Ya know, sometimes I’m a total space case. 👽 Totally just forgot to take this #wip off the punty before cycling the kiln last night. 🤦‍♀️ Back into the kiln it goes- I guess I won’t be finishing up the sandblasting on it until tomorrow. On another note- sorry for this gross picture of my hand, but this is something new I’ve been dealing with for several weeks.. the dermatologist I spoke to in texts says it looks like dyshydrotic eczema exacerbated by excessive hand sweating but my actual appointment with him isn’t until September. Basically what I first thought was an initially unnoticed burn blister on my hand (a pretty common occurrence for me) did not heal like a burn but has instead turned into more and more tiny blisters that keep breaking, peeling and reforming over the palm of my left hand (just the left! 🤷‍♀️) It is clearly pretty uncomfortable and seems to get worse every time I work on the torch for a long period 😓. Obviously I’m not going to stop working and sweaty hands comes with the territory. I have been putting rose salve on it which has only seemed to help with the blisters cracking open less often. Sorry to be going on about my gross crusty mitt, but everyone I know with eczema has pretty much had it their whole life and it seems weird to me that this has just popped up out of nowhere on just one spot of my hand, seemingly glassblowing related so I wanted to ask- Any other glassblower out there ever developed or dealt with something like this before?? Anyone got any advice for me other than go see a dermatologist? Hi. This is what I look like when I work on drawing. It's just so intense. I have to be serious every time. I employ special straps that keep my body restrained in the supine drawing position. For hours. I keep a glass of tepid water beside my drawing table to ascertain the divinities of the drawing spirit. When the surface of the water ripples without my knowledge, I see when and where drawing time will fold in on itself. I have to keep my body ripped to carry out the drawing endeavor. I wear this gray drawing shirt to protect my vital organs from the drawing implements. Often an errant pen will flip off, puncturing various flesh nearby. I need to protect myself. Knocked on my wrist while at work months ago & only went for a treatment few wks the knock. Pain reduced a little & so I ignored it and stop treatment. The pain comes on/off till I knocked on it again last Saturday & boomed!
