Writevember 2018 Prompt List
A sort of combination of Inktober and NaNoWriMo, Writevember is a writing challenge that takes place during November. Everyday you write a short story for the daily prompt. Unlike NaNoWriMo, there is no daily word count goal. You can write however little or much you like. The main goal is to help get you in a routine of writing daily. If that does sound like too much, feel free to write every other day, or just for words you have a spark of inspiration for. If you want, you can even make your own prompt list. Write stories for your original characters, your favorite fandom, anything you like! Have fun writing and growing your skills as an author.
So I hope you join me in the first ever Writevember, starting November 1, 2018! I’ll be using the tag #writevember2018 so feel free to use that as well!

As I said, this one’s late but it’s a modified excerpt from a bigger piece I’ve been working on since like June and will probably never finish. It’s a lot of vent, but mostly just high school Choromatsu (yes, more churro) being Stress.
Writevember Day 5 Prompt: School
Word count: 707
Choromatsu didn’t even have the energy to announce himself when he arrived home. The day had been so long and some cursed part of him just wanted to throw himself onto the couch and nap. No way. Not possible.
There was just so much to do; he’s already a chapter behind on reading for history class, and if he doesn’t get started on the book report due next week he’ll end up doing it at the last minute again. Not to mention the study guide he still hadn’t made for the biology test tomorrow. Tomorrow? Was tomorrow Friday already? Make that less than a week for the book report. Almost two history chapters behind. As if Choromatsu’s heart rate wasn’t already unsteady, he felt a rush of panic as he raced to the living room table to work. Why was there never enough time? What had he done with all that time?
School let out at three every day, then he’d be at math team practice until five, then tutored Okamura-kun for an hour on Tuesday and Thursday; Monday Choromatsu had stayed back to chat with his teammates for a while, Wednesday… yesterday? What kept him from starting all of this yesterday? Probably something, but his head started to hurt when he tried to recall it. In the living room, Choromatsu found Ichimatsu and Jyushimatsu at the table as well, practicing English flashcards. “I know this one!” Jyushimatsu shouted in excitement. His face went completely blank for a split second before breaking into a dramatic pose (Choromatsu would swear his eyes were sparkling like an anime magical girl). “Brother” Jyushimatsu answered in an almost flawless imitation of the second eldest, before he broke character and giggled in amusement. Ichimatsu sighed. “You got the answer right, but that’s still so wrong.” he mumbled, glancing up at Choromatsu as he sat down at the other end.
“Choromatsu-niisan’s back!” The fifth brother announced. “Did you have to tutor again today? It’s so late, even Karamatsu-niisan came home before you tonight. Mom was worried you wouldn’t be home for dinner! I would have saved you some!”
“Liar.” Ichimatsu accused, nudging the younger’s arm. “Stay focused, we’re almost done. Choromatsu has his own work to do”
The third brother gave a tired smile, nodding for them to continue. He opened his bag and got out his biology notes and textbook. ... Choromatsu sighed and looked up at the clock. It was nearly midnight and he still didn’t feel ready for the test, let alone done everything else. He was so fucking tired, too tired to keep going. However, he knew if he went up to bed he’d just lay there restlessly worried about schoolwork. Choromatsu leaned forward on the table. Why was school putting so much pressure on him? All of his brothers were upstairs sleeping peacefully, unbothered by the pressure of academia. Were they somehow keeping up better? Were they smarter than him? Or did they just not care? Of course they didn’t care. None of Choromatsu’s brothers had any ambition to succeed. Osomatsu refused to think of the future, Karamatsu wanted to chase his fantasies, and Todomatsu was already working under the table for his friend’s parents. The other two... well, Ichimatsu was probably one of smartest of them, but for whatever reason he refused to put in any effort for his own work. He spent most of his studying time coaching Jyushimatsu. Neither of them had the grades for high education.
Choromatsu liked to believe he would go on to university. Their family couldn’t afford to send all of them, but at the moment the third eldest seemed to be the only brother interested. If he did well enough, he could even earn a scholarship.
Not that Choromatsu has really thought about what he would study - or where, or even why. He just knew that was what people did to succeed in life. It was what he was supposed to do. There would be time to work out the details later. For now, he just needed to work as hard as he could.
With a sigh, Choromatsu pulled himself back upright and stood, stretching a bit. He should go make some tea, it was going to be a long night.

Writevember Day 3: Silence
Writing Prompt | Read on Ao3
A strange train takes Karamatsu on a journey.
