OH MY GOD YES YES YES I COULDNT AGREE W YOU MORE ON THE FEMALE CHARACTERS POST when I was BIG into the Markiplier fandom my favourite character was Celine from WKM, and let me tell you I was the O N L Y person who liked her. EVERYONE hated her JUST because Markipleir was the main character and everyone was SUPER attatched to him (even though in the story his character was canonically terrible to Celine and her actions were completely justified) like I’d go into comments and be like “oh yeah Celines my fave :)” and the misogyny that would follow would be SO??? Gonna put my thoughts on celine under the cut for spoiler protection:

As a character:

PERSONALLY? I think Celine bit off more than she could chew, and because she's part of the cycle of abuse and/or manipulation, she's not coping with it very well. I know a lot of people hate Celine because she essentially sold a lie to Rumi and it's like...how could you lie to Rumi like that?

But I mean...don't parents do this with religion and other related superstitions/old wives tales/bigoted phobias?? They're so so SO convinced that they have a duty to raise you to be the "best", but if that "best" is based on something harmful and you don't know any other life outside of it, and your child/ward/relatives/friends are in violation of this thing you were raised to believe, how do you deal with that? How readily do you reject that? Where does the line get drawn before you say "nah, i'm not following this"?

If i were in Celine's shoes, i genuinely don't know how i'd be; i'd be raised my whole life to think that i needed to fight against this force in this way because not doing so would doom the ENTIRE WORLD, but then not only did my closest friend date a demon behind our backs, but she had a kid with him, like...wtf do i do? the Honmoon chose the offspring and I made a promise w/ my friend on her death that i'd take care of her to carry the tradition on, but this is also a HUGE anomaly to what i was raised to believe.

You'd think that, ofc Celine should change her ways and be more open-minded! The proof is there- they can coexist, not all demons are bad, there's nuances, AND the Honmoon is saying "yes Rumi can be a Hunter"!

But what happens when you replace "demon" with any type of out-group, be it race, identity, nationality, or religion?

It's perfectly fine to hate Celine for that though, because depending on who you are and what your life story is, Celine can be your pastor but you, as Rumi, are closeted. Celine could be your aunt or grandma who lovingly raised you as well as she could, but she's a raging racist and you, as Rumi, are mixed race.

Except she is, Celine, so tough shit lmaoooo I know you're doing your best to fight your prejudices and do right by your duty for the safety of the world, and it's hard and you've roped rumi into it, but let's hope the shame doesn't hit so hard that gwi-ma takes you too

And he'd be singing it to Lucius or someone (no actually yes just Lucius) because I'm a raging sprizzy shipper okay and it would be just *chefs kiss* and and and

I'm not sure if you'd like reader as Celine's s/o. She's not actually in this, just mentioned. I need her for plot+excuse for why reader is around as much as they are.

Being Rumi's other parental figure. See- Because Celine so subtly engraved Rumi's hatred for her own body, imagine if she'd had someone who would always fiercely counter that idea growing up, you. Celine's own s/o.💀 It most likely wouldn't spare her the insecurity, but it may have not been as bad as it was by the time she reached where she was in the movie.

Reader: "Well you didn't choose it, and you're not better or worse for it. Your parents don't define who you are, your choices do. So choose good."

Rumi: "Okay!" *going back to drawing while she deadass forgets that whole conversation bc she's four or something.*

MY SHAYLAAA. I WISH SHE HAD A BETTER PARENT FIGURE. Literally went full mama bear mode when Celine was fr staring at distressed Rumi and just not listening to what was being said to her.

Honestly if Celine's not gonna take care of her properly then we may as well 😒 LIKE okay real talk I hate kids, right, but even I'd be like "wtf" with the way Celine essentially made her grow up with such insecurities hello??? I'd smack the living SHIT outta her idc if she's battle-trained!!!!!

Rumi would see you as like the nicer parent between you and Celine and she may genuinely even go to you for whenever everything eats at her too much ☹️☹️☹️ and especially whenever Mira and Zoey try to invite her our to like bathhouses or anything that may show off her patterns ☹️☹️☹️☹️ bc it's like. She's not gonna go, as much as she wants to, but she still feels so left out bc of it so she goes to the person that knows that she has patterns but accepts her anyway. She'd DEFINITELY end up in a better place than whatever tf's going on now bc even if she still thinks she's a monster or a mistake, at least she knows she isn't really completely alone

