So this is the difficulty I have when using DATS. My actual spot is from the light post to the small sign; however the tree is where the lift is supposed to go. The driver had a tight squeeze due to the truck that was parked just the other side (parked correctly) of the light post. I’m beyond angry right now! #yegdats has refused services for the next foreseeable future. My #hemodialysis is on Sundays, Wednesdays & Friday’s @ 12:45-4:45. My pick up window from home is 11:30-noon and from the clinic with a window of 5:15-5:45. My husband can take me tomorrow but he isn’t available for the other 2 days. This all started because I was honest about having a cough for a month. I’ve had a test for #covid_19 which was negative. Yesterday, because I was presenting with new symptoms, they did bloodwork and a throat swab. I have no idea when the results will be back. My dr suspects it’s rhinovirus in other words the common cold. I make sure my hands are cleaned, use hand sanitizer & I’m masked up before leaving the house. Same for when I leave the clinic. I get that they need to protect clients & drivers but to decline transportation is ridiculous! This is essential for my health. Ultrasound & X-ray booked on my left knee; October 23. I took it as the soonest appointment would’ve been in November. This is from the incident last week with the DATS driver. So now that I’ve had some sleep, I’m going to explain my Twitter rant regarding #yegdats. I booked a ride Mon so I could go to a women’s recovery meeting in the West end from my Central home in #yeg. So I’m ready and waiting on the wheelchair lift at 4:30; with a window of 4:30 to 5:00. DATS showed up and it wasn’t a wheelchair accessible vehicle. I distinctly remember mentioning the wheelchair; however in thir nots the put in walking with walker. I prefer using the wheelchair as it helps with mobility issues and my fear of falling. My subscription for Monday & Thursday state wheelchair...so yeah I was frustrated. Ugh! I had no problem getting my “on demand trip for today. Why they couldn’t have done this lastnight, I have no idea. Booking has also been fixed, so I have wheelchair accommodation. I’m so pissed right now! I that’s my DATS booking had been taken care of last week; however it wasn’t! Now I have to call in tomorrow for an “on demand” bus and hope I have a bus for my #hemodialysis appointment tomorrow. I can’t get to regular transit due to no ramps currently in my community.
