11: How do they cope with confusion (seek clarification, pretend they understand, etc)?

Depends on the situation!!! If looking like he knows what’s going on is to his advantage, Thief’s very good at bluffing! He likes to know as much as he can about every angle and dynamic between people he possibly can- not having that information puts him at a disadvantage, gives someone else a leg up. Can’t have that!!!

He WILL be investigating thoroughly the second he’s out of scrutiny, though. Or, at least, scrutiny that he’s not already compensating for. Whether means bribing, killing, threatening, or stealing to get his hands on that info, he’s game for whatever. The only hard limit he has is if it won’t benefit him/places him personally in greater danger than he’s willing to sign up for, he’ll leave it be.

… well. That USED to be the only hard limit. He won’t risk his allies’ lives/harm nowadays- he keeps them safe like he would his own self, and won’t put forward a plan if it’ll get them in more trouble than he knows (or thinks he knows) they can handle.

29: Do they usually live up to their own ideals? 

Robot tries to!!! They strive to have achievable goals, having worked with a lot of therapists/life coaches/self help books. She knows she isn’t perfect- even though she’d like to be. So! He’ll try to be the best version of himself she can be!

And it’s working! It really is! They’re stable and satisfied and graduated with a degree and all the honors attached and have their own place and even have a secure good paying career in IT!

Doesn’t matter that they view the world as still a fundamentally cruel place, full of uncaring and cruel people/events/gods. She’s kind and polite to others. He gives what he receives, and doesn’t try to make more trouble for everyone.

It’s good, right? Their life is so good.

Now… if only the bone deep exhaustion would go away…

37: Do they have a system for remembering names, long lists of numbers, things that need to go in a certain order (like anagrams, putting things to melodies, etc)? 

They have SO MANYYYYY like so many it’s BONKERS. She’s tried every method that’s been passed around since her childhood, by experts and adults she trusts alike. He’s found a good handful that work best for him, and tries to cycle through them based on project/how long it’s been since he last used a particular method.

Anagrams and lists tend to be favorites! Though memorizing strings of numbers/names just comes naturally to them :]