The doors shut behind him and with no way to change his mind now, Karamatsu looked around the train. There were rows of seats up against the windows, but there were no other passengers. At least as far as he could see, it was completely empty. Maybe everyone else was riding in one of the other cars?
But he had seen Rin board the train just moments before. Shouldn't she at least be in sight?
The train jerked into motion, the sudden movement making Karamatsu lose his balance and his hands floundered for a railing. He grabbed onto one above him and steadied himself. At least no one was around to see his misstep.
With his balance regained, Karamatsu walked over to a seat, turning to face out the window. Buildings blurred by at a rapid pace, much too quick to really analyze any of them more in depth. Seeing the city rush by filled Karamatsu with a strange emotion. Not something he could articulate into clear thoughts, but a sort of melancholy. The world moved so fast, things he took for granted could be gone in an instant. Gone before he even knew it.
Hmm. Maybe he should write that down. Could be a good basis for a new song. He reached in his pocket for his notebook, but he found nothing but air. Had he forgotten it? He always had it with him! Oh well. It had only been a fleeting thought after all. Nothing of great importance.
A tall building came into view, and for a moment it was black outside the window. The inside of the train car went dark as well, the few lights in the ceiling hardly enough to illuminate the area. Then the bright rays of the sun returned.
Outside the window was a completely different view from before. The city was gone, instead there was a massive field of green. The blue sky contrasted with the verdant fields in a lovely way.
Hmm? There weren't any fields like this near the city. How far out was the train? Where exactly was it going?
Karamatsu continued to look out, trying to wrap his mind around the shift in view. Far off in the distance he saw a white fence of some sort, perhaps belonging to a farm. Occasionally on the horizon there were small forests of trees. Nothing that he could focus on for very long before the train dragged his vision away to a different sight.
That's when Karamatsu realized the most peculiar thing about his journey thus far. There was no noise, only silence. Even the familiar click clack of the train on tracks was absent. When had the complete lack of noise started? Probably from the moment he stepped on the train. For some reason, he was afraid to even speak, to break the silence that had befallen him.
Silence was nice. His house was so noisy most of the time. Something was always making noise. In the mornings there were arguments over who got to use the bathroom first, chatting during breakfast, the background noise of the television. Throughout the day his brothers came and went, slamming doors, humming, even the smallest noises of a pen scratching against paper or the turning of a page in a book. There was always something. Even at night there was soft rustling of movements, snoring, the wind blowing outside. To hear nothing for once was a unique experience and he didn't want to end it.
He almost shattered the silence as the train moved along and the view outside the window changed again. He covered his mouth with a hand before he could gasp out loud. It was just so beautiful.
The field of green had been replaced by flowers. Millions of them, as far as his eyes could see. The colors melded and blended together into a delightful rainbow. If only he had a phone, he wished he could take a picture to show his brothers later. They would never believe in such an amazing sight! Well he would commit it to memory instead, perhaps he could try and draw it out someday instead. Such a wonderful view should be witnessed by everyone!
Karamatsu closed his eyes, trying to write every detail of the field of flowers into his memory. He wasn't sure he could do it justice, in drawing or even trying to describe it to others. Maybe this was a memory that would live on only in his own heart.
Actually, with his eyes now closed, he was feeling drowsy. The silence of the train, accompanied by the soft rocking motion of it moving onward, was comforting. It was very peaceful, and before he knew it, Karamatsu found himself lulled into sleep.
...

Writevember Day 2: Lost
Prompt List | Read on Ao3
Karamatsu happens upon a lost girl
The city was thriving. A bustling mass of people heading off in different directions, everyone walking so quickly, no one paying much attention to anyone around them.
Well except for Karamatsu. He was paying attention. He liked to people watch. Seeing the mannerism of strangers fascinated him. A woman clicking her high heels as she frowned and walked with her head held high. A college kid with bags under their eyes, slouching as they held onto a cup of coffee like a lifeline. A businessman who pulled out his phone, his eyes growing wide and his speed increased. All these little stories were playing out in front of him.
Another story was unfolding before him. A young woman who appeared to be about his age was wandering around the street before him. She looked like a foreigner, blonde hair tied back, freckles across her pale skin, and eyes blue with a tint of green. She was wearing clothes suited for the autumn chill, a knit gray sweater with black boots pulled over her black skinny jeans. She was holding her phone in front of her, biting her lip as her eyes darted from the screen to the nearest street sign. With her eyebrows furrowed, she took a few steps back, looking at her phone again. Then she stopped dead, her eyes shining with the beginning of tears as she looked around herself desperately.