Methinks it'd still hurt like hell though, thanks to Celine's constant. Thing. Like at some point she'd have to wonder like why is it only just you that accepts her for who she is? Why can't anyone else? Mira and Zoey would understand right? Bc she didn't ask to be born like this. It just kinda spirals either way god I feel so bad for this girl

Imagine the whole scene w Celine happens as well, except you end up witnessing it and Rumi's absolute State. And when she sees that you don't even try to walk away—in fact, if you even start walking towards her without reservation bc that is YOUR KID not a fucking monster—she might break down and end up running to you despite Celine's shouts to hug you in tears bc she just. She just got force-revealed, her two best friends turned on her bc of the surprise realisation, Jinu betrayed her ass, and now one of her parental figures can't even look at her in the eye :(. She'll teleport off to the Tower after but :((((( please god I need her taken care of this woman deals w so much ☹️☹️☹️

From all of the circle characters who died young, who do you think deserved most to live?

Oh god I don’t know 😭😭 Michael and Celine definitely deserved it the most. 

Michael could have done SO MUCH GOOD if he’d lived. Firstly, he would probably work to repair what damage the Circle had done and do what he could to make amends for his/their mistakes; he’d be pretty outspoken about it too. I’m pretty positive he and Robert would’ve made up at some point, so then Michael could’ve been a great Uncle figure to Alec and Isabelle and Max. Maybe he would have even rubbed off (in a good way) on Robert’s parenting too idk the possibilities are literally endless 🤷 And also, I’m assuming this would mean Jonathan Wayland wouldn’t have died because wtf why?!?!?! Michael would’ve been an amazing dad and it kills me that he never got to be one. 

But then we have Celine, who - out of everyone in the Circle - definitely got the most screwed up ending. Her life was literally just terrible from beginning to end and I think she deserved a chance to turn it around.

For example, I don't know if you've seen this one before but there were theories of Jinu being alive and being in Rumi's weapon, kinda like soul eater. Or if you have any headcanons you have of your own? also I love your art of Jinu crying, instantly cried when i saw it 😭

I actually love this idea since I'm a fan of Soul Eater and Noragami (<- which was another inspiration for those theories) A friend and I (@bornonthebreakofdawn) discussed a little about it in Discord too! She wondered who would be the villain if they end up making a sequel with that plot and then I replied with:

"I think Celine definitely should play as a villain, or at least be one of the antagonist, like she still doesn't accept Rumi's demon side and now the very weapon Rumi uses is infused with a demon's soul and Celine despises that. This would be a great concept because it would show that demons aren't the only ones capable of being monsters. Also what if Celine played a part in the death of Rumi's mother? Like... she finds out about the relationship between a demon and Rumi's mom and takes it upon herself to punish her, but then she starts getting eaten up by the guilt that she vows to at least take care of Rumi for her as a self righteous act."

Granted this is a very early visual concept and not official... but potentially COULD BE FOR A POSSIBLE SEQUEL?!?

As for any of my headcanons, I just have ideas for smaller details like a better ending for Rumi and Jinu that stays close to the original, which is a mini comic I want to make, and if Jinu actually wore the bracelet during the Your Idol performance, and another one is how Jinu came across Derpy/Duffy the Tiger and the Crow. Oooh another headcanon that I have is Rumi finally discussing her relationship with Jinu to Zoey and Mira, I feel like I would have loved to see that so that's another comic idea locked in my head. But right now I'm just enjoying consuming content being created by all the artists and writers, it's just so much fun and everything has been so beautiful!

I watched the reaction and when it got to The Dream Premiere I was like how do you not SEE. They were screaming in our faces. Actually the whole of chap.2 was them screaming in our faces how smitten they are with eachother. How much space they take in eachother's lives despite busy schedules, (spending time before and after trips, hello) The couple vibes they were giving off was so real and it couldn't just be explained away as fan service because most of these moments were during free time. If this was a man and a woman it would not be up for debate. Look at how easily everyone accepted Taennie despite so much wonky and dodgy evidence and there you have Taekook blushing and shyly staring at eachother in HD at The Dream Premiere looking like they coordinated their outfits. Tae was looking at Kookie like he was ready to claim him on the spot, like this man is his whole world. The Kappa sweetheart shirts? Lets be real that was no coincidence and that's the type of stuff couples do in Korea which is why nobody really wants to talk about it lol. But okay, brothers I guess.

I'm betting he either showed Tae his costume fittings earlier and Tae wore his or they really sat down and plotted couples outfits. The Celine jacket and padlock MIGHT be a coincidence but Tae was absolutely definitely fully ensconced as Celine boy at that point. The association is clear to me.
