The Umami BLT Cheeseburger has all the good things about a classic cheeseburger plus the umami-rich flavors of Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce. With crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, juicy tomato, and a zesty special sauce on top, this burger is sure to please!
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 4 hamburger buns. 4 slices of cheddar cheese. 4 slices of bacon, cooked crisp. 1 cup fresh lettuce leaves. 1 large tomato, sliced. 1/4 cup mayonnaise. 2 tablespoons ketchup. 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce. 1 teaspoon soy sauce. 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Warm up the grill over medium-high heat. The ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper should all be mixed together in a bowl. Mix it well, then shape it into 4 burger patties. Put the burger patties on the grill and cook them for four to five minutes on each side, or until they're done the way you like them. Add a slice of cheddar cheese to each patty and let it melt in the last minute of cooking. Before you start cooking the burgers, toast the buns on the grill until they are just barely brown. Put the mayonnaise and ketchup in a small bowl and mix them together to make a new sauce for your burgers. Put the burgers together: On the bottom half of each bun, put a lettuce leaf. Then add a cheesy burger patty, a slice of tomato, and a crisp bacon slice on top. Spread the special sauce on the top half of the buns, then put them on top of the burgers to finish the Umami BLT. Enjoy while hot!

Classic Shepherd's Pie
I’m making my Classic Shepherd’s Pie today which is different from how I grew up eating this dish. I lived in London for a few years in the early 1970s. I’d never had shepherd’s pie, at least not the way my Auntie Joyce made it. She did not put vegetables in her Classic Shepherd’s Pie; she added only a few shredded carrots for sweetness. The meat she used was ground lamb, and the vegetables were…

Worcestershire Sauce’s Secret Ingredient
#Soy is the secret ingredient in #Worcestershiresauce #Worcestersauce
The precise ingredients of Lea and Perrins’ sauce remain a closely guarded secret, the bottle’s labelling being both helpful and vague. It lists malt vinegar, spirit vinegar, molasses, sugar, salt, anchovies, tamarind extract, onions, garlic, and various assorted and unnamed spices and flavourings, but there is no indication of quantities used.  The replacement of walnut pickle and mushroom…

Well that escalated quickly.... I think I would probably cook this in winter and pile it over cheese on toast with some #worcestershiresauce or something. Nice substantial #ComfortFood feeling. I guess that’s why they also call it #Medieval #PeasePottage - basic, plain yet filling. Wonder how it’ll taste 9 days from now? I don’t have the intestinal resilience to risk finding out! #PeasePudding #Food #Cooking #SlowCookerRecipes #Recipes #Supper #Breakfast #ThatsMyFoodSortedForTheNextCoupleDays https://www.instagram.com/p/BxveqlknyXk/?igshid=1l63ubq4c2gh8

A Simple and Flavorful Buffalo Chicken Marinade Recipe
Tumblr media
Buffalo chicken is a classic American favorite, loved by many for its delicious flavor and ease of preparation. A marinade is an essential part of making any Buffalo chicken dish, and this simple and flavorful recipe is sure to please.
Using just a few pantry staples, you can whip up a marinade that will tantalize your taste buds and leave your chicken succulent and juicy. The key ingredients are Frank’s RedHot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and honey. Combined together, they create the perfect balance of flavor and heat that is the hallmark of a great Buffalo chicken dish.
To get started, gather your ingredients and mix them together in a medium-sized bowl. Start by combining 1/3 cup of Frank’s RedHot sauce, 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce, 2 cloves of finely minced garlic, and 2 teaspoons of honey. Give it all a good stir to combine the ingredients.
Once the marinade is ready, pour it over your chicken and mix it in to coat the meat. Cover the bowl and let it sit in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight for the best flavor.