Ah! She needed assistance, did she not? Karamatsu pulled away from the wall he had been leaning against and approached the girl. “My flower, are you lost?”
She looked up like she could hardly believe that someone was speaking to her, “Me?”
“Yes, I noticed you looking around, directionless. Perhaps I may aid you?” At least she seemed to understand Japanese. His English skills amounted to a lot of one or two word phrases and little else.
“Oh?” She looked at the screen of her phone, frowning again. “I can't find the train station.”
“I will bring you there!” Karamatsu declared.
The girl shook her head. “Oh no, you don't have to do that. You can just give me directions, it's fine.”
Well it wasn't fine for Karamatsu! What if she became lost again? Actually, where were they right now? Karamatsu looked around himself. He didn't recognize any of the buildings in this area. That was strange. Had he wandered here in a daze and become lost himself? Well he knew the area better than this girl might, so he would do his best to assist her. “I'm not sure of the exact location, but I can help guide you.”
“Err, well.” The girl shuffled her feet, not meeting eyes with Karamatsu. “I… well, thank you for your help.” She bowed towards him. “I'm not very good with directions.” She stood up, placing a hand behind her head as she laughed.
“That's okay. The streets of the city can be confusing! A maze, a labyrinth, twisting turning paths! But with me leading the way, I'm sure we can arrive at your destination!” Karamatsu flicked the fringe of his hair with one hand, his eyes sparkling with determination.
“Well, okay. If you can help.” The girl looked like she was holding back laughter. Obviously his devilish good looks and amazing speech patterns were bringing her that much joy.
“Of course!” Karamatsu looked around himself, trying to decide which way to go. Well if nothing looked familiar, did it matter? He was sure that he would find a train station eventually no matter which way they went! Surely. Karamatsu did a spin and pointed in the direction he stopped. “This way!”
“Alright.” The girl hid her mouth with a hand as a few giggles escaped.
And so they were off on an adventure! To the train station. Karamatsu turned back, making conversation with the girl, “I am Matsuno Karamatsu!”
“Oh, pleased to meet you, Matsuno-san.” The girl scrunched up her face for a moment. “Well, you can call me, um, Rin.”
“The pleasure is all mine, Rin-san!” What a dignified name! “Where are you taking the train to? Some place exciting?”
“Well.” Rin smiled sheepishly. “I guess you could say that.”
The two unlikely companions walked down the busy streets. It almost felt like the streets were becoming narrower the more they walked. Karamatsu did not recognize this place at all. The buildings felt too tall, reaching high into the sky and disappearing into the clouds. It was a claustrophobic sensation, the buildings looming in on them like dark shadows.
Maybe they should try a different way. Karamatsu spun around again, the best way for deciding which way to go, and tried a different direction. The buildings this way were more colorful, neon lights shining in store fronts. This didn't look familiar either. Where were they?
It felt like no matter how much they moved, they made no progress towards finding a train station. Karamatsu was contemplating asking for directions himself, when out of nowhere, they arrived at a small train platform.
Hmm. That was strange. Well they had made it! Just as they climbed onto the platform, a train rolled up before them. That was convenient! Karamatsu looked to see where it was headed, but couldn't make it out.
“Oh, this is my train!” Rin bowed to Karamatsu as the doors opened to the train. No one looked to be departing at this particular stop. “Thank you for your help, Matsuno-san.”
“It was nothing. Have a safe trip, Rin-san.” Karamatsu waved as she crossed over the white line and into the waiting train. She waved back before disappearing from view.
It had been a fun trip, escorting the young lady. Karamatsu wondered if he could find his way home from here now. He looked at the train. The doors were closing slowly before him.
Without much thought, he sprinted forward, entering the train just as the doors shut behind him. Ah, what was he doing?
Well he was already lost, maybe getting even more lost would be fun.

Writevember Day 1: Taking a Break
Prompt List | Read on Ao3
Today, Karamatsu is taking a break.
An ordinary day.
The window was open, a breeze flowing through that was slightly chilly, yet not cold enough to get Karamatsu to move to close it. Instead he just looked out it idly as he rubbed the back of his stiff and sore neck. Besides, he hated the stuffy feeling that came when the house was all closed up. Being able to look outside and admire the view was nice as well.
