sifhjwjdhfjjfsb I get rlly insecure abt any of the music I make but maybe I'll post some of the covers I've made at some point ^^!! rn I'm working on an english cover for monitoring with Teto's synthV voicebank :D (normally I stick to UTAU or Vocaloid5 but getting my old UTAU set-up from before I lost everything on my computer to work on my laptop has been a PAIN so in the meantime I've been using synthV) surprisingly it doesn't sound too bad even with my more robotic sounding tuning style!!

this is very very funny. great pitch, gavel noise motion passes. here’s an unedited whipped-up-in-ten-minutes snippet of unintentional brat max + lewis unable to do anything about it, in the cooldown room. &your ask didn't send twice, no worries :)

Lewis’ home win in Silverstone seemed all sewn up until the final straight of the final lap, when Max happened to him.

Charles waves at Max as they settle into the cooldown room’s seats, three horrible armchairs that surely somebody fetched from a nearby garage sale because all the budget went into champagne. “Good fight.”

“Yes! At the start I thought you had me because Carlos’ tyre exploding forced me wide and the kerbing is so bad because the floor is low this year and—” Max kicks his legs up so he’s sitting in the chair sideways, worms his head around to make eye contact with Lewis “—I almost hit you but your save was very good.”

“You clipped my sidepod.”

“Oh did I? That’s interesting when it’s like that and you can’t quite tell in the heat of the, of when it’s happening and everything. I didn’t feel contact. So I lost so much time and dropped like two places, both Mercedes got past.”

Both Lewis and Charles have unzipped their suits to the waist and taken off their helmets. Max’s helmet is off too but he still feels way too sweaty and hot, the collar of his suit damp but its zipper off-limits. The length of his sleeve clings at the bend of his elbow, all of it plastered too tight. 

Lewis smiles back at Max. “I felt the contact.”

“Did you?” The TV screen plays back a replay of the scene and from the outside it’s more obvious that yes, Lance rear-ends Carlos and Carlos’ left tyre blows out, he spins, Max’s Red Bull weaves up and left, the back of his car brushes just lightly against Lewis who’s forced onto the brakes, and drops back into clear track right as Charles dives up the racing line Max had aborted, overtaking everyone for the lead. Max inhales through his teeth. “Wow yeah, you must be so annoyed with Lance.”

Charles giggles. When Max looks over at him he’s looking at Lewis, and when Max twists back to Lewis he’s still just smiling at Max.

“An apology might make me feel better.”

“An—? Well maybe, but Lance is kind of a dick to be honest and his impact on your race was so indirect that it, that it’s unreasonable to expect that.” The playback changes to the next notable event of the race—Lewis coming out of the pits ahead of Charles, successfully undercutting for the lead. “Your team timed this really well. I was surprised when you went because a two-stop seemed totally fucking stupid but it worked okay for you right? Mostly I guess, until the end.”

Charles tut-tuts regretfully. “Yes, Max, I could not believe it either. Lewis you asked for the two-stop over the radio, didn’t you? Bryan said something like that.”

“Yeah man, the deg was terrible because my balance was all over the place.”

Max tilts his head. “How were you having deg problems when you were on the mediums? I knew the softs would be terrible but the mediums were fine. You’re great at management normally and I didn’t have any issues, the grip was totally good and no blistering or anything? Balance, what?”

Lewis says: “Because one side of my car had a hole in it.”

Max laughs, “oh right. Well. You raced well of course, with the hole.”

Lewis says: “Thanks.”

The armchair is killing his back so Max flops about until he’s back in the seat properly, but he’s still so sweaty that the feeling of fabric against him drives Max back up to his feet to perch on the arm of Charles’ chair instead.

“Hello Max,” smiles Charles. “How did you still have MOM charge at the end like that?”

“I knew the two-stop was a bad idea! Lewis came out on the softs and I thought there’s no way, so we went to a different engine mode and I started short-shifting to get more recharge building up in the MGU-K. You were ahead of me by I think three seconds? After the stop, so it was risky to be, for the car to go into a less aggressive mode when I should’ve been closing the gap. I had to convince the team but really it was like—guys we are going to have another chance, his tyres will be so fucked by the end and Charles is going to wear him down and they’ll both be burned out. So at the final lap I’d got six seconds of overtake back and I didn’t even have to use all of them.”

Charles’ eyes crease up as he dimples. “Ahh, you knew I’d chase him?”

“Don’t be an idiot Charles. In what planet would you not go racing. I knew you’d do most of the work for me anyway and I was right.”

“Mmhm,” says Charles, “you just lay back and didn’t have to do anything. Do you like it that way?”

Max feels his lips twisting in a pout. “What? No, I like to fight of course.”

Lewis says: “Of course.”
