such thing as a safe word for him. He’s going to do what satisfies his carnal needs and will probably make little effort to ensure his partner is also enjoying things. This doesn’t mean he’s into hand cuffs, leather, whips, chains, etc. He’s a little less easy to pin than that. It doesn’t mean he’s not open to those things, but usually he’s going to do things his way or he’s going to leave and find someone else to “play” with.

 The cells might be damaged during shipping by shock. If any abnormal features of the cells are found such as deformation of the cell package, smelling of an electrolyte, an electrolyte leakage and others, the cells shall never be used any more. The Cells with a smell of the electrolyte or a leakage shall be placed away from fire to avoid firing.

 Storage  

The cell shall be stored at the environmental condition of -20℃ - 45℃ and 65%±20% RH. The voltage for long time storage shall be 3.6V-3.9V range.