Not that there was much to look at. The sky was blue with only a few clouds drifting by to break up the color. In the distance there were tall buildings rising up, the familiar ones he always saw. Nothing ever really seemed to change around here. It was always the same and Karamatsu was bored. Bored of the view? Bored of his monotonous life? One of those things.
Not bored enough to do anything about it though. Sure he could hop on a train and get out of the city for a day. That would be an exciting adventure! Perhaps he could bring his guitar and serenade people who he would never see again. Yet he would live on in their memories, of that he was sure. That was an interesting concept. For a brief moment coming into someone's life, leaving behind only a faint memory and haunting melody. Well, like he said prior, he wasn't really up to such a task today. In fact, he honestly didn't want to do anything of substance today.
Today, he was taking a break.
It wasn't as if his normal lifestyle was hectic. He didn't work or go to school. Most days were days that normal people would consider breaks. Sure he helped out with chores from time to time (sometimes more than he would like) and he also had his own projects to work on, but none of that was really productive. At least not in the eyes of society.
Yet here he was, taking a break despite all that. Instead of washing the dishes or writing a new song or gazing intently into his mirror for any flaws, he was sitting here, slack jawed, looking out the window. Not even paying attention to the world outside. He wasn't paying attention to anything, really. Even his inner thoughts were meandering and meaningless. This was just another ordinary day with nothing to do.
His brothers all had plans for today though. Even if those were the same things they always seemed to do. Osomatsu had gone to play pachinko, which was pretty much what he did most days. He was being rather irresponsible with his money lately, which is why Karamatsu has declined to go with him. Someone had to set a good example of an elder brother.
Choromatsu had gone off to some store looking for Nyaa-chan merchandise. That was probably better than him having a panic attack over a job interview or similar. Choromatsu had been stressed out about many things lately. Karamatsu hoped that he was taking a break as well today. Constant anxiety over getting a job was just making him more anxious. An ouroboros of anxiety. Or some other apt metaphor, his brain was too foggy with pain at the moment to think up something more clever.
Ichimatsu and Jyushimatsu had gone to play baseball, although that usually entailed very little actual playing. Mostly Jyushimatsu swung his bat around an absurd amount of times. With Ichimatsu tied to it. That felt far too hectic for Karamatsu at the moment, although he did enjoy Jyushimatsu’s enthusiasm, today the thought of hearing his younger brother shouting sent waves of nausea to his stomach.
Todomatsu had gone out with his friends, his friends that upset him occasionally, bringing his youngest brother to tears over a tweet or text. Things Karamatsu didn't have a full comprehension of, but it left a bad taste in his mouth knowing that despite the hurt feelings, Todomatsu went to hang out with them again. Well, he wasn't sure if he wanted to understand his brother’s actions. If being fake and having your so called friends hurt you was what it took to move up in society, he was content down at the bottom.
In any case, his head really hurt today, so it was easier to do nothing.
Karamatsu leaned back onto the floor, covering his eyes with his arm. Like this it was a bit more easy to ignore the pain throbbing in his head. Getting headaches was nothing new, he got them on occasion from drinking or stress, but this one was more intense. The tylenol he took didn't touch the pain. Oh well. Like most things, he was sure it would pass.
It was growing colder.
Autumn, his most favorite time of the year, felt like it had passed by in the blink of an eye. It was summer and warm just days before; now it was cold and much more bleak. The trees appeared to have changed colors overnight and dropped those leaves just as quickly. That's how fast autumn had arrived and left. He wished it would come back, he hadn't been able to appreciate it to the fullest extent. It was like a song that he wanted to hear but he wasn't listening closely enough so he had to restart it. You can't restart a season though. Once it was gone, it was gone.
Maybe he should stop lazing around and get up now. Do something. His sunglasses did need polishing. Osomatsu had borrowed them, citing them to be so very “cool”. That was a nice compliment, and at least he had broken them, but he had left smudges all over the lenses. But he really didn't feel like that at the moment.
Or maybe he should work on modifying his latest pair of jeans. He had picked them up at the thrift store for cheap, but they needed a lot if work to have that Karamatsu flair! He was thinking of adjusting them like a pair he saw in one of his fashion magazines, a few tears here and there, the back pockets lined with gemstones, it would be fantastic! Potential suitors would rush to his side, unable to resist his charms! But he wasn't really up for that at the moment either.
His guitar needed tuning as well. He wasn't done writing his latest smash hit! A song that would mark the hearts of those who heard it. A song that stuck in their heads and refused to leave. It would be a masterpiece! But at the moment noise might aggravate his already aching head. So he didn't feel like doing that either.
Perhaps he just needed a nap. His head hurting so much was making him nauseous. It was like a hangover, except without the fun part of drinking. He had been completely sober for days anyway. If only he had something to blame the pain on. Not that knowing would cure it any faster.
A nap wouldn't hurt anyway. He really had nothing important to do! It would be alright to be lazy just this once.
Not bothering to get up and grab a blanket or a pillow, his arm still covering his closed eyes, Karamatsu let his consciousness fade into the warm darkness of sleep.

It’s still 11/4 on the west coast
So, all I could think about for this prompt was flour and I’ve been reading a lot of domestic aus for Banana Fish so this is just super self-indulgent ((as if anything isn’t)) softness. I have better things planned for later, but drown in my fluffy bullshit first.
Writevember Day 4 Prompt: Flower
Word count: 531
Rummaging through the sea of plastic bags that was supposed to be the kitchen counter, Eiji went over the checklist one last time. This morning Ash had dictated a long list of supplies for him, swearing to teach Eiji how to make “good” food, whatever that meant. The Japanese boy looked forward to giving his roommate hell about his cooking for once, but more than anything he was glad that Ash was planning to spend the evening at home with him.
Eiji knew better than to ask Ash too many questions; they never got answered and usually just earned him a silent treatment. Still, Eiji could read his friend well, he knew that Ash’s already heavy responsibilities had been pressing harder on him lately. Hopefully a night in cooking together would let Ash crawl out from under his stress for a few hours. Even if it meant easing up on the teasing.
Among the plastic, a small collection of four bright yellow sunflowers laid wrapped in a clear film. Those were priority, they needed water.
While Eiji was still searching under the sink for a container for the flowers, the sound of keys in the lock brought his attention to the arrival of his roommate. The brunette popped up from his crouching position to greet Ash with a grin.
“Ash! You are back! I went shopping-” Eiji’s puppy-dog cheer faltered a little when he noticed the blond tapping away on a cell phone looking frustrated. He wanted to tell whoever was on the other end to give Ash a break before the scowl stuck to his face.
Oh well; he would put it down eventually. Eiji returned to the floor, back to his search, trying his best to resist the urge to make extra noise for attention.
Ash’s phone finally snapped shut as the American boy peered down at his friend. “What are you doing?”
Eiji’s grin found its way back on his face as he stood again. He grabbed the sunflowers and held them out to Ash. “Your flowers need water!”
Jade eyes widened slightly as confusion replaced his irritable features.“Uh, just use the water pitcher for now; we don’t really have a vase or anything.” the younger boy grabbed an empty pitcher from the cabinet top, reaching over Eiji a bit.
Ash filled the pitcher with water at the sink and held it out to his roommate to place the sunflowers in it. His gaze flicked from Eiji down to the bouquet. “So, ‘My flowers?’ Why would I have flowers?” he asked.
It was Eiji’s turn to look confused. “They were on the list.” he took the checklist back out of his pocket. “Let’s see… eggs, cooking oil, flowers- you didn’t specify so I just chose some sunflowers-”
“Flour?” Ash repeated, amusement clear in his voice. “As in, like, white powder for baking?”
Eiji just stared at him. “So, these weren’t what you meant?”
The confusion on his friend’s face over the miscommunication broke Ash, who burst into laughter. Eiji couldn’t help but join. It was so nice to see Ash relax a little.
In the back of his mind, Eiji tried to remember which bag he’d put the flour in.

So, I know I’m really spotty about writing on this blog, but in an effort to Stop That, I’m trying to do the Writevember @taramatsu-san made! I’m a bit late to the party, but since I think a lot of these will end up being fanfiction, I wanted to post them here? Anyway, this one is a short little blurb about Choromatsu and one of my Osomatsu-san OCs because I can’t make OCs and not end up shipping them so here!
The prompt for Day 3: Silence
Word count: 963
Choromatsu was trying his best to focus on the novel in front of him. After waiting months and spending so many hours mentally fantasizing the possible endings, he was eager to see what genius the author had for the story’s conclusion.
He’d been so excited about it moments before, but currently the thrill of curiosity had been torn away from the pages and directed across the room. Why does she have that?
Kameko was not a stranger in the Matsuo household. As one of Todomatsu’s closest high school friends, everyone was familiar with her, despite the fact that Todomatsu never hung out her or any of his friends at their house. The sixth brother had made it incredibly clear that his female friends were off-limits for flirting and breaking that rule would have incredibly dire consequences. That didn’t mean Choromatsu was blind to how pretty Kameko was; it only meant he’d long since stopped thinking he’d have a shot with her.
Apparently she and Todomatsu had plans but the youngest brother was still out on grocery duty with Jyushimatsu, so Choromatsu invited Kameko inside to wait. Her presence was no more distracting than usual as she scrolled through something on her cell phone. What was driving Choromatsu crazy was the presence of the limited-edition Nya-chan keychain on her purse.
Choromatsu shifted awkwardly as he tried not to stare at her too noticeably. He was being ridiculous, Nya-chan was a popular idol, tons of people liked her casually. But how many of those people bothered to get rare collectible merchandise?
He wanted to say something, but what? The silence hadn’t been a problem before, but now it suddenly felt ominous and expecting. He wanted to point out the charm, maybe talk about Nya-chan’s latest album, mention his own admittedly impressive collection, ask if she was attending the concert next week. I did buy a second ticket... Choromatsu thought with an unexpected flip in his stomach.
No, wait, he couldn’t even entertain such an idea. She’d never go for that, she’s exactly like Todomatsu, she probably just thought the charm was cute and didn’t realize what it was. Though, collectables cost more than regular charms; it would be hard not to notice that.
Choromatsu hadn’t realized he was staring until a crash at the front door startled all of his dumb ideas away. It sounded like a body; Todomatsu must’ve made it home. The whirlwind that was Jyushimatsu was close behind, opening the door and dragging his baby brother inside and into the kitchen with a loud greeting.
A few moments later, Todomatsu entered the living room, trying his best to pat his hair down from his flight. Putting on his cutest “was-not-thrown-here-from-the-grocery-store” smile, he turned to an amused Kameko.
“Kame-chan! I’m sorry you’ve had to wait, I hope Choromatsu-niisan hasn’t been bothering you.” The third brother glared at Todomatsu. “I’ll be ready to go in just a second, let me straighten up!” Todomatsu disappeared almost before finishing the sentence.
Kameko giggled and glanced at Choromatsu knowingly. For some reason that shared understanding of the two youngest Matsunos made Choromatsu’s chest feel a little light as he shared her light laughter.
The feeling didn’t stop when the silence returned. The tapping of Kameko’s phone keys was replaced by the muffled slamming of cabinet doors as Jyushimatsu put the groceries away. The silent living room invited Choromatsu to fill it, surprisingly loosening his nerves.
Two minutes felt like days until Choromatsu heard Kameko shift to pick up her purse, that charm jingling on the zipper as she did. Extra ticket nagged his mind as he watched her stand and turn toward the door to wait for her friend.
“Kameko!”
Before he knew why he was doing it, the third brother broke the silence, hearing himself call her name. Kameko turned to face Choromatsu, a questioning look on her face. Cute. Choromatsu thought alongside, Well, no turning back now.
“I- um, there’s a concert. Nya-chan! I have an extra ticket, none of my brothers wanted to go, so- um?” Choromatsu grew nervous as she looked down and toyed with the charm on her purse.
An awkward pause settled between them. Say something! Choromatsu’s heart pounded. What was he doing? He was making her so uncomfortable! This was so stupid, he has to fix it.
“We don’t have to go, you know, together.” he added. “I mean, I don’t mind, but I just- there’s two tickets. And one of me. You would make two. I just noticed your keychain, so…”
When he looked back at Kameko, she was smiling softly, still looking away from him “I would love to, but-“ she started with slight laughter to her voice and Choromatsu began planning out what he would say to Todomatsu, what he would do as he hid from this humiliation for the rest of the day.
“-but I already have my ticket.” Kameko met his eyes with a different kind of knowing smile that made Choromatsu’s stomach flip again. He held his breath as she took a small step toward him. “I guess I can count on seeing you there then?” Kameko said quietly.
Choromatsu was certain his face was bright red even after shaking off his shock. “I- yeah, of course! Y-you too!” he forced out with a grin.
Kameko put her hands up like cat paws, giggling again. “Nya!” She said before footsteps were heard down the hallway.
“Kame-chan! I’m so sorry, I bet if we hurry we can catch that movie!” Todomatsu walked quickly by, pulling Kameko away from his brother in the process. “Bye, Choromatsu-niisan, don’t bother my friends, and tell mom I won’t be around for dinner! Thanks!” the door shut behind them and Choromatsu was left standing in the living room doorway, still trying to process that “Nya”.
